BRAD CHILES, JUDY REEVES, and FREDERICK "FRED" JONES, SR. FROM SCOOBY-DOO
Justification:
"Look. In the universe that most of the series takes place in, they are all absolutely perfectly terrible for each other. I want to see the three of them tormenting one another in the most horrific ways possible because the three of them deserve it. It wouldn't save them, but it sure would be fun as hell to see the three of them burning each other down in a perfect blend of toxicity and mutual pain! But that's not the version of them that I'm talking about here. I'm talking about the universe that Mystery Incorporated ends in!
Like, for anyone that's seen the show, we all agree that the universe that the show ends in is horrific, right? The gang are in some bizarro "good" universe where everything bad that they were subjected to didn't happen. But the writers sure have a strange idea of a "happy" and "better" universe, right? Shaggy is successful, loved by his parents, and well on his way to become a famous chef. Velma and Marcie are dating. Daphne's army of older sisters… Are failures in life…? And Daphne is seen as the "successful" daughter because… She's still engaged to Fred…? Speaking of which, Fred, who experienced the worst of The Horrors(tm) gets the worst of it! His father aka the guy that kidnapped him as a baby and whom Fred decided was his only legitimate parent is now his school principal who has no real reason to be in Fred's life after he graduates, meanwhile Fred now has to live with his biological parents who were… Just the absolute fucking worst in the old universe! They tried to kill Fred and his friends on multiple occasions, and then they did the SUPREMELY fucked up thing of getting plastic surgery as part of an elaborate scheme to gaslight the gang into giving them an artifact that the gang were hiding by them kidnapping Fred and replacing him with Brad (who got plastic surgery to look identical to Fred), and gaslighting Fred into thinking that the world blew up and that he's hanging out with an elderly Daphne (who is actually Judy, his biological mom also having undergone plastic surgery… AND WHO HAS TO FLIRT WITH HER BIOLOGICAL SON FOR THIS SCHEME TO WORK). And some time after that scheme fails, they swear their loyalties to an eldritch abomination from another dimension, and get eaten alive for their troubles! While still looking like Fred and an elderly Daphne!!! Like… It takes a A LOT for one to make a good case that someone's kidnapper should actually be their victim's legal guardian… But Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated sure as fuck does it! And now Fred has to live with those two while he wouldn't really be able to see his only legitimate parent after he graduates! So like… It is genuinely no surprise that Fred decided to run away from home at the end of the series! But at the same time… Fred's biological parents in this new universe seem to be… Like… Fine. Perfectly nice people. They're doctors and deal with newborn babies in this new universe rather than being professional pieces of shit. So they genuinely did nothing wrong! But that doesn't diminish the trauma that their alternate universe counterparts made Fred go through! Trauma that Fred would still need to deal with! And now that they're in this new universe… It does bring up some questions… Because like… In the previous universe, Fred was kidnapped as a baby. We don't even know what his birth name would have been! Would he still be "Fred" if he wasn't kidnapped by a "Fred"!???? And if his name is still "Fred" in this new universe, then why!?
But do you know what would make all of this just a little less horrific and answer some questions…? Polyamory of course! Fred can't see his only real parent after he graduates? Well, Principal Jones is actually dating Brad and Judy! He's going to be over all the time, if not outright move in with them! Of course Principal Jones sees Fred as the son he never had! He only helped Brad and Judy raise him! And that's also why Fred is still named Fred! He was always going to be named Fred because Fred was always going to be named after the same guy! If they weren't allowed to include Mr. Jones' last name on the wedding certificate or the birth documents, by jove, they could at least give their son Mr. Jones' first name! And sure. Fred's only legit dad may not have any memories of the old universe. But he can stay in Fred's life and now comes with a wealth of experience of dealing with kids Fred's age and knowledge on how to deal with kids going through problems and dealing with trauma! I ship the Jones Parents Polycule where no one else does and I'm proud of it! Polyamory can just outright FIX many of the problems that I have with Mystery Incorporated! Polyamory FTW" - @maniacwatchestheworld

alright so as i mentioned i was listening to some warrior cats videos (specifically moonkitti) and that kinda got me just like, thinking about things. and this one thing i mostly just thought about bc well, of course as i'm warrior cats-ifying kai i'm thinking about "hey what would a bsb warrior cats au be like" and this kind of came up in my brain somehow. and i mean i guess this might be a kind of obvious statement i wouldn't know since i have like half the fandom blocked but. actually i don't know how to start this so i'm just gonna jump right into it.
