so i've watched up thru episode nine now (i guess i'm just watchin all of em) and it's aged alright imo. it's weird tho, cause he's playing in old versions that were already super outdated at the time of recording, so it feels like it's even older than it actually is

so far he's just blowing ppl up and the rectangle logo is ~ mysteriously popping up ~ in various places, but it feels like a p standard lets play to me, albeit on a smaller scale than most youtuber SMPs

i did enjoy him mentioning following an old etho tutorial for his mob farm as an etho enjoyer. to be fair idk who tf else even had tutorials for stuff like that in 2011 but it still was like :O that's my boy

so i've been following grian since he joined hermitcraft, right. i kinda wrote him off before that. in ~season 5 a bunch of his fans would spam other hermits' comment season requesting that grain join next season, so i went 🤨 and looked him up. and i just ignored him cause most of his vids were like TOP TEN NEAT BUILDING HACKS YOU *HAVE* TO TRY

but i gave him a shot when he joined and i was really impressed. he was a good builder and entertaining, and despite being reletively new to survival he took to it like a cod to water

but because tumblr is a weird alternate dimension, sometimes fans will go off about smth and idk wtf they're talking about despite watching regularly for years. so i just watched his first EVO episode so i can try and figure out wtf a watcher is. it was p solid considering it's a seven year old video, idk if i'm gonna watch the ones with the most views (that i'm guessing are most lore-important) or just go thru all of em yet. wish me luck

So, I made this blog over a year ago now. It is somehow gaining traction, so I am returning to this for a while. What mainly needed a revamp was the intro post, so this is the new introduction.

Most asks will not have an attached image, but some rare few will. I'm just burned out, and losing my spark for drawing Fandroid. Please understand that.

Whether from the personal literature writing project on your own initiative, constantly advancing plots, original characteristics in the western sense, shaped in complex themes and insights into the ideas and concepts behind them, in warp evolve steps in writing & effort, the world-building, realistically accurate reference to Digimon and its canon elements , on the decision to continue the dramatic, compassionate story for public publication and share integrated open-minded readers on the fan blog. Like ask, off topic or valuable trivia, fanwork integration and presentation. Whether on reading you start with Examon`s recruitment and follow his career in the insertion of the Royal Knights order, question yourself and observe the serious gray antoganists with their authorization and movements, for their own and the plot, complicated inner conflicts among themselves, the handling and meddling of entire groups, the observation in steps of the maturing & evolving of an new Generation, the fall of Heros, Villians alike in their being or fall into favorism and interest themselves in the Mercs and supporting characters who provide impressive support for the dynamics of the various interests and groups. Even hidden Digimon in the background do a lot of hard work for the conflicts of interests. Even short, long ago cameo appearances - easily consciously overlooked - turn out to be legitimately important characters of consequences and enrichment.

Thanks for this so long and well written journey of your own for the public.

Myself included, I've been reading both ADiSA+HW chapter by chapter again and every so often since 2017 shortly after Odaiba Memorial, or the story arcs in a different observation for more perspectives. Be as in relation to the view of Examon, Sleipmon, Alphamon or Antoganistennin black or gray contrastic view and their reason.

Back then I was looking for fanfic about the Royal Knights, based on their official reference facts formed into a story, or finally in a positive heroic perspective instead of the predominantly antagonistic route from the media at the time.

