Unhinged theory:
Sanemi has some form of anxiety
Let me explain:
We all know Sanemi is depressed but I think he has some kind of anxiety disorder too. The evidence is based on two categories:
Sleep Deprivation
Anxiety & Stress
Sleep Deprivation
For this point, I made the diagram below(yes, I have no personal life 😔).
The main symptom that supports the sleep deprivation theory is his bloodshot eyes. Sanemi's eyes are always bloodshot and he always has eyebags, even when he's in a relaxed state (you can tell because his 'eye dots' are larger) which could be an indication of lack of sleep.
His scraggly hair could also be a symptom because aside from Giyuu (who has depression) he's the only Hashira that doesn't seem to take care of his hair.
Another observation I made is that Sanemi is always leaning on something or hanging on something. He also puts his chin on his hand/palm, I do that when I'm tired too.
Or sometimes, he hangs on to his belt.
It seems like a stretch but he does these things often and he's the only character -that I know of- that does this. It could just be a character quirk though, due to his ghetto upbringing.
He's also the only one visibly tired after the training session between him, Obanai, and Muichiro.
I noticed in the first episode of the Hashira Training Arc right after the Infinity Fortress trial period expired and he ended up stabbing the floor, he immediately sat down. Why? Seems like a weird thing to do .
Then there's all the wobbling he does in the mansion while fighting the demons.
Anxiety & Stress
The evidence for this has to do more with his behavior and actions, especially his anger and impulsive decisions. Most people associate anxiety with fear which makes sense but anxiety can also manifest as anger too.
From the article linked below,
Anxiety causes anger for several reasons. At its peak, anxiety can cause overwhelming emotions and thoughts that make you lash out in an attempt to regain your sense of power in a stressful situation.
Anxiety as anger can be triggered by:
Flight-or-fight response - when he feels threatened
Emotional exhaustion - from his past trauma and loss
Perceived loss of control - encounters with Tanjiro(bestest boy ❤)
Cognitive distortions - his belief that he's a monster, that he has to shoulder things by himself etc.
The perceived loss of control I feel is a defining factor for the two drastic decisions he's known for:
Stabbing Nezuko – A Corps member has been harboring a demon. In his mind, the Corps has been infiltrated, and Tanjiro’s probably been feeding Nezuko people.
Trying to poke Genya’s eyes out – His brother has been eating demons. He probably fears that Genya will turn into a demon and then he will have to kill his only surviving family member. Or that Genya will die early if he continues eating demons and fighting.
When it comes to stress, he displays the following symptoms:
Irritability
Anger
Grumpiness
Always on edge
Restlessness
Impatience
His impatience with others and with himself, with him trying to get the mark as fast as possible also points to anxiousness. His white hair too! He hair probably turned prematurely grey due to environmental stress, taking care of his family, worrying about keeping them safe, his violent upbringing and probably lack of nutrients from food because he would most likely have his younger siblings eat all the food instead of him.
So everything is all tied together. His anxiety from past trauma contributes to his present anxiety which prevents him from getting proper sleep and increases his stress levels which leads to even more anxiety.
But how does he fight and stay so alert then?
I think his anxiety disorder is high functioning plus he takes a lot of matcha tea which has caffeine. His constant eating of ohagi probably also keeps him hyper too.
Another piece of evidence that solidifies my theory is the appearance of his eyes in the last chapters.
Probably had that sleep he hadn't gotten in years.
In Conclusion, our boy Sanemi has some form of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and is highly stressed due to lack of sleep which is why he acts and looks like a crackhead. He needs some sleep and possibly to get laid.

Got any 🐯👻 headcannons?
I've got a million, but here's a bunch of ones related to them cuddling/being physically intimate with each other and not just because my next tigerghost fic is a make-out fic
Manny is more clingy than Danny is and usually the one to initiate affection.
Danny is slightly uncomfortable with pda, but also low-key touch-starved.
Manny picks up on this (any honestly any small change with Danny's mood) without being explicitly told so and keeps his hands to himself while they're in public. But because he's clingy by nature, he still does things that can fly under the radar like bumping shoulders, sitting next to each other a little closer than normal friends would, or discreetly reaching out and holding/squeezing Danny's hand when he can do so without being seen by others.
All bets are off when they're hanging around HQ or hanging out with friends. Manny pretty much always has his arms around Danny's waist or is draping himself across Danny in some way like an over affectionate cat. Danny lets him because he feels more comfortable around friends than strangers in public (and again because he's touch-starved and secretly enjoys the contact, but will never admit it openly).
It's a rare occurrence for the others to find Manny and Danny in the same room and more than three feet apart from one another because of how they are.
When they're completely alone (away from friends/family & HQ), Danny becomes just as clingy/touchy as Manny is. He specifically likes to play with Manny's hair and will trace the outlines of Manny's scars with his fingers.
Manny likes the fact that Danny's body temp runs colder (due to his ghost powers/ice core) because it reminds him of one of those self-cooling pillows, so Manny will regularly doze off on Danny whenever they're cuddling.
They fall asleep on the couch more regularly than a bed, mostly because Manny will conk out within minutes of their cuddle sessions and Danny can't bring himself to wake his sleepy tiger.
Typically, Danny is the big spoon when they sleep on the couch (because that way Danny's arms are still free to watch tv/read/play with his phone) and if he has the energy and motivation to wake Manny up and move the both of them to bed, Manny will be the big spoon there. However, neither really has a preference, that's just how it ends up.
Danny has a severe case of insomnia that he's tried to cure countless times. It's a result of a lot of things like generalized stress and anxiety, but a large part of it is his trauma of dealing with Dark Danny/Phantom. He's constantly having an existential crisis about what he would do if he ever ended up in a similar situation. It's partly why he never branched out from Tucker and Sam for his friend group back home, because it opens up him up to the possibility of more loss.
His insomnia isn't miraculously cured once he and Manny get together (like it sometimes is in other romances). Sure, holding Manny while they sleep does help a little bit and it's pretty nice to have someone he loves by his side when he wakes up and falls asleep. But now, Danny spends more of his time on those sleepless nights just taking in everything about Manny's existence. He's spent hours listening to the way that Manny breaths when he sleeps (and snores), observing all the little and subconscious movements Manny makes, just committing everything he can to memory and it makes him feel calmer.

Sama Tbeil is a young Palestinian girl from Gaza who lost her hair due to the trauma she endured during the ongoing Israeli aggression. After being displaced with her family from Rafah to Khan Yunis, Sama started noticing her hair falling out, which she now attributes to the extreme stress and fear caused by the shelling and gunfire. Her hair loss has led to emotional distress, as she faces questions from other children about her appearance. Sama wishes for her hair to grow back and hopes to find proper medical treatment, but the ongoing blockade and lack of medical supplies in Gaza make this difficult.👇😥💔

lost in the forest - part 35
Masterlist
Summary: It's often the smallest mistake that ends up causing the greatest regret.
Pairing: Senju Tobirama/Original Female Character
Tag: #lost in the forest fic
posted on ao3
Word Count: +4k
I finally finished my final exams (if I pass all of them) so now I should have more free time to write. Thanks for
Overall warnings: canon-typical violence, adult content, time skips, angst
The wedding will take place on a huge patio right in the middle of the compound. The standing decorations are so different from every event she has witnessed so far with her busy schedule.
Karen has to admit that things are noticeably over the top. There are white flowers everywhere with large matching lamps, along with a forum in the background among various chairs.
Traditional, like everything in this culture.
“Wow... they really applied themselves,” she comments as she carries a pot with similar flowers in pale colors whose meanings in this reality indicate prosperity and a good future for the couple.
Kaori looks just as ecstatic, so focused on everything going well that she smiles sideways.
“Yes... This is the first wedding. It is not every day that the clan leader does not get married.”
“Well, yes,” the civilian laughs at the point given by the old woman. The flowers are placed right in the middle of the forum. “Is there going to be some kind of priest?”
“Oh... well, we shinobi do not have religion, but for these events the priest of the temple was already brought by escorts,” the old woman explains.”
“Escorts?”
“Yes. Young Tobirama-sama was among them. He will not take long to arrive so do not worry,” she laughs amused, hitting her shoulders. Her hands hurt from the effort, but she doesn’t complain.
She is used to hard work... especially when working in the garden.
Karen keeps up.
“Ka-ne!” Someone hugs her on the knees. Little Matsuo greets her with a wide, adorable smile that melts her, even if he shortens her name due to the lack of pronunciation of the ‘r’.
“Oh, little one... you should not do that. You could make her fall,” the old woman scolds, noticing her loss of balance. From the mockery of the other children who accompany him, she assumes he’s playing with a group his age.
“Don’t worry, Kaori-san. I didn’t fall.”
“You are a civilian, not a kunoichi like the others,” the old woman frowns now looking at her and then at the child. “So, consider it, Matsuo-kun.”
“Y-yes.” He looks embarrassed, with a gesture worthy of someone who is taking on a tough mission.
Being a civilian on these occasions is annoying... they treat her as if she was going to break.
“I’ll be fine,” the woman says ruffling the boy’s hair. “Your Oka-san?”
“She is... with Oba-san,” the boy blinks twice. “She... why is she so sad?”
“MMMmm...” Karen sees that her friend has reached the peak of her traumas. Even she couldn’t sleep the night before just remembering that it would be full of drunk people.
Tobirama gave her a list of warnings that she made sure she didn’t forget.
“She... just needs time,” the civilian assures, squeezing his shoulders. “That’s why you have to help her feel better... by being good.”
“Uh...”
“What else is happening?” the older woman tilts her head, seeing that something else is bothering the child.
“She... does not want me?”
“She loves you. Why do you say that?” she questions because Mikami was always firm in her love for her son, despite his conception.