kai and max have one very specific thing in common and it's that they were, as one might put it, nepotism hires, and their not-bba teammates hate them for it. the weird thing here is that neither of these cases are ever actually resolved, the ppb team's distaste for max just kind of Goes Away at some point, and neo-borg as a team has the singular defining trait of being edgy in place of any kind of arc or story.
i'm starting off with max because he's the one i thought about first, and honestly the thing with him is kinda like. after the ppb team seemed to be on decent terms with the main gang by the end of the first season it's definitely like "oh okay so that didn't apply to max apparently", though i think it's pretty safe to say that rick Also being there played a part in it. overall the ppb in g-rev is kind of odd honestly, like i just kind of wonder if something happened during their inexplicable (atleast in-universe) absence during v-force seeing as how one of their members is out due to a broken leg and two other members look completely different. i kind of forgot where i was going here ngl which is why this post is only partially about them, just know i was thinking about this because of the warrior cats au and well. getting mad that a pair of Outsiders TM got a position and you didn't is an extremely warrior cats thing to do. i saw a post the other day about various football-themed names being valid do you think steve would have one of those. next paragraph
anyway would you look at that! the day i finally talk about the fandom-beloved white boys as a whole! speaking of that i'm just gonna start this by saying that like. i swear to god the whole dynamic the fandom gives them was bought from a five below. and that's all i'm saying on their dynamics with anyone besides kai.
moving onto the actual reason i'm talking about neo-borg, i really like, cannot stress enough that kai is Not friends with them or even close. in an ideal world he would have some kind of comradery with yuriy but we do not live in an ideal world, or else people would talk about characters other than neo-borg. we actually get a pretty good idea of the dynamic in s1, and aside from not having someone ordering them around it's basically the same in g-rev. the dynamic in question is that there is a noticeable rift between kai and the others, who only really tolerate him because they have to. kai, meanwhile, doesn't actively dislike them but also doesn't care to try to make things better. i could go on a LOT about what the dynamic could have been, and infact i actually have before so go read that post.
i don't have a conclusion for this. 100% willing to elaborate on the warrior cats au btw
#girls will have trouble reading large blocks of text and then write large blocks of text. sorry#rat chat#beyblade#bakuten shoot beyblade#neo-borg#yuriy ivanov#kai hiwatari#<- i actually talked about them so of course i'm tagging this as them. Look At My Post Boy

hrhrhrh kamen rider x td au.....
i know i said i would yap about the 'evil' versions of the kamen riders so here it is
im thinking for the baseline of their story is that the aliens (i have no idea if i gave them a species name help) rather than creating it to cure themselves and their planet, they created it to destroy and mutilate all living life; kinda like a "if im going down, youre going down with me" kind of move. everything else happens, the asteroid lands in the mountain, splitting it in half, the gang get lost and find it, etc. but as they become more accustomed to using the belts, it starts to fuse with their body to the point they could not remove it anymore. of course everyone freaks out, and noah and courtney especially try to find something to remove them, but its futile in the end :) they succumb to the alien tech, which infects them like a parasitic fungus (akin to the last of us), their bodies melting and fusing with alien metal and circuits.
the group eventually splinters apart, which each of them reclusing to a different part of japan. they become almost urban legends in their world, rarely seen or heard about, yet theyre always there. some of them have been able to find ways to keep somewhat of their sanities intact, others not so much (gwen and noah i think) and become feral animals....creatures....
