Heyyyy! This is fun so I’m happy to do it! These will be taking place after the events of any given Hakuouki route. I ended up making something a bit softer for you Kazama fans.

Hijikata: Oh….well, that was to be expected. The two of you had been married for hire a while now so of course you’d fall pregnant. His first instinct is to worry about the future of said child. However, he’s sure that you would be an excellent parent. You always took care of those around you and cared deeply for he and his men back in the day- that was pretty good experience. While he is nervous, he’d end up a pretty good dad- albeit a little bit of a tough one. If you have a daughter, he’s notably softer with her. However, he’s very protective of any children he has. Sometimes, they get a little loud and it’s a bit too much for him so he retreats for a moment to compose himself. He’s a bit better when he comes back. His kids will race to cuddle with him and effectively butter him up a bit so he really doesn’t mind them in the long run. He’s wrapped around their little fingers.

Okita: Huh? He’s taken by surprise for a moment but, then, a huge smirk spreads across his face. So, you wanted his baby that bad? He’s glad he could finally give it to you. I kind of think you’d have to be a bit patient with Souji haha. He’d really like to have a cute, little daughter at some point. He strikes me as a girl dad. Like, Hijikata, he’s fiercely protective of any kids he has and of his lover, the parent of them. If someone dares to criticize them to any capacity, they better start running because Souji is going to make them regret it. He definitely would name his son after Kondou, the person he admires the most. He’d want to raise his kid to be a lot like Kondou-San, only for them to end up a lot like Souji in temperament and naughtiness- the universe’s way of getting payback for the many times he’s teased or bullied someone.

Saitou: His face grows so so red. He understands how it happened but he was not prepared for this. His heart beats rapidly in his chest at the mere thought of having a child. He doesn’t outwardly say much about it but he’s incredibly worried that he wouldn’t make a good father. You figure this out, and make sure to reassure him that he’s so fine. Admittedly, you might have to show him the ropes when it comes to caring for a baby’s needs, but he gets the hang of it. He likes to spend alone time with his baby, softly talking to it when he thinks you don’t notice.

Heisuke:

“WHAT?!”

Heisuke is absolutely flabbergasted. He is taken completely by surprise despite his particularly high libido. You remind him what exactly the two of you do when your alone and how he’s not exactly the best at pacing himself- often resulting in….a mess. He goes to protest but then recalls some particularly intimate moments between you too and starts blushing madly. He sheepishly grins and mutters a “congratulations”. Heisuke would be a super hands on dad! He’d probably end up with a good amount of kids- maybe even twins that he proudly keeps strapped to his chest and back when he’s out and about. He’s totally the type to be like “what’s cuter than one baby?” only to spin around and reveal his second one. “TWO babies!” He says excitedly. The guy has a ton of energy and stamina so he can keep up really well with his brood of children. He loves coming home and playing with them, swinging them around in his arms and tossing them into the air.

Harada: This guy was trying to get you pregnant haha. It was something the two of you agreed on after things settled down for you after the war. He definitely was happy to hear that he’s finally be a father, his wish to marry and start a family finally becoming a reality. Sano is a girl dad for sure. I imagine he has a lot of daughters, all of which he’s spoiled rotten. They’re all just so cute and so is his beautiful spouse! He can’t tell them no- that is unless what they want to do is particularly dangerous or bad. He’s very good at getting them to stop crying when they are sad and is always doting on them when he’s home. This doesn’t mean he up and forgets about you, he still sets aside time for you and makes sure to spend time with you whenever he has a moment, much to his daughters disgust. He doesn’t like when boys take notice in his girls- it pisses him off. He doesn’t go out of his way to be scary, just makes it known that he’s watching and that if anything happened to a hair on their head, he’d lose it. He trusts his girls so he tries to let them handle things but in the same vain, it takes a lot of restraint on his part to remain calm when they’re finally being romantically pursued.

