On the return trip on November 18, the Blue Dream Melody cruise ship brought about 400 Chinese tourists to Ha Long International Passenger Port. The ship anchored at the port until 6 p.m. the same day for tourists to visit the heritage - wonder of Ha Long Bay, city tour to explore famous tourist destinations, experience culture, cuisine, and shopping in Ha Long.

Previously, on November 16, the sea tourism route Ha Long (Vietnam) - Bac Hai (China) was opened after the efforts of the two provinces of Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) in concretizing cooperation agreements in many fields, including tourism, which were signed earlier.

It is expected that the Ha Long - Bac Hai cruise route will operate regularly from 2025. In my story, Apollo made it so that Hyacinthus could continue to see the beauty of the world after his death. I did mention this in the mermaid au concept, but I like the concept too much. So in his life, Hyacinthus would have expressed to Apollo his desire to see the world compared with his inability to do so. So when he dies, Apollo turns Hyacinthus’s blood into hyacinths/larkspurs and made them “eyes” to see the world even from Elysium. So if I do flesh out the story, it’d likely be those two traveling around the world and doing little cute couple things. Cameos from other gods and such. Can I draw comics or write? No. Will I ramble about concepts instead? Yeah. I want to see these two on cat island, or touring the Tianzi mountains, or Halong bay, or many other places. I do find it funny that regardless of whether you view Hyacinthus’s blood having turned into a modern hyacinth or a larkspur, both are poisonous.

Day 5 Halong Bay to Hoi An

6:30am was Tai Chi on the top deck. The tour guide became the Tai Chi Master. It had a White Lotus feel to it when we were all repeating a certain tai chi move to the sounds of tai chi music from the guides iPhone (Spotify) until his phone rang and he took the call. Meanwhile we were on repeat of the tai chi move. 😂🙄 He apologised but not long after an advertisement came on. He clearly has the free version.

Breakfast after tai chi and then a visit to a cave. All caves are dry apparently. There are nearly 2000 islands in Halong Bay. Monkeys live on them and some cats. Didn’t see either but we did see big hawks flying around.

We’ve seen lots of girls getting their photo taken with quite the process undertaken to get the right shot. It starts with them looking away from the camera and then turning their head back to the camera with their photo smile on. Here’s Phil practicing.

A quick shower after visiting the cave, then very early lunch on the boat before disembarking.

The rest of the day was travelling! A 3hr coach trip to the airport to board a plane for Hoi A that takes about an hour. Followed by a 40 min coach trip from Hoi An airport to our hotel. Big day and I’m tired!

The hotel is the best yet. Nice restaurant, spa, pool and HUGE beds.

As our last meal was around 10am and it’s now 8pm, a few people went to the hotel’s restaurant for a light snack. I had fresh spring rolls which were delicious.

All the women are very covered up because they don’t like brown skin. They must be so hot! You see them in outfits like the woman below on the motorcycle which includes a hoodie and face cover.

International cruise ships dock in Halong with 4700 passengers

Halong Bay Cruise - On November 12, at Ha Long International Passenger Port, two international super ships docked, bringing more than 4,700 tourists to Ha Long City.

At 8:00, the Noordam ship (Dutch nationality) traveled from Hong Kong (China) to Singapore, bringing nearly 1,900 passengers to Ha Long. Then, at 10:00 on the same day, the cruise ship Celebrity Solstice (Malta nationality) docked with 2,806 passengers.

Most tourists come from Europe and America, and this is also the main group of tourists visiting Ha Long during the annual cruise season.

Immediately after arriving at the port, tourists divided into many groups to visit and explore the beauty of Ha Long Bay and other famous scenic spots in Ha Long City such as Long Tien Pagoda and Quang Ninh Museum. Others chose to travel to Yen Tu National Special Relic Site (Uong Bi City) and Yen Duc Village (Dong Trieu City).

Two super cruise ships took these tourists away from Ha Long the next day (November 13). According to the plan, the Celebrity Solstice will return to Ha Long 4 more times in 2024, expected to bring tens of thousands more tourists to Quang Ninh province.

In Ninh Binh haben wir am ersten Tag eine kleine Tour mit dem Roller gemacht und uns die schöne Landschaft und einen Tempel angesehen. Am nächsten Tag gings auf eine der bekannten Bootstouren am Fluss. Wir haben dort ein richtig nettes Pärchen kennen gelernt und haben den restlichen Tag zusammen verbracht. Die Bootstour war wirklich schön, es heißt in Ninh Binh ist die Halong Bay am Land. Wir sind dort auch 1 km durch eine kleine Höhle gefahren was wirklich beeindruckend war. Mit Julia und Philip sind wir dann noch essen gegangen und zusammen auf den Aussichtspunkt gewandert. Abends sind wir noch Pho essen gewesen und haben ein paar Stunden gequatscht. Die Reise in Vietnam wird wirklich von Ort zu Ort schöner.
