my take on dorian gray. hi
#grooming and objectification too but you all aren't ready for that convo#listen they're not only 10 years apart and dorian is said to be a minor by henry wotton in chapter 2#but also. I might get jumped for this but I don't think Basil cares for dorian outside of the artistic ideal and the beauty he said it#<- first chapter i believe. if you wanna look it up#plus it's creepy to be obsessed with someone who looks like a teenager in that way#you could argue “but he tried to stop wotton from corrupting dorian” yeah#because he wanted dorian for himself and couldn't stand seeing his perfect young boy ideal getting influenced by someone who wasn't him#like yeah dorian started crying in ch1 after wotton told him the youth thing but#i believe Basil also affected that. try putting an abused 20 year old in your living room and paint him for 5 without talking to him#and then compliment his beauty only#go ahead im sure the guy won't end up thinking his only important trait is his youth and beauty#and theres that scene where dorian calls him out for that and Basil is like nooo dont say that youre so pretty aha#this is all /nm btw! not trying to be rude at all i just don't think basil and dorian have the cute relationship most people interpret#also this post was directed at basil too not only wotton. this is not a basil safe space /lh#the picture of dorian gray