Shinpachi: He’d probably have one. He’s definitely surprised and it takes him a second to put two and two together. I think he’d be calmer than expected about it. If anything, you might be more nervous than him. He’s like a big, giant kid himself. He really loves playing with them and carrying the kid around, showing his glorious physique off to you and his offspring. Dude is a total show off to you and his kid- he does everything he can to make them think he’s cool. His kid DOES think he’s cool. He’s the kind of dad that is called “Papa”. He’s a very proud and affectionate Papa. The guy’s a teddy bear and can NOT handle when his kid cries or is hurt. It breaks Shinpachi’s heart into a million pieces and it takes everything in him to not cry right along with them. You tease him about this, softly kissing his cheek and apologizing when he protests. He’s always down to put the kid to sleep, often napping right along with them. His kids (and maybe you) are the only people he’d ever share food with, making sure that they are fed enough to grow big and strong like him.

Sannan: I kind of don’t think he’d have a kid. He isn’t exactly against them but he’s also not too interested in having one. This doesn’t mean he wouldn’t take responsibility for one and also like the one he has. It’s just that he didn’t plan for one. I think though that he’d be okay with like one kid. His kid would probably be very well behaved actually. He doesn’t spoil them but I think he’s spend quality time with them by teaching them things like swordsmanship, calligraphy, and other scholarly things. His kid would be very smart and he’d be very proud of that. He’s kind of scary when he’s reprimanding his kid- especially if they’re being particularly naughty to you, his spouse. He would want many opportunities for his kid.

Yamazaki: He probably knew you were with child before you did. He’s sit you down and explain his suspicions to you and would arrange for a doctor to have a look at you for a secondary opinion. Although, he is certain that you are going to be having his baby. He’s actually not too worried about it. He doesn’t know much about being a father but he does understand the basics about what a person needs to survive a long and happy life so he applies that knowledge to his kids. I’m bringing back the ninja thing and I think he has this game where he pretends to be a ninja yet again and will pretend to slay his children, encouraging them to be active. It’s really funny to watch him chase them around the house and flip the tatami mats from under their feet. At first, you think they’re hurt when they fall on their behinds but you find that your child/children is/are surprisingly resilient. You suspect that it’s because he makes sure they are in peak health. Yamazaki’s main concern is that you and his child are happy and healthy. Other than that, he doesn’t have a lot of harsh expectations for them. Just that they take care of themselves, are kind, and work hard.

Iba: He’s excited. Very excited! Iba (who’s name keeps autocorrecting as IBS, just so you know) He spoils them rotten, a big fan of dressing them up. He also can’t help but pick up toys for them when he’s in town, much to your dismay because they already have too many. Still, he has a lot of fun watching them play as you sit beside him, running his fingers through your hair. He likes holding them in his lap and they almost always fall fast asleep there. It’s like a magic trick he can do. If you’re having trouble settling them down for the night, he intervened and gets them too sleep with no trouble. His kids can somewhat manipulate him in to doing things or sneaking them extra treats. You have to get on him for spoiling them so much but you can’t help but appreciate how much he adores his kids.

Sakamoto: You probably have like one kid with him….and it’s a rowdy little boy. The kid is super wild and is all over the place. He likes to burn ants with a magnifying glass and Sakamoto is supposed to reprimand him for it but he usually ends up doing it right along with his son, finding the kids maniacal laughter amusing. He likes this spicy side of his kid, thinks it gives him character. That being said, the little guy is exhausting to keep up with. He’s always having to chase him down and grab him up from incoming wheelbarrows being pushed by. If it were modern times, you might wanna invest in a leash. He thinks his kid is really funny and just likes to listen to him babble about whatever nonsense his son is interested in at the time. He also entertains his tall tales. However, he will crack down if the kid has driven you a bit too nuts during a day and will send you off to get some much needed rest. You come back to find him scrubbing your kid down after he had somehow became covered in mud. He doesn’t explain how your son got like that, looking rather disheveled. He definitely had a lot of respect for you for raising him.

