At first, Dain is kinda at a loss as to how to show you affection

Yea, Zhongli is old, but he’s had people around. Dain hasn’t. Not really

In the end his language of affection is time. He spends as much time with you as possible, even letting you in on his adventures. Hell

Granted, even if he doesn’t say it, he really enjoys it when you touch him. He loves it when you touch his face and his hair, smoothing away his frowns and his sadness. It’s only when he finds joy in your presence and touch that he realizes that he’s fallen so low into despair. And so he wants more. More of your presence, more of your touch. And he makes an effort to give back in full measure what you give

it doesn’t take you long to realize that when Dain touches you, he touches you with reverence and gratitude, touching you like you’re the most precious thing in his world. And you are. He’s lived a long time without sun, sometimes literally, sometimes metaphorically. You’re his sun, now. No matter where he goes, he’s found light.

Diluc

Once again he’s a mix of quality time and physical touch

If he’s free he wants to be around you. And he actually bothers to take time off so he can be around you. Everyone Adelinde was shocked when Diluc started taking time off to spend it with you instead

When he’s around you, happily doing whatever, though I think sitting on the same couch reading would be very satisfying

He also asks for your input a lot. What do you link of this wine or that juice. That sort of thing. And I’ll be damned if he doesn’t cook up some drinks just for you

No matter what, he just likes being around you. Though he couldn’t deal without Kaeya’s teasing

A/n: The reader is completely Gender Nutral, but I wanted to mention that sometimes the reader is considered "smaller" or being blocked by people, and when I say that, in my mind they are like huge huge, 10'ft and broad, so even if your tall you'd still be fairly Small compared to them! And I headcanon Itto to be very tall as well so :) and size is not really mentioned at all besides those few moments

Aether

Aether would be the one that got you into the mess, not on purpose, but you had insisted. You insisted on helping him on this quest that you knew he wouldn't be able to complete alone.

Aether had to be held back by whoever else was helping you two, tears falling from his face as he tried to get to you, he felt weak, you were trapped, he could hear you crying and knew that even if he did manage to break free, he wouldn't be able to get to you in time.

Lumine

"Travler, please, they can't be saved.." Aether glared at him, and if looks could kill. When they finally let him go, the strain he was putting on their arms became too much he used his newfound ability's to break the wall that had separated the two of you. He saw you laying lifeless on the floor and sat next to you, pulling you into his lap as he gently hummed a song to you, your favorite.

Lumine would be much the same as her brother, except she didn't bring you with her. No matter how much you begged, you could never convince her to bring you with her. She knew the risks all too well, which is why she always refused. That didn't stop you, though, when she left for her mission you followed behind her, far enough away that she wouldn't hear you or sense you.

When she walked into a dangerous cave, you walked in right after her. The only reason she noticed you was because you had fallen and ended up twisting your ankle.

"I'm okay Lumine, really I am." She wanted to believe you, but the way you winced at her soft touches convinced her otherwise.

"Why are you here?"

"You were going to get hurt." She sighed and nodded, helping you up onto your feet, holding you up so you didn't step on your hurting one.

You were being chased, Lumine was too slow dragging you along with her so you fell to the floor and accepted your fate, she was too far gone by the time she realised it, her sword was now drawn but you hurt, too hurt. She killed the monster that had been attacking the two of you, and she held you close to her, begging you to wake up.

Itto

Itto was the one that brought you. The travler and him were on a simple mission that couldn't go wrong, and you had always begged to go with him, so there shouldn't be any harm in bringing you on this one. He was wrong, very wrong. Everything that could go wrong had, the first sign should've been the Fatui being there, even though the mission letter said that the camp was vacant.

But it was only the Fatui.

They found what they were looking for, Itto's boisterous laughter was what had alerted the hidden Fatui. They walked into the room the three of you were in, you were the weakest looking, so they went to you first, knocking the big Oni out of the way with far too much ease. You ran over to Itto. Before you could get to him, though, a big arm blocked your way. They picked you up even easier and threw you hard through a window. Once Itto got up, the travler forced itto to go and check on you.