I read 3 fics, 2 unsatisfactory but only Adisa remained with overwhelming appreciation. The dramatic, detailed, multi-layered, comical and fricking compassionate, emotionally appreciated characters. The descriptions, intense long fights, original ideas and worldbuilding with such realistic meaning in an almost contemporary period of time are presented with love in detail and reference. And in between all the drama, surprises and developments of the characters parallel to the development of the plots and story as a full-length history now. These Digimon are so damn well written realistically, and yet they are still Digimon in their aspects. They are Digimon, they are emotional feeling Characters in an human way too but are still digital monsters alike. You can imagine every scene, struggling, action loaded fights, the dialogue and personal fights dramatic in detail. You can immediately recognize every voice of every Digimon from each other, even if there are now over 30 fixed characters in rotation. The reader will once again appreciate your work and creativity and also support. Thanks for all the time and full time througs of planning Griff!! You represent your reflections on Digimon so accurately, and your Null Verse with its inhabitants in your own living view with full spirit in the sense of each Digimon of whether triumphant or in their own crushing doubts and harsh reality, with full justification. Each plot or scene, interaction can viewed in different ways or observation. I've already cried to often with the Digimon, over certain situations and suffering, but also joy and empathy often with so many characters, between the lines. The varity of consequences in which direction and perspective chapters can develop and or end in drama is crazy, even if usually only one option out of many is chosen or a completely different route. When I think back before the XW era almost blindly about western Digimon fiction like RPG based on fun characterization and observation and handling on characters about Digimon in a different medium at that time. Your Fiction is an absolute blessing to read and jewel for the open-minded Digimon fanbase of creative work. An own Digital World full of potential. With so much hardwork in length on your own in so much writing on virtual paper for pages. Thanks for all the time of years in passion, broad well knowledge, alignments in the implementation of decisions and ideas, your wholesome characters and talented well emotional writing style, in deep heartbleeding in text & imagination with your own work. So congratulation again, and i wish good writing process for the future. I hope all have fun on going alike, with or within this massive Milestone and work - with the Royal Knights and the red Dragon in Shining Armour. :D

Hi, I’ve been reading your blog as I slowly get into Berserk (longtime Soulsborne fan so it felt necessary to read up on what inspired the franchise).

I’m absolutely in LOVE with how you portray Griffith’s heart aching obsession with his sopping wet beast of a love interest.

I’d like to know your thoughts on that scene where Casca is cleaning Guts’ face after rescuing Griffith, particularly what you think the huge emphasis on him intensely staring at them while this exchange takes place.

A friend and I are debating about whether it’s lustfully longing (it’s the only time Guts’ is really sexualized) or if it’s absolute seething jealousy bc he KNOWS they had sex and grew incredibly close without him. Or even both, really???

Your stuff is awesome and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks for all the hard work :D

Honestly I do think it's lustful. The same way Miura really emphasized Griffith's beauty from Guts' point of view from their first meeting to about Promrose Hall, Guts' good looks are really emphasized between the rescue and the Eclipse when he becomes the centre of the shifting love triangle.

This specific page really emphasizes it imo with Griffith's gaze framing this moment. Griffith's staring eye followed by Guts and Casca from an angle Griffith can't actually see, followed by just Guts looking really eroticized, follwed by Griffith's actual much less evocative perspective, followed by Griffith's ominous stare.

To me this suggests that the middle images, especially Guts' face, isn't actually Casca's or a neutral point of view, but Griffith's imagination, or at least intended to represent both Casca's point of view and Griffith's headspace. To me it feels suprisingly clearly communicated that Griffith wants to be in Casca's place here, based on the sequence of shots, the way the middle panels are bookended so emphatically by Griffith's gaze.

And yeah I think it's both lust and jealousy.

There's also the fear that he'll be left behind now that Guts and Casca have grown close and he's now dependent and can't do anything to affect the situation. We see a similar look during the Wyald fight when Casca screams that Guts was going to leave with her

And of course not long after Wyald horrifyingly explains exactly how dependent Griff is now. This leads into the last couple chapters before the Eclipse where Guts wants to stay but Judeau and Casca keep telling him to leave, Griff overhears, and has his nightmare sequence about living with Casca while Guts is off gallivanting around killing people.

Since Casca's in the nightmare and Griff snaps when Casca tells him to leave, I think less than the idea of being abandoned by both of them, Griffith's fear here is almost entirely just about Guts potentially abandoning him again. So it's also pretty romantically charged imo.

it continually amazes me, just how many things there are to be passionate about. pick a topic and there’s probably a whole community of people discussing it in more detail than you could ever have dreamed was worth thinking about.

i like perfume. well, i thought i liked perfume. i have an inherited bottle of chanel no. 5, two precious little flasks from a fancy parfumerie overseas, a couple of things i picked up at bath & body works because they smelled nice. i know florals and citruses, musks and vanillas. give me a description and i’ve probably got a vague sense of whether i’ll like it.

