i am never ever ever ever getting over the post that compared viktor to griffith like. leaving off the fact that the only real similarities between them are 'obviously gay and somewhat "feminine" man goes evil' (aka: homophobia the aesthetic trope) i also wonder all the time if the person who suggested that thought much beyond the general visual aspect because not only are viktor and griffith's motivations are pretty wildly different but also just generally making that statement implies something. extremely specific. about viktor that i think would have made him entirely unsellable as a champion in league had it happened

#or worse lol it would have ignited like half the fandom of the show to be like 'yeah that [slur] deserved it'#but i do feel the comparison highlights the value of encouraging annoyingly close readings of the text 💀#i'm not even saying that if league had an M-rating that particular thing would be outside the realm of possibility for viktor's arc #or that the story couldn't have just started him from a motivational place closer to griffith's #had they followed through on his fixation on legacy thereby also leading him to a downfall like griffith's #also i think there's a lot to be said about. y'know. his second and much more casual murder of sky #but i really want to know if that person thought the comparison thru to its logical end point #viktor
