"Before words: the fortes that will lead you to unveil a realm of the dreamers. A realm, where dreams are the fuel and realities will be left behind."
𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐌 In the land of make-believe, where dreams take their stand, a disclaimer I craft—in words both gentle and grand. No affiliation, no claim to the real Yoon Seeun of STAYC, as this character’s made solely for roleplayer purposes only. This character arose from the dream, the fantasy. The stories I tell, in this make-believe dance, belong to the writer, Christmas, by chance. So let this verse be a beacon, the intentions made clear, in the realm of role-play, I hold nothing dear. With respect and homage to the artists I name, I embark on this journey, in a world not the same. Any resemblance to real persons or other real-life entities is purely coincidental. All characters and other entities appearing here are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, dead or alive, or other real-life entities, past or present, is purely coincidental.
Love, Christmas.

Keira Janelle Salim. 林梦婷 (Lín Mèngtíng). Janelle/Jane. Edinburgh, Scotland, June 14, 2002. A-type. Female. She/Her. Bisexual. Gemini. Indonesian. International Relations Student & Entrepreneur.
"Read, and may you never get lost..."
Keira Janelle Salim, lovingly referred to as Janelle, graced the world with her presence on June 14, 2002, in the vibrant city of Edinburgh, Scotland. Born in the midst of summer, she shared this momentous occasion with her twin brother, Brilianta Dion Salim, a bond that would shape their lives in remarkable ways. Their parents, Arnold Duocto Salim and Liviana Agnes Salim (née Joandra), are an extraordinary couple whose lives are a unique blend of diplomacy and music.
Both Arnold and Liviana hailed from the picturesque town of Pontianak, Indonesia, a place known for its serene beauty and warm-hearted people. Their love story was a fusion of two passions – Arnold’s commitment to diplomacy and Liviana’s virtuosity in playing the piano. Their union was a harmonious combination of cultures, much like the melodies that resonated from Liviana’s fingers as they danced across the keys.
The Salim family had grown to encompass five members over the years. Prior to Janelle’s birth, they were already a family of four, with Mochsen Salim being the eldest, known for his insatiable curiosity. Brilianta, or Brian, as he was affectionately called, was the twin brother who shared Janelle’s birthday. Mochsen, Brian, and Janelle formed a trio that was as diverse and dynamic as their diplomatic and artistic parents.
Arnold’s diplomatic career was an exciting yet challenging journey. As a diplomat, he had the honour of representing his country on the international stage. This often meant moving from one country to another, an adventurous lifestyle that Mochsen, Brian, and Janelle grew accustomed to. With each new destination, they embraced new cultures, languages, and friendships, truly becoming citizens of the world.
From the United States to South Africa, Russia to Japan, the Salim children lived like young ambassadors, their experiences broadening their horizons and enriching their perspectives. They learned the art of adaptability and developed a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of our global community.
Yet, when Mochsen, Brian, and Janelle reached high school age, their parents made a heartfelt decision to halt their nomadic existence. This decision was made out of love and a desire to ensure their children had the chance to build strong roots and a solid sense of identity. The family settled in Jakarta, Indonesia, providing the stability and continuity they had longed for.
In Jakarta, the Salim children had a chance to experience the warmth of a permanent home. They attended local schools, nurtured lasting friendships, and explored their individual interests and talents. Janelle, inspired by her father’s diplomatic career, pursued her passion for international relations and became a dedicated member of AIESEC. This organisation aligns perfectly with her global perspective and desire to make a positive impact on the world.
Arnold and Liviana, faithful to their callings, are now diplomats stationed in Vancouver, Canada. They continue to represent their home country on the world stage, sharing their love for diplomacy and music with diverse audiences. Meanwhile, Mochsen, Brian, and Janelle have chosen to stay in Jakarta, focusing on their education and personal development. This pause in their international adventures was a deliberate choice to prevent any identity crisis, ensuring they have a strong sense of self in their young adult lives.
The Salim family, rooted in Jakarta, while Arnold and Liviana fulfil their diplomatic duties in Vancouver. Janelle, in particular, is on the cusp of her own diplomatic journey as she pursues her studies and dreams in international relations. This path promises to be as dynamic and vibrant as her family’s story.
Personality: she’s a sunbeam in human form, her optimism a radiant glow, her intellect’s a tapestry of stars, a celestial mind to show. In debates, she’s a masterful weaver of words, a poetic art—a funny, quick-witted jester who can mend any broken heart. A social butterfly, she flutters from flower to flower with grace, yet a tempest within, her short temper can quickly surface and trace. Easily irritated, like lightning in a summer storm’s deluge, but she forgives as swiftly as the rain leaves the Earth’s refuge. Her heart, a vast canvas of contradictions, a vivid, complex hue, an enigmatic portrait of a woman, both fiery and forgiving, it’s true.
Interests: photography, movies, debates, documentary movies, war and historical movies, books (not really, and very picky), music, piano, guitar, flute, culinary, astronomy.
"Unbreakable bonds, imperishable vows: remaining constant in every phase, the hearts know that it will always last."
Mochsen Salim.
Mochsen, the embodiment of an exceptional big brother, possesses a personality that radiates kindness, compassion, and dedication. His soft-spoken demeanour is like a gentle breeze on a warm summer day, offering solace and comfort to those around him.
One of his most admirable qualities is his unwavering commitment to never burdening his younger siblings with life's complexities. He carries their worries and concerns as his own, creating a haven where they can grow and thrive without the weight of the world on their shoulders.
When their parents are away, Mochsen steps into the role of protector and caregiver without hesitation. His sense of responsibility is a rock upon which his siblings can depend, providing a sense of security that is both heartening and reassuring.
Passion courses through his veins like a relentless river, driving him to excel in whatever he pursues. Whether it’s his career or personal interests, Mochsen’s enthusiasm is palpable and inspiring, showing his siblings the rewards of dedication and hard work.
However, his passion is accompanied by a gentle touch, never overshadowing his soft-hearted nature. He knows that toughness and rigidity are not the path to nurturing deep and lasting relationships with loved ones. His approach to those he cares for is tender, compassionate, and empathetic.
Mochsen is the embodiment of reliability, the bedrock of support that every family needs. His presence is a comforting constant in a world filled with change and uncertainty. He represents the balance of strength and tenderness, illustrating that a soft heart can be a wellspring of resilience.
In Mochsen, his younger siblings have found not only a loving and reliable big brother but also a role model who embodies the qualities of a kind, gentle, and dedicated human being.
Brilianta Dion Salim.
Brian, the twin brother of Janelle, possesses a personality that may seem enigmatic at first, yet beneath his seemingly cold exterior lies a treasure trove of qualities that make him a truly remarkable individual.
At first glance, Brian’s demeanour might be misinterpreted as aloof or distant, but those who delve deeper soon discover a heart brimming with warmth and humour. He's the master of subtle wit and dry humour, effortlessly lightening the mood with his clever quips and witty observations.
Thoughtfulness is another defining trait of Brian’s character. He’s the kind of person who remembers birthdays, anniversaries, and the little things that matter most. His ability to put himself in others’ shoes, empathising and offering support when needed, showcases the depth of his caring nature.
Ambition courses through his veins, propelling him toward his goals with unwavering determination. Brian is not one to settle for mediocrity; he has a vision for the future and the drive to achieve it. His ambition serves as a source of inspiration, motivating those around him to reach for their own aspirations.
One of the most striking aspects of Brian’s personality is his uncanny ability always to know what to do in various situations. He approaches challenges composedly, never allowing panic or chaos to cloud his judgment. This innate sense of decisiveness makes him a trusted and valuable problem solver.
What makes the bond between Brian and Janelle truly special is their shared beliefs and values. As twins, they have an unspoken connection, a deep understanding of each other that goes beyond words. Their alignment in beliefs and values creates a unique synergy that provides unwavering support and solidarity in the face of life’s twists and turns.
In Brian, Janelle not only has a twin brother but also a confidant, a source of laughter, a partner in ambition, and a guide in times of uncertainty. His complex and multifaceted personality, often hidden beneath an initial veneer of reserve, adds depth and richness to their relationship, making it truly special.
"This is not the end, I will outlive the moons and shine with the stars that’ve been here right before and after me."