When he found you, he couldn't contain his anger or his sadness. He left you. You were still awake, and it would only take a matter of seconds to kill the bastards that hurt you. When he got back, your pool of blood had grown as you grew pale. You had only held out that long because you knew Itto wouldn't ever forgive himself for not being there when you passed. He stayed there for a while, he moved you from the rock that he didn't know impaled you until it was too late, his big hands caressing your delicate face, placing one last kiss to your lips as he held you close.

Kaeya

The fatui had come to your shared home to get revenge for their comrades that Kaeya had killed without mercy just a few days ago. He was still asleep, still tired from what the two of you had done the night before. Which is why you didn't react when you heard a door open, you assumed it was Kaeya.

When you turned to greet your boyfriend, your breath caught in your throat before a loud, deafening scream escaped you. Kaeya jumped up almost instantly and ran into the kitchen, wiping his eyes and looking for you. He couldn't see you past the large man that stood in front of you, knife pressed to your neck.

"Let them go. It's me you want, right?" You wanted to call out to Kaeya, but the knife slashed your neck before you were able to. An eye for an eye was their idea. You killed who we love most, so we'll kill what you love most. Kaeya had to choose between revenge or being with you. They were leaving, but so we're you. He fell to his knees next to you, covering your bleeding neck with dishcloths hoping to slow the bleeding enough that he would be able to get you to a doctor, but your hand came to his cheek, gently taking him one last time, before your arm fell limp to your side and he closed your eyes. "I'm sorry."

Diluc

Diluc was out on vigilante business when he heard a familiar scream. He brushed it off for a second until he thought about it. He knew your scream for multiple reasons, and the scream that had just rung through Mondstat sounded unfortunately similar. It only took him about 30 seconds to find you and the man that was attacking you, when he saw that you were still putting up a fight, he felt relieved, he had gotten there just in time to help you.

Until the man pulled out a bottle of something and smashed it over your head. The bottle was brittle, so it didn't knock you out, but that wasn't the point. The poison needed to soak in order to work the best. Diluc slashed the man down with his sword and got to you. He picked you up in his arms, kissing you gently. He hadn't lost all hope, not yet. He brought you to Albedo, assuming he would know how to reverse the effects. "If he had poured it anywhere, I might have been able to. How long ago did you say this happened?" Albedo was rubbing creams over your forehead, pouring all sorts of disgusting liquids down your throat and making sure you were still awake.

"About 3 minutes ago." Diluc was trying not to worry, for your sake. "You'll survive this, baby." He assured you, but your eyes were feeling heavy, and you could barely even feel your face anymore. He turned away for a moment, glaring at Albedo, who tried to prepare Diluc for the inevitable, but when Diluc turned back to you, you were gone. He shook you, tapped your face a few times, tears falling down his cheeks as he tried to kiss you awake, whispering, begging you to wake up. "Please, I can't lose you too."

AS LOYAL PATRONS of The Angel's Share, your parents were frequent attenders of all of Dawn Winery’s events - wine tasting, birthdays, or just simple celebrations they were there.

However at your age, you couldn’t drink more than half of the menu and didn’t want to converse with drunken adults. So you were forced to sit inside under the supervision of the maids.

Mindlessly sipping on your juice while looking at the crossword puzzle given to you by the maids as your source of entertainment, you try your best to block out the loud talk outside.

What caught your eye though was a boy quickly going down the stairs, his socks sliding against the wooden floor and making his way over to the woman who was watching over you.

Gently tugging on her skirt to gain her attention, he speaks to her but softly enough for the laughter outside to block it from reaching your ears.

‘Red hair… is that Crepus’ son?’

Smiling softly at the boy, she points over to you leading to two pairs of eyes looking in your direction; straightening up under their gaze, you look to your left and right and point to yourself.

She simply chuckles and nods, giving the boy a soft push in your direction to which he followed and sat next to you on the sofa.

“Hi, what’s your name?” he asked.

“Y/N,” you reply simply, “What’s yours?”

“Diluc.”

“Cool,” you nod, not knowing what else to say.

“Cool,” he replied, also not knowing what else to say.

