I keep getting recommends about the like homoerotic master/devotee dynamic and it got me thinking about the dynamic of Yankee being like okitas dog. Which is true in some ways but I also don’t think it is. Like objectively yes yankee acts like his dog the manner in which Okita adopts him into the shinsengumi is like that of a kid who found a puppy on the side of the road “oh please I’ll take really good care of him I’ll feed and water him please please pleaaase” . Yankee is very defensive over Okita and would protect him with his life. But I don’t think of yankee as okitas attack dog they defend against threats as peers and as partners, I think yankee protects Okita not as a subservient dog but the way you are really protective over the frog you picked up off the ground like I love this little guy and I am not letting any harm come to him.

The bento counter clip you shared is EXTREMELY funny (if it's not a glitch I'd love to try and trigger it), but I couldn't help notice the flower petal-shaped particles in Jo's "heat trail" for the first time. I somehow managed to overlook them until now.

RGGJo also has petals in his heat trail, and personally I've always liked to link it to the fact he canonically wears perfume. What if 7Jo wears a floral scent too...? Would be neat, given I can't tell which of them is supposed to be the one with the sensitive nose lol

Jo’s counter is actually a programmed thing from my understanding: he is meant to deflect regular/MPless attacks and items, but considering most people use exclusively special attacks at this point I reckon not a lot of people catch it (and as for items, you’re either using a rocket launcher/projectile or you’re too far for him to do... that LMAO). Still, it’s going to entertain me for a while the fact he CAN just cancel your healing

And I’m SO glad you noticed the petals too! I didn’t catch that they were a thing for RGGJo as well, but I thought they were a cute detail for Y7Jo when I first noticed them a while back! It’s especially sweet if we put it in the context of a reference to him and perfume :)

Indra

He was a mystery to everyone, even to you as well. Indra was the one who found you alone isolated from everyone else. He was laid back at first sight and you had thought he wanted to fight. This made you realize that there was someone else similar to you and noticed your existence.

You continuously watched him train around Brahma and Vishnu while he didn’t mind you watching you, he found it rather cute you followed him around curiously.

This made you and him grow rather close and fond over the years of being isolated from others and choosing to be in each other's silent comfort. He liked smoking and you didn’t mind him doing what he wanted. However, a part of him didn’t like Rudra making advances on you despite he didn’t know you already were Indra’s.

Indra had told him in a nice way to buzz off or else. You smiled while you stood back watching the two men fight. You were unaware of what they were talking about, but Rudra shrugged his shoulders before leaving the summit of Svarga.

You saw Indra sit down a bit farther from where you were. He didn’t look too happy but he grabbed another cigarette and lit it using his lightning. “What were you talking about? He looked upset?” You had asked while sitting next to him, but Indra had put one arm around your waist to pull you closer. Your face was flustered but you soon relaxed in his embrace.

“Do you like me being here?” You asked and he was silent for a moment.

“Ya? Why?” Indra puffed out some smoke. He brought one leg up to his chest to rest his other arm on his knee.

“I don’t know… it sometimes felt like I been annoying you too much. Sometimes I wonder if I’m your type or something…” you muttered even though he still was holding you.

He didn’t say anything but you could hear him clear his throat from the smoke. “If you annoyed me, I would’ve let Rudra have you.” He was a quiet man but that made your head perk up from his answer.

“Have me?” you didn’t know someone else was trying to pursue you. You were just a normal goddess of the Hindu pantheon.

“Stop worrying about that. Or whatever my type is. I like what I have right here,” he didn’t face you but you noticed the small curve in his lips turn upwards. You were satisfied and reassured that he likes living in the moment and preferred your company than being alone.

Buddha

You have known Siddhartha ever since King Jakata introduced you to him. You were a common lower-ranking girl with family and relatives who knew the King.

Jakata was a kind man who cared for his people and interacted with many commoners. However, you didn’t care for Prince Siddhartha in the beginning, but he acted like you must get to know him to like him. He was persistent and you were stubborn.

Siddhartha was the one that was blunt asking for your hand in marriage to end his arrangements with other high-ranking families that wanted to wed their daughters to him and get whatever they wanted. Wealth, fortune, and a nice home. You told him no, but he kept trying every day to see if you changed your mind.

Eventually, his annoying presence became your everyday routine. After King Jakata’s death, he wanted to travel and explore the vast limitless outside world and save humans from insufferable fate. He was going to forbid his farewell and never see you again. You asked him to take you with him to get away from your old life as well. You said this without thinking and immediately covered your face. Siddhartha laughed, but only on one condition and he would allow you to travel with him.

You have to accept his proposal to be his wife. This made you hesitate but you also wanted to leave your home desperately. You had agreed in the end just so you could leave your boring home.

After he left everything behind except for you, he started to oppose other religions that imposed fate upon innocent beings. He would protect humans and create his own religion. You watched him save others without any significant doubt. He obtained his enlightenment this way and you were slowly fascinated with this new man that calls himself the Buddha.

“Hey! Wait up!” you found him near a tree taking a break while eating and reading some novel. He didn’t even give you an eye glance but it didn’t bother you how absorbed he was with his book.

“Buddha-chan, why are you here? We were supposed to be travelling on the road.” You sat down next to him.

“Why? There’s no rush, sit and try these.” He offered you whatever he was eating. Dry peaches? Did he like these? Your eye twitched but you reluctantly tried the fruit and it had a really sweet flavour. You made a sour look after trying it. Buddha laughed at your reaction knowing you weren’t as fond of such treats.

You frowned before speaking, “may I ask you something?” You leaned more into him while your head was practically propped on his shoulder. He treated you with such care and always looked out for you whenever he could.

“Hmm?” he hummed.

“Why did you want me to be your wife for so long? You had everything handed to you and I had… nothing. I wasn’t anyone special. I didn’t think we were compatible together or if I was your type.” You heard him burst out into a laughing fit next to you causing you to jump.