i dont really have an exact idea for how the belts affect each of them (which is why im asking for your opinion, once again) but i have some ideas. heather would hide in large cities, taking different things and animals from each city and adding them to her body, essentially 'building' herself (because the belt literally sapped most of her flesh and bones away lol) kinda like a self-frankenstien thing; courtney would hide in a shrine/temple, so consumed by greed that she would collect and hoard anything of wealth like a dragon, especially coins. and anyone who would find her she kills and memorializes them in gold since she has a 'midas touch' , etc
and then they get sucked into the 'canon universe' of this au and that arc happens lol...but what do u think :<
-mmpr anon
UHM UHMM UHMMM STARTS BARKING HELLO
I fuck HEAVY w/ the body horror ohhh my lorddddddd... the connection between mind and body, when one deteriorates the other also begins to decay... oh i fuck with this HEAVY...
As for suggestions... hmmm...
Since Noah is canonically a hacker, and the belts are alien technology, maybe have his Evil(tm) version be more connected with electronics as a whole?
I'm thinking something cryptic, something straight out of a rural-based horror story. The telephone wires that border the cobblestone roads appear tangled, and produce nothing but eery silence. Walkie talkies with dead batteries, but still produce noise. An old radio, found within an equally old forest rangers' watchtower, that comes alive every once in a while with vague warnings, and retellings of someone's descent into total isolation, and weather sirens that only go off when you go near a specific area... as if trying to ward you off.
Let my man be fucked up.
As for the others...? UHMM. Only thing that comes to mind is "hell nah they covered green with wet" cuz im obsessed with that gif iM SORRY...
MMPR anon we really need to start a group chat or smth this shit good AF
Kamen Rider Campers x Mighty Morphin Power Campers crossover event WHEN...??

Mid-year book freak out tag
Finally have some time to do this! Thanks @bloody-wonder for the tag💕
1. Best books you’ve read so far in 2022? The Raven Cycle books by Maggie Stiefvater, they just got me. I read them back-to-back in a week or so and they have everything I love in a book, the prose was great and totally fit the overall vibe with that kind of Night Vale-ish feel to it, sort of eerie but also cosy? Can totally see this series becoming a comfort read. All the characters have a special place in my heart and I wasn’t expecting to love all of them so much, I usually have one or two faves but I just, love all the gang and I love how they all love each other and their friendship and just. I love them. So much. Also well planned plot, mysteries where everything is connected and you can see the puzzle forming and everything clicking together, old European folklore (specifically old kings waiting to be woken)?? Sign me the fuck up. I need more. Also I had to get them in hardback and oh they're pretty.
Also, We Both Laughed in Pleasure the diaries of Lou Sullivan, it was incredibly good and moving and so happy? joyful? usually trans memoirs are always sad and bitter, especially when it's about someone living during the AIDS crisis, but this was just so full of joy, specifically joy in being trans and queer and even when it was sad there was always something comforting or hopeful. I'd recommend this to every trans man or transmasc out there (and anyone else really) cause there's so much anger and sadness out there that reading about how good it can be to just get to live your life is, something I've never seen in trans lit and it's just, it warms my heart reading about Lou's life.
2. Best sequels you’ve read so far in 2022? Leviathan Falls by James S.A. Corey probably. It started out different than the other books, had a broader focus and was a bit confusing at first as a choice but it worked out in the end and it helped in making sense of how it all came together so I appreciated it. Also seeing how the Roci crew story came to its end and how much they’ve all grown and changed since the beginning hit right in the feels. Lletting go of them made me emotional ngl and I’ll definitely re-read the whole series at some point but I couldn’t have asked for a better finale ( even with all the heartbreak and angst and tears it was just. Great.).
