The fact that a news outlet (TMZ) decided that their need to get a scoop justified posting partial pictures of a young man's body just to demonstrate that it was his tattoos is the grossest fucking thing and I hope every single person who signed off on it regrets it every day for the rest of their lives.

Liam was dehumanised to a commodity from the age of 16 and the fact that even in death he's being treated like this is disgusting. I'm so sad and I'm so mad and I hope his family sues (if that's what they want to do).

There is no reason to share 'news' like this. It isn't journalism, it isn't in the public's interest. It's grubby and foul and to not even put a warning of the article's contents in the headline is fucking cruel.

Fuck TMZ.

There’s a new documentary on Luigi being dropped tomorrow by TMZ with some new details ie. Someone with him in Thailand said he went to a shooting range there, a couple months ago he was apparently staying in a hostel and was using the name on the fake ID and it looks like there’s some stories from high school about him sometimes lashing out at people. They posted a video on their TikTok account.

i'm going to log off the internet here in a minute, because i don't think it's a place i need to be right now. but i would just like to echo how absolutely fucked up it is that TMZ and other major news outlets are allowed to post this kind of thing before families are notified.

i am absolutely... overwhelmed with the amount of grief i feel for his family and close friends. it's late in the UK, and this shit was posted online SO FAST. there is just... no chance his family was notified before it went public.

and it makes me sick.

this shouldn't be legal for them to do.

this is human life we're talking about. real human grief. real human emotions. which is so much more important than clicks and views and money. i know cash is king, but my god... have some fucking respect.

losing anyone in your life is so hard, i can't imagine what it's like to learn about it through goddamn TMZ.

please don't spread the news articles. don't give them more clicks than they already have. please respect the privacy of everyone who actually knew him and spent time with him. i can't even imagine what they're going through right now.

and for all of us that didn't know him personally but loved him and grew up with him: i love you. we will get through it together. it's okay to grieve and to feel sadness and to mourn what the world has lost. please take time off the internet and step away from all the repeat articles. please take care of yourself first.

and please, please, please, leave his family and friends out of it. let them have their space, too.

let’s all agree that we hate tmz!!! i watched that stupid documentary and was fact-checking as it went, i’d say that probably 80% of it was totally fake and made up😭 i think if he’s found not guilty, he should sue for defamation of character…🙄

Now that I'm off tik tok I kind of have no source of news/information anymore. I refuse to get back on that sellout meat rider of an app, and im certainly not using X or Meta.

What have other people been doing to get information other than tumblr in this post-apocalyptic era of the internet?

Obviously there's places like TMZ, and the night comedy shows are usually pretty quick. But like- it's not the same. Tik tok was so unique in that way that I don't know if any one site can take its place.

(Edit: For the record, tik tok was the quickest way I heard about things, not the only source I took as truth. Apologies to those worried i took it all as fact 😅 Obviously more research was necessary when I heard about things. It's just that tik tok was so quick)

Honestly, Liam's family has the right to sue TMZ as they broadcasted his deceased body for the world to see even before the police notified them first.

Imagine finding out that your son and brother is death from the internet the same time as the rest of the world did.

That preview for the TMZ "documentary" (used sooooo loosely here) made my blood boil. TMZ is so ghoulish. Like you already pointed out this is a violation of his right to a fair trial. Also TMZ does not let the truth get in the way of a good story so I'm worried it will be full of lies.

Praying that him and his lawyers are on their asses to sue them for making this “documentary”
