I'd also like to provide an addition
It really isn't looking good, one of the replies says this video was using SFM. I wish they'd say anything, but it's valve
[image id 1: a screenshot of two tumblr replies, one from user j4v4r10 asking "Help what happened", and the second from user necropolitan-fairy also asking "What did they do??? I keep hearing they've done something but no one will say what."
image id 2: a tweet from emmanuel_2m reading as follows: Breaking news! Steam has officially given the green light for using AI in game development. According to their press release, "This will enable us to release the vast majority of games that use it."
image id 3: a tweet from Joey Cheerio with text saying "Valve just DMCA'D TF:Source 2. This doesn't look good." two images are included, one of the discord announcement from the TF:Source 2 devs (which speaks about their unusable code due to sandbox updates and the DMCA being the nail in the coffin), and one image of their logo.
image id 4: a tweet from Joey Cheerio again, this time with text saying "Portal 64, an open source N64 demake of portal was also taken down by Valve. This is unheard of coming from the company known for helping people with their IP's." An image is also included of the Portal 64 devs' statement about why it was taken down (dependencies on Nintendo's propriety libraries) and other projects they have planned.
image id 5: a tweet from NoelleWas_Taken stating as follows about TF2, "First update of 2024 breaks item game servers, game has been in 2007 mode for 2 days now. Valve DMCA's TF2-Source 2 and Portal 64. Bots are still a rampant issue. #SaveTF2 is trending again." In the tweet, a video of a deep fried Scout is standing a-posed facing a padded wall.
image id 6: a link to a tweet from Tyler_McV that reads, "I trimmed a section out of today's video due to not explaining the situation well enough in my opinion. Let me try again. A known valvesoftware. com email addressed, belonging to a known member of Valve's own legal team sent the STRIKE to a youtuber over the use of 'Team Fortress 2'." included is an image of information on the copyright strike.
image id 7: a close up of the copyright strike information. the video title and url have been censored, but the strike reads that "The infringer is using stolen TF2 assets in their video" for the "Entire video". They received a copyright strike for this.