“You looked kind of lonely, it’s not about having everything to keep myself happy. I bring happiness to others, I didn’t like seeing how sheltered you were. Anyway, enough of that, let's get going, ey? Also… stop with the gloomy look. I didn’t particularly understand the type question either.” His answer wasn’t what you had expected but you learned a few things while being with him, he cared a lot for others happiness, including yours. So he thought you wanted company?

“Why did you think I would ever want your company?” You stuck your bottom lip out as you pouted but he cupped your cheeks with both hands.

“I thought you already knew me by now. I told you before that you should get to know me first before judging.” He leaned his head against yours affectionately. Your face was red but he’s more affectionate when it’s nighttime.

Okita

You had known him since you two were kids. Kondo adopted him when he was nine years old after being abandoned by his sister. You were just another kid attending his dojo and looked after by Kondo. After hearing what happened to Souji, you felt incredibly sorry for him. You had told him if he ever needed someone, he could rely on you. Souji was a silent kid for a while and helped around the dojo. Whenever you needed help with something, he would immediately help you.

Over the years, you developed more feelings for him and what killed you on the inside is if he ever felt the same. You had previously turned down Nagakura who wanted to take you out for drinks. It honestly, broke your heart even more with how much you enjoyed being in his company while worrying if he thinks of you as an older sister.

As you were alone minding your own business cleaning the floors with the broom, Hijikata walked over to you unbeknownst to what he was gonna ask, “why are you cleaning? That’s Souji’s job,” he gave you an annoyed look as if you don’t live at the dojo. You had been cleaning the dojo before Souji even joined it.

“Let her clean. I’d rather the floors look nice than dirty,” Yamanami rolled his eyes. You heard Hijikata mutter ‘whatever’ before asking Heisuke to spar with him. This must’ve been the fifth time today he asked someone to spar against him and lost each time. You noticed Souji was outside with Kondo talking to one another.

Your heart clenched a bit as you held onto the broom tighter. Why couldn’t you say anything? You honestly wanted to know if he was even into girls, to begin with. He seemed more happy about swordsmanship than you anyway.

Nagakura walked over to you after his workout against Hajime. He placed one arm over your shoulders causing you to freeze in your place. “So… how about we go somewhere tonight?” Go somewhere? You looked behind you and saw Souji looking at you and Nagakura curiously. Oh no…

“N-No, I um… am busy tonight!” You stepped away politely declining him yet again. You know Souji watched that encounter and you have no words. You quickly disappeared to go back to your hidden spot outside away from everyone.

Great you finally were alone and noticed how quiet the area was. Maybe you can finally clear your head before heading back— “hey, why did you run off?” an awfully familiar voice said behind you. The leaves crunching under his feet were loud enough for you to scowl.

“I just wanted to be alone.” You turned your head but he didn’t say anything about the incident that occurred earlier. He stopped to look at what you were doing. You had grabbed some of the flowers and were picking the petals off of them.

“You don’t have to be here, you can go check back on Kondo-san.” You shrugged as you sat down by one of the trees. He walked over to you and decided to do what you were doing out of boredom as well. Was he just mimicking you? Souji always appreciated you and tried to make your day better if you were upset. He was always there if you needed someone.

“You don’t like Nagakura-san?” he finally brought the topic up. An awkward topic. You shook your head.

“Well, not in that way… I’m sure he will find someone. What about you? Don’t you have a type or interest in girls?” Your question took him off guard. He never really had time for such things and you were the only girl he really talked to.

“Type? I don’t know..”

“You don’t get the question?” you frowned.

“No, I do. I just don’t know what my type would be. Someone who’s nice? Likes cats? Who can eat Kondo’s food…” he was playing with your head again. You were all those things and yet he was smiling like an idiot thinking about it.

“So someone like me?” You pointed to yourself but you soon regretted that and quickly turned your head. His mouth gaped open without realizing what you meant. Were you joking?

“Hmm well… sure!” he chuckled which you hope he meant it.

“So that means you like girls?” you curiously asked and he tilted his head.

“Huh? You think I’m gay?”

“What—?! No! I was just curious…” you sulked your head lower from embarrassment.

“I like girls, so don’t worry about it.” he gave you the most innocent smile which brought you some reassurance. He certainly caught on to what you’ve been worried about. Thank god…

Hades

Living in the netherworld had many cons than pros. Yet, the most fun part was you got to do what you wanted but that was before Hades took over the shithole of Helheim. You practically couldn’t do what you wanted anymore. He kept questioning you and asking why you— a human was doing in Helheim. Even though he already knew the answer. You just liked dodging his questions.

You didn’t like him at all in the beginning and kept arguing with him. Why couldn’t he have ended you? Maybe he liked your presence or he missed your annoying face harping at him whenever you wanted.

Hades had put up with you for so long, that he even offered you to live in his castle seeing that you travelled a lot in the underworld. You got into many dangerous situations but you refused to live in his castle. However, to him, this seemed amusing how he is normally a feared man and you showed no signs of care about his existence.

“You’re infuriating, why do you keep finding me in the most odd places?” You sat down near the dark forest that was several miles away from his castle.

“You forget that I’m the King of the Netherworld. You’ve been disturbing some of the demons nearby. You’ll get yourself killed,” Hades sighed and was feeling hopeless with your stubbornness. He was supposed to protect this place and many of the monsters that resided in his world, wouldn’t dare attack him. However, they tried to attack you many times. The last time caused a significant wound near your side from the unexpected attack from a large hydra that nearly killed you.

“So what if I get killed, I was sent here to die anyway with no explanation whatsoever. I heard there’s even another human here as well,” you thought hard about who the human was named but you had forgotten.

