probably one of the worst things I realized about verse three patrick is that he doesn’t base his circle of acquaintances/friends on compatibility.

It’s based on whether they’re going to hurt him and/or how much he thinks they're going to hurt him. That’s how he decides whether he likes someone or not- he’s so used to being metaphorically stabbed/blamed for something that isn’t his fault that when he encounters someone who he ends up in a neutral interaction or someone who doesn’t have any covert intentions interacting with him it surprises him….and I think that’s really sad 😞