3. New releases you haven’t read yet, but want to? Book of Night by Holly Black, the plot is extremely intriguing and looks slightly darker? than her other books so I'm very curious how's it going to be. She's also one of my favorite authors and she's not disappointed yet so I'm trusting her to deliver some Quality.
4. Most anticipated release for second half of 2022? I know Greywaren is coming out in October so I'm waiting for it to get the whole trilogy and get more from TRC universe and I! Am! So! Hype! I don't even have a clue what it's about I just want more of anything TRC kjhgjhk
5. Biggest disappointment? Confessions of the Fox by Jordy Rosenberg probably. I was expecting heists and some good "be gay do crime" vibes given that it's based on an irl master thief and while it did deliver on the gay it didn't deliver on the crime at all. It was kinda boring? and unnecessarily long and drawn out in some parts, way too focused on the romance (and didn't even develop it properly?) and not enough on the plot, and given that it's a story-within-a-story kind of book with conspiracies and plotting and Big Mysteries tm... it was just Not It. It also kinda read more like an academic text rather than a fiction book, which I get the fictional author is an academic but there are better ways to go about it imo.
6. Biggest surprise? Lou Sullivan's diaries for all the best reasons. I said how joyful it is, but it's also not the usual narrative. His life was messy and his gender journey even more so and I don't think I've ever read something so relatable, like honestly ever. He didn't always know, he didn't write about dysphoria or being trapped in the wrong body or whatever, all his discoveries about himself are always marked by happiness and how right he feels, and how he just loves being a man, loving men and I don't think there's enough lit (gay and/or trans) that focuses on that, the happiness of being trans and gay. I started this book expecting it to be sad (cause, you know, AIDS) but I came out of it feeling happy and with all the negativity often going around trans spaces (specifically gay trans men spaces) it's,,, nice, really nice. I didn't know how much I needed this book until I read it, and I'm so incredibly happy I did.
7. Favorite new authors? I didn't read any book from a new author that made it into my faves yet? I really liked The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo but I wouldn't say it's fave material, just really good and definitely worth a read. We'll see if second half of 2022 will deliver more :')
8. Newest favorite character? Can I say the Gangsey? Definitely the gang from TRC, I love them all to bits they're my children I'm adopting all of them and Chainsaw and that's that nobody touches them I will protect them with my life.
9. Newest fictional crush? I do am very gay for Jacob Reckless (Reckless by Cornelia Funke) but that's nothing new, it's been going on for years I'm a lost cause at this point smh
10. Book that made you cry? We Are Okay by Nina LaCour made me tear up quite a bit, the way it deals with grief and the importance of solitude and growing up and figuring yourself out it's just *chef's kiss* and the way it's written it's like a warm hug from a friend in front of a fireplace and it's so comforting to read and while the title may seem misleading at first (they are Not Okay) by the end I was left with this cosy feeling that yeah maybe they will be okay after all, and even if life can be a mess sometimes it'll all work out in the end.
Also TRC (specifically the end) but that's just cause I was deep in the feels tm
11. Book that made you happy? Again, Lou Sullivan's diaries <3 queer joy is the best joy.
Also Fairy Oak - Il destino di una fata by Elisabetta Gnone came out this year and it's sort of an extra content collection for my favorite kids series and even if it's been 20? years since I read the series as a kid I still love coming back to the magic and the world in these books and getting to know these tiny little extra details about all the characters and the village I'll never grow tired of it.
12. Favorite book adaptation you saw this year? Haven't read the book but The Handmaiden was so unhinged and chaotic and Great and I loved it, can't believe it took me this long to watch it oh was it good. Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell was also great, both as an adaptation and as a mini-series, almost as chaotic and unhinged, definitely creepy and unsettling, also the fx were just *chef's kiss* so good. Great vibes all around no complaining here.
Also honourable mention to The Magicians for still making a mess of me on this rewatch.
13. Favorite review you’ve written this year? Bold of you to assume I write reviews.
14. Most beautiful cover? The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon has The Most Beautiful cover I've seen in a while, truly stunning, the colours the dragon, the style is just. Wow.