“Michel Nostradamus? He destroyed part of the Bifrost. As for you? You strictly walked down here on your own somehow you passed the wall. Once you’re down here, you can’t ever return to Valhalla. You’re decisions seem stupid, however, if you need someone to talk to, you know where I am. And lastly, stop what you’ve been doing.” He warns and as he was about to turn away and return to his castle.

“Fine, it’s just boring. You’re one of the few that doesn’t try to kill me on sight.” You stood up on your feet.

“My invitation is still there if you wish to stay somewhere permanently under my rules.” He had a grin plastered on his face.

“Ya ya, whatever. I get it, Mr King of the Underworld..” you rolled your eyes. Under normal circumstances, anyone who dared to disrespect Hades would’ve been punished. He sighed, allowing you to follow him back. The walk back was mostly you talking nonstop and getting distracted by the things around you two.

The guards of his castle greeted Hades but scowled when they saw you with him. “Rude…” you pouted.

You noticed how the castle was dark on the inside and barely anyone lived in the castle other than himself and his brother Adamantine, which Hades had told you. “Looks incredibly depressing here. Don’t you have a wife to be your home decor? Everything seems so empty here,” you saw how dusty some of the cabinets were.

“Wife? I’m sure if I had one, she wouldn’t let you stay here.” You pretended to act hurt but muttered a whatever at his statement.

“Let me decorate these rooms then? Hm?” You offered but Hades waved you off to do whatever but not do anything chaotic.

The next few days you had changed around some of the rooms to look less creepy. You still continuously witnessed him alone in his room reading or making reports. You wondered what he even made reports for. How does he even rule over such a dead place? “What are you doing?” Hades saw you watching him from behind the door peeking over.

“Seeing how bored you are staring at a bunch of words on a sheet of paper.” You tilted your head to the side and smiled at him. He was irritated but it wasn’t enough to shout at you.

“Why don’t you give me company then? Only if you don’t try to get on my nerves,” He offered which you snorted and stepped into his sight.

“Okay!” You two sat a bit far apart except you were on a floor cushion and he sat in his chair. After a few minutes, you wanted to ask him why he chose to be alone.

“Doesn’t it get lonely here? Also, why isn't someone like you married? Actually, never mind. I don't think any woman would like to live in a creepy haunted castle… It’s honestly starting to make me worry,” you sucked in a breath. Hades raised a curious brow at your question. Lonely? Not married? He was used to it. There’s no women in the underworld and you were the only one.

“No,” he responded solemnly. “It doesn’t get lonely here. As for the other question, nobody had caught my eye.” He kept it vague and tried to avoid anything too personal about himself.

“Caught your eye? So that means you must have a type then! Like me? Cute and annoying?” You were making him want to snap his pen in half.

“Shut up or you can leave,” he wondered back on what you meant by type. He probably would feel more lonely without someone like you around. Did you keep him on his toes more? He was curious more about you and how strong are you. There were so many things he wanted to know and explore but take it slow.

“Fine.. I’ll leave.” You stood up realizing you ticked him off.

“Wait, why don’t you tell me more about yourself instead of asking your king dumb questions.” He gave you a smug look but you looked back at him and nodded. Of, course you’ll yap in his ears but he’ll get used to it. He hoped.

Note: wow this took 2 days… I’m sorry! I tried. I’m working on a few new one shots next. Dunno when part 3 will come yet.

Just watched M27 (in cinema! That was cool!!) And oh boy, thoughts!

First of all, I was sooo excited to watch this anime movie in an actual cinema, with other people who were also there to watch an anime movie (in an actual real cinema). Idk, I often still feel like liking anime is something embarrassing, even tho it becomes more and more mainstream, so seeing 20 or so people who also openly announced that they liked it was amazing.

Now, to the actual content of the film:

Love Love LOVE Heiji and Kaito's dynamic here. He was so angry that he drove his fucking motorbike through a window!!

The fact that the KaiShin same face thing is something Heiji is surprised by is very weird, considering that he knew that Kaito always disguises as Shinichi in movies (and yes, the movies have their own continuity, see the fireworks-soccer-ball!!)

Additionally, I watched this film in the German dub. In German, Conan and Shinichi have the same VA, and Ksito has a different one. Still, Heiji makes a note of Kaito sounding similar to Conan (their German VAs do NOT sound similar!!!)

(On that note, they replaced the German VA for Kogoro and I am scared to google why :(( )

Also in the German introduction, Conan LITERALLY calls Kaito his "fated rival" ("schicksalhafter Gegenspieler"), which is very gay for the movie that completely reveals them as cousins.

Kaito feeding seagulls. Just that. It was funny. This is what happens when he has to leave his doves at home. He is a disney princess but only for birds.

Loved the scene where Kaito was attacked while on the ground and was shown to be out of his depth. Catch him on the ground and he is a wingless bird.

Additionally loved that scene because Heiji and Conan jumped in to save him. Their dynamic was so good, with Heiji attacking front and center, Kaito trying to shoot the attacker, and Conan coming clutch with his soccer ball. These three are so much fun together, and I love how throughout the movie they hunt Kaito in one scene, and work with him in the next.

They also alway immediately recognize his disguises??? That was hilarious. These three are one the same wavelenght and I'm all for it.

Oh speaking of disguises, I am VERY surprised nobody even mentioned Okita being the third same face triplet. Would've probably taken away from the KaiShin cousins reveal, I guess?

Minor mention: idgaf about Momiji and I never will. Useless character. Why does she even exist at all. Focus on the main characters...

Okay, I cannot keep quiet about it anymore. The entire "Ginzo gets shot" scene was THE BEST THING EVER. Kaito literally reliving the trauma of losing his parental figure again, and being unable to even SHOW IT OR VISIT HIM? Him having to silently watch as Aoko (MY GIRL IS ON THE BIG SCREEN I ALMOST CHEERED) is going through this all alone??? She probably was still in Ekoda. Did she get a phone call and was flown in to Hokkaido? WHERE THE FUCK IS MIDORIKO IN THIS?!?!?! GOD. This scene. I want 500 character studies of this scene on my desk by tomorrow morning.