H E A D C A N O N S
matilda was born to parents who were both medical professionals, who made no secret of how much they wanted one of their kids to follow in their footsteps at least. at times, matilda felt as though she was being pushed into the medical field, and although she knew that she could say no at any point, she couldn’t quite bring herself to.
she excelled in school, again as was expected of her. she tried to be the picture perfect daughter, and fit into the picture perfect family that she had been so destined to be born into. a picture perfect family filled with cracks that she had been too young, or too naive, to see.
matilda had never been one to suspect that anything untoward might have been happening in the walls of her family home. she’d been so focussed on what she needed to do to fit in, to be just right.
learning that her father had been cheating on her mother tore the family apart. she didn’t understand how he could have done that not just to her mother, but to the whole family. she didn’t understand why her mother couldn’t see it happening either, even though she had been just as oblivious. the picture perfect family was torn apart while matilda was in high school, and she couldn’t have been more thankful to escape for college when she did.
matilda attended the university of washington for pre-med, where she fell in love with seattle. it was a stark contrast to san diego, and that was the majority of the appeal for her. it was far from the life she’d lived before.
matilda had to move for med school - attending baylor college of medicine. texas hadn’t been her first choice, but for her it was just a stop-gap onto the road she had been paving for herself. and besides, anywhere was better than risking going back to california and facing what was inevitably a messy divorce that was occurring between her parents.
as soon as she was able (and matched), matilda hopped on the first flight back to seattle. she couldn’t explain what the pull to it was, but it was there and it just felt right for her. the feeling stayed as she continued to learn at seattle presbyterian.
while working at seattle presbyterian, matilda met the person that she would then go on to marry. if you’d asked matilda, it was everything that she’d thought her parents marriage had been - two people in love, with nothing that could come between them.
ever the optimist, matilda thought that was it - that she’d met the person she would spend her life with, and that was that. apparently the picture perfect life she’d always wanted was a reality.
or so she’d thought. they’d only been married for a couple of years when the rumours started - that they weren’t as committed to matilda as she was to them, and that there was a side to their relationship that matilda didn’t want to admit existed.
for the most part, that mentality had worked, but ignoring the signs became increasingly harder the more when they were pointed out to you, clear as day. matilda told herself that it couldn’t be so - that they were happy.
finding a blonde in their bed hadn’t been part of the plan - and was impossible to ignore. then med student laurel davis wrapped up in the sheets that she had picked out, in the house that she had made a home? for the first time, the resentment matilda had felt for her mother for not being able to see what was going on dissipated, and left matilda feeling even more like a fool.
matilda went straight back into her mode of denial. it was just one person - one slip, that she had caught in the act, and they would be fine. but one slip was never the case, and matilda couldn’t let it go as much as she wanted to. she became more paranoid, questioning of every person in their lives wondering if maybe they had been in her bed too.
matilda was at first determined not to let this break their marriage. she was better than that, or so she told herself, better than her mother. and ultimately, that was where this all stemmed from - making sure she didn’t turn into the same person she had so resented.
matilda had them doing marriage counselling, retreats when they could get away, anything they could possibly to do to make things better. she couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t working, and that she was only driving her spouse to be all the more sneaking about their extra-curriculars.
a year ago, matilda moved to work at seattle grace with best friend maya rodriguez, on the advice that maybe the pair working in the same hospital and living under the same roof might be more pressure than needed, and could give them more of a chance. matilda didn’t buy it, seeing it as giving them more opportunities to cheat, but she kept it to herself. she was willing to do anything.
as she suspected, it hadn’t worked in the way that they had hoped. matilda was still worried, and with a frank conversation with the therapist, she and her spouse came to the decision that they would take a break. they were, for all intents and purposes, strangers to one another. and that was how they had to act. matilda would stay in the house while the spouse moved out, so see if time apart could heal what had gone on.
it’s been a month since their break began, and matilda would be lying to herself if she said that she could see them coming back from this - and she’d be lying even more if she wasn’t still wondering just how many people around her knew the truth, especially seeing laurel in the halls of seattle grace.
W A N T E D C O N N E C T I O N S / P L O T S
the spouse give us that DRAMA, maybe wanting to make it work or make it worse (or someone to convince her to leave the spouse for GOOD ya know 👀, or even just a good time for a hot minute in between pls she been through a lot)
someone stop me what if it’s like callie/mark/arizona vibes and her good time gets her pregnant when the spouse wants to work things out lord who am i
all sorts of friends and good vibes would be 10/10
i would be open to her having some family members knocking around

