For mold, it kinda depends on what kinda food it is? Bread, yeah, 100%, throw that shit out. Bread mold is Bad for you. (I just have an iron stomach. Ask at your own risk.) So is most mold on meat, except edible mold on like, cured ham.
Fruit, eh. Depends on the natural sugar content? Grew up on generously cutting away moldy and mushy parts and eating the rest, though. Similar w jams, afaik the mycelium can't survive the high sugar content at deeper levels? Might depend on the mold, espc since if you've sterilized your jars properly any mold comes from stray crumbs etc.
Late vintage wines, for example, are made with grapes that had grown a very specific edible mold.
Hard cheese, bc it's quite dry, is also safe-ish, I've been taught that the mold can't penetrate deep. Here, it also depends on the mold. If it's like, super obvious the mold is from the camembert next to it? Gimme xxD
