Happy Valentine’s Day…Happy LOVE Day. To my Beloved G for being my long term partner who has stood with me through thick and thin. A lot of thin, and we have together made the decision to feel the abundance of life in spite of data proving otherwise. I adore my G also because I genuinely believe that straight men do not get credit for doing any kind of Inner work or facing fears or becoming deeply acquainted with the world of mental health and all the interesting modern solutions. Although so much progress has been made to close gender divides and bizarre, un-empowering definitions of what a gender ‘should’ be in the last 30 years, I still think straight men are not understood or respected unless they are over-achievers, and big “hunters and gatherers”. I’m so grateful I found a man who silently and without very much credit from anyone does his version of dealing with his vast Inner world and stays Zen in spite of the earth whirling around us.