Tent of Promise Relaunch with Panorama in Wilcannia
TENT OF PROMISE Relaunch with Panorama in Wilcannia
Wilcannia NSW, Updated March 2020
Contributed by Adele Kenyon
In March 2019, Wilcannian locals entered their community hall last week expecting a devotional time and a church service as part of a mission-outreach by a visiting Queensland group to their dry and sweltering township, most of the local residents were stunned to find a gigantic 36 metre illustrated display of highlighted accounts from the Holy Bible plastered around three walls of their large hall.
On discovering this magnificent wall display several childrens’ jaws dropped and many pairs of eyes – including those of adults – were fixated on the impressive illustrations depicting key events from the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible, which when considered chronologically depict God’s carefully crafted plan of salvation for every person who accepts the heavenly Father’s gift of eternal life given through his precious Son, Jesus Christ. Reflected in the closing sections of the illustrated Bible display are the joy and peace infilling Christians who have accepted God’s gracious gift of life.
The impressive Bible Panorama is a key feature of the Tent of Promise (TOP) touring ministry which was relaunched in Wilcannia in Outback New South Wales this month after almost a decade in recess. TOP leaders are confident the new outreach will generate much interest and as the touring ministry gains momentum will ultimately lead many people around Australia to discover and commit or re-commit to the Christian faith. Bishop Cunnington explained that the team’s confidence in these positive outcomes is due to the team’s collective faith in the Word of God combined with its outward expression(s) of this faith.
TOP Founders, Barry and Sandra Cunnington, have remobilised this ministry with team members from their Coolangatta Promise Faith Centre Church in response to the leading of the Holy Spirit. They believe Australia is poised for a faith revival which will sweep the nation. TOP Founder, Senior Pastor and Bishop, Barry Cunnington, believes the power of God’s Word spoken by his righteous people will prevail.
The four participating TOP pastors are not new to this form of mobilised outback ministry. For many years they took this style of ministry outreach to various Australian townships, including eleven years on the road with an earlier Bible panorama which they hauled around Australia with help from a devoted mobile pastoral team. Now the panorama has been digitally revamped and the mobilisation process refined so it is all more portable – this helpful to the more senior pastors and other team-members, several of whom while agile and young-at-heart are aged in their seventies. The senior pastors are assisted in this mobile ministry by their younger counterparts, Reverend(s) Timothy and Leah Knowling of Alectown, NSW. Pastor Leah, in addition to her wide range of responsibilities, ably coordinates the music ministry for the TOP team, including contributing her impressively strong and powerful vocals which were well appreciated during this Wilcannia trip.
During the TOP team’s visit Bishop Cunnington liaised with Wilcannia’s local minister, Pastor Seta, of the Australian Aboriginal Outreach Ministries (AAOM), so TOP could use some of the local facilities during its visit to the town. Pastor Seta’s worship team also contributed readily to the music ministry during the six-day TOP visit, while Pastor Seta was also a key participant in the blessing of the Darling River

The Wilcannia launch of the new TOP mission, now renamed “The Tent of Promise:- Now Mobile”, did not disappoint.
As local visitors were welcomed, not only were they fascinated by the illustrated Bible highlighted on the hall walls, they were challenged by the delivered oratory during the times of devotion and moved by the music – so much so that in the final stages of the time-of-ministry on the first evening, dozens of children and youth independently went up for prayer with the visiting team.
These same children and visiting families subsequently revisited various ministry activities springing up over the next few days and brought along friends and new folk — who were also treated to a vibrant puppet show/singalong. Outreach activities culminated in an outdoor community prayer time for the River Darling held on the final Sunday evening in The Mallee neighbourhood park. This was attended by many local residents, with music provided by the local Wilcannia pastors and other worship team members as well as by Pastor Leah, followed by a celebratory barbecue to finish — all well received and attended. Local pastors enthusiastically participated in the music ministry during the TOP visit so a range of musical-worship styles were catered to over the period.
The TOP mobile ministry is affiliated with The Promise Faith Centre Churches International (PFCCI), with a base in Coolangatta, Queensland. Bishop Cunnington oversees the PFCCI and on its website (https://www.promisefaithcentre.org/about_us) explains how he has personally experienced transformation in his life and knowing the Grace of God “is compelled to bring the revelation of God’s Word in the Power of God’s Holy Spirit to those who have the need and Grace to receive”.

