AOUV music headcannons cause why not

-Briony and Gavin probably have the same spotify workout playlists and don't even realise it. They both vibe intensely to Hell's Comin With Me by Poor Man's Poison and only notice when Reid points it out, after which they begin denying it vehemently. -Reid practically lives and breathes electronic nightcore. He has listened to every Odetari, 6arelyhuman and asteria song to exist and has them on repeat. -People tell Isobel that she looks like she listens to Lana Del Rey, but in truth, the only artist she can relate to is either UPSAHL or EMELINE.

-Elionor is a Swiftie at heart, but if anybody but Carbry talks about it, she will curse them. -Finley used to only listen to the songs Briony used to show him, but began trying out other stuff after they broke up, especially if Carbry likes it.

-Carbry was convinced by Elionor to learn the drums. It was his way of escaping the shy, quiet world he'd built for himself. Much to everybody's surprise, he took to it like a fish to water. More surprisingly, most of the songs he learned to play were by Maneskin. Once, Carbry played Honey!(Are You Coming?) for Finley and Elionor and they were left with their jaws hanging open

-Alistair and Hendry actually have vastly different tastes in music. Hendry listens to practically anything and everything, but he has a soft spot for Omar Rudberg and Isabel Larosa (basically anything that elevates his slutty boy persona).

-Alistair listens to Will Wood, Mother Mother and Marina and the Diamonds religiously. His and Gavin's playlists are actually very similar, and it's one of the things that brought them together. I will die on the hill that Arms Tonite by Mother Mother is Gavin and Alistair's song.

-Diya, much like Hendry, has a wide range, but hers is even more inclusive. She listens to Hindi songs, K-pop, even German music, as long as she can vibe to it. Her faves are Paris Paloma, Mamamoo and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya.

Backstory (Summarized)

His family consists of his mother and himself. He stayed with his grandparents a lot as a child but never gained their favor despite being one of the only grandchildren they had; his mother, a water elemental, spent most of his childhood working. He became very independent at a very young age. His mother regrets not spending enough time with him as a child before he grew up.

He started exhibiting signs of having magical powers at around thirteen years old- he accidentally flung a collection of small rocks against the side of their house when he was upset without ever touching them. He felt guilty when he watched his mom replace the window that broke despite her reassurance that it was okay- his mom taught him what she could with what little knowledge she had on earth elemental magic before he went to D.A.M.N.

At nineteen, he officially moved into the dorms and began studying for full certification. As a request from his mom, who he now has little contact with due to distance, he started playing a sport as a way to get to know new people- which is how he met Xavier, then by extension Huxley.

He meets Liza after a particularly grueling football game and they start hooking up. It’s a slow burn strangers to lovers deal.

Small Details

He ran into Gavin at 2am on a Wednesday at the gas station closest to the dorms, he vaguely recognized him but didn't connect the dots quick enough to ask why Gavin was getting two slushies and left without paying for them- and he promptly decided that it was none of his business and kept browsing the jerky isle

He ties his shoelaces around his ankles, it's a habit he's had as far back as his memory goes

He's never had a pet and doesn't have the want for one

He hates Red Bulls with a passion- if he has to pick up a drink, he'd pick a gatorade

He unconsciously has his eyes halfway closed most of the time, he constantly looks like he's about to fall asleep

He prefers to workout around 1-3am, when the gym is a ghost town, hence why he was at the gas station getting a drink at 2am

His playlist is a mix of rap and slow love songs, he's a sucker for them but won't admit it

I can definitely see Gavin with a workout playlist! He'll have songs that will hype him up and make him feel like he's pushing himself beyond his limits. When it comes to working out Gavin's music taste is pretty versatile. Could range from rock to hip hop. Depending on the type of workout the songs have to have a good beat. I like to think Eli has recommended our boy a lot of songs to get through a few hours at the gym.

Huxley has an indoor plant problem and names all his plants just so he remembers to look after all of them

Damien has fergalicious on his workout playlist and will stop whatever he’s doing to to whisper the rap under his breath

Gavin keeps a large handbook of some of his innuendos. Mostly just so Lasko or Freelancer unknowingly pick it up and read what’s inside.