Souma: He’s over the moon but also Kazue can’t help but feel the weight of the world on his shoulders. He does his absolute best to follow along with your instructions when it comes to raising them. He messes up a lot at first but eventually gets the hang of it. The entire time, he’s in awe of you and your ability to do the things you do. He tries really hard to provide for your family and will take whatever work he can to bring food to the table. He loves coming home to the both of you and kisses all over your faces. He really enjoys being a dad actually and takes pride in how well his child is growing up. He couldn’t care less about the kids interests or dreams, just happy that they have them. Really supportive of everything his kid does.

Kazama: He’s definitely pleased. He doesn’t always act it, but he admires you greatly- especially after truly getting to know you. He smirks and insists that this is just the first of many children. Any worries you might express about becoming a parent are brushed away as he insists that you would be a perfectly suitable mother to his children. He actually doesn’t know a lot about babies and it is eye opening to say the least about all of the things babies need in order to grow. He’s kind of in awe with your ability to keep up with so many things, your oni and motherly instincts really shining as you always seem to know when something is up with your kids. He’s very proud of his children and shows them off all the time, often insisting that they are better than other people’s kids and saying that their parents haven’t the slightest bit of an understanding on parenting. You kind of do most of the work as he believes it’s your place but he will step in to lay down the law if they are being bad. His voice is surprisingly soothing to his children so he will talk to them until they fall asleep. This also can help calm them when they are crying. In front of others, he isn’t too affectionate to them or you but that is a whole other story when you are alone. He likes for you or his children to nap on his lap as he gazes out the window at night. He likes having you all nearby where he knows that you are safe. If someone even thinks about hurting or badmouthing his precious oni wife and children, they’re as good as dead. He actually talks a lot with his kids, something that surprises you. He checks in with them and bluntly asks about their feelings or plans for the future. He’d ask about whatever game they were playing and how it works and he will also intently listen to whatever story they are coming up with. He thinks that this would help build confidence, something that they’ll need as they grow. When they’re older, he’ll probably teach them about their heritage and how to utilize their abilities as oni.

Ahhhh I'm not sure i'm the best to ask about pregnancy HCs, but I do have thoughts on how some of the Hakuouki boys would do babysitting with you! Hope that's an okay substitution 😘

🖤Amagiri- 100% in control. Patient, practiced, kind, he can help babysit kids of any age and will be able to keep conversation with you throughout the intermingling of kids conversations and questions! You'll happily be chatting about what you want for the future while playing your third round of 'Go Fish' with the kids, get asked "Do Caterpillars poop?", and Amagiri will be able to respond eloquently and correctly (yes, a lot, in pellet form much like a small rodent), and then smoothly continue your conversation whether it be "I do hope any future children of ours could inherit my well-defined cheekbones" or "I'm excited to see you progress in your career, I'll make sure to keep dinner warm on the table during your late nights". <3

❤️Sano- He's enjoys being around kids, even if he isn't "the best" at knowing what to do with him. Still, your favorite "date", if you could call it that, was babysitting twin 3 year olds with him. Watching him trying to hide that tall and lanky (begrudgingly handsome) frame behind a kid's sized chair for hide and seek, smiling on and cheering against him as they chased him in circles around the backyard for hours, and hearing the different inflections in his voice for different characters when the four of you snuggled up for their bedtime stories, all created a lasting memory of fun and laughter in your heart!

💚Souma- Fucking it up in the least damaging and hilarious way, which all in all means he does a pretty good job as your co-babysitter, so long as you're there to help clean up the mess. School age kids LOVE him, but they also love to tease and torture him. The kids you babysit together, ages 5 &7, know damn well how to get what they want out of him and con him into playing what they want to play. Homework? No, thank you! It's actually way past the time you were meant to show up for your haircut Kazue! Where do you think you're going?? Sit in this chair! Unfortunately for him, this will not have been the first time one of the kids have snuck a real pair of scissors into the mix and given him an "asymmetrical bob" before...