BIOGRAPHY:
Piper Parkinson’s mother always told her that a woman must be only two things to do well in life. The first, be beautiful. The second, be well-liked. Piper took these messages to heart. It was hard not to when you grew up the way that Piper did. Born to wealthy, pureblooded parents, Piper was subjected to a very similar childhood as most of her peers. She had the tutor, the dancing lessons, the etiquette lessons, and the constant pressure to conform to the rest of high society’s demands. The only difference between the Parkinsons and other families in the Sacred Twenty Eight was that they didn’t care about blood-purity. Oh, sure, in a perfect world they would have loved to see a muggle-free wizarding world, but this was no perfect world, and they accepted that. Rather than bustling about trying to change things, they would much prefer to find ways to get ahead with the things the way they were presently.
Her mother, Wendy, was born in the Travers family. Her betrothal to Phillip Parkinson was something she had known for most of her life and the two easily settled into married life when the time came. They had Piper first, giving her the middle name Mathilda, after Wendy’s mother. Phillip and Wendy loved their daughter and tried their hardest to teach her everything that she would need to know to succeed. Phillip taught her how to say a lot without really saying anything at all and Wendy told her all about how beauty was a tool a woman only had for so long and that she must use it to get ahead in this world. When Piper was one, her parents welcomed another child into the world, a son that they called Powell. Just as they had with their daughter before, they did their best to teach Powell everything he would need to know as the Parkinson family heir.
Piper and Powell were close from day one, and it was him who gave her the nickname Pinky when they were still in diapers. For a long time, it was just a childhood nickname given to her by her little brother. But as she grew up, the name began to mean something else to her. Powell was the one who had given her the name, and he thought that his big sister was more perfect than anybody in the whole world. She hoped that if she used that name, some of her brother’s opinions about her might bleed into real life. Piper had always had a thirst to be liked, to hear people speak of her fondly. She knew it was only a name, that it didn’t actually mean anything, but it was important to her nonetheless, so from that day forward she was called Pinky Parkinson by nearly everybody that she knew.
A few weeks after her eleventh birthday, Pinky finally received her Hogwarts letter. She was ecstatic. It was time for her to go off on her own and put the lessons she’d been learning for years to the test. The night before she left, Pinky made sure that she had everything that she needed: her brand new wand, all of her makeup (she had even nicked a few items from her mother just in case), and her prettiest ribbons ever so that she would always look her best for class. When she arrived, she was quickly sorted into Slytherin – although the hat did debate on placing her in Hufflepuff. Thank Merlin it didn’t. Pinky Parkinson, in Hufflepuff? She thought not. When she came and sat at the table, rather than focus on the Headmaster’s opening remarks or the delicious food in front of her, she looked around and tried to figure out who would be the biggest players in the game. Narcissa Black, well that was obvious. Pinky had spotted her out years ago as a potential Queen Bee and quickly made it her mission to befriend the girl. She didn’t stop with Narcissa, however. During her first year, she made it her mission to establish a good standing with everyone in her house. The way she spoke to everyone was different, and she would say anything to get someone to like her, even her more sinister housemates.
After she’d completed this, she branched out, trying to spread her influence across all of the other houses. It didn’t matter if one was a pureblood, a halfblood, or even a mudblood – (Oh wait, that’s not a polite word.) – sorry, muggleborns. Blood-traitor, purist, or in between… it was no matter, she would befriend you regardless. If she were ever asked about this, she’d say that she was just playing the game. It came in handy having so many friends, and she was always on the lookout for herself. While this helped her a lot if she ever needed someone to let her copy their homework or do any other favor for her, it prevented her from making genuine connections with people. She altered her personality with every new person she spoke to and found it difficult to show them who she really was inside. It made for a lonely existence sometimes, but it was Pinky’s way and she would stick with it.
The recent violence in the world rattled her somewhat. After all, she was friends with everyone, so each and every student victim thus far was someone she had spoken with and spent time with. It was… alarming to see them be taken away from the world so quickly. Still, she refused to let it get her down. After all, she was a Parkinson and she would be safe from all of this nonsense. So long as she didn’t get hurt, it was no matter. Her sixth year at Hogwarts is in full swing and just like always, Pinky has her eye on the prize. She was going to make this school love her dammit, if that was the only thing she ever accomplished.
CONNECTIONS:
Adele Ivers - wants to get to know her, finds her to be a challenge
Narcissa Black - tries very hard to stay in her good graces, knows she is more popular
Amelia Bones - finds her boring and thinks of her as a buzzkill

Australian basketball is going from strength to strength with a record-equalling contingent to start their campaigns this week
The mood at suburban basketball courts across Australian is buoyant. With ongoing investment from Larry Kestelman and the recent arrival of Andrew Bogut, the domestic National Basketball League is resurgent. Two weeks ago the Liz Cambage-led Opals claimed the silver medal at the Fiba World Cup. And when the NBA begins across the Pacific on Wednesday (AEST), nine Australians will grace team rosters several with legitimate hopes of challenging for a championship ring.
Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers)
What more can be said about Simmons? The 22-year-old Melburnian has long been hyped and in 2016 became only the second Australian picked at No 1 in the NBA draft. While a pre-season injury saw him miss his entire first season, it only delayed what has seemed inevitable ever since the point-forward first dominated in high school. In his debut campaign last year, Simmons had one of the best rookie seasons in history. He averaged 15.8 points, 8.2 assists and 8.1 rebounds, numbers not seen since Magic Johnson. His shooting needs work, but Simmons 2017-18s Rookie of the Year is on the fast track to becoming Australias best basketballer of all time. Expect more for the highlight reel this season.
Jonah Bolden (Philadelphia 76ers)
Joining Simmons in Philadelphia is Bolden. The Victorian forward was an early second round draft pick in 2017, but was immediately sent to Maccabi Tel Aviv. In Israel he helped Maccabi to a domestic league and cup double, doing enough to convince the 76ers that he deserved an NBA gig. The 22-year-old is unlikely to earn immediate minutes on an increasingly impressive Philadelphia roster, but his strong shooting, defensive abilities and work ethic could in time earn him a regular rotation slot.
Aron Baynes (Boston Celtics)
He may already be 31, but the star of unglamorous big man Baynes is finally on the rise. The Queensland centre spent several years at San Antonio and Detroit without setting the league on fire. But in his first season with Boston, Baynes was an integral team member as the Celtics came within one game of the championship playoffs. The forwards numbers dont lie: Baynes had the best individual defensive rating during last years regular season, and led the league in fewest points allowed per possessions defended. He was duly rewarded, signing a two-year, A$15.5m deal to remain in Boston.