That being said, with the Toichi reveal at the end, NOT ONLY did Kaito hide his emotions as he visited his mortally injured father figure in the hospital, his actual father was RIGHT THERE??? TOICHIIII YOU RAT BASTARD I WILL KILL YOU!

Why even WAS Toichi there. Legit. Ugh, I wanna do this in chronological order.

Anyways, AOKO SCREENTIME MY BELOVEEEEED

I feel like she was underused tho. Her only contribution was calling Conan Kaito's twin, and that was it. Feel like that's a running theme with DetCo focusing too much on random murder of the day and not its actual characters (something that also HIGHLY annoyed me during the Scarlet Schooltrip >_<)

Speaking of, that plotpoint was also kinda never mentioned again after the half point of the movie?

Coming towards the end of the story, the car chase with like 5 different parties through the city was hilarious. This is the stupid Shounen action I expect from DetCo movies (but not the stupidest Shounen action we'll get!)

As for the actual plot, I don't really care for that in DetCo movies, I'm more interested in the established characters doing fun and wacky shit.

Also so not a fan of the "murderer misunderstands or misreads a situation, making their murders pointless" storylines in DetCo. Tho M19 was probably the worst one in that reguard (girl what!)

Okay, so the Kendo guy. His mother died to a bombstrike, so he wants to blow up a mountain with lots of civillians on it. Because he's anti war. Girl what.

And now to the peak of Stupid Shounen Battles: swordfight atop a flying airplane, one of the combattants wears no shoes.

Absolutely LOVED Kaito catching Heiji midair. He does it with Conan, he did it with Heiji. Hakuba, you're next.

Sure, Iori just randomly DROPPED A FLASHBANG right in front of Heiji and Kazuha. Tho shout out to my girl Kazuha who was quick and smart enough to cover Heiji's ears as she "Get down Mr President"ed him.

At this point, shoutout to Ran. She gives it her all to make this Ship a thing. Loved her "casually but ominously deduce Heiji's true intentions" thing she did. Go be a love detective, honey!

Okay, the after credit scene. VERY NATURAL REVEAL you guys did there. Just casually have Yusaku suddenly say "yes, my wife whom I have been married to for at least 18 years, I have a twin brother i haven't seen in 2 decades." Wow.

-Hades- Was completely blank, almost like he was so shocked that he went blank- unable to react in any way, unable to blink. You smiled sweetly, trotting over, getting closer to him, showing him all the exposed skin up close, “What do you think?” when he didn’t answer you waved your hand in front of his eyes, finding him completely unresponsive. Aphrodite answered your call when you called only moments later, “I killed Hades!!” Aphrodite was no help, as she was laughing too hard. Hades was comatose for the rest of the day, but he wanted you to wear it again, he wanted to enjoy it this time, since the first time he was too stunned to do anything.

-Thor- If he had been holding something it would have either been dropped or shattered into a million pieces as his eyes were wide, unable to tear his eyes away from the exposed flesh of your body in such a revealing outfit. He was arguing with himself that he wasn’t going to let you go shopping with Aphrodite anymore- as these surprises weren’t good for his heart, but at the same time he was happy. Thor rushed at you, instantly getting you into his arms, your legs around his waist as you looked up at him, a shy smile on your lips, “Are we going to bed again?” he nodded, giving you an almost evil smirk, “Yes- for the next few days.”

-Okita- You overwhelmed the poor swordsman who instantly froze as you twirled, showing the amount of exposed flesh- the other dress you surprised him with before was modest compared to this!! He scrambled back from you, his eyes like cats, spooked, as you bent over a bit, your hands on your knees, “So what do you think?” he didn’t answer, but the moment you turned, showing off the ribbons on the side, he attacked, pouncing on you, making you squeal as his hands pinned your to the ground as he looked feral, like he was going to eat you, his eyes unable to stay still on your exposed flesh.

-Kintoki- Not just his face, but his whole body, almost like a temperature gauge, turned bright red, starting at his feet to the top of his head, a puff of smoke coming from the top as he quickly turned, “What are you wearing?!” you came over and as you got closer, he felt a sense of dread, as if he wasn’t going to walk away from this in full health as you hugged him from behind, your arms wrapping around him, “Do you like it- it’s the newest hot thing for couples?” he turned, seeing you looking so happy, but he tried to keep his eyes on your face, quickly failing as you turned, showing him the back. Poor boy quickly had you in his arms, “Forgive my for what I’m about to do to you Y/N!” you were confused, but happy that he was hugging you.

-QSH- His eyes went wide, only for a moment before he instantly patted his thighs, inviting you to take a seat, “Come closer- I wanna look at your new outfit!” you beamed, hearing his desire and you came over and he got a full show just you walking over to him, seeing your exposed flesh peeking out, certain bits playing peek-a-boo with him. -Anubis- Instantly howled loudly, his tongue lolling out his mouth, his eyes turning into large pulsating hearts. His reaction made you smile as you posed before you turned, showing off the bare back. Instantly on his knees before you, arms around your hips, looking up at you as if you were perfection, hearts in his eyes, babbling incoherent nonsense as his brain short circuited. You were confused, your hands on his cheeks, “Anubis? Are you okay?” his smile grew, he felt his mind going blank and you squealed as his eyes rolled to the back of his head, passing out from joy. You caught him, crying out his name, hugging his head to your chest. He was going to pass on- but go as a happy man.

I’ve been wanting to rant about this scene for a whiiiile chat. So here goes. This is from chapter 85. I’m a Loki simp so I just gotta.

I cannot get over the adorable art style change here!! He just looks so cute and playful. Yes, he’s always playful and laid back, but with Hilde, he just seems more…. Genuine. Like this is him actually trying to be friendly and make her smile. He often smiles maliciously when being snide or passive aggressive with Odin, especially when poking fun at him. Here, his smile just looks so much different. He looks pretty different from the start of the series, but it’s a very pleasant change. He still got those hips plus those amazing arms.