today i found a perfume blog. (we won’t talk about how i got there, because i sure wasn’t looking for it.) and… i could not make sense of half of what i read.

do you know how many words they use, these fragrance connoisseurs? top notes and sillages. chypres and florientals. i’m fairly sure they don’t use the term “green” in the same way i do.

do you know how much history there is, how much context and reference there is to explain and compare things? versace, givenchy, yves st laurent. giorgio, which everyone loved until everyone else started using it. love’s baby soft, quintessential tweenhood of the 80s. inspirations, comparisons. vintages and originals.

do you know how much emotion there is? the fierce quibbling over ma griffe, whether it’s a triumph of audacity or a bygone disgrace. the joyous anticipation of hunting down a long-lost vial in a thrift shop. the rush of memories from uncorking something your grandmother used to wear, the belated realization that her generation marked that scent as a wild girl’s statement piece. the melancholy, in knowing that you’ll never know the scent of a signature in its heyday, that forty years from now your favorites might not be recognizeable either.

i study science. i know about jargon. most people i talk to won’t understand gravitational microlensing, stereoisomers, iterative optimization algorithms. there’s a good chance that they don’t know the difference between kirigami and a kite base, tunisian dwarf stitch from irish lace.

some people watch star wars for a lark, leave the theater and move on with their lives. some people post calligraphy quotes from lord of the rings on their wall, and never crack the book open again. some people read mistborn and then leave the memory of their tears on the library shelf.

and this satisfies them. they say, yes! i like it very much. and yet they never think to debate the moral implications of the jedi code. they don’t know who fëanor is, and probably don’t care. they have never wondered whether allomancers can burn shardblades. it mystifies me.

and yet. how many people would look at me and think, how quaint, that she doesn’t know a socket wrench from a sautering iron. a daquiri from a doppio. a chiaroscuro from a cheongsam.

• ash lives in an alleyway somewhere in super city. he owns a worn down, nearly broken mattress with holes in it. it isn't for him, its for his rats. ash sleeps somewhere by the wall of the alleyway

bonus: surge sometimes checks in on ash and leaves him gifts. ash doesn't really like surge's presence, but is grateful for someone checking up on him here & there

• colette can change into her trixie form by either summoning it or transforming herself. she doesn't really enjoy the process of transforming, it's sorta like shedding skin but more painful

bonus: summoning trixie colette is heavily suggested by her since it's less painful, griff is freaking out about the summoning while edgar is just used to it

• when surge stops by at ash's place, he often takes him out to the snowtel to meet up with lou when he isn't doing anything, lou enjoys both of their presence and sees them as close friends

bonus: he gives them free snow cones :)

• byron owns pet snakes! he has a copperhead named william, an albino burmese python named honeycomb, a green tree python named clover, and an anaconda. her name is tank.

bonus: some brawlers are terrified of the reptile room that byron keeps his snakes in, but edgar calls it the noodle room

• when ash first met surge, he was very cautious and provoked, seeing surge as a threat. but once he started to get used to his presence, he started to get closer to him and lou. he's sorta still on the fence, but getting there

holy hell, gamers, i finally reached one whole thousand followers! how bonkers is that! when i first made this blog in december 2018, i was just trying to start over in a new fandom. ive been active on tumblr for a looong time (since i was like 11, which is. not great, but we wont get into that). i cant remember quite why i decided to remake, but i never imagined getting a higher following than i did before, but i did! 1000 followers is bonkers, i’ve never had a thousand of anything! i seriously cant thank each and every one of you enough, whether you followed me for 911 or for mcyt or for whatever!

Travis don’t read this.

Some of you are about to be real mad at me. But it must be said. It probably doesn’t need to be said, but it’s my blog and I don’t care.

I am honestly so disappointed about how just bad mbmbam has gotten recently. I stopped listening over a year ago because it was just too cringy but I started up again because I really needed some content to listen to. I figured I would be able to find at least a couple of minutes of listenable content within the 530+ episodes of this show.