Patty Mills (San Antonio Spurs)
After a slew of departures and retirements, Mills is now the longest-serving member of San Antonio roster. Thats not a bad achievement for a point guard whose initial efforts for the Spurs were best remembered for his towel-waving enthusiasm from the bench. Mills was Mr Consistent for the Spurs last year, playing in every regular season encounter with an average of 10 points and 2.8 assists in 25.7 minutes. An ACL tear suffered by young guard Dejounte Murray could see even more court-time for Mills in 2018-19. He may never again ascend to the heights of his 2014 championship season, but the Canberrans dynamism will once again be valuable for San Antonio.
Joe Ingles (Utah Jazz)
Simmons may have earned the plaudits, but Ingles made a credible claim to the best campaign by an Australian in the NBA last season. Since joining Utah in 2014 following a journeyman career in Europe, Ingles has been a consistent contributor on an inconsistent roster. But when the Jazz surged last year, so did the 31-year-old. Ingles had the fourth highest three-point percentage in the league and demonstrated his usual defensive energy as Utah made the conference semi-finals. While Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are the reason the Jazz suddenly find themselves being discussed as serious contenders, Ingles provides the teams spine. Since his rookie season in 2014, Utah have played 328 games Ingles missed just four.
Dante Exum (Utah Jazz)
A few eyebrows were raised when Utah offered Exum a new three-year, A$46m contract in July. The Australian prodigy has failed to justify his 2014 No 5 draft selection, and played just 14 regular season games during an injury-hit 2017-18. But at 23 Exum still has the time and potential to join childhood friend Simmons among the games elite. Although unlikely to initially start, Exum is well-placed to earn regular minutes as Utah hope to again exceed expectations in the West. He brings offensive speed to an otherwise plodding roster and is reliable in defence.
Matthew Dellavedova (Milwaukee Bucks)
After earning a championship ring and cult status during his tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dellavedovas performances since moving to Milwaukee in mid-2016 have been underwhelming. Injuries plagued his past season and a knee tendonitis issue lingers. With a new coach at the helm in Mike Budenholzer, Delly will be hoping to find a spot alongside Eric Bledsoe and Malcolm Brogdon in the guard rotation. If Dellavedova can repeat the hustle he became famed for in Cleveland, the Victorian could make an important contribution as the Bucks look to ascend the ladder in the Eastern Conference.
Thon Maker has time on his side to make it in Milwaukee. Photograph: Gary Dineen/NBAE/Getty Images
Thon Maker (Milwaukee Bucks)
Much-hyped during his youth career thanks to a handful of YouTube highlight clips, Thon Maker has not yet hit the stratospheric heights hoped. Picked at No 10 by Milwaukee in the 2016 draft, Maker has been an inconsistent member of the Bucks rotation in his rookie and sophomore seasons. He averaged 16.7 minutes last campaign, pulling in three rebounds and 4.8 points per game in the regular season before showing glimpses of his potential in the playoffs. Maker needs to elevate his game in 2018-19, not least because his contract is expiring. Although a packed roster of forwards will mean fierce competition for minutes, time remains on his side; it is easy to forget that Maker, a subject of speculation since he first starred in high school, is just 21.
Ryan Broekhoff (Dallas Mavericks)
Years of persistence have finally paid dividends for Broekhoff. Now 28, the Victorian has endured a peripatetic career with stops at an American college, Turkey and Russia. He played Summer League in 2015 and subsequently worked out with seven NBA teams, before finally inking a deal this August with Dallas. Broekhoff is a silky smooth shooter with an enviable three-point percentage he averaged over 50% from beyond the arc during Lokomotiv Kubans last EuroCup campaign. The Victorian will be hoping to work his way into the Mavericks rotation with pinpoint shooting and energetic defence.
The rest
Adelaide 36ers stalwart Mitch Creek, South Sudanese-Australian big man Deng Adel and Kentucky product Isaac Humphries all briefly ignited their NBA ambitions during the off-season, signing with Brooklyn, Toronto and Atlanta respectively. They were ultimately waived, but the Australian trio will feature for G-League affiliate teams and could earn call-ups as the season progresses.

Show Me My Cross
On a hill overlooking Nagasaki, Japan there is a museum and monument that was built in 1962 to commemorate twenty-six Christian martyrs who were crucified on the hill in 1597.
These martyrs, who were cruelly abused and then marched 480 miles from Kyoto to Nagasaki, arrived to see their crosses already erected and waiting for them. Two of the condemned were young boys, one twelve and the other thirteen years old.
The story goes, that upon arriving at the hill, one of the young believers simply said, "Show me my cross." To which, the other echoed, "Show me mine."
These two young boys dramatically and tragically embodied the hard and challenging words that Jesus declared to his followers in the Gospel of Matthew:
"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me."
Artist Makoto Fujimura has noted that the words "Show me my cross," make up a statement that every Christian ought to be able to say to the world around them. But, the act of placing our identity as a follower of Jesus above all else, however, is a task not many of us relish.
Author Adele Ahlberg Calhoun writes:
"In a world in which people want to do things their own way, [following Jesus] has fallen on hard times.
For far too many of us, our notions of what it means to be a Christian are wrapped up in living comfortably with our faith as opposed to dying to ourselves and following Jesus.
We define ourselves as Christians through our careers, relationships, our political affiliation or even the kind of church we attend, and all of these things are prioritized ahead of our true identity.
But who are we, really?
We are a rag-tag band of broken misfits, rescued by grace, empowered by God's great love and stumbling after Jesus---a bunch of ragamuffins, who confidently declare with one unwavering voice, "Show me my cross."
May you find ways today to let go of all of the things that keep you from truly "taking up your cross" to live in humility and deference to the Way of Jesus. May you discover your true self in this act of self-denial.
And may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you now and always. Amen.

