Hehehe hohoho thinking about throwing Post-Canon Tim into Undertale. Just him and Frisk going through the underground, making friends
#and also at the end they defeat the Operator#with the power of Friendliness Pellets :)#and The God of Hyperdeath#and this knife Frisk found!#anyways I have thought about what his starting items would be#Weapon - Pocket Knife. Armor - Worn-out Flannel#he also of course has a bottle of pills#and a pack of cigarettes#he can also see Chara but since Frisk doesn't talk‚ he just assumes they're another hallucination#Chara even translates monster text and sign language for him‚ and he just assumes he must've already known this stuff#and this is how his mind is supplying that info to him#then Frisk starts interacting with Chara directly and he's just. a bit nervous about the ghost child#bc of course‚ the last time someone else could see his hallucinations they all kinda died#but they grow on him eventually. he realizes they really are just a child#man I love combining my interests#i also just like giving Frisk an adult figure to accompany them through their journey#an adult who will understand their struggle of survival#yippee!!!!#marble hornets#undertale#mh tim wright#frisk#frisk undertale

Why do you think Toriel is Sans mom?
I started this response saying i was gonna be quick about it but I REALLY like talking about media and making long posts about it. So please know that this being super long isn't me trying to be like "I am right you are wrong! *puts you on blast*" but just.. because I ramble a lot and got carried away with it qwq. You're totally valid in asking this.
Basic gist is just Toriel is like super old and Sans is not (I personally see him in his mid-late 20's but whatever floats your boat), and idk I just like that interpretation of their dynamic a lot qwq. More under the cut.
Like headcanons for age and whatnot aside Toriel and Asgore are old as FUCK. We see what we can assume to be Asgore and Toriel (as adults) in the opening of the game in the sequences describing the war between humans and monsters.
Now sure, you can argue that these are not Toriel and Asgore but even then they've been around long enough to be full grown adults when Chara falls down. Now you can have your own interpretation of how long it takes between Chara falling and Frisk falling but I think we can safely say it's a decent period of time. Toriel even says at the beginning of the game that Frisk is the first human to fall in a long time, and we can assume that Sans and Papyrus weren't alive when the first human fell, let alone the 6th human fell because Papyrus doesn't even know what a human looks like until Sans points Frisk out to him. You could argue that Sans was alive when the last human fell but we can assume their age gap is pretty small (in a deleted tweet Toby even implied they might be twins saying that Papyrus would call him Aniki-san in a japanese translation. This doesn't hold too much water since in the actual translation he just calls Sans Oniichan which is strictly for older siblings to my understanding but you get my point. I don’t know like any japanese so someone please correct me if I’m wrong here ^^), so even then Sans would have been pretty young? Personally I like to think he knew what a human looked like either because history books (but he's more into science), or because he's friends with Alphys and she's probably forced him to watch a lot of anime so he'd have a vague understanding of what they look like (Also my friend pointed out to me that a LOT of monsters don’t know what a human looks like so we can actually assume that this whole generation of monsters hasn’t seen a human before). That's just a headcanon i wanted to throw in for fun though qwq.
So why mother son? I feel like I could have worded it better originally and don't want to retype it so here's me copying and pasting from a convo I had with a friend. "See I just think it's a fun interpretation of their dynamic cause Toriel has a REALLY bad habit of adopting any troubled kid she comes across like yeah formally they are friends but I think she definitely sees him as someone to take care of but again that's just my interpretation of their dynamic." Gist is I don't think that they're like actually a mother and son duo but like it has the vibes. Fanon interpretation or note, there’s no denying that Sans has a REALLY bad habit of hiding things from people. He hides things from Papyrus a lot for instance (and vise versa but that’s a topic for another day). There’s definitely something going on with him and I think Toriel would be able to sense that and have a need to try and help her friend with the problems he’s facing, acting as someone he can go to to talk, even if he isn’t always truthful with her. It’s implied Sans can be vulnerable around her and can act like himself without worrying about having to put on an act for others or have Papyrus get upset with him for slacking off. She’s a safeplace for him and she knows this. On a less heavy note: I also think about that winter dialogue where Sans stands out in the cold specifically to make his hand cold and touch her face with it like he's just a little shit to her and I love that (Also i just REALLY like the idea of Toriel being like a mother figure for him and Papyrus due to Gaster headcanons sue me lmao).