Also not as stunning but TRC has some truly gorgeous covers seeing them all lined up on the shelf is hhhhhh so. nice.
15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year? I still have A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara in my TBR and I plan on reading this summer but am waiting for my beloved kobo to come back from maintenance. I'm also curious about The Secret History by Donna Tartt after seeing so much of it on my dash, and I wanted to read more quality dark academia so ig it's the perfect book to start with jhjkj. I'm also planning on finally reading Coraline by Neil Gaiman and then I have Le Otto Montagne by Paolo Cognetti which I know absolutely nothing about cause it was a surprise gift from a friend but they promised gay and wilderness and mountains and the cover looks so pretty and winter-y so I'm def hype to read.
I'm tagging @pollyna @bismuth-209 @abramminyard @maybemountains @theblackswanuniverse if you want to do it ^^

One of my biggest problems with the show was that it made being a martyr the ultimate goal, as if sacrifice and suicide were something to be proud of as the most honorable thing in the universe. Hear me out here, every single one of the members of voltron died or almost died at least once in a form of sacrifice. Now don't get me wrong, I support our soldiers and all who have sacrificed or fallen in the line of duty- but that's not a script. That's real, something that's seen as sad and noble because there's no way on earth we can imagine what went down at the time. Putting it on TV is something else entirely. I'm all for the actors who do it in movies because A. It moves the plot along or B. It's only done once. ONCE. Voltron did this every chance they got, and there was no sign of stopping. Even when they got back to earth, they all agreed that they were better off dead saving the earth rather than staying alive, keeping the universe's ultimate weapon in one piece and continuing to defend the universe against the one enemy that has had no slowing down or failures until voltron showed up. Not only is that selfish as a person's standpoint, but it's incredibly stupid for a soldier. Save what you can, but most importantly save what saves others, otherwise you're lost and unable to save anyone else until it can be replaced, and voltron itself is one of a kind.
But let's step away from the main 7, shall we? What about the background characters? Like Reiner, who literally stayed on a crumbling planet to make sure everyone else got off but refused to step into the last ship because "there wasn't any room left" even though you could clearly see some available. Or any BoM fighter, they all could have easily survived if the writers hadn't insisted that death is the only way to make them worth remembering. Or how about the earth general (who I can't remember because A. There were a few of them and they blended and B it's been a year of boycotting the show because of this BS and my memory is a little iffy) who got herself into trouble, got everyone else into trouble, then was paraded around as a hero because she sacrificed herself in the only form of redemption that DW apparently knows how to show and gave her facetime for saving everyone from the screw up that she herself put everyone in because she was too stuck up and stubborn to listen to anybody despite all the facts and proof pointed out to her face. Forget about the people she killed because of her stubbornness, oh no, we can forget about the measly two and a half minutes of Adam's life because this chick, another woman of power, decided that she was wrong a little too late and stopped one bad guy.
And how about the time Keith tried to crash his tiny, useless galra fighter ship that can easily be taken out by a single laser but apparently can destroy a force field that hasn't budged an inch after several high powered lasers had already attacked it- because that'll work and it's the ONLY way TO work. Again, we're touching on stupid here when it comes to logic, but then we were promised that Keith would get a "stern talking to" about his actions because what he did was Not Okay (tm). Then what happens? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Keith's attempts to kill himself were completely swept under the rug and walked away from in order to move the story along.
Where I come from, death happened a lot. There are people I didn't graduate high school or even middle school with because it was a hard place to live in and there were only 5 options to escape/get out of the city/situation: 1. Gang, 2. Drugs, 3. Military and 4. Get a job. (I fell into category #4). If you'll notice, of the five options, only one gives you a 100% chance of living. Not even college could save us because not many of us could afford it. The ones who wanted to get out, to go to college, they were recruited into the military as early as middle school because poor neighborhoods make for good propaganda and recruitment areas. Rich kids don't need to go to war because their parents can afford to send them to school. And with this in mind, my friends, my high school teenage friends, they signed up for it like flies to honey. Out of all of my friends who entered, only one came home untouched.