“She... was talking... yelling at Oba-san... about... Ryu... and me.” He blinks innocently. She assumes that the tension in the family has come to a high point as a result of the post-traumatic stress that the weight of the event and so many redheads around entail.
“She’s just tired... but she wouldn’t say anything bad about you.”
“Uh...”
“When she gets better and you get older, maybe she will talk to you about it.”
“Karen-san,” the old woman warns with an audible sigh next to her. She had remained on the sidelines for some time but there are still things about the culture that they are willing to hide. The child blinks between the two. “Go finish helping the northern area, Matsuo-kun,” she orders drily.
“What did I say?” she asks just when it is certain that the kid is gone. The civilian sometimes does not understand the hindrances, like when Madara’s visits are at her house... something that the old woman points out when there are no men at home.
An overreaction from her point of view, because it’s just work and the old lady is accompanying her, isn’t she?
“You should not tell him that. Mikami-san... she should not say anything.”
“But... the kid will eventually find out. It’s better if it comes from her.”
“His family... is important for the development of the child according to the traditions of the family,” the old woman explains firmly, speaking about a topic that was putting off the truth.
“Kaori-san, that’s something Mikami should think about.” Karen is firm in her point of view. “The boy is aware of things, and that man’s family should not demand anything else of what they have already taken from her... he raped her.”
“Do not say that,” the old woman shushes. “Sometimes, your type of thinking is so complex,” she snorts indignantly to start walking. “I hope that will be fixed just when you marry into the clan.”
“I don’t think so,” the girl assures, not caring if she’s spoiling her companion's existence. Outside of her traditionalist thoughts, she is a good person.
She just puts a lot of effort into making her do things she’s already starting to take on.
Like marrying her off, for example, although that was more of a matter of Hashirama and political pressures.
──
She has heard that Mito faced large numbers of men in certain jobs, that she sometimes leads important meetings with her father as one of the few women who hold an active position in bureaucratic society.
However, she can’t help but laugh when she sees her in a nervous state when she goes to see how she was before the wedding started.
She is looking in the mirror, standing there with large headdresses matching her beautiful braided red hair and a completely white yukata with luxurious embroidery. She had seen it hanging since it was finished, but seeing it put on, Karen notices that the curves lift it up.
She chuckles as she enters. “Mito-san, don’t be so nervous,” she says standing behind the woman who doesn’t take her eyes off her reflection.
“I am not.”
“You are.”
“Alright, yes,” the redhead sighs, turning to face her. “I... what if he does not love me?” she questions harshly as if she knew her answers.
“He does,” she shrugs because she knows the man is in love with someone, and smiles seeing her friend’s surprise. “Just be confident.” Completely misinterpreting the romantic interest of said leader in favor of his fiancée.
Wrong... but she doesn’t push herself in observing.
“But...” She looks at her reflection again. “I... I am afraid it is not true.”
“Why do you say that?” Karen asks, not knowing that she was moved by her security. It wasn’t that bad last night.
“I talked to him...”
“Oh...” She doesn’t say anything, because she wasn't aware of that part.
“He said...” she sighs longingly. “That he would try to do everything in his power to make sure I am happy.”
Karen resisted the urge to slap herself in the face just for the stupidity of a groom saying those things hours before his wedding. What was going through the leader’s mind? Was the nerve messing with him? She doesn’t know because she hasn’t seen him, which makes her question his logic.
“What...” she stops talking to look at her. “You... have you ever fallen in love?” she questions, remembering what exactly the happy boyfriend said to her days before.
“No,” she quickly answers. “I never took an interest in that.”
“But now you are getting married,” she frowns doubtfully at her prompt response. Her mistake... so she sighs to take the hand of the person staring at her.
“Not until I met Tobi,” she laughs at the blatant lie with a certainty of being faithful to what she is saying. “It can seem foolish, something that came out of nowhere... when I wasn’t looking for it.”
“Oh...”
“It was never my goal. As I told you before, it just happened.”
Mito looks at her for a long time. “What if... Hashirama is in love?”
“...”
“Not with me.” After a slight silence, the redhead releases her to gaze at her. “Would you... do something against me?”
“What do you mean?”
“I told you before... about the danger that you represent,” she then accepted with confidence in a tone different from the friendly one she had used until now, more similar to that first meeting.
Where she was clear with her comments.
“You are my friend.” She tries not to feel offended by such an argument. “One of my closest ones here.”
“Mph...” she snorts ironically. “He... I do not know...” She keeps some comments to herself, searching for something in her eyes. “I guess nothing has changed since then,” she mocks.
“Huh?”
“For being older... sometimes, I do not understand how you work, from what I see.”
“Don’t doubt your fiancé... not now.”
“I know you told me so... only now I do not know what to think.”
“...”
“I... I will be a Senju...” she states with a fire in her eyes. “I will love him... with all my heart.” She looks into her eyes. “Come what may,” she says with a double tone that is not usually understood by the civilian, who smiles.
“That’s the best thing you’ve said so far.” She tries to lighten the atmosphere with said comment. The woman laughs to see how her assistants begin to enter to put the finishing touches, while she leaves to finish putting on her yukata.
With a strange feeling about it.
What exactly did Mito mean?
──
The yukata is so different from that of her own event. It is more subtle and modest in soft tones that enhance its foreign features, paired with simple headdresses that do not stand out too much, so as not to overshadow the bride.
“Wow... you look good,” someone calls just as she steps out. Seeing Madara all dressed up is notable, being a special guest as a friend of the groom.
“Thank you... you combed your hair.”
“So early and yet so aggressive.”
“I’m not aggressive,” the girl complains about his out of place comment, but it was noticeable and the first thing that came to her mind when she saw that always wild mane of hair a little more subdued, as she walks towards the exit. Her escort has not come so she assumes Tobirama will be a little late.
Considering his mission to bring the priest, it makes sense.
“Perhaps,” the man makes way with his biting accent.
“So?”
“Well... so direct.”
“You are not.”
“A little,” the man mocks without losing his sarcastic rhythm to continue along the way. “I just wanted to know if you wanted to give words of support to the groom... he’s nervous.”
“Uh?” She blinks at the comment.
“What?”
“It’s nothing. I just didn’t think you were really worried about him... it’s adorable.”
“I’m not worried about him?”
“Really?”
“Forget it,” the Uchiha complains with a bitter look. His steps are soft considering the one who walks slower than any of the trained shinobi in that place.
He does that sometimes, when he has things to ask about reports and things like that, which tells her how important this is.
“I’ll go see him...”
“Will you?”
“Yes. How nervous is he?”
“...You will find out,” the man shrugs with a hidden tone.
“What are you planning?”
“I’m not planning anything,” he assures.
“You silence tells me otherwise,” she tilts her head. “I hope you don’t ruin your friend’s wedding.”
“I won’t ruin it...” He whispers that last part in a very shinobi way that she doesn’t hear well, which makes her frown. “I just know that he’s too stupid to take what he wants.”
“He’s not stupid, he just sees the logic,” she shrugs. “Love is that complicated.”
“Mph... that’s nonsense.”
“I don’t think so.”
“Of course... tell that to the idiot.”
“Uh?”
“Don’t ask. You know, I don’t know how to measure your intelligence sometimes.”
“So I’ve been told,” she says, not at all offended and accustomed to the bitter man’s direct way of speaking. “However, you’re not here to give me compliments, but to ask me for help. Do you want me to bring him something?”
“...Like what?”
“Water to help calm him down or tea.”
“Nah, your presence is enough to make him see his...” he sighs. “The bastard is very idiotic. Seriously, I don’t know how he doesn’t dare.”
“Madara-san, you are saying strange things.”
“No, I’m just desperate that he’s such a moron.” The Uchiha looks at her. “But I hope this clarifies his ideas,” he shrugs walking among the people who begin to take their places. Karen sighs... “Won’t you becoming with me?”
“No,” the Uchiha accepts cheekily, standing at the beginning of the hallway that she knows well leads to the Senju’s office. One that Tobirama usually uses since the former sometimes works in the neutral office.
“Seriously, I know you’re onto something,” she frowns at the shameless laughter of the infamous Uchiha leader. There is no one there since many of the guards or assistants are outside receiving the different guests. Same with the Uzumaki. They are all anxiously awaiting the beginning... the confirmation of their pact.
She walks a little more, approaching the door. “Hashirama?” she hesitantly questions standing at the edge of the door. She hears a thud inside that sets the alarm to enter. “Hashirama?!” she blinks, seeing the man blinking at her with a strange surprise in his eyes.
It is fortunate that he is dressed up, although she sees that the final yukata is almost in place.
“Wow... Madara-san told me you were nervous, but I wasn’t expecting this,” Karen accepts, carelessly approaching to help him, but the man was already up as soon as she closed the distance.
“That idiot,” he growls reluctantly to look at her. “I... you shouldn’t be here.”
“I know, but he assured you that you were anxious, and he wasn’t lying. You still haven’t finished getting ready!”
“I only need the last yukata,” the man laughs with a tension in his shoulders.
“I know, I’m underestimating your shinobi skills,” the woman mocks. “But you know... this is your day, your wedding!”
Hashirama doesn’t say anything. He purses his lips, turning to take the yukata and arrange it to his shape in the blink of an eye. “Ready!”
“Show-off,” she complains, as it took hours for her to get ready, and her makeup was more moderated this time. The man’s amused laugh resonates after days of not hearing it.
That makes her blink twice as a phantom tensions in his shoulders disappears.
“What?” the man asks before her gaze.
“It’s been a long time since I heard you laugh like that,” the woman states. “You know... everything will be alright, seriously.” She approaches him, hitting his chest with confidence. She sees those eyes analyzing her.
“I... I’m not nervous about the wedding?”
“No?”
