Name: Bethany Nickname: Beth (I want to have a more creative one as well but that seems to be one that’s particularly stuck on my other blog!) I’d love to get sloth icons as well, though, because... I’m awfully slow...

Pronouns: she/her, they/them Height: 5′ 6″ (I think?) Birthday: September 24th Aesthetic: Pretty nature stuff to be sure, specifically oceans, forests, mountains, mist, and sunlight. I grew up in/my home is in the middle of the actual woods and I do live on top of a mountain, so that’s influenced me a lot. Also rain on the window, autumnal crispness and cloudy skies, summer haze, spring brightness and flowers, and road trips/anything to do with travel and wanderlust, freedom, escape, and homesickness. Last song you listened to:  Okay, last real song, probably Data and Picard by Pogo (I love all of his stuff, especially his Alice in Wonderland stuff, and the music video is adorable!)... but... if I’m being honest, this or this... I can be meme trash sometimes... also I’m a sucker for good animation...

Favourite muse(s) you’ve written: That’s a great question! I’m rather partial to my dear little Sam, as he’s one of my oldest characters and he’s what got me into roleplaying in the first place. Plus, he’s really, really sweet and adorable and loves everyone. You see, back in my day (*shakes cane*), we roleplayed in notebooks in like a prose format (like, you write your character’s thoughts or dialog, then I write mine, usually with a pre-planned story or premise) and then we escalated to Google Docs. I actually still roleplay in this constructed-story, constructed-universe, shared-universe, long-term format (I once did stories with one partner over the course of several Google Docs, a few years, and several generations of characters that was easily over 2,000 pages), if anybody’s interested. It’s a lot of fun but really crazy! Aside from him, I’ve really been enjoying playing Christopher Robin lately, more so than I ever thought I would. His character is just so sweet and cute but really wise and mature as well and I love it! I also really like Saoirse so far and some muses that don’t get a lot of attention, my OCs Laura, Odea, and Andromeda. They have so much cool potential that I’m just dying to explore, especially Andromeda as she’s the first truly original character that I’ve made in like... years... I’m also very fond of my Tintin, but, because I want to get him right and there’s so many amazing Tintins out there, I’m really caught up in my own head about perfecting him and getting him right. Also, because he means so much to me and on top of all those reasons, I don’t have the courage to write him a lot, take a lot of time to get into character for him, and am always worried about messing him up and doing him justice. I need to get over that... If any of you have any advice, I’d love to hear it.

What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): Well, I have my Sherlock Holmes multimuse (the “other blog” I’ve been talking about), but I realized that the more I got into Tumblr RP (I’ve only been doing this since about May) the more and more I liked it, and I soon got the idea for a lot of more characters that I wanted to write, but that wouldn’t fit the theme of the other one (which is mainly my old nextgen characters plus Holmes, Watson, and the BBC’s Rosie). I then got the idea of a vintage aesthetic, traveling-and-adventure-themed multimuse which then morphed and exploded into this. Most of the characters still fit the theme to some extent, but others... well, it’s just sort of a repository for all of my other characters and character ideas now.

What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: Music, random ideas that I get in the shower, and, if I’m writing a canon character, that character’s home property (either a TV show, movie, book, or comic). Usually if I watch the thing or read the thing, I get the inspiration to write that character and sort of get into that mindset again, and I’m able to write them a lot better than I would if I were just going in and trying to write them without that. My original characters I can pretty much write at any time since I have too many characters and spend far too much time thinking about them-- I spend most of my free time writing and worldbuilding-- so it’s pretty natural for me. If I’m having trouble though, I will turn to music (I tend to make playlists based on my OCs and some canon characters I’m very, very fond of) and that can often times help me get “into character”, if you will. Also, the energy of the other person helps a lot; if I know there’s interest and excitement, that will instantly give me so much inspiration and motivation, so, please come talk to me and talk about our characters and that will get me to do all the things I’m supposed to do! XD

Favourite types of threads: Like I said before, I will love pretty much any thread so long as there’s interest and excitement from both me and my writing partner about it. I can get very passionate about replies so quickly if people show that they’re interested! But, my absolute favorites are ones that go very in-depth with character relationships, especially platonic ones. Give me light, happy fluff that’s utterly ridiculous and silly, give me fluff that’s sweet, kind, and familial, give me hurt/comfort to show how much they care for the other, give me adventures where they explore your worlds and mine (especially mine... I’ve been building this one world, the one that Sam and Laura are from, for literally over ten years now so... yeah, I have a problem)... I like unplotted threads, of course, but I really love threads that I or my partner get a random plot idea for and then just build and build and build off of that. Basically? Give me threads that you’re excited about and happy about and want to do, and I’ll be happy too!
