gonna finally get a cane sometime after i move in with my gf (i've felt like i'd benefit from having one for years now but i've been worried my family would say i don't need one, that i'm "too young" for one or that relying on it would just make me "more disabled" etc.) and i'm so happy thinking about it sometimes that it makes me cry a little. i won't always need it but it'll be such a huge relief at times when i do. i have pretty much constant back pain and can't walk for very long without feeling like i need to lie down (and going out and moving around for even an hour will have me in excruciating pain for like 2-3 days afterwards), and now sometimes my knees start hurting out of nowhere. i'm hoping a little bit of that will go away once i build up some strength from being more active again, but it'll only get worse if i don't have a mobility aid when i feel like i need one
