Skye and his family actually tell Ash pretty quickly what’s going on (that Skye is terminally ill and the only cure is that he needs his love returned by his “unknown” crush). Though, it’d be hard to not tell Ash about it after he sees Skye cough up parts of thistle right in front of him.

Ash gets super upset about the whole Skye is dying thing, so it makes it his mission to figure out who it is and get them to like Skye back so Skye can live and not die very painfully!! As well as being extra nice and comforting, which does the exact opposite effect he’d want, but Skye (and Pika) aren’t going to tell him that.
