But it’s been a lot. A lot on just about every facet of our lives. I’m not complaining, though, because I’m happy that we’re able to help her.

So my mom’s been trying to do things to help out (since she can’t physically help at all). She started with an electric dog fence - mostly out of fear of letting her dog out (who is also living with us) and accidentally letting our smallest dog out. (Our smallest is wiley little dachshund who likes to roam). It was expensive, but our dogs LOVE the freedom they now have in the backyard.

Then she started having these meal kits delivered to the house. I think part of it was because she wanted to help out and part of it was being able to control our meals. 😂. So we now get these deliveries once a week. And they’re not cheap. We’ve told her not to worry, that we can take care of meals. But she insists.

And there’s been little things here and there. In May my daughter was talking about how it would be better if we had an air fryer (especially since I won’t let her fry anything in the house). Two days later an air fryer showed up on the porch. I mentioned that my belt was on its last leg and a few days later two new belts arrived. Same with shorts.

This week I mentioned that I needed to deep clean the bathroom and figure out a good way to deal with the excess moisture that lingers. I started to research dehumidifiers. Sure enough, I noticed one on the front porch last night when I went to bed.

I guess I shouldn’t complain, because we’ve gotten a lot of things we need for the house. But I do feel bad that she’s buying these things for us. My wife’s friends have jokingly told her that she needs to start talking about how she needs a tennis bracelet. 😂

So I guess guilt shopping is a thing. I’ll ponder it some more in my moisture-free bathroom while I’m looking for recipes for my new air fryer. 😂 I do feel badly that she feels the need to do these things, though.