After a minute of silence you ask, “What do you think they’re talking about out there?”

“Who?

“The adults,” you remark blandly, “Bet it’s about wine.”

“It is a wine tasting event,” he responds, “My dad’s made another drink.”

There was a long silence for a moment. That was until Diluc had invited you to play tag outside since he was getting bored sitting around the house.

Accepting his invitation, he grabbed your hand and walked out the front door and into the vineyard where that game would begin.

“Why don’t we play hide-and-go-tag? I don’t like running a lot,” you offer, not the most thrilled at the thought of running in your nice clothes and then potentially getting stained.

“Mm… alright,” he agreed, and began counting.

“…9…10! Ready or not, here I come!” he announced, softly walking on the grass below his boots, and searching in between the lines vineyards for any sign of you.

After a few minutes of searching in between the vineyards he decides to search the crates next to the sign displaying the fact that there was currently an event taking place.

As he approached the crates he saw your figure dash out of the opening between the sign and the crates the other way yelling:

“You’ll never catch me alive!”

Causing the adults in the area to pause and observe what was occurring. Seeing your silhouette outlined by the lanterns glow run past them, and immediately seeing another - catching a glimpse of red hair - sprint after you, automatically understanding the situation.

“Careful! Make sure to not trip - it’s so dark right now,” a voice called out to the both of you.

“We know!” Diluc shouted back, steadily gaining on you.

Hearing his voice so close to you causes your adrenaline to spike and run faster than before, wind blowing against your face and in your ears.

Making a sharp turn you run towards the nearby lake, careful of your footing as to not fall flat on your face and to get dirty. You eventually get near the water and inhale sharp breaths once you get there.

You eventually hear another tired voice pant out, “Tag.”

Diluc was breathing harder than you, weakly touching your shoulder as to make sure you knew you were tagged and now it.

Your legs were to tired to hold you up and you sat on the sand, breathing slowing down. Diluc soon followed with an ‘oof.’

“We should just stay here,” you breathe out.

“Sounds good,” he sighs.

KNOCKING ON THE door of Dawn Winery as politely as you could, you immediately started speaking the moment the door was answered.

“Hello mr. Crepus, I would like to know where my favorite one of your sons are.”

“Hey! That is so rude,” Kaeya spoke up, pouting by the stairs.

“He’s upstairs in his room,” the older man replied, moving to let you in.

“Don’t worry Kaeya ‘cause Diluc’s about to get yelled at,” you say while speeding up the stairs.

Kaeya took a long look at his adoptive father, “Are you really just going to let them do that?”

“Eh, Diluc needs these kinds of things at his age.”

Slamming his door open with a loud, “Diluc!” caused the boy to jump and sit up in his bed and snapping his book shut.

“Diluc,” you stared at the boy in front of you dead in the eyes, as you silently shut his door - a stark contrast as to how you entered his room, “Why didn’t you tell me you got accepted as a knight of Favonius?”

“I- see, you were really busy with your studies and I didn’t want to bother you-“

“I don’t care about my studies!” you flopped onto his bed, “Well, not as much as you getting accepted into the knights, but still!

“We’re only ten, and here you are getting accepted into the knights! You should’ve told me,” you say a lot more calmer now, sitting on the edge of his bed as he shuffles to sit next to you.

“I know, I’m sorry,” he relents, “I promise you’ll be one of the first ones to know when something like this happens again.”

“Pinky,” you tell jokingly, holding yours out.

“Fine,” he huffs out, wrapping his pinky with yours.

“Your it now,” you say with a smug expression on your face.

“Oh my-“ he groans, taking his pinky away from you a taking back his book to read.

The game of tag has been going on for years now, non-stop with random time intervals and rules now added but it’s still a fun nostalgia piece to do.

“What’re you even reading this time around,” you ask, looking at the faint words of the book cover. “The Legend of Vennessa,” you read aloud, “Again?”

“Why not?”

“Fair point I guess, but still. You’ve read that like, what? Five times already?”

“It’s a good book!”

“Whatever,” you sigh.