“No,” he accepts easily. “I’m just... doing it out of my duty.”
“Don’t say it like that. Mito-san loves you,” the woman complains, sighing and watching how the man has the nerve to caress her cheek slowly. “Hashirama? ...You shouldn’t do that,” she hits his hand easily.
Although it does not move since her strength is zero next to his... the sensations are disturbing and uncomfortable. “Hashirama?” she insists due to the man’s little interest in walking away after such a strange move.
She may be over 30, but she wasn’t expecting this.
Not from a young shinobi.
“I... will always regret it.”
“Don’t say that...” She feels bad for Mito at the harsh words of the confused groom.
Karen attributes his wrong behavior to the pressure of the wedding.
“I’m saying it to you,” the leader chuckles, happy that she didn’t walk away. Karen frowns wanting to question such an attitude. However, she freezes just when the male hand stops on her cheek and his thumb traces her lips delicately, feeling their heat... She steps away scared with her alarmed thoughts.
Karen doesn’t blush but she stands there, not knowing how exactly she should react.
It’s easy to take her distance when the man is so distracted in his actions, looking at that hand with a pitiful smile for whatever thought is passing through his mind.
“I have never seen you so nervous,” the man says with a light mockery to smile cheekily. She blinks processing the so out of place comment, as if it were coming from someone who’s playing a bad and practical joke on her.
She wasn’t aware of such a strange sense of humor.
Karen feels her fury increase by that demonstration. Nevertheless, she stops from saying anything when the man kisses the thumb that was previously touching her lips. She does nothing... she remains frozen for what is not said.
Blinking hard at who continues to admire her.
“Don’t worry... I’ll never do anything to harm you,” the man assures her given her uncomfortable face and tense silence. He approaches but she takes a step back for safety and dignity.
She keeps her distance from him in case he does anything else... for her friend! For himself!
“I won’t ask you to treat me the same either.”
“Hashirama... What’s going on in your head?” she questions with a harsh, reprimanding tone.
“Everything... and nothing.” He looks sadder than before, which makes her feel sorry for a few light seconds and it’s reflected on the woman’s face for such words expressed by the man.
There is silence. The people outside the premises are oblivious to what is happening inside that room, where Karen wants to ignore and pretend that this did not happen.
And this weakness in friendship that the civilian has is taken advantage of by the shinobi, who dared to make use of his speed and appear in the blink of an eye right in front of her.
He grabs her face and carelessly presses his lips against hers in a matter of seconds. Karen feels scared... alarmed by such an action from the always noble man, whose friendship helped her survive all this time.
She never expected this. She wants to move away just when the offending tongue searches for something in hers, expanding a feeling she had never experienced before. Biting him was a firm idea in her head, but she stops just when he releases her, eager for more. His breathing is light, and he doesn’t walk away with her face still in his rough hands.
She feels the callus... the warmth that once comforted her transforming into absolute confusion, wanting to get out of his grip without any success despite those confused seconds.
Karen uses her hands as an obstacle that is ignored when another kiss is delivered, passionate and disturbing. She closes her eyes out of inertia at how suffocating it’s starting to get... it lengthens pitifully until it ends in a soft movement.
Those bright eyes reflect her... and Karen just remains silent with the palpable wetness of their exchange. He cleans her, his fingers passing beneath her lips carelessly.
“I will never do anything to hurt you... I apologize for that; I just needed it to endure what is coming.”
“Hashirama... You...?”
“What are you doing?” someone knocks on the door. Seeing Tobirama was something she didn’t expect to see, with a gesture of salvation. The man was already next to her, carefully pushing her away. “Hashirama!” he warns dangerously.
“It’s alright... I... I’m sorry about that.”
“You...” The albino frowns.
“It’s time to go... I think Mito is waiting for me, right?” The man laughs lightly, putting on a happy mask just when she saw the frustration, the sadness being blatant at the fact of not being able to take what he wants.
Was this what Madara was referring to?
“Karen?” Tobirama takes her out of her thoughts. He sees her lost and doesn’t know how to react... because she sees her anger in those red eyes with something else that she now doesn’t bother wanting to express.
“He...” she tries to say but she just wants to cry.
“You are an idiot,” he sighs, noticing his mistake, uncomfortable with her reaction in spite of having already seen her shed tears before.
“I... I didn’t think...” She feels so sad about this... something that was easy to see, being thrown like that in her face without a care.
“It is not your fault,” he sighs without leaving her side, still dirty... even with his ninja uniform and blue armor, his face reflects all the frustration and emotions that he would not normally express.2
Karen just hugs him; her only lifesaver in the sea of emotions that she didn’t know how to express. She had never experienced this... that is why she avoided love! Because it is so complicated, confusing and it takes away your sense of security.
Will she be able to look at Mito’s now? How will she work with Hashirama? “Y-you knew,” she accuses just to get away from the albino man who sighs, not feeling guilty. “YOU KNEW!”
“You were the only one who didn’t,” someone says from the background. Madara watches firmly.
“This is your fault.” Tobirama now shows part of his irritation to whom he gives a half-hearted smile.
“You know why I did it.”
“You had no right.”
“It was his decision, Tobirama,” the Uchiha carelessly accepts and looks at her. “But I see... that this is more complicated than I expected...” He sighs disappointedly and leaves, not feeling any remorse for what he did.
Karen feels so stupid. She covers her face, not wanting to go outside, but she is carried by a bitter Tobirama. “...?”
“You need to have your makeup fixed.” The albino takes her out quickly, squeezing her into his armor. It’s been a long time since she was carried like this. She sighs, trying to act normal when Kaori sees her.
“What happened?!” She looks at her with accusation. “It took me so long to put on your makeup!”
“She looked pretty,” Tobirama explains carelessly, making the old woman look at them with different eyes. Karen would turn around in surprise if she weren’t so bitter about what happened. Many are no longer in the house; people begin to walk away, gathering where the wedding will take place.
She doesn’t want to go, but she sees that the albino will wait for her until she finishes doing her things because his presence is important due to the political wight, especially with the last-minute arrival of the Daimyo.
Kaori looks excited about her non-existent grandchildren as she quickly fixes her makeup. She stays quiet, like a robot, not knowing what to express about this whole matter.
Worse than a bad meeting, than a bad project... than her confrontation with the council.
She closes her eyes so that her eye shadows can be adjusted. Her thinking is chaotic as she clings to the hand of a silent Tobirama. What should she do with what she found out? What did Hashirama gain by putting her in this predicament?
Seeing him get married wasn’t painful... but knowing that Mito wasn’t loved was.
This is not what her friend expected. She purses her lips, remembering her nervousness. She already suspected it... but how did she not notice?
“Do not think too much about it.”
“Easy for you to say,” she bites angrily at who remains at her side. Both of them are at the front, speaking in whispers that she is sure are not being heard.
“Just leave it.”
“Mph...” She would like to say more things, but she just stays silent. She looks into the distance, not focusing on this whole event and hoping this is just a phase. Her heart hasn’t shaken her... but her concern about losing a good friend has.
Hashirama... he deserved to be happy, but not with her.
She doesn’t love him.
A/N: As you will see, it will be difficult for Karen to pretend that everything is normal now that Hashirama realized that he was not loved by her. He does not want to force her, nor does he want to force her to respond to his feelings when he was never clear.
It was more of a desperate outburst of his own heart that made Hashirama decide to steal a kiss from her, clarifying that now... his heart had no owner. He was hurt and he is sure he will make Madara’s life miserable for this... but it served to continue with the original plan, with a warm sensation on his lips that gave him even more anxiety.
Tobirama knew about it, and even if he felt irritated, he didn’t say anything else when he saw her so affected. His brother is usually considerate, but he sees that he underestimated the love he has for her. He didn’t like seeing her like that... so he acted like her shadow all night, warmer than before. This had been the reason why he didn’t want them to see each other. Especially alone.
Madara, on the other hand, wanted his friend to stop being so idiotic, but he didn’t count on Karen not loving him. It’s hard to know what that woman is thinking... she’s not like the others.
Earning the hatred of both Senjus.
Mito knows that something happened, but she keeps quiet. It’s her day... and she should be happy.
Thanks for everything.

(There’s a fun exercise for expelling negative energy in bold font at the bottom if you don’t have the time or energy to read all of this)
I’ve been trying to live my life by the seasons more… such as shopping for seasonal crops, decorating my home festively, changing my altar with more regularity, following the moon and different celestial periods more carefully, celebrating holidays and practicing rituals instead of letting them pass me by, preparing myself and my space for upcoming changes, and fully immersing myself in different activities for the current weather… ✨so✨I decided to have a little Mabon celebration last night even though I’m in the middle of a chaotic move and torn between three places.
I spent all day methodically cleaning and preparing my new space, which was both coincidental and intentional because I’m unpacking boxes and cleansing myself of stuff I don’t need and organizing the things I do need in an aesthetically pleasing but functional way. And when I tuckered myself out I went into the backyard (yay, I finally have a yard 🥺🙏🏻) to commune with nature and eat wild apples while keeping an eye on my exploring housecat. Then I made an eggplant, cauliflower, bok choy, ginger, and green pepper stirfry to enjoy with my sister and her boyfriend (and he made onigiri which was so so tasty), and we drank witches brew and watched the live action One Piece and it was really cozy and cute. But now I’m getting to the part I’m really excited to tell you about! It starts out a bit sad but gets good, I promise.