Hilde looks so pretty in that panel. Like my girl is just so gorgeous. I also love how Loki seems to want to actually help her. Gotta love his goofy poses.

Loki looks more sly here like he’s planning on doing more than just saving her. He just looks so smug, he thinks he’s convincing her. I just love when he floats around. He looks so cute and hot at the same time. THOSE HIIIIIIIPS THAT BACK CUUUURVE.

I’m still not quite sure how to interpret his little jig here lmao. Like Loki baby what’re you doing there??? It’s interesting how he claims to be better at convincing Odin than most, then asks her for a special favor.

I’m not surprised she interpreted this as being a transaction. He did certainly insinuate something, but given his reaction, he wasn’t trying to get her to hand over her body. Hilde my beloved. Straight up doesn’t care if she dies, since she knows that’s how Ragnarok works. Loki just looks so frustrated.

Here we get a glimpse of how petty Loki really is. He knew Siegfried is a sensitive spot for Hilde, he knew saying that would piss her off, that’s why he did it. In the exact moment she refused, he panicked and just reacted with pettiness to try and convince her to go along with his plan to save her. This shows us he really isn’t that mature. While he’s extremely intelligent and cunning, very sharp witted and analytical, he’s just immature in the long run. Loki deep down is petty and cunning in ways that gets people to do what he wants. Lemme remind y’all of season two of the anime when he’s fighting Buddha, Kondou, Sasaki, and Okita.

This scene also perplexes me. He’s seems excited to learn about this, but probably because he’s planning something malicious. He knows Siegfried is her lover, and he’s filing that away for evil plans to get at her, maybe even to try and kill Siegfried. If he takes out her lover, he might think she feels all alone and will be more inclined to go to him for help. The art here is just amazing too. That panel of him looking stunned mid smile is mwahhh.

Once again. Her LIIIPS. MWAHS. she looks amazing as ever. Her cold response is expected. She sees Loki as the enemy given he’s a god who’s against saving humanity. My goodness his reaction is so sad. Like he’s just stunned at how unfeeling she is towards him. Once again Loki, immaturity won’t do shit.

Like, I get why the shippers are upset at the news. But it is not lazy writing; most of his stories have been built over time and stretched. Just because an uncanon ship is incest does not imply he is lazy. There are other situations in the manga that imply that they have been related for years, and Gosho even stated in 2013 that there is more to unveil between these two.

Like just keep shipping them, many people sleep with their cousins.

Do you think I'm mad because of my ship? Yeah it sucks but I'll still ship them as cousins because they were never going to be canon anyway!

No, I'm mad because it was bad writing. He ruined a relationship that was fun for me, not Shinichi and Kaito but rather Toichi and Kaito a Yuusuke and Toichi. I'll get into Toichi and Yuusaku first but he's had YEARS to imply a familial relationship, it could have been implied in canon when Shinichi encountered Toichi as a child! It could have been included in past movies if he wanted to go the movie route! The first Kaito KID focused movie was based on FAMILY. It could have set up properly a long time ago! But it wasn't and I'm tried of people pretending it was. Him saying he'll explain it is NOT him setting this plot point up.

So you're telling me for no good reason (and no Toichi fighting a criminal organization is not a good excuse considering he didn't mind having a son meanwhile) Toichi and Yuusaku did not introduce their families? That Toichi, who is supposed to be important to Yuusaku, is never even mentioned?! That they didn't think it would be a good idea for Kaito to have support from someone his own age and family while he was grieving his father?! Do you really want him to be such a selfish man because I don't.

And a more personal note, I enjoy the plot of two rivals of matching intellectual prowess actually facing against one another but he's taken all that away with this reveal. He's ruined Toichi and Yuusaku's relationship for me.

And this isn't me even getting into the implications of what it means for Kaito. He idolised his father! He risks his life to bring him justice! And his father is alive and letting him! What. The. Fuck. I always knew Gosho wanted him to be alive but I had hoped that he would recognize the bad decision it would be. I'm afraid not.

And do you want to know why I think its lazy? THE SERIES IS FULL OF LOOKALIKES. Okita for example is right there! Is he a cousin too? Are Ran and Aoko cousins now? They look alike! It's even commented in the manga! Shinichi and Ran look alike.

Gosho has never been very creative with his character designs, it's a fact acknowledged by fandom, so that's why we know this him making Shinichi and Kaito cousins is a cheap excuse to disguise that.

You won't change my mind about his writing being terrible, Anon, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Round 5, Match 2: Gintoki Sakata vs. Kim Dokja

Gintoki Sakata:

1. “Gintoki is introduced to us as a depressed twenty seven year old dealing with ptsd who first adopts Shinpachi after protecting him from Amanto (aliens, who have somewhat taken over earth) who were harassing him, which led to Shinpachi losing his job, and Gintoki having to help him rescue his sister Otae from the family’s debtors. Shinpachi comes to work for Gintoki as Odd Jobs, soon joined by Kagura (an amanto herself with super strength who was working as part of gang prior to Shinpachi and Gintoki helping her leave) Kagura leaves in his house and later Gintoki allows her to get a pet dog. It’s made clear that these three are a family and more than a few episodes make it clear that Kagura seems Gintoki as her earth father (her bio dad, the strongest man in the universe, goes around the galaxy fighting monsters) and Shinpachi feels a familial connection to him as well. There’s also Hashida, a baby who looks a lot like Gintoki, whom Gintoki takes care of when the custody battle over Hashida becomes an actual battle. This includes drinking together, tying the baby to his back while fighting his way to Hashida’s mom, and Hashida crying when Gintoki leaves, after promising they’ll share a drink when Hashida is older. In a similar vein is Seita, a street kid who tries to pickpocket Gintoki but gets robbed in return and ends up working for Gintoki’s landlady (Gintoki’s own adoptive mother) and being taken care of by her and the odd jobs family as a whole, before Gintoki discovers Seita’s mother is Hinowa, the Sun of Yoshiwara and its highest ranking courtesan, and fights Housen, a crime lord who fought Kagura’s father for three days and nights until they considered it a draw, and kills him, just so Seita and Hinowa can reunite. During the timeskip late in the series, we discover after seemingly defeating the Big Bad Utsuro (an immortal who formerly was Gintoki’s adoptive father and teacher Shouyou) Gintoki spent two years raising the reincarnated Shouyou as a baby, before being given his heart to prevent Utsuro’s followers from taking it. These are just the most notable examples, pretty much any character younger than Gintoki gets taken care of or helped by him in a way, including Kagura’s older brother, temporary member of Odd Jobs Pirako, and even to an extent youngest Shinsengumi member Okita Sougo. Gintoki is positioned as acting as the same adoptive parent role as his own adopters (Shouyou and his landlady Otose) are, taking on similar burdens and making, or trying to make) similar sacrifices as well. He can be really soft with kids at times, and has at least once carried Kagura and Shinpachi away from a fight on his back.”

Kim Dokja:

1. “In the first scenario (where you have to murder something alive) his first priority is to make sure Gilyoung makes it out alive (by giving him the grasshopper before letting others know about it), and when the future version of Yoosung (41st round) is going to cause havoc his first plan is to basically the past (his present) version of her so they would have her on her side (he takes her in as his incarnation- if that isn’t an adoption idk what is); Biyoo is literally the soul of 41st Yoosung that he WENT THROUGH AN UNDERWORLD TRIAL to get her back and she is legally his child. Lee Jihye is more like the older sister-teenager of the group be she’s still adopted by association and Han Donghoon is a kid who was hypnotized and exploited by the ‘prophets’ and Kim Dokja saved him and became someone he trusts in- which is basically adopting. Mia is YJH’s little sister but with the family dynamic all of KimCom has she’s basically adopted too. This man is someone who believes the worst in himself but gives all these kids someone they need and in return they are the family he’s never had.”

2. “He saved Lee Gilyoung on the subway when he was orphaned at the time the apocalypse started even when he didn't need to and kept him by his side and fed him at his own expense and believed in him and taught him to be strong when no one else had really done that for Lee Gilyoung before.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD (pretty vague):

Shin Yoosung was a character in the world of the apocalypse that occured (long story, won't explain here lol) and she was supposed to be destined to become a monster that would destroy Seoul and the two people other than Kim Dokja who knew this wanted to kill her when they found her to prevent her from becoming that but Kim Dokja refused to kill her and physically stood to protect her and then he later became her sponsor (uhhh it's a whole thing in-universe but basically pledged to back her and help her ig) and the stigma (a special power thing that can be gained through a sponsor) he gave her was based in him protecting everyone in their group and his love for all of them.

Both Shin Yoosung and Lee Gilyoung are extremely attached to Kim Dokja and have on at least one canon occasion slept clinging to either side of him.

LESS MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD (though not terrible ig and still mostly vague at least):

Biyoo is. well she's Shin Yoosung actually but also not. So basically y'know that monster future Shin Yoosung was destined to become? so that monster version of her from a different timeline was sent backwards and sideways in time (idk how else to describe it jskdfs) and nearly did destroy Seoul as prophesied but Kim Dokja tried to save her—and he nearly did but then a shitty dokkaebi (they're like admin streamer people. idk would take a while to explain) did a shitty thing and forced her to be 'evil' and then she had to be killed ;-; but Kim Dokja promised to get revenge for her and after that he went and beat up the asshole dokkaebi who did that so badly that he gained a legendary Story. And then he traveled to the Underworld at risk of his own life to retrieve her soul and put that into a dokkaebi egg that he personally hatched. And she lost her memories for the most part but could still sense a bit what he'd done for her :') and so yeah she became Biyoo and is somehow both adopted and originally parented(?? idk saying biologically is. doesn't feel quite right lol) by him.”

You knew of the risks of trying to get close to the Lord of the Flies. You may have been pestering him around too lately or tried to get him to soften up around you.

All your efforts were for nothing but you still tried. He tells you to leave him alone most of the time while he studies in his own research room. You continued to pout as your advances were rejected yet again.

Beelzebub never tried to get to know you or why you even wanted to befriend him. Ever since Lilith and his three friends died because of him, he doesn’t want the same to happen to anyone else. Other gods feared him and he liked to live in solitude.

You still tried to get close to him. It was pissing him off and so he snapped without thinking one day. He called you the worst things a person shouldn’t ever hear. Bottom-feeder gods were better than you. You were more annoying than a fly buzzing in his ear. If it wasn’t for his desire to die so badly, he’d rather your piercing voice kill him instead.

You probably were more hurt than ever and couldn’t even bring yourself to leave your house for days. You were so annoying that he would rather die than be near you? No, he always wanted to die and you tried to change that.

Instead, you had tried to move on. Maybe it was for the better? Even no matter how hard you tried to be friendly to him, it was no use and the weeks that have gone by without passing a word to him. He probably doesn’t even care enough to look in your direction.

You found your way to the garden of Eve despite the weird creatures that lurk around the forbidden tree. You just wanted to break free from the reality you were in for a moment— “why are you here?” His voice sounded like venom. You couldn’t even move, yet he was here.

“Fine then I’ll leave, sorry for even coming here.” You pouted and turned your head to see him giving you an amused look. You were confused, didn’t he want you not to be around him?

“Actually, I liked it better when you were annoying. It fits you more,” he huffed. He wanted you to pester him around? You didn’t want to feel that heartache again that he gave you.

“Huh?! If you’re here to insult me again then go away!” You huffed pointing your finger at him.

