SEND ME A FANDOM
I’ll tell you:
( selectively accepting )
@albusmiles said:  code geass for the fandom prompt thingy ( only watched 3/4 of season 1 so this is going be a little incomplete ).
The first character I first fell in love with: None of them stuck out to me at first but I’d say either Lelouch or Euphy. Maybe Suzaku??? Kallen? I really don’t know. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: I guess Shirley?? The character everyone else loves that I don’t: C.C. I just can’t stand her. The character I love that everyone else hates: Jeremiah. But does the fandom hate him? I am not really sure on this. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Lloyd. He was fun at first but I think my fondness of him has went down in years. He still is fun to watch though. The character I would totally smooch: Lloyd probably. Not a lot of the adult characters are nice and all that, even him but at least he has his okay moments. The character I’d want to be like: I guess Nunnally??? Or maybe Shirley?? I really don’t know. The character I’d slap: The person whose great idea was to start the countries / lands war. Fuck them. A pairing that I love: Lulu x Shirely and Lulu x Kallen. Maybe a Lulu x Suzaku and Suzaku x Euphy as well. A pairing that I despise: Lulu x C.C. Seriously, nope. Get that shit away from me.

Custom Toonami Block Week 78 Rundown
Code Geass: Lelouch finally confronts Charles in the Human Instrumentality Elevator but before his laser Geass bullshit can kill him, he steals C.C.’s Code and becomes immortal. Now that Charles is at the highest Geass level, C.C. like “Oh yes Imperialist Daddy kill me cause Lelouch is too chicken to” because she wanted an out for her immortality all along. But she’s been saving Lelouch this whole time and didn’t force the Code on him like was done to her so she clearly has a soft spot for him. Also Viletta and Sayoko are having a ninja fight over Ohgi and Nia’s developing nukes or some shit. Ironically now that we finally know who C.C. is, she’s lost her own memories so her character is always incomplete. But Lelouch has busted up the Thought Elevator and Charles is stuck there so showdown postponed I guess.
Inuyasha: Naraku continues his plan to cover Sesshomaru in his goo and take him inside himself… not gonna bother rephrasing that. But he gets jumped by Inuyasha’s barrier breaking powers and absolutely wrecked by both of them once Inuyasha inadvertently saves Sesshomaru. Ironically Inuyasha’s able to stop himself being absorbed while Sesshomaru isn’t, implying he’s stronger at this point but who knows. Anyway Naraku just kinda rockets away on a poison cloud and Sesshomaru’s about to turn full doggo and chase him but the writers remember we’re never allowed to see full demon Sesshomaru again until he regains his arm and Naraku tells him “Hey yo Rin’s about to get murdered, better go take care of that instead of finishing the series now” and Sesshomaru’s out of bluffs pretending he doesn’t care. Everyone realizes if Sesshomaru catches Kohaku killing Rin or about to kill Rin he’ll straight up murder Kohaku which is exactly the level of head-fuckery Naraku wants. They stop Kohaku from killing Rin but he keeps attacking Sesshomaru and Sesshomaru’s like “Oh, you WANT to die, well tough shit buddy, I’m not in an accommodating mood today so you live mother fucker” because even he realizes Naraku wants him to murder Kohaku for some reason. It’s interesting to see him spare a human out of spite but also kind of take pity on Kohaku, his tolerance for humans is slowly but surely growing.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Well we’re on the boat to the Dark Tournament, aka the first episode of Hunter x Hunter, and the totally not Genkai Masked Man uses the move Genkai taught Yusuke to wipe out all the competition, wonder who they could be. Like even Kuwabara’s guessing it’s Genkai at this point, we have no excuse. Anyway the other demons get pissed at the loss and everyone has to murder them all to be let through, including one dude Yusuke kills while still sleeping off his training hangover. We meet two of the first team they’ll be facing and it’s standard “Grr rawr, we’ll crush you” shit from a little boy and an Buttrock Band singer. Also Keiko and Shizuru are on the way to the tournament courtesy of Botan and Yusuke’s mom is left at home for no reason despite being in the arc in the manga, we just couldn’t handle more Milf Urameshi action.
Fate Zero: This is basically a summary episode, we have Kirei/Gilgamesh and Kiritsugu summing up where we’re at right now with the war and who’s involved. Kirei doesn’t have any more ninjas so he’s out but the Grail’s like “Nuh-uh, get back in here loser” and gives him Command Seals back even though he doesn’t have a Servant to use them on. Gilgamesh is all “What if we teamed up? Haha, just kidding… unless?” And weirdly enough Kirei is kinda into the soap opera bullshit going on with Kariya trying to save Sakura and being turned into a mummy for it. He’s like “what kind of fucked up person would like seeing a man being eaten from the inside out to save a child in vain?” Gilgamesh is all “Joke’s on you, we’re into that shit”. Also Iris is dying or something so they move into Shirou’s home and Saber ironically makes the transmutation circle in the shed that Shirou will bleed on later and summon her in UBW, guess it makes more sense why Shirou lives in a bullshit dojo house now that we know it was a originally a mage base fortress to harbor his girlfriend and Stepmom’s forbidden lesbian affair.
Konosuba: We kick of Season 2 with everyone throwing Kazuma under the bus for him to go to jail and then Aqua showing her whole damn ass during her pathetic breakout attempts. Then we shift Ace Attorney/Chrono Trigger mode and get a recap of all the shit Kazuma’s done over the past season. It’s kinda funny people don’t really know how to feel about him because he is a scumbag but he’s a net positive for the community. He eventually uses his lie detector skills to clear himself but because this is a kangaroo court he get found guilty anyway. But SINCE it’s a kangaroo court Darkness is able to use her own even higher levels of royal bullshittery to void the verdict and delay the case until Kazuma can prove he’s a harmless scumbag instead of a traitor. And they lose Darkness and get all their shit taken. Like I get that’s the nature of the show and the main joke but I kinda wish we’d get more story stuff or have them thrown a bone every once in a while, not a huge fan of shows like Marrier with Children or Everybody Hates Chris where you know shit’s just gonna fall apart in the end somehow, it makes it hard to care. Like this isn’t THAT bad about it but I just wish we’d get a few more serious/wholesome moments thrown in because everything else is just a fakeout.