I have a lot of old trauma that’s manifested itself in awful ways into my body such as chronic pain, chronic nausea, vagus nerve issues, and crippling anxiety, and all of this has recently culminated into the worst my health has ever been. Unfortunately, I was so deep in medical debt from surgeries, doctor appointments, medications, natural remedies, coping devices, therapy appointments, and disorder testing for almost 10 years (which sadly amounted to neither answers nor reprieve), that I couldn’t afford more care or to take time off so I could try to heal, so I was not only still suffering but feeling completely hopeless. On top of all of that, I just went through half a year of horror because I moved in with an old, dear friend who turned out to not be so dear as I thought and he was manipulative, moody, narcissistic, codependent, judgmental, filthy, and disrespectful of my boundaries, so my hair was falling out in clumps due to stress and I wasn’t taking care of my body because I was genuinely afraid to use the bathroom, kitchen, and other living spaces. This friendship loss was really discouraging because I’ve had to let go of both of my best friends this calendar year as well for reasons I don’t want to go into, but let’s just say that they were both habitually selfish, inconsiderate, and emotionally immature, so even though I love them and miss them terribly I had to move on. As if that were not enough, my job was taxing physically, mentally, and emotionally, and was not respecting my scheduling or disability boundaries, and because of staffing issues I felt obligated to work these ridiculous 12+ hour shifts because no one else could or would. All this to say that I felt like a broken-down, miserable, rotten, and weary version of myself and had lots of bitterness, hopelessness, negative energy, and old trappings to release myself from; so moving into a new space right at the change of the seasons would be a perfect time to do it!
What I decided to do when I went back home after dinner was write a list of things I wanted to expel, and I encourage you to do so as well! This can be bad habits, old mentalities, feelings of self-doubt, relationships that no longer serve you, just anything that’s holding you back from the life you want to live. I noted where I would experience sensations in my physical body as I wrote these things down (for example, as I was writing to you above about these friendships, I felt an ache in my chest and a burning sensation in my arms and throat), because that’s where the body is internalizing these feelings and where you’ll have to do extra work in the release process. Now it’s time for the fun part!
First, I played Shake it Off by Taylor Swift and danced, focusing on literally shaking off the old energy from parts of my body where I was experiencing negative physical sensations. I think this song is a great place to start because you can feel pretty silly doing this at first, but the whole vibe of this song is “who cares about looking silly and who cares about what the haters think”. I’m kinda my own biggest hater and have a ton of self doubt, so I actually had to go for a second round of this song until I started feeling comfortable enough, and hey, that’s okay!
Once I got into the grove, I played Dust Me Off by Tilly & the Wall and continued to dance, shake my body, and dust off all the sadness, fear, doubt, anger, hurt, and anxiety that I’ve been holding on to for so so so long. I’m allowed to forgive myself for old transgressions. I’m allowed to move on from ancient painful memories. I’m allowed to put down old habits, feelings, friendships, and places and open myself up to new ones!
Now that I was really releasing, it was time to get spiritual with Shake it Out by Florence Welch. I shook, I spun around, I flailed, until I cast off the “devil on [my] back” and let myself sway to the end of the song. It was cathartic, it was healing, it was soothing, it helped me work off that cookie I had after dinner, and afterwards I had a really wonderful sleep and woke up feeling more empowered to take on the day.
It was such a good exercise that I wanted to share it with everyone and I will definitely be revisiting it next time I’m feeling stagnated, overburdened, or depressed. I’m going to continue in the spirit of Mabon today with a little bit of tea, meditation, and maybe even decorating my altar with some early-autumn leaves, so don’t feel like it’s too late to try this just because Mabon was technically yesterday. 😊🍁🧡
And p.s. Feel free to message me other songs about shaking out the old or dusting off bad feelings. I’m inspired to make a playlist.
P.p.s. It’s in a little bit of a different vein but I just remembered Sweeping Spell by Faun Fables, which is about sweeping out old energies and cleaning up your home while you prepare for the dark season. 🧹🧹🧹
P.p.s.s. I first learned about releasing trauma through physical movement when reading The Body Keeps the Score, but that book is a bit tiresome and the author is a problematic old man, so I will post a list of better books to read on the subject soon 💜💜love yous and I hope you experience more peace after doing this!

Lupin’s hair was flecked with grey, and he looked ill and exhausted.
Due to the stress of his transformations? No, I have to disagree. Look at Fenrir Greyback. Turning into a werewolf every month and does he look at all old and frail?
So why had Remus aged prematurely?
Because of grief. Extreme grief.
That fateful Halloween night of 1981 destroyed the lives of many people. James and Lily died. Sirius temporarily lost his sanity. Voldemort nearly died. Snape nearly sought death too. Plus the 12 Muggles who never made it home. And Remus? All his friends, gone, just like that. Forced to accept the fact that a friend he loved was apparently a traitor. And somewhere mentioned that his mother had passed away around this time too? What else could he do but try to flee as fast as he could from the excruciating grief?
Everyone cheered for the fall of the Dark Lord, but Remus’s heart had broken. Broken into a thousand pieces, broken completely. The emotional pain he endured is far worse than any physical trauma from lycanthropy. Unlike Sirius, who lets his hatred and desire for vengeance shine through his eyes, Remus turns all the turmoil in towards himself, always calm and gentle and soft-spoken on the outside. The loss of all his friends, having Sirius back only to lose him again, and his heartbreakingly considerate personality are what made him look ill and exhausted.
Moonlight shines upon the earth
Yet gone forever are his friends.
How cruel is this world?
Please never come back again.

okay im genuinely curious, no malice just want to hear your thoughts — what makes cat a better romantic partner for hunter than willow?
Okay, so I let this sit for a few days because I wanted to think on it and I think I have a boiled down baseline for why I think Cat's personality would make her a "better" partner. Whereas Willow's baseline is self-sabotaging, Cat's is self-sacrificing. And no, that's still not good or healthy, but rather than someone who's own insecurities bring down and affect the people and relationships around them, it's someone putting another person or persons well-being above their own. Cat and Willow both bottle up their emotions, but for example instead of the culmination of a struggle being something like Willow being so upset that she upset Hunter that he basically wasn't even allowed to grieve Flapjack because he had to put everything aside and help her, what actually happened in our canon being that Cat is worried so much about Hunter being okay that she eventually has a full breakdown revealing how she feels useless for not being able to save him (and in result, Flap sacrificing himself) when her whole job is y'know, saving people, hunting things, blah blah. If she couldn't even protect her boyfriends- much less being unable to stop one getting possessed again- what was she good for? So like I said, still not anywhere near a healthy mindset, but what I'm trying to get at I guess is that Willow's issues are very self-focused & internal- not to say she's selfish, far from it!- and that being in a relationship with someone like that would be extremely damaging for Hunter when the result of those issues severely affect your personal relationships and the people around you because for a lack of a better way to explain it, self-sabotaging behavior like Willow's is "I'm feeling miserable and by God I will bring down everyone around me because I'm punishing myself whether I mean to or not". Cat has a slew of other issues, but I digress.
And on the other hand, we know what Willow is like when she is in a good place. She's extremely self-sufficient and self-reliant. She loves her friends, she find humor in most scenarios, and she's kind- but that kindness only extends as long as you're deserving. And by that I mean, understandably, if you are a jerk to her or her friends & loved ones she will switch on you in an instant. That's not a bad trait, it's good boundaries in a way! But we've already seen on screen how Hunter handles stress and loss- by snapping and yelling and grabbing and anger and grabbing his hair. It's a children's show so we of course won't on screen see a reaction to that, but tell me that with Willow's personality she wouldn't react negatively to that? She's quick to anger and if Hunter is struggling with a stressful situation by snapping or yelling I can't see Willow not being black and white and ending it immediately. Hunter being in a relationship that he feels could be constantly unstable would wreck his mental health. We know he has trauma being replaced or dropped on a dime for things that were not even his fault- being in a possibly insecure relationship due to his trauma would be majorly damaging for him imo. Hunter needs someone he can rely on, someone just as loyal as he is to them. Which lines up pretty well with Cat's fear of abandonment as well. Plus, from what we've seen of Hunter, he shows a lot of his love through caretaking and protection, and we know (aside from poor writing to force Hunter and Willow interactions in show) that Willow is extremely self-sufficient and prefers to take care of herself and others. I just genuinely can't see both of their needs to protect others not clashing with the other's "can take care of myself" attitude. Not to mention as I sort of did prior that Willow's whole arc is about standing up for herself and gaining confidence. What good would having a boyfriend that's whole thing is "want to protect you" do for her? They just. Don't. Mesh. As friends? They're awesome. They can rib each other, joke, ply sports together. But them trying to be in a romantic relationship would absolutely ruin it for each other. It's like in highschool when you think you're in love with your best friend, so you two try to date and then you're all awkward and antsy around each other and nothings fun anymore until you both just go "Hm. Can we just be friends, this isn't working".
On the opposite coin- Cat gives Hunter that need fulfillment of being a sort of protector despite Cat also being able to stand up for herself. She's loud, brash, and most of all she's reckless. Yes, she may have a kill count, but there are plenty of times she's gotten herself into a situation she can't get out of due to overestimating her own strength or size. Take on the Golden Guard in a dark alley? No problem! Get's knocked out and kidnapped. Run headfirst at a Rougarou? Sure! Is thrown into a tree and killed. Shout profanity at a 400 year old puritan man in the Titan's skull? Absolutely! Is saved from being impaled with a quarter of a second to spare by one of the boys. Stop Kikimora from hurting her family and friends? Definitely! Is only saved from being squashed like a bug by Hunter's powers awakening. You get the picture. And on top of that, she carries the Winchester's family values. She is ride or die almost to a fault. Hunter having a meltdown where he's snapping and shouting wouldn't have her bat an eye. She's already decided where she wants to be and who she wants to be with and she'll be damned if anything he could do would change her mind.