He grabbed your arm pulling you to him with a smirk plastering his face. “No. I actually would rather risk killing you than you avoid me again.” He pushed you against the tree with one hand close to your head. Your mind was running wild with thoughts. Kill you?

“Fine then, only if you let me get to know the real you instead of pushing me away!” You glared back at him which he stepped forward towards you. He was surprised Satan hasn’t tried to kill you. His heart was growing more fonder of you by the day and it killed him more when you stopped pestering him around because of his cruel behaviour towards you.

At last he would have you here and now.

Cu Chulainn

Knowing Cu was probably a nightmare. He was rude and complained about the gods a lot. What were you even? A human brought to Valhalla and met Cu Chulainn along the way. You weren’t exactly the closest to him but you grew jealous of how much he paid attention to his dog more than you sometimes. However, he had a different side to him whenever he was with his dog Geis.

You sometimes wish you were the dog but you concealed your feelings for him knowing what had happened to other women who tried to confess to him. Morrigan… you were there when she demanded him to marry her and the two fought. Morrigan tried to kill you out of revenge for Cu rejecting her. Yet, something snapped in him and somehow he defeated her within seconds.

Your mind was brought back to you watching Cu with his dog. He even allowed you to pet his dog where as nobody else was allowed to. He trusted you enough to pet him. “He’s not bad when he gets to know someone first.” Cu smiled genuinely watching Geis brush against your side.

“He’s cute! Is he fine with cats?” You looked at Cu who gave you even more of an annoyed look. Cats? What?

“I don’t know?” He was having doubts about where this was going.

“Can he meet my cats?” You clasped your hands together. His dog around a bunch of felines?!

“Hell no, Geis doesn’t need to be around a bunch of annoying cats. Heck, even I don’t want them around me.” Cu turned his head but you didn’t say anything. You accepted Cu’s dog but he wouldn’t even trust a few cats? You had thought because he liked animals, maybe he wouldn’t mind the stray cats you take care of.

“It’s fine! Sorry, I asked. I uh– I have to go back home now anyway!” You didn’t even give him a chance to say anything before leaving.

Cu was rude most days, and you put up with him a lot. You watched him train and talked nonstop in his ear. Even when he was busy, he always found time to check up on you. You didn’t want to admit to him about your feelings for him incase he’d reject you.

So why were you hurt now? Cu would probably kill your cats anyway so it’s better that he wasn’t around them. He can’t even accept one part of you?

Several days had passed without hearing anything from Cu. You were fairly certain this must’ve been the longest you haven’t heard from him. You were too sad to even leave the house, why were men so stubborn? Did he expect you to chase him? You refused to do that as you were stronger than that.

You almost didn’t hear the front door open and you immediately jumped thinking someone entered your home. “Woah, relax.” Cu showed himself from around the corner. He looked more annoyed than you.

“What are you doing here?” Your voice croaked which gave away how upset you were with him. You weren’t only upset about what he thought of your cats but his rude attitude also puts you down at times.

“Heh? You didn’t come by for a few days, so I wanted to see if you’re alive. And Geis too was worried,” he called his dog over who nearly tackled you to the ground and was licking you all over. You were happy but at the same time, this changes nothing.

“Well, I’m alive so you can leave.” You gave him a murderous stare indicating you were mad at him. Cu was irritated with you. Now you’re matching his mood? He was stubborn but he never thought you’d be the same.

“Nah, bring your felines out.” Cu brought an arm up to his forehead to hint at the imaginary headache you were causing him. Would you stop being mad at him if he petted one of your cats?

You perked your head up at him, “not if you’re forcing yourself to meet them.” You pouted.

“I’m asking to,“ he didn’t want to admit that it was indeed to make you stop being mad at him. He missed you.

“Fine, but could you be more nicer to me from now on?” You stood up and gave him a sly smile.

“Whatever, Princess.”

Apollo

Being Apollo’s wife came with both pros and cons. He would either suffocate you with his love and continuously talk nonstop to you about his passion for beauty or he would disappear for days. The disappearing part was recent. He used to stay in the Olympus palace with you most times. This was making you worry whether he was going back to his old ways.

Was he seeing someone new? Was he bored of you now? The unsettling feeling wouldn’t go away. Maybe you shouldn’t wait for him anymore.

“My lady, it’s urgent.” One of the maids opened into your shared room. You looked at her to continue.

“Ah, my apologies. Apollo is severely injured and is asking for you.” Severely?! What? You weren’t even mad anymore. Your worries were filled with intrusive thoughts of him being in a critical condition that may be fatal. You could also be worrying too much.

You rushed out of the room as you heard of the news. Why was he severely hurt? You were going to scold him but as soon as you reached the infirmary where there were many injured Olympus guards, deities and you found Apollo in his own room.

“Agh, what happened?!” You busted open the door and you could see that he was wrapped in bandages. His force went from wide shock to giving you a small smile.

“It’s nothing too major darling—"

“Nothing too major? You’re covered from the chest down in bandages?! I’m hurt, yes. You would go off and disappear for days! I know you’re not telling me things.” You lowered your head and sat next to his bedside.

“I’m sorry for being in such a disgusting unsightly position right now.” He changed the topic back to his beauty which even hurt you even more. Did he only care about his looks?

“Can you take this seriously for once? Agh, maybe I should leave.” You stood up but Apollo sighed and needed to explain why he was gone for days at a time. However, you spoke up again turning to face him.

“I thought you were seeing someone else! And then I hear this, I— I don’t even know.” You covered your mouth with one hand. Apollo was offended you lacked faith in him. In all honestly, it shocked him. However, it was his fault for not telling you the Titan issue so you wouldn’t worry. Yet, he knew he messed up.

“The Titans broke into heaven and Zeus needed all of us.” He grabbed your hands to stop your shaking. You were immensely scared and your worries wouldn’t stop.