Wembley: What subsequent for England and the Soccer Affiliation?
Wembley: What subsequent for England and the Soccer Affiliation?
Wembley: What subsequent for England and the Soccer Affiliation?
Fulham proprietor Khan assured of Wembley buy
Wembley Stadium: dwelling to the England males’s soccer crew, the FA Cup last and the venue for a number of high-profile gigs.
A snip on the £900m Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars proprietor Shahid Khan is predicted to pay for it? Or a wonderful deal for the Soccer Affiliation seeking to promote it?
However what would a sale imply for the England crew? Will English soccer lose its traditions? And what is going to the FA do with the cash?
Will Wembley nonetheless host cup finals?
The NFL season begins in September and runs till the start of February. Ought to Jaguars proprietor Khan buy the stadium, it means the brand new landlords would require a income stream all through the summer season.
Khan says he understands the “worth and custom” of Wembley and it might make monetary and business sense for each he and the FA to proceed internet hosting finals there.
The League Cup last historically takes place on the finish of February, with the FA Cup last – plus competitions such because the FA Trophy, FA Vase and Soccer League play-offs – coming in Could, whereas the Neighborhood Protect precedes the Premier League season in August.
An ideal match within the Wembley calendar?
The place will England play?
In his letter to FA council members, FA chairman Greg Clarke mentioned any deal would see Wembley stay the house of the England crew, however with the choice of extra video games “on the street”.
There may be the potential for fixtures scheduled in worldwide breaks throughout the winter to conflict with NFL video games, which means England must relocate.
However the six years England spent on the street whereas Wembley was beneath building between 2001 and 2007 the place welcomed by followers in different components of the nation.
Former England supervisor Sam Allardyce can also be an advocate of enjoying some worldwide video games exterior the capital.
“There’d should be a sure contract that makes certain Wembley continues to be Wembley and cup finals are nonetheless performed there, (some) worldwide video games there,” he mentioned.
“However travelling throughout the nation would stability that off very, very properly. With the additional cash coming into the FA, spent in the suitable approach on improvement, grassroots and soccer typically, that might be an excellent factor.”
Hodgson can be ‘upset’ if England stopped enjoying at Wembley
Does not each FA have its personal nationwide stadium?
No. In actual fact, the FA didn’t personal the previous Wembley till 1999.
A number of the most profitable European nationwide groups, akin to Germany and Spain, unfold their video games across the nation, whereas the Stade de France in Paris is owned by a consortium to whom the federal government pays an annual subsidy.
In the meantime, Italy play at Stadio Olimpico, shared by Serie A golf equipment Roma and Lazio and owned by the Italian Nationwide Olympic Committee.
England are additionally the one crew among the many dwelling nations whose FA owns the nationwide stadium.
Wales’ video games usually happen on the Cardiff Metropolis Stadium, owned by the membership, whereas Northern Eire’s Windsor Park was redeveloped utilizing authorities funding however is the property of Linfield, who obtain £200,000 yearly from the Irish Soccer Affiliation.
Scotland’s Hampden Park house is owned by third-tier aspect Queen’s Park. The Scottish FA pays £800,000 a 12 months – £308,907 of which works to the membership by way of Hampden Park Restricted – to lease the bottom, however is in talks with Queen’s Park to purchase it.
So was promoting Wembley at all times the plan?
In line with Michael Cunnah, the previous chief government officer of Wembley Stadium, promoting the stadium was at all times thought-about an possibility.
“We went into the Wembley Stadium construct with the intention of sooner or later making a income stream that might assist to develop grassroots soccer,” he defined.
“Whether or not you try this by taking income yearly or taking a capital sum, which is now proposed, it’s the selection of the FA.”
The bid comes with the FA’s newest monetary outcomes exhibiting it nonetheless owes £113m to public our bodies akin to Sport England, the Division of Tradition, Media and Sport and the London Improvement Company.
The proposed deal would see the governing physique proceed to run the £300m-valued Membership Wembley hospitality enterprise which helped generate a £58.2m revenue within the monetary 12 months till July 2017.
Nevertheless, the quantity raised by occasions held at Wembley fell by £6.5m from the earlier time period, with fewer reveals and fewer England video games happening.
The FA mentioned in January it might end paying for the bottom by the top of 2024, and Cunnah says the organisation is in a superb place.
“They do not should promote the stadium, to allow them to dictate some phrases which work for them,” he added.
“I’d counsel in the event that they promote the stadium for some huge cash and nonetheless have all of the revenue from their matches, then they appear to have a superb deal.”
The place will the cash be used?
The FA says if the sale of Wembley is accredited all proceeds can be held in belief by the organisation, in governance with stakeholders, Sport England and the federal government, to “guarantee they’re allotted to closing the services hole and constructing neighborhood property”.
The cash is predicted to be invested by the FA into the grassroots recreation, with a doubtlessly big impact on the supply of coaches, coach educators, synthetic pitches and cash to revamp services.
The primary of the FA’s Parklife grassroots soccer hubs in Sheffield may present the blueprint for additional developments.
Opened in 2016, the FA mentioned the centre can be a part of a possible £200m funding in such initiatives over the next 5 years.
In a letter on Friday, Clarke mentioned one in seven video games was misplaced to the climate throughout the winter months and just one in three pitches in England was deemed ample to play on.
Synthetic pitches can deal with extra matches per week, in addition to combating the inevitable disruption brought on by frozen and waterlogged surfaces throughout the harsh winter months.
Extra funding in synthetic pitches means extra alternatives to play.
Shahid Khan purchased Fulham in 2013
What about different occasions on the stadium?
Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift will grace the nationwide stadium’s hallowed turf (or no less than a well-constructed stage) later this 12 months, whereas Beyonce, Adele, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and the Stone Roses have appeared there in current instances.
In complete, Wembley hosted 32 occasions throughout its final monetary calendar.
Regardless of it solely opening 11 years in the past, Khan has instructed the stadium wants an improve whether it is to supply the type of state-of-the-art fan expertise concert-goers demand.
Advertising reveals isn’t prone to fall beneath most soccer associations’ remits, however the FA wanted the income generated from such high-profile occasions to maintain the maintenance of the stadium.
By promoting Wembley, the FA can go that process on to its new house owners whereas persevering with to learn from the cash generated via its Membership Wembley packages.