And finally, a big reason is timing. Cat, Dip, and Hunter got together before season 2 would have even aired. Before we would have even seen Hunter on screen as the GG. They meet just a few days prior to Separate Tides and are already slowly becoming romantically involved right before Hunting Palismen. They get together when the stakes are still low. Before anyone has died, before anyone is grievously injured, before anyone is changed irreparably whereas Hunter doesn't meet Willow until he's already begun questioning the Emperor's Coven. He already has that seed of uncertainty and potential threat. And the very next time he sees her, he's just recently fled the Coven, is hiding and scared for his life, has found out he's not even a witch, but some other created thing. How is that scenario grounds for starting a healthy, non co-dependent relationship? Had they met earlier, had time to develop a healthy crush without the loads of emotional trauma happening one after the other, maybe. Maybe they could've been a good, non-toxic relationship. But that's not what happened. With Cat, they started dating before he even began questioning Belos- the humans being part of the reason he does in our canon. It's starting from a place of earned trust with time and interactions to get to know each other and catch feelings. With time for them to be the ones to get Hunter out of the Coven after Belos injures him again after Eclipse Lake (you know where the Collector says he almost "lost it on him"? Yeah. Supported by our canon where he actually did). They have more time and reason to form a bond rather than playing Flyer Derby and being cordial with each other one time. In all honesty, any way you look at it- Hunt//low is more of a detriment story-wise than two characters, noncanon to the show dating Hunter would be.

OC time!!
i have recently recycled these babies so they’re not like,, fully fleshed out lol but I wanna talk abt em anyways!! A lot of this is going to be chalk full of spoilers for my rewrite if I ever get around to actually writing it, so be warned!! they’re mostly small details tho so it’s not too huge but still
@the-tismification-of-aaron-lycan
Della:
phys desciption: human, avg height, curvy and muscular hourglass build, moroccan, curly blonde hair (always covered by a hijab, her favorite of which is golden rod yellow), brown eyes, late teens/early 20s, her “signature color” is rust orange
Juror during Zane’s tenure, one of the only jurors not handpicked by Zane, although he did obviously have a say in her getting the position. She doesn’t have a confirmed jury title yet, but her temp title is Crystal Vision
Magics user with the ability to see into the future. due to her age + other factors her ability to control said magics is somewhat limited; she has very little control over how far forward she sees and visions tend to come to her at random rather than her intentionally making them happen (not to say that she can’t induce visions). she also tends to accidentally induce visions when she becomes stressed or overwhelmed
the magics came mostly naturally, more of a gift, and now that she’s reached a point in her practice where she actually needs to work at it she’s at a loss. on the path to magical gifted kid burnout
she has very little family and no friends from childhood, growing up with only her mother. They lived in a smaller, very religious town not far from Okhasis, and as such she grew up deeply religious
By nature she is very kind and compassionate albeit timid. However the rarity of her magic garnered a lot of negative attention, and a lot of people tried to find ways to use her for it, often through cruel means. As such, she has become anxious and paranoid
in terms of trying to use her the Jury/Okhasis is no different, something she didn’t realize until it was too late. She hates being in the Jury, but is too afraid of what might happen to her and/or her mother if she tries to leave
her story ends during the 15yr timeskip, when she is tried and executed for treason on account of not being able to predict/prevent Zane’s disappearance.
Elliott:
phys description: werewolf, tall, somewhat lean but sturdy inverted triangle build, central european, messy dark brown hair, black eyes, mid 30s, his “signature color” is eggplant purple
Corinne’s husband and Lia’s father
Juror during Zane’s tenure, recruited thanks to the interference of his wife Corinne. He has no particularly strong feelings about Zane, the Jury, or any of their questionable morals; for him it’s really just a job. His Jury Title is Wolf’s Bane
He doesn’t use any weapons, in human form or wolf, but Corinne does provide various potions and elixirs to boost his attacks, which he often takes advantage of in the form of poison-tipped claws
He’s been essentially disowned by his family after he was turned, and he has learned to “accept it” (*cough* repress it *cough*). Even if they refuse to associate with him, he has a mother, father, and three younger brothers. He originally hails from a very small farming-central village in the south of Ru’an, went on the run for years after being turned before meeting Corinne in Okhasis, where he settled.
He’s very cocky and self-assured by nature, definitely kind of an asshole. All the trauma of being turned and disowned left him bitter and angry, traits he has to this day. He doesn’t have a whole bunch of positive qualities lol
He does love his wife wholeheartedly though, as well as his daughter. Everything he does he does with his family in mind. He wants to be better to them than his family was for him, and often that ends up with him stubbornly believing everything he does is right (bc he’s doing it for them and if they argue then they’re ungrateful etc yall know how this goes)
his story ends during the 15yr timeskip; he gets killed in the line of battle during the war with Tu’la, loyal to his nation and family til the very end
Corinne:
phys description: witch, avg height, curvy pear-shaped build, vietnamese, straight dark orange hair, brown eyes, early 30s, her “signature color” is wine red
Elliott’s wife and Lia’s mother
Not a juror, but very closely connected to Zane, the Jury, and other Okhasian nobility through her husband’s juror status, something she enjoys taking advantage of
she is native to Okhasis, coming from a semi-noble family, not super high in the politics chain but well above the average citizen
Her dream was to be one of the “top dogs” in Okhasis, if not the entirety of Ru’an. She got this from her mother who had a similar goal.
Marrying Elliott was something more akin to an investment for her; she saw that he had potential and pushed him to reach for something greater (the jury), ultimately raising her own status drastically
She is incredibly selfish and vain, caring for no one but herself. She gets away with it by being manipulatively charming
During the timeskip very little changed in terms of her goals. at some point she figured Tu’la was likely going to take over, she abandoned everything and swapped sides, working her way up in Tu’lan society. She is currently remarried to a well respected Tu’an general
Cordelia/Lia:
phys description: werewolf, tall but not as tall as her father, lean rectangular build, mixed (european/vietnamese), curly dark orange hair, brown/black eyes, 7(s1), 22 post timeskip, her “signature color” is rose pink as a child and dusty rose as an adult
Daughter of Elliott and Corinne
Her parents were deeply involved in the Jury and Okhasis politics and struggled to give her the attention she needed; as a result, she was never very close to them (plus a million other mental health issue lmao)
Feels responsible for her parent’s wrongdoings despite not having a hand in any of it. As an adult she chooses to travel the world and right her parent’s wrongs wherever she can
Her father dies and her mother abandoned her shortly after the war started. She learned to fight and survive, barely escaping Okhasis in hner early teens alongside many other orphaned and abandoned children that she helped along her way
She’s about the same age as Abby; they weren’t close as children due to their parents not getting along, but their paths cross again in adulthood and they briefly become travel companions. They’re still not close, but they’re not enemies, so she counts it as a win
She actually has an awful crush on Abby in adulthood, but it isn’t reciprocated (yet?)
After parting ways with Abby she finds Mikai, and begins working with him and helping Tu’la refugees
Violetta:
phys description: human/mage, fairly short, chubby build, chilean, curly black hair, violet eyes, mid 20s, her “signature color” is violet (go figure lol)
something of a bounty hunter, willing to do increasingly awful things if given enough money
One of her earliest assignments was to murder Zane. She ended up failing, and was given a new assignment by him in exchange for her life (to remove a certain juror from the equation). She now is offering unofficial aid to Tu’la, who are using her to continue picking off uncooperative Ru’an nobility.
she specializes in magic that can bend light, creating optical illusions and more impressively turning things (and herself) invisible, a trick she utilizes for her job
she has a very laidback personality, very intelligent and sly but always keeping a very relaxed and often very charming demeanor
though she would never state it, she originally comes from falcon claw, her family relocating the the eastern edge of Ru’an shortly before falcon claw is decimated
Her family is nothing to write home about, both parents and her little brother are alive and well in eastern Ru’an. She’s on good terms with all three of them, but rarely visits and refuses to tell them what she does for work (she’s afraid of them reacting poorly)
she wholeheartedly believes the story about Aaron being responsible for the falcon claw massacre, and her desire for closure/revenge is partially why she become involved in bounty hunting. despite essentially dedicating her life to finding him, he has always managed to elude her, so much so she’s not even sure he’s alive
By the time of the timeskip she’s become more focused on her work + her own survival more than anything else, and no longer has that drive for vengeance
#this took me way too long lol but!!#it's oc time!!!#these are just kinda general concepts for the charas i think smth to help me get my shit together yknow??#n e ways while may be my ocs i am more than happy to share if given to proper credit#i love sharing <3#if you have any qs abt these guys lemme hear em!! :D#also would like to point out that the race/ethnicity things i added for each chara are obviously the real world equivalent?#i don't believe any of our countries exist in mcd#hope thats not too confusing <3

Finding The Best Treatment For Hormonal Imbalance
Are you noticing a loss of muscle mass, hair loss, breast tenderness, or gynecomastia? If so, it could be a symptom of hormonal imbalance. It is common in women during puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, and aging. But men are also affected by it due to medications, stress, injuries, trauma, etc. Treatment for Hormonal Imbalance is necessary because it can cause health problems like cholesterol, osteoporosis, obesity, etc. In this situation, you should consult a doctor, check your hormonal state, and get medications if needed. However, there are other ways to control hormonal imbalance as well. Wondering what these methods are? Then, stay tuned with this blog till the end.
Reflexology Therapy
The first treatment for hormonal imbalance is reflexology therapy. It’s a technique that involves applying gentle pressure to specific points on the feet, ears, and hands to promote wellness in the overall body. If you are facing hormonal imbalance due to high stress, Reflexology promotes relaxation and stimulates endorphins. Reflexology creates a suitable environment for your body to regulate hormone production. So, visit a professional reflexologist. For instance, Jasmine Reflexology provides the best Reflexology in Chicago at affordable prices.