🤍Kazama- Might surprise some of you with this, but read it through before disagreeing with me! Kazama is fantastic with babies. Would he admit it? Absolutely not. But they love to coo and laugh at his various facial expressions (even his 'serious' ones) as he holds them, and something about his temperament is a true baby-sleep-whisperer to them. He won't forget to slide in comments about how, "It's cute, but ours would be cuter", and reminding you that you ARE betrothed to him and this could be your future soon enough. The cutest part? When you go to put down the baby for a nap, Kazama takes them from you and, a little degradingly, tells you that he "can do it better, you can just take a rest". The walls aren't that thick, so you can hear him lowly singing a lullaby that you'd never heard before to the baby in the rocking chair next door, and you snuggle up on the couch with a cup of warm cocoa daydreaming about your future together <3

Hijikata, Sannan and Souma's Stories from the Manyo no Shou Stellaworth Booklet

Souma's story takes place in Ezo!

(I can’t believe this is happening…) 

I secretly sighed as I beheld a nervous Yukimura Chizuru standing right next to me. 

Yukimura’s room had a leak, so she had to stay in one of the soldiers’ rooms for the night. Souji found it amusing, and he said, “Why don’t you let her stay in your room, Hijikata-san? She’s your page, after all”. In the end, I couldn’t refuse and agreed to let her stay in my room. 

“Um… Hijikata-san, are you sure this is okay? I don’t mind sleeping in my room, actually…” 

Yukimura said that hesitantly, but… 

“If I send you back to that room now, who knows what Souji will say. My room may be a little cramped for two people, but just bear with it for one night.” 

“N-no, I don’t mind the space…! I’ll lay out the futon.”

After her swift denial, she started laying out the futon that Yamazaki brought here earlier. 

“Hey, I can do the futon myself…” 

Before I finished my sentence, Yukimura already laid out both of our futons. She’s always good at this kind of thing. 

“Well then, let’s go to bed, then.” 

“Y-yes!” I heard Yukimura’s nervous voice. 

“…Just so you know, I’m not going to do anything weird just because we’re sleeping in the same room. I’m not that desperate to lay my hands on you.”

I said that to reassure Yukimura, but…

“I-I understand…” 

Yukimura’s reply sounded like 70% relief and 30% disappointment. 

(Wait a minute. Why does Yukimura sound down after what I said? I only said that to make her feel better.) 

As I was thinking, I realized something and said, “…And don’t get me wrong, it’s not like you’re not attractive or anything. I said that only because of my current position and how the situation is.” 

“A-ah… Yes! I understand.” 

The voice that answered me sounded a little relieved. 

(Why does she feel relieved by my words, anyway? Does she somehow want me to see her as a woman? ……No, she would not think like that.)

 I thought so to myself and said, “I’m turning off the light.” 

“Ah, yes!” 

After hearing Yukimura’s reply, I blew out the oil lamp. 

The room was enveloped in darkness and became very quiet. 

After that, I got into the futon, but it was still the time of the night when I usually worked, so I couldn’t fall asleep, but tossed and turned all the time. 

“Um…” 

From the other side of the darkness, I heard a hesitant voice. 

“What is it?” I asked.

“Are you really glad to let me stay in your room, Hijikata-san? If I didn’t stay, you could have focused on your work.” 

“Well, while that is true, it’s okay to have a day like this once in a while. Yamazaki and Shimada also tell me to go to bed early sometimes.” 

“…I see.” 

“Yeah. So don’t worry about it and just go to sleep. I’ll arrange for the leak to be fixed tomorrow.” 

“Thank you very much.” 

After hearing her words of gratitude, the conversation came to a halt and only the sound of her breathing could be heard. 

(Even though she kind of lives in confinement, she’s always concerned about us.) 

As I thought so, I finally felt sleepy and closed my eyes.

“Sanna-san, are you awake? I've brought your meal."

Hearing the voice from outside the shoji door, I paused the writing that I had been doing.

"Yes, I'm awake. Please come in."

In response, the door quietly slid open, and Yukimura Chizuru-kun stepped into my room.

"I'll leave your meal here…” she said as she placed the tray with food in the corner of the room.

At that moment, a small yawn escaped from Yukimura's mouth.

"You seem tired. Did Hijikata-san give you a lot of errands to run again today?"