Excuse my ramblings, I'm angry, because once again the military was used on kids to fight someone else's war, but that's not what this is about. This is about option #5: suicide.
I knew too many people who stopped fighting and just gave up because their circumstances or the people who were in charge let them know that there was no future for them. That nothing would get better unless they tried harder because there was no other way around their problems, no loop holes, no back roads. They were convinced, honest to God convinced that the world would be a better place without them because they were told these things and they ended up dying because no one tried to show them another way out of their problems.
So yes. I am angry. I am hurt and disgusted by those actions from the adults in our lives, but more than that, I'm disappointed because we were kids. KIDS. Not even 18 yet.
Voltron was incredibly impressionable, to the point where people turned into abusive stalkers because the characters that they adored weren't getting the attention that they deserved. DW had the power to manipulate people very well, and they did so VERY well with all of the dragging along and crap that they pulled. Nonetheless, people found themselves in the characters and clung onto them. With this in mind, we're getting into the point that I've been trying to ramble on about but can't seem to get my words in order because feelings are hard.
The thing about kids, about people really, is that we tend to latch onto things that we can identify with. The same thing goes for suicidal folk. From what I've seen, the people who struggled with suicidal thoughts always struggled with it because they needed a Reason. Something or someone to tell that that it's okay. And now, here's voltron giving them something that they can hold onto and make sense of. Not only that, but that their Reason is justified because it makes sense.
The Reason doesn't matter if it makes sense because to me it'll never make sense OR be justified. But it doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks. All that matters is that it makes sense and is justified to the person struggling. So when they get the impression that it's okay to die because something or someone says it's okay as long as the reason is good enough, there's their answer.
Now tell me something; why on God's green earth are we showing a kid's show to kids and telling them that the only way they'll ever be worth something is if they sacrifice themselves?
But OP, DW said this wasn't a kids show!
And yet the age group begged to differ when it came to fans. Forget the little kids who liked the show (at first), let's talk about how the show was designed towards teens and adults. Teens, who are still kids, and adults with depression. The show was rough enough as it was but it was manageable because it moved the story along. Then they had to cross the line in the final few seasons and push it too far. If DW had been professional and taken up the responsibility that they had dropped themselves into, they would have accounted for all of the younger fans that they had all knowledge of and adjusted the script to accommodate.
But OP, you can't blame DW for someone else watching what they were told wasn't for them. That's like blaming the movie director when a little kid goes to watch a rated R movie.
You're right, I can't. But I will. Because they knew how much power they had over the fan base, knew how young their audience had become, and rather than a movie that was already done and over with, DW had the chance to change and decided against it. They decided to stick with glorifying death and sacrifice and suicide when depression rates have skyrocketed in recent years.
Maybe I'm bitter. Maybe I'm angry. Maybe it hurt more because of bad timing due to the release date being around the same time as one of my friend's anniversaries and Allura got a fucking statue in her honor for killing herself instead of sacrificing voltron- the first time in the show, mind you. I don't know.
All I know is that I'm disappointed.
The racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism and cruel tropes in Voltron
So, it’s the anniversary of the ending of Voltron. And I’m getting really, really tired of people saying that only shippers hated the ending. There were many issues with Voltron, and they were neither limited to shipping nor to S8.
So, I’ve decided to compile a list.
It gets LONG. Turns out there was a hell of a lot of racist, sexist, ableist and cruel tropes in VLD.
In fact, I had originally planned on writing a list of both the terrible tropes and the plot holes. But there just wasn’t enough room for both. The post is huge as it is, and with the plot holes, it would have been twice as long, so I had to focus on only one thing.
Salt, obviously. So, so, so much salt. I could turn a lake into a sea here. You’ve been warned.