Healthy Fat Consumption
High-quality natural fat reduces insulin resistance and appetite, which can promote hormonal imbalances. So, it is a good treatment for hormonal imbalances. Omega-3s reduce inflammation and insulin sensitivity. Also, omega-3s help the body control cortisol levels during stress, which is a major hormone for hormone imbalance. If you don’t know the sources of healthy fats, consider adding nuts, seeds, fatty fish, avocado, leafy greens, eggs, etc.. They are loaded with healthy fats and other nutrients, such as protein, magnesium, vitamins, etc.
Intake of Fiber
If you wonder how you can naturally treat hormonal imbalance, consider increasing your fiber intake. Fiber increases insulin sensitivity, which plays a key role in hormonal imbalance. It also decreases your appetite, and as overeating can cause this situation, high fiber becomes another ideal treatment for hormonal imbalance. Some foods high in fiber are seeds, lentils, fruits, etc.
Avoiding Overeating
We said in the above point that overeating can cause hormonal imbalance, but how? After eating, the leptin hormone tells you that your tummy is full and regulates your appetite. Overeating can disrupt this hormonal cycle and make you eat for pleasure rather than energy. So, if you are looking for a natural treatment for hormonal imbalance, avoid overeating. Overeating will also raise the risk of obesity, affect brain function, and cause problems like gas and bloating.
Regular Exercise
Regular exercise is essential for people who want to know how to treat hormonal imbalances. It’s because physical activities increase hormone receptor sensitivity, meaning it enhances the efficient delivery of nutrients and hormone signals. A major benefit of exercising is reducing insulin levels, which can cause hormonal imbalances. Also, exercising is essential to staying fit and healthy, and it has become a great natural treatment for hormonal imbalances.
Adequate Sleep
“Sleep is an investment in the energy you need to be effective tomorrow”- E. Joseph
Guess what? It’s 100% true, but adequate sleep is also important for how to treat hormonal imbalances. Poor sleep can imbalance major hormones, such as insulin, cortisol, leptin, ghrelin, HGH (Human Growth Hormone), etc. So, if you are looking for a treatment for hormonal imbalance, you must maintain a good sleep cycle. A person should sleep at least 8 hours daily, but it can differ according to age. For example, newborns must sleep around 14 hours a day.
Massage Therapy
Last but not least, massage therapy is a good solution if you wonder how can you treat hormonal imbalance. Like Reflexology, massage therapy will relax your body, promoting pleasure hormones like endorphins. It will also decrease stress, which is a common cause of hormonal imbalance in this fast-paced life. So, massage therapy is worth considering as a treatment for hormonal imbalances. Are you confused about which massage therapy to take? Aromatherapy is an ideal option. The essential oils used in this therapy can quickly influence hormonal responses and help you in this situation.
Hormonal Imbalance: Exploring The Best Treatment
In this blog, we listed Reflexology Therapy, Adequate Sleep, Avoiding Overeating, Healthy Fat Consumption, Intake of Fiber, Regular Exercise, and massage therapy for hormonal imbalance. Every solution for hormonal imbalance serves you with additional benefits. For instance, Reflexology will also improve your sleep quality and boost your immune system. We would say you should utilize more than one solution to balance your hormones and start living a healthy life as before. Comment in the section below and let us know how you liked this blog about treating hormonal imbalance.

Does your workout routine affect your hair loss?
Adequate exercise is a key to a healthy lifestyle. It keeps your weight in check, gives you more energy, brightens your mood, and promotes restful sleep. But too much of a good thing can sometimes backfire, and your gym routine is no exception. While regular exercise is great for your overall health, including hair, pushing your body too hard can have opposite effects. Overtraining can lead to physical and mental stress, which might cause hair loss. You should know everything about your working out and its effect on your hair. Should I Stop Gym Workout to Save My Hair? The short answer is no—exercise itself won't cause hair loss. However, neglecting and not taking proper care of your body while working out can lead to hair loss. The positive side is that hair loss due to bad exercise habits or techniques is usually temporary. How Exercising Causes Hair Loss? Are you chopping calories aggressively? While it can be effective for weight loss, nutrient deficiencies can occur if your exercise routine depletes your body's nutrients. Your body will lack proper replenishment. The body prioritises vital functions on low fuel over non-essential ones like hair growth. Since hair growth isn’t crucial for survival, it often takes a backseat. When you exercise, sweat accumulates on your scalp, clogging your hair follicles. This can stop the follicles from producing normal, healthy hair strands. To prevent this, wash your hair and scalp after a workout. It cleans the follicles and promotes normal hair growth. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is an androgen produced from testosterone. Higher levels of DHT in the body can make hair thinner and more brittle. The hair strand lifecycle shortens, causing hair to fall out more quickly. When DHT circulates in the bloodstream, it sticks to hair follicle receptors, causing them to shrink. This shrinkage prevents the follicles from growing healthy hair. Conclusion Hair loss and thinning due to exercise are usually temporary. However, if you believe other culprits are behind your hair loss, get professional help. At Keva Hair Care, we specialise in treating all types of hair loss, no matter the cause. Moreover, all our treatments fit your needs, preferences, and wallet. Our expert doctors will perform a hair and scalp analysis and discuss various options to restore your full head of hair. Contact us today to schedule your hair analysis! FAQs 1. Should athletes or active individuals worry about hair loss from exercise? Ans: No, any reasonable amount of exercise, including daily routines or training for events like a marathon, will not cause hair loss. Stay fit and in shape. It's important for healthy hair, too. 2. Can exercising stop Hairfall? Ans: While exercise can't reverse baldness, it lowers stress levels and can accelerate common hair loss conditions like male and female pattern baldness. Intense stress or trauma may suddenly lead to the development of Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disorder. 3. How can a balanced diet benefit men experiencing hair loss? Ans: A balanced diet improves health and reduces stress and anxiety. It improves the scalp appearance. Foods rich in zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin E may help the body grow hair more effectively.
If you want to make your hair look great again, Keva Hair Care can help. We have the best treatments and give hope to many.

Advice for the younger ones on here!!
There’s a micro community on here and Tiktok that’ll show weight loss/hair loss/other unhealthy symptoms and claim it’s because “they’re in love” or that it’s “love stress”
IF YOU EVER experience this while in a relationship I urge you to leave that relationship (if you are not safe enough to leave alone please reach out to the DV hotline or SH hotline) that is not love that is quite literally your body shutting down due to the stress and trauma.
I fell victim to that narrative and ended up nearly being hospitalized.
I lost weight and was nearly put on a high protein diet because of it, I was dealing with menstrual bleeding for three months and even more serious symptoms.
The right, healthy person will not bring on those symptoms!!!

Everything One Needs To Know About Hair Fall
Every hair follicle's hair growth cycle concludes with hair fall. It usually goes unnoticed when hair growth and shedding are balanced. However, it becomes an aesthetic concern when hair loss is extensive and sudden, without accompanying hair growth. Such difficulties affect anybody at some time and may intensify with age. It may be transient or permanent. Those suffering from hair loss and wish to seek treatment can find the best hair fall treatment in South Delhi. We'll get into more detail later, but first, let's review some basic information on hair loss and its causes.
What are the Signs and Symptoms of Hair Fall/Loss?
The indications and symptoms of hair fall or loss differ between children, men, and women.
Anyone who has combed their hair may discover many strands in the shower drain, pillow cover, or hairbrush. These are all indicators of significant hair loss.
When males experience significant hair loss, they may see thinning hair on their heads, a receding hairline, or baldness in a horseshoe pattern.
Women may present with generalized hair thinning or loss, particularly at the crown of their heads.
Among children and young adults, the signs of hair loss include rapid falling out of a patch of hair or frequent hair shedding following certain medications, medical conditions, stress, significant weight loss, and many more.
What are the Causes of Hair Fall?
Hair loss can occur owing to a variety of factors, including:
Family History: Men and women with a family history of hair loss are more prone to suffer from androgenetic alopecia, also known as pattern baldness, an inherited disorder.
Hormonal Changes: Variations in the levels of male and female sex hormones in an individual during reproductive health events such as pregnancy, puberty, or menopause can all cause hair loss. Prolonged usage of oral birth control tablets may cause hair loss due to a decrease in estrogen and an increase in androgen hormone levels. Thyroid issues can also produce hormone fluctuations, which impact hair follicle growth.
Stress: When a person is physically or emotionally stressed, their cortisol levels rise. Excess cortisol causes abrupt, patchy hair loss, a disorder known as alopecia areata.
Nutritional deficiencies occur when people do not consume a balanced diet on a daily basis. If their diet is weak in key vitamins, minerals, and proteins, their hair will grow poorly, and existing hair strands may fall out quickly.
Poor Environmental Conditions: Daily exposure to contaminants in the environment can cause hair breakage and loss.
Scalp Infection or Trauma: A head injury or a ringworm infection on the scalp can cause hair loss.
Some Medical Treatments: Treatments for cancer, such as radiation therapy or chemotherapy, can cause temporary hair loss.
Underlying Medical Illnesses: Medical conditions, such as arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and cardiac problems, might increase the likelihood of hair loss.
Medications—Certain medications, such as mood stabilizers, antidepressants, antifungals, acne medications, beta-blockers, cholesterol-lowering pharmaceuticals, thyroid medications, and hormone-containing therapies, can cause excessive hair loss.
Traction Alopecia: This hair loss is caused by tight hairstyles that pull the hair, causing it to split and come free.
Heat Hairstyling or Chemical-based Hair Treatments: Some people often style their hair with hair dryers or straightening equipment. Others may have chemicals used to dye their hair. If they are done frequently or excessively, they can cause hair loss.
Poor Hair Care Routine—Many people have poor lifestyles and are unwilling to take good care of their hair. They may utilize hair care products that weaken and damage hair follicles, leading to hair loss.