"Uh, I'm sorry! Actually, Hijikata-san didn’t ask me, but I volunteered. After all, I'm always grateful to all of you for your help."

"I see. You're still as kind-hearted as ever."

I spoke what was on my mind while continuing with my writing. She seemed slightly puzzled, tilting her head in wonder.

"Kind-hearted... you think so?"

Yukimura didn't seem entirely convinced, but then she seemed to think of something.

“If you don’t mind, please have your meal before it gets cold.”

"I'll have it once I finish this paragraph. Don't worry."

I replied without turning around, continuing with my documents.

It seemed that Yukimura-kun was sorry to disturb me, and she fell silent.

Time passed, and after a while, I thought, "Shall I take a break now?"

Setting my pen aside, I turned around.

"I apologize for making you wait. Shall I have the meal now? ...Oh?"

Perhaps tired of waiting, Yukimura had fallen asleep while leaning against the wall. She was breathing softly.

(If she was sleepy, she could have gone back to her room... Unless she wanted to hear my thoughts on the food?”

For a fleeting moment, I considered waking her up, but I was reluctant to do so when I saw how peacefully she slept.

"I can't let her catch a cold, and maybe I should cover her with something."

With that thought in mind, I draped my robe over Yukimura's body.

Then, I began to eat the meal placed on the tray.

Although the food got cold for a bit, Yukimura's cooking was still impeccable.

"It would have been better to eat it while it was still warm."

As I pondered, Yukimura’s eyelids slowly opened, and our eyes met.

After a brief moment, she seemed to have finally taken in the situation.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I just fell asleep..."

"It's okay. You can go back to sleep. I'll wake you up when I'm done."

"But..."

“Just have some rest. Is that okay?”

"Yes, thank you, Sannan-san."

She said bashfully and closed her eyes again, beginning to doze off.

Looking at Yukimura-ku peacefully asleep like some kind of small animal, I continued with my meal.

“It's snowing again today. I can't help but feel gloomy thinking that I'll have to shovel snow again tomorrow."

As I gazed at the silently accumulating snow outside the window, I spoke.

"That's right. I was prepared for this, but I didn't expect that winter in Ezo could be this harsh."

It had been nearly half a month since we had come to Ezo in pursuit of Vice-Commander Hijikata. While the bitter cold and the snow confined us indoors, which could be frustrating sometimes…

(Still, it's been a while since I've enjoyed such peaceful days.)

Just as I was thinking so, something caught my attention.

"Huh?"

I noticed something and paused.

"What's wrong?"

“Senpai, your hands..."

Perhaps due to the usual chores, Yukimura-senpai's fingertips were bright red from frostbites.

"Oh, this? Don't worry about it. It'll heal if I apply some medicine," Senpai replied with a smile, but I took Senpai's hand in mine.

"Souma-kun?"

Senpai seemed a little surprised, but I held Senpai's hand in both of mine and rubbed it between my fingers.

However, since my own hands were cold, Senpai’s hand wasn't warming up.

"I-It's fine, Souma-kun. I'm okay."

Perhaps out of concern for me, Senpai said that, but...

“Please let me take care of you, Senpai. I've been causing you trouble all along."

"..."

Senpai seemed bashful.

After rubbing our hands together for a while, warmth finally returned to Senpai's hand.

“I think I’m fine. Thank you."

Saying that, Senpai let go of my hand and turned away shyly.

"I should go back to my room soon. I need to get up early tomorrow.”

Senpai began to leave the room.

"Wait, Senpai!"

I inadvertently grabbed Senpai's hand to stop her from leaving.

"Um... could you stay a little longer? I... I would like to be with you a bit more, Senpai."

Senpai seemed a bit surprised by my words, her eyes blinking.

"Oh... Of course, I didn’t mean anything weird! I mean, I just thought it would be nice to chat more and spend time together! Of course, if it's inconvenient for you, I can understand..."

As I stumbled over my words, Senpai gazed at me with a somewhat bashful expression, but...

"Is that so..."