Travis just ruins every single one. He fills up any single miniscule pause or moment of dead air with drivel. Whatever useless thought that pops into his head gets spewed out onto his brothers. All of his scenarios and fictions he creates necessitate some longwinded backstory for almost no payoff. And listen, it’s a comedy podcast. So the goal should be comedy. I see what he was going for with “Play Along at Home,” and I see that the comedic value in the bit was Griffin and Justins’ fury. Like, it was funny to ask Griff questions about Disney and ask Justin questions about Pokemon. But the anti-comedy approach can’t be one of the three hosts’ only contribution to the podcast. It is poison to my ears. I have never had the misfortune of hearing a Sad Libs. (In a recent live show, Griffin mentioned during the ad read that he had edited a Sad Libs out to spare the listener that tremendous burden. That comment was certainly a joke or a lighthearted jab at his brother but honestly, thank you Griffin.)

What kills me is Travis’s ability to completely obliterate the momentum of the show. Griffin and Justin will be riffing, building off each other, having good time. Then Travis will jump in with something as irrelevant as “haha yeah! and what if they were on the moon!” or something similarly asinine.

You just can’t justify it as “middle brother energy,” or “he has ADHD, of course you can’t follow his train of thought!”

It is a comedy podcast. If one of the hosts is petulant and attention seeking, it is going to be a bad time for everyone. If one of the hosts gets distracted and derailed, it is going to be a bad time. Perhaps his birth order or his ADHD are his reasons for his behavior but whatever the justification may be, this behavior just doesn’t make for good content. And that’s all I wanted, some good content. It truly is a shame that what once was a decent show has been ruined by 1/3 of the hosts being “anti-comedy.” What?

Another thing he does (that is often attributed to his ADHD) is interrupt. They all interrupt each other and talk over each other, but Travis’s interjections are never for the purpose of moving the bit along. He will interrupt someone’s train of thought to say “ [sjw disclaimer] just so no one calls us out on twitter....” or “just to be clear, we are NOT kinkshaming...” Travis has made it clear he wants to be the Ally Of All Allies, and he would never even dream of saying anything remotely shitty to any marginalized group of people. Sure. But his performative allyship is ruining his own show. I understand that listeners or content-enjoyers mustn’t ever try to shut down people who are only trying to increase the stock of harmless cheer in the world, but there is a limit. We don’t need every single joke about furries or whatever to be bookended with Travis’s “not that there’s anything wrong with thaaaAAAaaat....” whine.

Speaking of whining... I truly cannot stand to listen to the sound of Travis’s voice. This is my own personal problem. Sometimes I find the sounds of peoples’ voices so grating that it drives me up a wall. But beyond Travis’s baseline nasally voice and accent, he often launches into this very high pitched voice when he is trying to interject. (I’m not even talking about the Riddle Master). In Episode 536 he turned into a full-on squeal when talking to Griffin. Other times he is full-on shouting! Like I have to turn the volume down on my phone because he is fully shouting. Justin has begun doing something that I appreciate: if Travis is literally screaming into the microphone, Justin will get really quiet. He does this humorous, tongue-in-cheek sultry voice that is very soft. And it causes Travis to quiet down. But when Travis is left to do whatever he wants, he will become extremely loud while contributing almost nothing of substance. It can be really painful to listen to Griffin and Justin trying to move to show along or just power through one of Travis’s meaningless tangents. It would be bad enough for Travis to be so poisonously unfunny and annoying at a normal volume, but the the fact that he steamrolls everyone else at an intense volume and in an effeminate affect (nOT tHaT tHEreS aNYthiNG wRonG wiTH tHaT) and a nasally voice drives me nuts.

I am not the only person to notice these things. The reviews on Apple Podcasts are mostly positive. The only negative reviews are from people who didn’t like that the mcelroys were encouraging people to vote (these reviews were saying the show was getting “too political,” with the boys simply reminding people not to be fascists) and the rest are from people who insist that Justin and Griffin need to reign Travis in. I hope they are able to have a conversation with him in private. I know that TAZ Graduation has its own set of problems, but I’m afraid that their listenership is just going to decline further and further if no one talks to Travis about his tangents and deliberately unfunny bits. I have given them so many chances and I just can’t do it. I’m afraid that others might not be so generous.