Lasko was in full sweat mode after the first time he heard Milo call Asher a ‘bitch bottom’

Hell yeah Angie McMahon slaps, give her a listen if you can! I particularly like Slow Mover and If You Call

Athena

While she technically has perfect pitch, she’s not so good at keeping on pitch. She can hear it’s wrong, she just can’t correct herself. But she has fun singing along loudly to her music, so it works out in the end

Widget can technically play music but only weird midi versions of whatever she tries to play, so she had to remove Spotify from his apps

She listens to a lot of foreign music, particularly French and German. She keeps trying to get her friends into them, though Trucy seems more receptive than the likes of Apollo

She also has a lot of songs from Juniper, very gentle feel-good music that she’s added to her yoga playlist and general listening

Her yoga playlist also has a lot of steel drums and is very upbeat

She has taken some steel drums classes and is very quick to point out that they’re technically called steel pans

She can play several woodwind instruments, but none particularly well. That doesn’t stop her though

She in particular has a bunch of different playlists that she listens to. A workout playlist, a jogging playlist, a yoga playlist, a work playlist, a cooking playlist, a driving playlist, and the list goes on

Every once in a while someone will add a bunch of indecipherable metal music to her yoga playlist and give her a heart attack. She thinks it’s Apollo messing with her, but it’s actually Simon

Speaking of Simon

He used to have a very nice voice, though he was a bit shy about singing in public. However, he did take up smoking in prison, and now he’s far more self conscious about his voice than he was before

He still has a nice voice, it’s just a lot rougher and doesn’t have a very high range. He can go really low though

He could probably do a pretty good “metal” voice if he wanted to

However, he absolutely will not sing in public unless forced, so really the only one who has heard him sing is Taka

He also has a weird assortment of music tastes. He likes a lot of traditional Japanese music, but also picked up an appreciation for stuff like metal while in prison

(Edit almost forgot but he likes anime songs and just won’t admit to it)

He is deeply unfamiliar with all pop music, or really anything that came out after his arrest

However, the Gavinners were big starting a year before his arrest, so he knows some of their early stuff. He liked it at the time, though he feels a bit weird about it now

Athena shared her Spotify password with him, since he was weirdly stubborn about getting one for himself. He likes to occasionally mess with her playlists because she never seems to realize he’s the one doing it

He also has a playlist specifically designed to slowly wear down Klavier Gavin’s sanity that he will play when he’s annoyed. Unlike Trucy, Simon is very good at finding music that specific people will hate

“Work Bitch” is at the top of Gavin’s workout playlist. It absolutely gets him hyped. He blasts it through his speakers or earbuds while working out at his apartment don’t even look at me. He fears nothing because even if you catch him and tried to tell other people at his work no one would believe you :^)

character’s theme song(s). there’s a list of songs I associate with klavier under the tag’my playlist’ but some of those are All the King’s Horses, Take me on the floor, Those days and - matching my headcanon for his and Daryan’s relationship - I don’t dance. hobbies to pass the time. writing music, playing his guitars, workout, enjoying a walk at the beach, playing with his kitten (Lyra) mental illnesses. after what has happened with Daryan and kristoph he has fallen into a hole, suffering for almost a year from an eating disorder. he simply forgot to eat thanks to burying himself in work. he also had depression but at least that one has gotten better. when he’s stressed he still forgets to eat sometimes and nightmares are still a constant problem. physical illnesses.  none left or right brained.  right brained. fears.  failure, betrayal, being left alone self confidence level.  it seems unbelievable high but sometimes Klavier is just faking it  vulnerabilities. he’s expecting too much of himself, forcing himself into being perfect. he doesn’t allow to show weakness towards others and he has troubles to trust others too. he puts a lot of effort into his work and he can’t handle failure pretty well. losing in court is fine as long as it means that the truth will be found but besides that failure is not an option. klavier works extra hard to make sure he successes (although he probably has it easier than others - like his brother - do). He is also very strict in his diet but it’s easy to tempt him to sin by treating him to something containing chocolate.