Hey, hey, everything is fine.” Apollo pushed some of your hair back behind your ear. You were starting to feel a bit more at ease. You lowered your head on his chest without trying to hurt him. His arms wrapped around your waist. You were calming down and hoping he would recover from this.

Even the titans may return later but you wanted him to be more truthful. “I’m sorry, I overreacted and thought you would hurt me…” you were feeling bad but Apollo still placed one of his hands to his forehead.

“Hmm, no I have no reason to commit infidelity as you’re the only beautiful woman I need to comfort me.” He was so obsessed with beauty even to the point that only you were the most beautiful gem in his eyes.

Okita

Every time you tried to practice your swings and techniques alone, Okita would always make his comments about how you were almost as bad as Hijikata as a joke. You envy him for being a prodigy and that he was right. Souji was the best swordsman in Kondo’s Shieikan training hall. Nothing hurts more than hearing his negative thoughts about your swordplay.

Hijikata was unbothered by the comments hurled at him for being the worst swordsman, and for some reason, you didn’t want to show how bothered you were. Okita-san liked to play around with them and that was what men did. It was a weakness to show your emotional side. You tried to keep your distance from the demon child. For many years you had known Souji, he was incredibly kind to you but that was up until recently when you wanted to learn how to use a sword.

You asked Saitou and Nagakura to help you, but they still won against you every single time. Yet, they never gave you a ton of criticism like how Souji had. They even said you had the potential to be as good as them. It was only Souji who said even if you trained for a hundred years, you wouldn’t ever be as good as him. Maybe he was right, but you weren’t trying to be as good as him. You wondered what changed? Why was he like this towards you?

Even when Kondo took him in, you were just a kid at the time who was also raised by Kondo’s adoptive father and lived at the Shieikan dojo. You even helped Kondo-san take care of Souji and he became incredibly attached and protective of you two. You had wondered if he had thought of you more than someone who just took care of him when he had no one. His sister abandoned him and you reassured him he wasn’t a monster as others saw him as.

When you saw him talking to Saitou and smiling, you felt a bit sad. Why did he act differently around them compared to you? You missed his nice and caring side. You were bothered but you pushed yourself to move on. As you walked away you saw Kondo in another room. “Everything okay?” he had asked which your mind stopped for a moment. You nodded but said nothing.

“You’ve been acting strange these past few days,” he patted you to sit next to him and you couldn’t help but break down your emotions. You couldn’t hold them in any longer. You told Kondo that it was becoming unbearable to be around Souji.

“I don’t think he means it like that, I think he is worried that you’ll get hurt." Kondo took another sip of his tea. You wondered what he meant by that. Get hurt? After some time talking to the boss of the dojo, you started to understand where Souji was coming from. He never spoke to Kondo about his concerns either since men tend to not show their emotions or like to express themselves.

You decided the comments hurt too much and went back to cleaning the dojo and after them. Your friendship felt worse with Souji now. You decided that whatever you thought there was with him before was completely gone now. You saw Yamanami and Saitou practicing inside and they wanted to help you train but you politely declined.

You saw Souji outside sitting at the cherry blossom tree and that was when you walked over to him to confront him with the way he behaved towards you. “You going to explain yourself?” You were standing in front of him and he didn’t look up at you nor spoke for a moment.

“Huh? What?” He gave you an innocent reaction and it irritated you. It was like a sting to your heart and you were just bothering him at this point.

“Seriously? You’re going to play dumb? Never mind, this was a mistake.” You were about to walk away and go back to cleaning but Souji grabbed your sleeved arm so you wouldn’t leave him. Ever since you helped Kondo take care of him, he was afraid you would leave him one day.

“I’m sorry.” He still wouldn’t let go of your arm.

“Huh?” You sat next to him.

“I’m sorry for the way I treated you.” His lips curled up into a smile. His knees were still up to his chest while you knew he meant it.

“It’s okay, I’m not going to practice swordplay anymore with Saitou or Nagakura-san.” You shrugged.

“Why haven't you asked me?”

“I— I don’t know. I don’t want to bother you with trivial things…” This made you fidget with your long sleeves.

“But you’re fine with bothering Hajime-san?” You understood where he was coming from. He was annoyed you never asked him for help and relied on others. Jealous? You didn’t want to make a joke about him being jealous. It was obvious and it makes sense that he wanted to be the one to train you and even protect you.

“So you would help train me without being a prick this time?” You couldn’t help but blush a bit. He looked at you and noticed how flustered you looked.

He nodded, “ya I can do that.” He smiled at you and leaned his body against yours like old times. After all, maybe your friendship could be something else with him.

-It had been quiet, at least for a while, this tournament was heating up, especially since the humans were showing they weren’t to be messed with, taking out some of the gods already, proving that they were way stronger than the gods initially assumed.

-You had been walking around, pouting a bit as you asked Brunnhilde when your turn was, as you were getting antsy, but she told you that you were a reserve fighter, meant for a pinch situation.

-While you did appreciate her faith in you, you still wanted to fight now! You were tired of waiting around!

-You heard what sounded like arguing up ahead and you rounded the corner, finding a large garden, seeing Buddha and Loki trying to square up with each other, with Kojiro, that human who took out Poseidon, Okita and Kondo, and Nikola and Simo who had just been passing by, and the Seven Lucky Gods.

-You grinned as Loki made the Seven Lucky Gods back off, as he wanted to take on Buddha himself, fully ready to throw hands as he pulled out his weapons.

-Everyone got ready to attack in their own way, but everyone froze as you seemingly appeared out of nowhere, pointing your gun at Loki’s head, your head dipped a bit, hiding your face due to your hat.

-Like you were a completely different person you beamed brightly, running over and throwing your arms around Simo, who instantly froze, unused to the affections of a woman, “Simo~~” Buddha couldn’t help but grin, seeing that you were a woman with a wide personality, but you were also quite dangerous as he finally busted into laughter, “You’re an interesting person!”