Leave Beyonce Alone!! :’((((
I'd like to start out with that I had never seen Lemonade before class time. I knew some of the songs and I knew it was about Jay-z cheating on her. To be honest I didn't really know it was a movie album either, probably because I never had HBO or Tidal. I had only seen the music videos for “Hold Up” and “Formation”. Some of the key points of the discussion in class that interested me were the role of capitalism, its truth to feminism, and the idolization of Beyonce herself. I argue that Beyonce made this album for very selfish reasons.
Selfish conveys a negative connotation, yet it is an inherent principle of American society; individualism. Those principles manifest all aspects that make up American society; jobs, food, education, black friday, tickets to Hamilton god d****t! What I am getting at is that yes, Beyonce made a very intimate album, then made it exclusive for the purpose of making more money off of it. That is the beauty of the selfishness of American society. The fact that a black woman, and quoting Malcolm X from the movie, black women are the most poorly treated people in American society. This ties into the feminist perspective of the film which will be addressed later. She is one of the highest paid artists in the history of music, and that is an amazing accomplishment for a black woman of 2017. However, she is in the elite class. She is now able to take advantage of the benefits of the system that were originally designed for the white man to succeed. Yes she's already filthy rich but her music is still her brand, and this movie album is her IphoneX. She, as a black woman, can determine who and how many people will be able to watch to be able to make the most money.
Feminism is such a broad, broad topic that the conversation can jump to any tangent. I believe the movie was coming from an intersectional perspective. There were representations of upper class and lower class african americans, black women, black children, queers, etc. For an international superstar, this work portrays feminism on way deeper levels than say, Taylor Swift, Adele, or Nicki Minaj. Rihanna is the only other female pop star I can think of who demonstrates similar sentiments in her work. I would also like to talk about the point of her portrayal of the angry black female stereotype in “Hold Up”. I like that she made this video. I think the criticism that it is too parallel to hyper masculine behavior or the emotions of men is uncomparable. Anger is a fundamental emotion of human nature, cross-culturally. To say she cannot be angry or feel anger is inherently racist or sexist. Yes, women feel anger, and yes black women feel anger. Doesn't Miley Cyrus sit on a wrecking ball and demolish a building in one of her videos? Don't Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss box each other in a music video? Yes, the answer is yes. I think anger is a beneficial quality to the black woman and all women in today’s day because it gets stuff done and is often more powerful than people think.
My final thought is that all of this discussion has to do with one thing; the idolization of Beyonce. We are literally only discussing Lemonade right now because of it’s affiliation with Beyonce. If Beyonce’s magic hadn't graced this album, then the discussion would be completely different. People repeatedly said, “Jay-z” is so stupid” or “who would cheat on Beyonce”, etc. Those are things you say to your friend when someone cheats on them, you know, to talk them up and stuff. And here we are saying the same thing about someone we have absolutely no idea how she is in real life. The way she acts on the cameras and through her work is just a depiction, just what she wants us to see of her. And we’re talking like we know the ins and outs of their marriage. This also ties into the financial aspect of the movie. Some people criticized her for pricing it expensively and not making it available to the general public. Wouldn't you want your artistic friends to make as much money possible off their art as they can? Or any work for that matter, whether it be a book or a small business. We want the underdog, everyday person to win. Of course Beyonce is not an underdog or everyday person. Yet, that is the whole point of the movie, that she is a normal person who experiences normal emotion, stages of life, relationships, etc.

Is Your Website Your Own Worst Enemy?
One of my favorite things is obscure foreign colloquialisms that accurately describe commonplace emotions or actions, that defy English definition. Currently, the Danish word Hygge is all the cozy rage and describes the feeling of warm contentment derived from enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Schadenfreude, the act of taking pleasure from another person’s misfortune, is another example, which makes me think: there has to be a word for when your website causes you to lose customers.
That beautiful and expensive site you invested in a few years ago is conspiring against your SEO and PPC efforts and in this post, we will delve into how you can undo some of the treachery. Specifically, we will look at the following areas of betrayal:
Site speed
Image & media content
Broken or excessive code
Mobile experience
Site Speed & Load Time
Site speed is the length of time it takes for a web browser to download the content of a website from the hosting site. While load time references the length of time after the user clicks or enters a URL for the content of a website to load and be visible. In 2010, Google made site speed a ranking factor in their SERP algorithms, in addition to many other factors, like landing page relevancy, external links to the page and number of baby animal photos.
Site speed and load time are crucial factors in online performance for both lead gen and ecommerce businesses. For example, the digital performance management company, Soasta, published an analysis that showed even 1 second of reduced page load time can equate to 27% increase in conversion rate.
So, what is considered a “good time? The most prevalent answer across most studies is around 2 – 6 seconds, but this might not a universal answer. Your product might be time inelastic. This is a twist on an economic term, price inelastic, usually referring to goods or services that have very little change in demand when the price fluctuates. In my adoption of this term, time inelastic means that you might have a grace period of load time because you have a unique product that is unavailable elsewhere, or your audience is conditioned to long wait times, or you have content that is consistently high quality and worth the time to load. For instance, I have a client that repairs heavy duty machinery and their website has shown a larger window of load time is still considered acceptable to the audience of users that desperately need those services.
2 seconds, 10 seconds, who cares?
However, this theory only applies to a rare subset of businesses. There are many stats that show consumers are increasingly impatient: 40% of people abandon a website that takes longer than 3 seconds to load, 52% of online shoppers state that quick site speed is a factor in brand loyalty, and 79% of online shoppers will not return to a site to buy again if they had a poor website experience.
Luckily, Google has a robust, free tool that will identify the many ways your site is holding you back and tips for how to remedy the issue.
Other tools include Pingdom and WebPageTest.
Web developers are familiar with the very technical issues of complex scripts, third party tools, and plugins that cause delays. Additionally, there might be issues with the responsiveness of your web host. In general, there are quite a few improvements that can be made to a site if you have a working knowledge of programming language. Nevertheless, we will focus on some of the more basic and common sources of site speed deception that are a little easier to understand.
Optimize Image & Other Media
This is a sensitive topic for business owners since websites are such a visual medium it is hard to resist the temptation to saddle a page with as many stunning, colorful images as possible. These beautiful images and videos require a lot of bandwidth to load their many pixels and large file sizes, which adds superfluous seconds to site speed. The solution is to compress the file size of your images and reevaluate the necessity of all the visuals on your site.
There are many free image compression websites available online, such as Compressor.io, but be warned that you are uploading your proprietary images to a free online tool, there is no guarantee that your image is not going to become a part of a database of stock images. If you want to invest some money on something a little more private, you could try Kraken.
Cut The Clutter Code
There is a plethora of wonderful tools and plugins that can help make a website look better or make social sharing easier. There are tools that can help you target what files are the largest and therefore, require the most load time, such as OctaGate Site Timer.
If you use some of these plugins and find they are valuable, please proceed! But occasionally, we add a new and shiny feature, but do not evaluate the end result. An audit of all the widgets, plugins and special features of your site can be a healthy exercise every year to make sure your site is not loading unnecessary code.
Another type of clutter that can hinder site performance, is affiliate ads. The code needed to launch the ads can add loading time for your customer, but it can also degrade the experience once on the site itself. The revenue that is generated by featuring affiliate ads must be evaluated with possible loss of revenue due to slower website navigation.
Reduce The Number Of Redirects
Remember during the Oscars when LaLa Land was announced as Best Picture, but the real winner was Moonlight and as the drama unfolded, we the audience were baffled, confused and tired after a 3+ hour show? That is kind of like what a redirect feels like to your browser.
A redirect is a when your site gives instructions to take you to automatically take you to another web address. Common reasons for redirects include when you change URLs, or you want to redirect people that forget to type in the “www.” into the URL bar, or if you have multiple domains to protect your brand. Nevertheless, redirects can take additional time for browsers to read and process. Recommendations include removing redirect chains, reducing the volume of internal links that point to other URLs (which you see a lot of here today!), and eliminating unneeded redirects. Further guidance for applying these recommendations can be found here.
Create Mobile Friendly Pages
In 2015, while we were trying still recovering from multiple plays of Adele’s album, Google was tweaking their search algorithm to give preferential treatment to sites that are mobile friendly.
The gentle push from Google was necessary as 65% of US citizens own mobile devices and a good mobile experience keeps the masses happy. Mobile friendly sites need to be scaled down to the screen size of a mobile device, all forms and widgets must be easier to use without involving scrolling, zooming or pinching. There are many behind the scene factors that make a good mobile experience, such as, minifying code, using browser caching and having fewer images on a mobile site. Some of these recommendations can be found in a report generated by Google that tests mobile site speed, which can be found here.
Conclusion
Your website is often your customers’ first interaction with your brand and no one wants to wait to learn more. It is counterintuitive, but users would rather leave a slow site with the right content to check other sites that give them less quality but at a faster rate. A conversation with your web developers can make your site more efficient and easier to access, which will ultimately lead to more customer engagement.