Senpai murmured. I thought I detected a tinge of disappointment in her tone, or perhaps it was just my imagination?

But before I could voice my doubt, Senpai smiled and said...

"Well, I felt the same way, actually. So, let's chat a bit longer, shall we?"

With a gentle smile, Senpai said those words.

Hakuoki Shinkai: Manyou no Shou All New Shinkai Characters CGs

Which Hakuouki character is more likely to never have romantic feelings for anyone at all?

October 1866, a few new people had joined the Shinsengumi during the summer. Among them was Kazue Souma and Risaburo Nomura, they are to became Kondou’s pages. Another young man had also joined, Tetsunosuke Ichimura, who has become Hijikata’s page. Along him was Tatsunosuke, his older brother. The brothers were both taken in, though with how young Tetsunosuke was, there was a bit of resistance until Tatsunosuke convinced Kondou and Hijikata.

Chizuru was to be in charge of teaching them how to do their job, being she’s Haruka’s page. Of course, none them knew she was a woman as her pretending to be a male.

“Yukimura-senpai?” Souma said. “Is this tea alright?”

“Ah, well..It might be a bit too hot.” Chizuru said.

“Oh. I guess it is hot today..” Souma looked down at the tea.

“So what do we do? Water it down? ” Nomura asked.

"I-It will lose flavor that way, Nomura.." Chizuru pointed out

"Ah, right..." Nomura tilted his head back thinking.

“What about cooling it down with well water?” Tetsunosuke said.

“Oh! That’s smart!” Nomura looked at the younger boy in delight.

“Ah! Wait!” Chizuru said. “It doesn't have to be that cold, just a little warmer than room temperature.”

“Oh, yeah, you’re right. Hmm…” Tetsunosuke crossed his arms to think.

That’s when they heard footsteps. “I see we have new members.” The four of them turned to see Haruka.

“Haruka-san! You’re back!” Chizuru said. “Did things go well?”

Haruka sighed. “It bared no fruit, I’m afraid. I thought it was worth the trip but it seems it really was too good to be true. Sorry, Chizuru.”

“Oh..I see.” Chizuru then put her hands together. “Ah, I should introduce you!” At each them, Chizuru introduced the boys to Haruka. “These are new pages. Kazue Souma, Risaburo Nomura, and Tetsunosuke Ichimura. Souma and Nomura are Kondo-San’s page. Tetsunksuke is Hijikata’s.”

Haruka put a hand on her hip. “Oh? Didn’t think Hijikata would take a page for himself.” She then smiled at the three. “I’m Haruka Shinomi. And Chizuru is my page.”

“Sorry but I wasn’t aware the Shinsengumi let women joined.” Souma said.

“Yeah, thought it was just men.” Nomura said.

“I’m not part of the Shinsengumi. I’m an Okuzume working with them.”

“O-Okuzume!” Nomura said.

“Shinomi…” Tetsunosuke thought for a second. “Ah! The Icy Okuzume!? Then you are Shinomi-sama!” The three boys then stepped back.

Haruka caught on to the young boys words and kept them for later. “No need to be so formal.”

“W-We don’t?” Souma asked.

Haruka shook her head. “No. Not at all.” She then looked at Chizuru. “Did Shigeru give you any trouble?”

“Not at all.”

“Wait..that baby is yours?” Nomura blinked at Haruka.

Haruka just nodded her head. “He is. I’m married to the 10th division captain, Sanosuke Harada.”

“This…is a lot of information to take in.” Souma said.

Haruka chuckled. "Well, you'll get used to it. Along with other surprises the Shinsengumi can come up with.... Anyway, Chizuru, how do you think their doing?"

Chizuru smiled. "They're eager to learn and get along well. I've been teaching them what I know, like serving tea and how to attend to Hijikata-san and Kondo-san."

"That's good." Haruka said. "Guess you're actually a good teacher. And for you three," she turned to Souma, Nomura, and Tetsunosuke, "I'm available for advice if Chizuru can't help you with something."

"Thank you, Haruka-senpai," Souma said, expressing gratitude.