What are the Ways to Treat Hair Fall?
DermoRita Skin Clinic, an advanced skin and hair clinic, provides innovative, effective, and cutting-edge treatments under expert supervision to properly control hair fall or hair loss difficulties. The doctor recommends the following top hair fall treatments:
PRP Hair Therapy- Platelet plasma, or PRP, is a blood component that is extracted by centrifugation from the patient's blood. It contains natural growth hormones and vital proteins, which are said to help mend bodily tissues. When a PRP solution is created and injected into areas displaying signs of hair loss, it can stimulate hair follicles to generate healthy hair and even assist in protecting the health of existing hair.
To achieve the best effects with this therapy, a person would need many PRP treatment sessions spaced out over a few weeks, followed by one monthly session to maintain new hair development.
Mesotherapy for Hair- This treatment targets the factors involved in natural hair growth. It involves injecting a combination of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, vital amino acids, botanical extracts, and some hair growth-promoting drugs into the scalp's mesoderm at the hair loss region. Hair mesotherapy can improve blood circulation to the scalp, boost cell metabolism, and stimulate hair growth from existing follicles.
Dermaroller—There is some evidence that hair loss sufferers can benefit from using dermarollers. Dermarollers are medical devices with numerous microneedles on their surfaces. They are rolled over the area of hair loss or loss to produce several skin pricks at once. They promote healthy hair development by boosting the blood supply to the scalp.
Growth Factor Injection: This is a scientifically proven, more advanced treatment for hair loss and the greatest option for PRP hair therapy. The procedure includes injecting natural growth factors and vital proteins into the hair roots to boost healthy growth. These concentrated growth factors are extracted from the patient's blood by centrifugation.
FUE Hair Transplant—This is a surgical hair restoration treatment best suited for people who suffer from permanent, severe hair loss and seek a permanent solution. In the Follicular Unit Extraction hair transplant method, a surgeon harvests individual hair follicles with a micro punch device and places them one by one in micro-slits made in regions of hair thinning or baldness.

Hairfall and dry hair are common hair concerns that many people face. Finding the right shampoo that locks in moisture and strength is crucial for addressing these issues. In this article, we will explore the causes of hairfall, how to identify dry hair, and the relationship between hairfall and dryness. We will also discuss key ingredients to look for in shampoos, tips for selecting the right shampoo, additional hair care tips, and product recommendations and reviews. Key Takeaways Choose sulfate-free shampoos to prevent further drying of hair. Look for shampoos with natural oils and proteins for added moisture and strength. Consider pH-balanced formulas to maintain the health of your scalp and hair. Regular trimming helps prevent split ends and breakage. Deep conditioning treatments are essential for nourishing and hydrating dry hair. Understanding Hairfall and Dry Hair Causes of Hairfall I've often pondered over the question many of us face: Why is my hair falling out? The causes of hairfall are numerous and can range from genetic factors to lifestyle choices. One of the most common causes is androgenetic alopecia, a hereditary condition that affects both men and women. Hormonal changes, such as those experienced during pregnancy, can also lead to temporary hair loss. While it's natural to lose some hair every day, excessive hairfall can be a sign of underlying issues. Other factors contributing to hairfall include stress, nutritional deficiencies, and certain medical conditions. It's important to understand that hairfall is often a multifactorial issue, meaning that it can result from a combination of causes. Genetic predisposition (androgenetic alopecia) Hormonal changes (e.g., pregnancy, menopause) Stress and emotional trauma Nutritional deficiencies (lack of vitamins and minerals) Medical conditions (thyroid disorders, anemia) Certain medications and treatments Identifying Dry Hair Recognizing dry hair is crucial in addressing both hairfall and overall hair health. Dry hair often feels brittle to the touch, and it may appear dull or lack the sheen of healthy hair. I've noticed that when my hair is dry, it becomes more prone to tangling and breakage, which can exacerbate hairfall. Lack of elasticity or flexibility Split ends or frizziness A rough texture when running fingers through When I run my fingers through my hair and it feels rough or it tangles easily, it's a clear sign that my hair is lacking moisture. It's important to understand that dry hair can be a symptom of underlying issues. For instance, it could be due to environmental factors like exposure to sun and wind, or it could stem from heat styling and chemical treatments. By identifying the characteristics of dry hair, I can take the necessary steps to find a shampoo that will help lock in moisture and reduce hairfall. The Link Between Hairfall and Dryness I've come to understand that the relationship between hairfall and dryness is more than just coincidental. Dry hair lacks the moisture and elasticity needed to withstand daily stresses, leading to breakage and, ultimately, hair loss. This is a cycle I've seen not only in my own hair care journey but also echoed by many others. Poor hair care practices can strip hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness and fragility. Stress and a hectic lifestyle contribute to both a dry scalp and weakened hair roots. Nutrient deficiencies, particularly a lack of vitamins and minerals, can manifest as dry, brittle hair. Hormonal imbalances and certain medications are also known to cause both dryness and hairfall. It's essential to address both hairfall and dryness together, as treating one without the other may only provide a temporary solution. A holistic approach is necessary for long-term hair health. Key Ingredients to Look For Natural Oils and Their Benefits In my quest to combat hairfall and dryness, I've discovered the profound impact of natural oils on hair health.
These oils not only lock in moisture but also provide essential nutrients that strengthen the hair from root to tip. Coconut Oil: Renowned for its deep penetration and hair repair abilities, it's a staple in my hair care routine. Olive Oil: I use this for its conditioning properties, which leave my hair soft and manageable. Argan Oil: A go-to for protecting my dyed hair, it adds shine without weighing it down. Jojoba Oil: Mimicking the scalp's natural oils, it helps in balancing oil production. The right blend of oils can be a game-changer for anyone struggling with dry and falling hair. It's not just about moisture; it's about nourishing the hair and fortifying it against future damage. I've learned that while individual oils offer specific benefits, they often work best when combined. A synergy of oils can address multiple concerns, providing a comprehensive solution to hairfall and dryness. Proteins and Amino Acids When I started my journey to combat hairfall and dryness, I quickly learned that proteins and amino acids are the building blocks of strong, resilient hair. These components help to repair and strengthen hair strands from within, which is crucial for hair that's prone to breakage due to dryness. Keratin: Rebuilds damaged cuticles Wheat Protein: Increases elasticity Soy Protein: Enhances hair strength Collagen: Provides structure Amino Acids: Supports hair growth It's essential to understand that not all proteins are created equal. The hair's ability to absorb them depends on their molecular weight and compatibility with the hair's porosity. I've noticed that products containing these proteins often list them as keratin, wheat protein, soy protein, vegetable protein, collagen, amino acids, and oat. It's important to look for these ingredients when selecting a shampoo for hairfall and dry hair. Hydrating Agents When I'm looking for a shampoo to combat my dry hair and reduce hairfall, I always check for hydrating agents in the ingredient list. These substances are crucial because they help to lock in moisture and improve hair elasticity, reducing the likelihood of breakage and hairfall. Hydrating agents come in various forms, such as: Glycerin: A humectant that draws moisture from the air into the hair shaft. Panthenol: Also known as Pro-Vitamin B5, it penetrates the hair, providing long-lasting moisture. Hyaluronic Acid: Though more commonly associated with skin care, it's increasingly found in hair products for its intense hydration properties. It's essential to find a balance in hydration. Too little and your hair remains dry and brittle; too much and it can become weighed down and limp. The key is to look for shampoos that offer deep hydration without residue. Remember, the right hydrating agents can make a significant difference in the health and appearance of your hair. They should work in tandem with other ingredients like natural oils and proteins to provide a comprehensive solution to dryness and hairfall. Selecting the Right Shampoo Sulfate-Free Options In my quest for healthier hair, I've learned that sulfate-free shampoos are a game-changer for those of us dealing with hairfall and dryness. These shampoos are gentler on the scalp and hair, reducing the risk of stripping away natural oils that are essential for moisture retention. Sulfates are known for their deep cleaning properties, but they can be too harsh for sensitive scalps and fragile hair strands. Here's a quick rundown of the benefits I've noticed since switching to sulfate-free options: Reduced scalp irritation and dryness Less frizz and more manageable hair Improved hair texture and shine I've also kept an eye on the latest reviews, like the NY Post's roundup of the best sulfate-free shampoos of 2023. They put 23 options to the test, highlighting how these products not only cleanse gently but also help preserve hair color, which is a bonus for those of us who dye our hair. pH-Balanced Formulas
I've learned that maintaining the correct pH balance in hair care is crucial. A shampoo with a balanced pH can help protect the scalp's natural barrier, which is essential for keeping hair healthy and preventing hairfall. This balance also ensures that the hair cuticle remains closed, which helps to lock in moisture and reduce dryness. When I select a shampoo, I consider the pH level, which should ideally be between 4.5 and 5.5. Here's a simple list to keep in mind when shopping for pH-balanced shampoos: Look for shampoos labeled as 'pH-balanced' Avoid products with high alkalinity Consider using a pH test strip if the pH is not listed It's not just about preventing hairfall; it's about nurturing a healthy environment for hair to thrive. Recently, I came across a title that caught my eye, '8 Best pH-Balanced Shampoos: Why pH Matters for Your Hair?'