“Don’t act like you haven’t read a book five times before,” Diluc points out, “Hex and Hound? That has like eleven volumes. How do you even have the patience?”

“No, I can’t get my hands on the last two volumes. It’s sold in Inazuma, I can’t even borrow it from the library like the rest of them,” you huff out.

“That’s tough man,” he remarks.

“It really is. It was left on a cliffhanger too!” you groan.

“What’s a cliffhanger again? I forgot,” Diluc asked, sweat dropping at the look you gave him, “What? I don’t read that often nowadays.”

“You’re left hanging. Dangling on a cliff. With no one to save you.”

“…do you think that’d be something that would happen to me if I’m on duty as a knight?”

“Diluc!”

"SO, CALVARY CAPTAIN now huh?" you teased, leaning your back against Diluc's shoulder.

You were under the tree under Windrise, and just as he had promise four years ago, you were one of the first to know about his promotion. Resting against the bark you watch as he methodically brushes the horses light brown coat.

"I suppose," he chuckles.

"Making history already; youngest calvary captain ever in the Knights of Favonius, heir to Mondstadt's wine industry, and is a vision holder! How does it feel?" you asks playfully, holding a windwheel aster you plucked from the ground and putting it near his face so he could talk into it.

"It really isn't that much-"

"Ah, oh so modest as ever" you laugh softly at his face because of your interruption. Blowing air into the red flower makes its petals spin slowly, "So, is the official Calvary Captain going to show me how to ride a horse or what?"

"So that's why you brought me here." Diluc nods in understanding with an amused look on his face, "Well, you better get up if that's what's going to happen."

"Wait I was just joking-" you couldn't finish your sentence until you were pulled up by him, clutching on the windwheel aster tighter as to not drop it.

Thankfully the horse Diluc had ridden to arrive at

Windrise was laying down so there wasn't that much of a difficulty.

Just as you were adjusting to your new seating arrangement the horse suddenly stood up, making you fall forward only to have your face meet with Diluc's back and grabbing onto the edges of the saddle for stability.

Straightening up, you see your friends face looking at you with a small smile and gently taking your hands off the saddle to place around his waist.

"So you won't fall," he explains, glancing at your widened eyes.

Feeling your heart beat faster you look towards your left at the shallow river created by the waterfall as a way to not gawk at his sheer amount of nonchalance at pulling you closer.

Shifting forward, your press your front against his back as the horse begins to trot forward.

Unfortunately, Diluc wasn't one to go slowly. He placed more force upon the saddle's stirrup causing the horse's light trot to a fast gallop.

At the sudden change of speed you let out a small squeak, hurrying your face into Diluc's back and tightening your grip against his waist and the flower you still held.

Feeling your added pressure against his body, Diluc places a soothing hand against yours wrapped around his waist and rubs his thumb against the back of your hand as an attempt to calm you.

"I suppose that this counts as tag, huh?" he asked playfully, continuing to hold your hand in his.

"Yeah! Sure," you reply quickly, trying to get over the fact that you might've developed a crush on your best friend.

EVER SINCE DILUC’s eighteenth birthday, things have never been the same.

The people of Mondstadt have fallen silent, Kaeya’s usual charming nature turned off, and Diluc hasn’t been seen since.

As you were standing by his fathers grave, placing flowers next to it footsteps were heard approaching you. Looking over your shoulder, you catch a glimpse of a familiar eyepatch and blue hair.

“Hey Kaeya,” you say, eyes still fixated on the grave in front of you.

“Diluc’s gone,” he spoke, voice trembling.

“What?” your voice was low, not believing your own ears.

“Diluc has left Mondstadt. He left Adeline in charge of the manor,” he explains, voice void of any emotion.

“Do you know where he went?”

“We… we ended things on bad terms,” Kaeya says as if he were holding back tears.

Hearing his trembling voice, you decide not to push any further. “I see.”

“Thank you, Kaeya, for letting me know,” you turn towards him with a somber smile and walking past him.

“Where are you going?” Kaeya called out to you.

“Dawn Winery. Adeline must know something about Diluc’s disappearance,” you say not stopping your footsteps, “At the very least Diluc must’ve left a not or, something.”

