Long denim cheerful poncho. New ideas give me new perception and motivation. Using different jeans, I color them, cut them out and crochet them with multicolored yarn. Visit my etsy shop, link in bio. Possibility of selling by personal collection. By collection prices are definitely more friendly 😊 : : #LongPoncho, #HippieStyle, #Denim #Poncho, #Crochet #squaredcrochetponcho, #Squaredcrochet #newstyleponcho, #multicolorponcho, #fancyponcho, #uniqueponcho, #handcolored #diydenim #crichetsquares #boho#londonhippie #fancydress #bohoponcho #squaredponcho #multicolorcoat #multicolorponcho (w: London, Unιted Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnbdpVTsjiX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I couldn't let my special boy's birthday go without contributing something to Nightcrawler week. <3 I got some really lovely pirate stickers in just to decorate a card for Kurt (or lets be realistic, several). I layered several handcolored stickers as well as transluscent ones to make the border design, and I'm really pleased with the end result- I think it has a pleasing layered look that really makes me think of water.
I've done several Kurt cards in the past, so be sure to check out my #decorated toploader tag to see more! :D

First image: Crested peacock, Indian or blue peafowl, Pavo cristatus.. Handcolored copperplate drawn and engraved by Edward Donovan from his own Natural History of British Birds, London, 1794-1819 (Mary Evans Online)
Second image: Pavo cristatus by English School, (18th century) (after); Indian peafowl or peacock, Pavo cristatus. Handcoloured copperplate engraving from Samuel Galton Jr.s Natural History of Birds containing a Variety of Facts selected from Several Writers for the Amusement and Instruction of Children, London, Joseph Johnson, 1791. (Mary Evans Online)
While peafowl are still considered an "exotic" pet because they are not a cat or a dog, they have been bred in captivity and domestic settings for thousands of years. One of the older captive mutations, pied, is literally hundreds of years old, showing up in artwork from at least the 17-and-1800s.
#peafowl#peacocks#history#artwork#I know there's other examples#and white is even older#but I happened across these while hunting down the hen from the other photoset#and wanted to share them

hi miss terra i was wondering if as an art historian you consider the lines of low and high art to blur with the context of time? like japanese woodcuts which were low art when they were first made but now require a significant amount of training and work and are more rare? or are the designations more rigid since they are moreso about technique and class
Yeah most art and other objects gain higher antiquarian value with temporality but it depends upon the culture i.e. "primitive" African masks are more valuable to east coast american collectors in the 1990s than they would be to an ivory coast tradesman in the 1600s
or this one badly handcolored book printed on paper was a lower mid class object in renaissance northern europe, but it is valuable in the US now