. It mentioned the Grow Perfect™ Shampoo, which is designed to boost hair growth in thin hair and has an optimal pH for the scalp. This resonates with my understanding that a well-formulated shampoo can make a significant difference in managing hairfall and dryness. Shampoos for Different Hair Types I've come to realize that there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to shampoos for dry hair and hairfall. Each hair type requires a specific formula that caters to its unique needs. For instance, fine hair may need lightweight moisturizing agents to prevent it from being weighed down, while curly hair often benefits from richer, more emollient shampoos to define curls and combat frizz. Fine Hair: Look for volumizing shampoos that still offer hydration without heaviness. Thick Hair: Creamier shampoos can help manage and moisturize thick strands. Curly Hair: Hydration is key, so opt for shampoos with oils and butters. Color-Treated Hair: Shampoos with UV protection and gentle cleansers will help preserve color and moisture. It's essential to understand your hair's porosity as well. This refers to how well your hair can absorb and retain moisture, which is crucial when selecting the right shampoo. Low porosity hair can be prone to buildup, so lighter formulas are preferable, whereas high porosity hair might need more intensive hydration. Remember, the goal is to find a balance between preventing hairfall and maintaining moisture without causing additional stress to your hair. It might take some trial and error, but once you find the right shampoo, it can make a significant difference in the health and appearance of your hair. Additional Hair Care Tips Regular Trimming I've found that regular trimming is essential in maintaining the health of my hair, especially when dealing with dryness and hairfall. By trimming the ends every 6-8 weeks, I prevent split ends from working their way up the hair shaft, which can lead to further breakage and hair loss. Keeping a consistent trimming schedule helps to minimize damage and can actually make hair appear thicker and fuller over time. While it may seem counterintuitive to cut hair when you're trying to grow it out or prevent hairfall, the benefits of regular trims cannot be overstated. Here's a simple list of reasons why trimming is beneficial: It removes split ends and reduces breakage. It helps in maintaining the shape and style of the hair. It can prevent tangles, which can lead to hairfall when brushing or combing. Remember, a trim doesn't mean a drastic change in hair length; it's just a maintenance step to keep hair healthy and strong. Deep Conditioning Treatments I've found that incorporating deep conditioning treatments into my hair care routine has been a game-changer for my dry, brittle strands. These treatments are designed to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft, providing intense hydration and repair. Regular use can significantly improve hair texture and reduce breakage, which is often a precursor to hairfall. One of my go-to products is the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme. It's
a pre-shampoo treatment that I apply once a week, and it's specifically formulated to strengthen, repair, and hydrate my hair. It adds that much-needed elasticity and bounce, which is especially beneficial for those with fine, medium, or coarse hair. While the market is flooded with various deep conditioning treatments, it's essential to choose one that aligns with your hair's specific needs. Look for treatments that contain nourishing ingredients like natural oils, proteins, and amino acids. Here's a simple routine I follow with deep conditioning treatments: Apply the treatment to damp hair before shampooing. Cover hair with a shower cap and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and follow up with your regular shampoo and conditioner. Remember, consistency is key. To see real improvements, make deep conditioning a regular part of your hair care regimen. Protecting Hair from Heat Damage I've learned that frequent styling with hot tools can take a toll on my hair's health. Using a heat protectant is essential to shield my strands from the high temperatures of blow dryers, flat irons, and curling wands. These products form a protective barrier, significantly reducing the risk of damage. While I don't rely solely on heat protectants, incorporating them into my routine has made a noticeable difference. It's a simple step that can prevent long-term harm to my hair. Here's a quick guide to using heat protectants effectively: Apply the product evenly throughout damp or dry hair before using any hot tools. Choose a protectant that suits your hair type—some are specifically formulated for fine, thick, or curly hair. Don't forget to reapply if you're restyling or touching up your hair later in the day. Product Recommendations and Reviews Top Shampoos for Dry and Falling Hair After extensive research and consideration, I've compiled a list of shampoos that stand out for their efficacy in tackling both dryness and hair fall. These products are not just popular but have proven ingredients that target the root of the problem. shu uemura Izumi Tonic Strengthening and Thickening Rice Water Shampoo: This shampoo comes highly recommended for its unique formula that incorporates rice water, known for its hair-strengthening properties. Nioxin Cleanser Shampoo: A trusted choice for those experiencing hair thinning, Nioxin's shampoo helps to remove follicle-clogging sebum, fatty acids, and environmental residues from the scalp skin. Pureology Hydrate Shampoo: Ideal for dry, color-treated hair, Pureology's formula is sulfate-free and packed with hydrating ingredients that help to lock in moisture. While these shampoos are effective, it's important to remember that results can vary from person to person. Consistent use and complementing these products with a good hair care routine can significantly improve your hair's health. Each of these shampoos has been selected based on their ingredient profile, customer reviews, and my personal experience with some of the products. It's crucial to choose a shampoo that not only reduces hair fall but also addresses dryness without stripping the hair of its natural oils. How to Read Shampoo Labels When I'm standing in the aisle looking at the plethora of shampoo options, I know that understanding the labels can be the key to choosing the right product. The list of ingredients is usually ordered by quantity, with the first few ingredients making up the majority of the shampoo. It's important to recognize certain ingredients that can either benefit or harm my hair, especially when dealing with dryness and hairfall. Water (Aqua) is almost always the first ingredient, as it is the primary solvent in shampoos. Sulfates are detergents that can strip hair of its natural oils; I look for labels that say 'sulfate-free'. Silicones often end in '-cone', '-conol', or '-xane' and can weigh hair down if used excessively. Parabens are preservatives that can be irritating to the scalp and are best avoided.
Natural oils and butters should be high on the list for their moisturizing properties. Remember, the higher up on the list an ingredient is, the more of it is in the product. This is crucial for understanding the potential impact on my hair. I also pay attention to claims like 'for dry hair' or 'anti-hairfall', but I know these are not regulated and require a deeper look into the ingredients to confirm their validity. The label can also provide information on whether the shampoo is pH-balanced, which is important for maintaining the health of my scalp and hair. User Experiences and Testimonials After trying numerous products, I've realized that the best shampoos for hairfall and dry hair are often those praised in user testimonials. These personal accounts provide insights that go beyond the label, revealing how the shampoo performs in real-life situations. For instance, I've learned that while some shampoos may boast nourishing ingredients, they might not work well for everyone. Many users emphasize the importance of a shampoo's ability to reduce hairfall significantly. Others highlight the moisturizing effect, noting how their hair feels softer and less brittle. A common thread among testimonials is the search for products that offer both benefits without compromising one for the other. In my journey, I've found that patience is key. It often takes several weeks of consistent use to see noticeable improvements in hair strength and moisture levels. This period of trial and error is crucial in finding the shampoo that truly works for your unique hair needs. ConclusionIn conclusion, finding the best shampoo for hairfall and dry hair is essential for maintaining moisture and strength in your hair. It is important to consider your hair type, ingredients, and specific needs when selecting a shampoo. By choosing the right shampoo, you can effectively address hairfall and dryness, leading to healthier and more resilient hair. Remember to consult with a hair care professional if you have specific concerns or conditions regarding your hair health. The Sudden Whitening of Hair: Understanding the Causes and Implications
The phenomenon of sudden hair whitening, often dramatized in literature and film, has fascinated and puzzled scientists and laypeople alike. This occurrence, sometimes referred to as "Marie Antoinette syndrome" after the French queen whose hair allegedly turned white overnight before her execution, has various potential explanations rooted in science and medicine.
The Physiology of Hair Color
According to Journal of Medicinal Screening (jsm.rsm), hair color is determined by pigment-producing cells called melanocytes, which reside in the hair follicles. Melanocytes produce melanin, the pigment responsible for hair color, in two forms: eumelanin (black or brown) and pheomelanin (red or yellow). The combination and concentration of these pigments result in the wide range of human hair colors.
As people age, the activity of melanocytes decreases, leading to a gradual loss of pigment and the appearance of gray or white hair. This process, known as canities, is a natural part of aging. However, when hair seems to turn white suddenly, other factors might be at play.
Potential Causes of Sudden Hair Whitening
Acute Stress and Trauma: While the idea of hair turning white overnight due to extreme stress is largely anecdotal, there is some evidence suggesting that severe stress can accelerate hair whitening. Stress can impact the body's overall function, potentially leading to a rapid decline in melanocyte activity. Recent studies have shown that stress hormones can indeed affect the stem cells that regenerate hair pigment, possibly causing a swift change in hair color.
Alopecia Areata: This autoimmune disorder causes patchy hair loss and can lead to a sudden whitening of hair. In cases where pigmented hair falls out and the remaining hair is white or gray, the change can appear dramatic. When hair regrows, it may initially come in white before the melanocytes recover and pigment production resumes.
Vitiligo: Another autoimmune condition, vitiligo, involves the loss of skin pigmentation due to the destruction of melanocytes. When it affects the scalp, it can result in patches of white hair. If the condition progresses rapidly, the change can appear sudden.
Nutritional Deficiencies: Deficiencies in certain vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B12, can impact hair health and color. Although less common, a sudden change in diet or absorption issues could lead to an abrupt change in hair pigmentation.
Medical Treatments and Conditions: Certain medical treatments, including chemotherapy, can cause hair to fall out and regrow with different pigmentation. Similarly, conditions that affect the endocrine system, such as thyroid disorders, can influence hair color.
Psychological and Social Implications
The sudden whitening of hair, regardless of the underlying cause, can have significant psychological and social impacts. Hair is often closely tied to personal identity and self-esteem, and a dramatic change in hair color can affect an individual’s self-perception and how they are perceived by others. It can serve as a visible marker of stress or illness, sometimes prompting unwelcome attention or concern.
Conclusion
While the sudden whitening of hair is rare, it is a real phenomenon with various potential causes. Understanding the underlying mechanisms continues to be an area of scientific research. If someone experiences a rapid change in hair color, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional to rule out underlying medical conditions and receive appropriate care.
In a world where hair color can change for a myriad of reasons, the stories of sudden hair whitening remind us of the complex interplay between our physical and emotional well-being. Whether rooted in stress, autoimmune conditions, or other factors, the sudden loss of hair pigment is a fascinating example of the body's response to internal and external stimuli.