“As stubborn as ever,” Kaeya dryly chuckles.

You were going to find Diluc, that was a fact. In your game of tag you were the last one to be proclaimed ‘it.’ You refused to lose to him, you couldn’t stand it.

And not just his eyes are a little bit open, they are cracked open. Like an owl. 

One time you came to bed late and you almost screamed cause he was staring at you like 🙂. Traumatized.  

Also an extremely loud snorer.

You could be anywhere else in the house and you’ll hear his snores in the house 

He is also a kicker or is dead still. No in-between. 

You can be in the middle of the most perfect dream ever and then you’ll feel the biggest kick on your lower back

He sleeps in a tank top and boxer shorts and his shirt almost rides up with how much he moves in his sleep

He has severe trauma so the lightest noise will wake him up

When Kaeya woke him up one day, he almost burned down the entire house they were living in 

no matter how much sleep he’ll get it will never be enough 

He falls asleep extremely early too, like 9-10:30 pm and he’s already knocked out 

but something in his sleep fighting him because as soon as he wakes up he’s already tired 

and when he has a day off? don’t expect to reach him. he’s asleep

also needs like 2 cups of straight black coffee to wake him up in the mornings 

he’s the person to come to the breakfast table hair disheveled and a mess and just plop his head on the table. 

He sleeps with a giant t-shirt and shorts 

When Kaeya and Diluc lived together you could really see the difference between them 

Diluc is a whole grump in the morning, do not wake

On the complete contrast of his brother, no matter how little sleep kaeya will always be a cheerful person in the morning

Papers thrown everywhere, covers on the floor, he’s half way falling off the bed

For someone who has a cyro vison, his room feels like he’s being engulfed in flames 

Its such a dry heat in your room, you hate it 

Kaeya also tosses and turns in sleep 

He’s fighting demons in his sleep for real. 

Also because he’s always cheerful, Diluc wonders how the fuck he gets like that naturally 

Where he gets his energy will be the biggest mystery

an absolute monster to society when you wake her up

no matter how good the sleep was she will raise hell upon the ship 

she has her room freezing cold but always hates opening the window 

she’ll wake up and find the window open (because she opened it) and start cursing the window 

also wakes up in a sport bra and men’s shorts because she cannot handle the feeling of long pants on her skin when she wakes up 

also she sweats in her sleep because her skin heats up so much, thus why she keeps the room really cold

CANNOT WAKE UP ON TIME FOR ANYTHING 

It isn’t a lack of trying, the crew is just too scared to waje her up in the morning for fear of her yelling at them 

so they kind of leave her alone until she willingly gets up 

and you know she recognizes that she’s late cause all you’ll hear is “shit shit shit FUCK I’M LATE”

so if you call beidou to any meeting please tell her 2 hours in advance because she’ll always be late 

kazuha 

he’s a really pretty sleeper, like sleeping beauty in the fairytales just 10x more cranky when he wakes up

He sleeps with a mask on his face because he HATES the sun waking him up

He also sleeps stiff as a board, its insane

If it wasn’t for the fact that he breathes so heavily while he’s sleeping you would of thought he was dead 

He’s also a person that lays in bed for hours on end, not cause he isn’t awake but just because he doesn’t want to get up yet

has really messy bed hair, for like no reason

when he finally get up, he has comically large bunny slippers that he wears cause he hates touching the cold floor.

kazuha is just a kid when he sleeps y’all :(

also another person that is really pissy when she wake up.

it doesn’t start that way. she wakes up the sun is shining and she is feeling good. 

but as soon as she finds something wrong all hell breaks loose

she’s cursing at the intern that just start working there 

it’s so bad that the workers pull straws everyday to see who has to deal with ningguang in the morning 

so specific about her coffee order and drinks like 5 cups of it to feel normal 

her coffee order is something like this: a room temp coffee with thre and a half sugars, two swirls of caramel  mixed two and 1/2 times in a clockwise then 1 times backwards

AND SHE CAN TELL WHEN YOU FUCKED UP 

“you used three swirls of caramel didn’t you”