So, what is considered a “good time”?

Tent of Promise Blessing the Darling River in Wilcannia NSW
Tent of Promise Darling River Blessing Wilcannia NSW, March 2019
Contributed by Adele Kenyon
Gathered in the dry riverbed of the once mighty Darling River this past week were a handful of sojourners from Queensland who had driven 1,500 kilometres to the tired town of Wilcannia in far western New South Wales.
YouTube Video: TENT OF PROMISE – Entering Wilcannia 2019
For this small group the township of Wilcannia was the focal destination of their long drive: with their hearts set on praying and prophesying for the revival of the once mighty river and its communities from this spiritual starting point – gleaned after a sustained period of prayerfulness over several months in their home base up north.
Led by Bishop Barry Cunnington, Founder of The Tent of Promise Incorporated, based in southern Queensland, the small team of Christian supporters strongly believe their prophetic/prayer mission begun this month in Wilcannia will usher in not only a revived and flowing river, but a spiritual reawakening within the Wilcannia community and beyond.
Bishop Cunnington trusts this is a pivotal season for Christian renewal around Australia and believes the seed of blessing sown this week and symbolically poured directly into the dry Darling River riverbed in Wilcannia will herald a new era of reawakening to spiritual truth tied with genuine reconciliation. He explains the spiritual foundation for the belief as being in the Holy Bible (defined as God’s Word to a holy people). One verse consolidating the stance is in 2 Chronicles 7:14, found in the Old Testament of the Bible. The verse is cited below.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
To bless the river the team prayed together in the riverbed near the Wilcannia Bridge on Thursday, led by Bishop Cunnington, who invited a Christian representative of Australia’s indigenous/Aboriginal community to prophesy in partnership with he and Wilcannia’s local minister, Pastor Seta, of the Australian Aboriginal Outreach Ministries (AAOM). The indigenous intercessor present was Hazel Morgan, formerly of Pinnacle Pocket in the Northern Territory and now residing in Brisbane.
Mrs Morgan’s representation of Australia’s indigenous peoples was itself significant, said Bishop Cunnington – as the pair had both been present at a 1999 gathering at Yulara near Uluru as part of a Christian reconciliation event organised by the Australian Christian Pastor’s Prayer Network. This year represents the 20th anniversary of that Yulara event.
To complete the blessing of the Darling River the three appointed representatives together poured olive oil and red wine into the riverbed, followed by the pouring of clean water. Bishop Cunnington said the oil signified “the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our nation” while the red wine signified “the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse the earth” with the oil and wine “coming together to heal our land and our nation”.
“The pouring out of the water signifies the welling up of water to flood and fill the River Valley again, in the mighty name of Jesus,” Bishop Cunnington said, adding that this is being fulfilled “as God’s people pray for this town.”
“We have the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to bring this (water/healing) today to earth… So today, prophetically, we release that full river of Heaven to flow here in this land,” he said.
YouTube Video: TENT OF PROMISE – Blessing The River Darling, Wilcannia March 2019
As the TOP team continues to trust that these faithful steps into the riverbed at Wilcannia will spark a nationwide revival which will well up and out of Australia’s rural and indigenous heartland, out of “country” — the members of the team also have faith in the renewal of the Darling River from the red centre through God’s grace.
The team believes the reawakening that will potentially radiate from the Australian heartland/red centre to bush and coastal areas around Australia will usher in a spiritual revival around the nation. This could be a spiritual link to a prophetic word made more than four centuries ago over the south sea lands by Portuguese explorer, Pedro Fernandez De Quiros, who in 1606 hoisted a banner in the New Hebrides and proclaimed this region and lands beyond it as the “Terra Australis del Espiritu Santu”, the last two Spanish words meaning “Holy Spirit”. De Quiros reportedly thought he was in the island -continent of Australia. (Reference:https://christianfaith.com/lookout/sacred-australia or TACL Vol 27 #1 2006).
In more recent times, a popular Australian Christian song, “The Great South Land of the Holy Spirit”, written by Geoff Bullock, features lyrics echoing the Portuguese explorers’ proclamation. The song’s chorus captures the essence:
“This is the Great Southland of the Holy Spirit
A land of red dust plains and summer rains
To this sunburnt land we will see a flood
And to this Great Southland His Spirit comes”.

A snip on the £900m Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars proprietor Shahid Khan is predicted to pay for it? Or a wonderful deal for the Soccer Affiliation seeking to promote it?

Will Wembley nonetheless host cup finals?
The NFL season begins in September and runs till the start of February. Ought to Jaguars proprietor Khan buy the stadium, it means the brand new landlords would require a income stream all through the summer season.