My last thing, and take this with a HUGE grain of salt because unlike the tweet i mentioned earlier I never saw this one first hand so I don't know if it's true but apparently before toby deleted his old twitter he made a tweet about how Sans wasn't really interested in romantic relationships??? (what an aroace king love that for him).
Anyways I hope that helps clear things up! In the end if we're going the Soriel route (sorry I mentioned it so much just. since me mentioning this take was on a post about not liking soriel i'm assuming this is what that was about),: are they both consenting adults? Yeah. But like. Also it just makes me uncomfy and the found family interpretation is RIGHT there.
EDIT (outside of the ones I already did cause idk how to smoothly edit this in): Toriel also refers to herself as an old lady multiple times. So there’s that as well.
#ask to tag#thanks for the ask!#sorry i rambled so much lmao dhfjkdng#gonna keep this one out of the main tags i don't want people trying to start shit with me#Edit: I added some more to this going a bit more in depth about my interpretation of their relationship.

Ideas, no solutions
Justin could be seen alone in the lab today. Alphys had gone out to do some other errands given to her from the King regarding the surface. He would be stuck there, writing in his journal over something he deemed important. How long was it since he made a science log over something that he found to be so jarring? Probably about a year ago. It doesn't matter now, as he has to focus on the new problems that arise now that he's an assistant of the Royal Scientist. He sticks a the pencil's eraser at his chin, pondering over some kind of problem.. and if you look into the lined paper it says..
July 14th,
It has been at least over a year since the creation of Chara Dreemurr's new body, and it show no lapse of change of health. She's completely healthy now, however, the cracks in her Soul have made it so that it's a little worrying, especially in terms of the fact that they are bonded with Frisk. She doesn't send to mind that her HP is abnormal, but at some point, there needs to be some kind of a solution for the three of them, otherwise it could point to a few problems.
I've noticed some things, that the three can feel where the other may be if they're nearby, and when they are together, their Magic level rises to max capacity, but if separate, it shrouds to that of a mere third of it. That's the downside of having a split Determination Soul. Though it's roughly been a while since then, the Souls show no signs of mending. I'm beginning to have my doubts..
"There just... Has to be some kind of solution here. Even if they aren't worried, I can't help but feel something is wrong." Before he can finish writing, some other would step into the lab, walking in front of his desk to see what he was working on, he closed his book promptly, upon seeing who they were, it would be no other than one of his friends, being Rasheed, giving him a puzzled expression.
"I assume that I feel like that I know what you're going to say. Is it about.. that again?"
"Pretty much," he responds, reopening his book since he is one of the only ones he shows this too, other than Alphys. "I don't think I have to explain what's so worrying about the health regarding those three. If only there was something I could do. I know the solution, but that would only open up a few problems."
"You're talking about the Core.", Rasheed answers, having talked about this before, but he feels like something may be a little different. To that, Justin answers to that good guess, standing up. "Yeah, we both know, that thing is powered by Chara's Soul from the True Lab, and has been there since she died. If we could somehow remove it from the Core without causing too much damage, we could restore Frisk's Soul Abit and restore Chara completely in her new body. Even if the signs say they're healthy, I feel like it may come with complications later.. and I don't want anything to happen to them."
Rasheed pondered for a moment, sitting on the edge of the desk, arms crossed. He had one solution.
"Then we need a substitute power source in place of her Soul. Correct? Even so, it's not that easy. Now I see why you called me... But the thing is, do you really have any idea on what you can do at this moment in time.."
"..." Justin is the one to look away, scoffing at first, before answering with a "No". It seems that he can't find the solution to this problem even so, he almost feels as if it's so simple, but also so complicated and tedious. One can only find out. "What if we.. replaced it with another Soul? Something equivalent to that. The problem is that the equivalent to a soul filled with Determination are six other souls used to fill that role. Meaning--"
"Us?," he interrupts. "It's not that simple, even if Souls are Magic, aside from me, the others, especially my brother don't know how to use their Souls to convert something into another. Ergo, the defining essence of a soul into another without it breaking. However, what we're not going to do is use that extractor. So in other words.."
"Yeah, you figured it out. I'm stuck... Even with the possible option, the latter would start to crack our Souls since we're not ready for something like that. We'd have to be stronger for that.." Justin stammered, sitting back down in his chair and laid back. This was so tiresome yet he couldn't stop thinking on it. What can he do, what can he do..
"For now then, continue monitoring their health and let me know. Until then, don't feel pressured on it, putting something so heavy on your shoulders.."
"Hmm.. I'll try, but I can't promise anything."