Sailor Moon Crystal: So we’re getting close to the end of the season here and Beryl’s here and Mamoru just kinda… watches as she fights the Sailor Guardians in an alternate dimension because apparently Ami can just do that, like aside from their signature attacks I feel like the limits on what the Sailor Guardians can and can’t do are very vague, seems to be a problem with a lot of shojo action at the time since powers are more focused on emotion and it just ends up being “I can do whatever I feel like”. Anyway they summon the Meteor Sword from Avatar and cut off Beryl’s power necklace and she just kind of… dies for some reason? Like she was a reincarnated human just like everyone else but she just kinda melts after her necklace is chopped off like she’s been alive a thousand years. But yeah, possessed Tuxedo mask has the crystal and the sword and apparently the sword is the key even though we only started hearing about it like three episodes ago. Usagi follows him to Antarctica or whatever and the Sailor Guardians just… fly there, see this is what I mean apparently they could fly the whole time and just never did? They fight the Four Kings and reawaken their memories but Metalia blasts them away in seconds which if she could do that to the people that were kicking the Sailor Guardians’ asses five seconds ago couldn’t she just do it to them too? Anyway the girls’ former boyfriends are dead and that’s sad I guess even though I don’t think we ever really established which one was dating who so idk if it matters unless they’re all one big polycule. Usagi tries her bullshit fixer beam power and it doesn’t work so her next solution is just stab everyone and sort it out later, not a bad plan honestly, she cuts down Mamoru and then herself and is like ah fuck it, the end.
Durarara!!: The Saika arc concludes and we get Anri fucking up Haruna while Shizuo pounds the whole town in the park with his new demon gloves. But basically because Anri is a little ball of dissociation and trauma more than a person she’s a perfect host for a sword that’s yandere for the whole human race, the void contains the explosion and all that shit. However now that there’s been a Saika riot but Mikado and Masaomi are scared and mobilizing the Dollars and Yellow Scarves (also oh yeah Masaomi is the leader of the Yellow Scarves but you should know that already) to fight Saika to protect Anri except Saika IS Anri and Izaya’s just having fun stirring the pot and Anri’s the only one who knows he’s behind it because turns out when you have a hundred peoples’ memories swimming in your head it kinda helps you piece shit together.

UGH SUZAKU IS MY B O Y I LOVE HIM SO SO SO MUCH EVEN THOUGH HIS HYPOCRISY KINDA PISSES ME OFF SOMETIMES ESP IN SEASON 2 TTTT but ok what i love about this show is how it deconstructs the commonly used tropes in shows like this.
like for example if we take euphemia, in another show, lets say gundam (gundam seed has a Very similar dynamic of euphie x suzaku), euphie would have succeeded. her pureness and goodness would have won out in the end, over the bloodshed, over the war. but code geass is not that show, and it doesn't have that message. not everything can be solved by the power of love, and nothing can truly be changed without getting your hands dirty, and i think euphie's death is really the nail in the coffin for that :')
btw ok i saw this thing that was like . the reason lelouch's geass decided to act up and malfunction Right Then And There was because he was unintentionally betraying the conditions of the contract c.c first set in place. because when she gave him the geass, he swore to obliterate britannia. and when he decides to join forces with euphie, he betrays his initial motivation, thus causing the geass to go haywire at The Worst Time .
but yeah literally. code geass was literally one of the first animes i watched as a kid (i...should Not have been watching it when i was that young but . older brothers tend to be a bad influence 🥲) and whenever i rewatch it i'm still so surprised at how Well it still holds up to this day. it's definitely one of my top 10 favorites!!
also rowan...good luck 🥲🥲 its all a wild ride from here to the season finale 🥲🥲🥲🥲. as always, if you need to scream, dms are open <3
SORRY THIS REPLY IS LATE I Am Still Processing Code Geass... i’m yet to watch season 2 but i absolutely will be getting back to you when i do! i’m sure i’ll have Many thoughts and i have high expectations sdlkjfdslk i hope it doesn’t trip over them
ALSO WHY WERE YOU WATCHING IT SO YOUGN I CAN’T BELIEVE IT DIDN’T SCAR YOU... but oh god, rewatching something (or re-reading something) and discovering it’s still good is a certain kind of relief you can’t find anywhere else
also ramble?? below the cut HH
i feel that in a way, euphie’s goodness did win out? like despite everything, despite his resistance to her optimism, lelouch finally gave in. he was willing to give her idea a go, because he was won over.
the main reason it went to shit is because of the supernatural element -- the geass. and that theory is soooo interesting i’d believe that!
although, that’s not to say euphie’s idea wasn’t overly idealistic and simplified the whole, you know, systematic oppression thing. having one Nice (TM) person within the system doesn’t change the fact that the system itself is fucked up, and euphie only had so much power. so i suppose geass aside, her goodness wouldn’t have won in the end. or, at least, i’d hope that code geass wouldn’t peruse that kind of oversimplified, sugarcoated story.
see something that really gets me about code geass is the fact that the person leading the revolution isn’t even japanese? i think kallen’s reaction at the reveal was really well done and emphasised one of my main problems with lelouch -- he’s fighting for the japanese, yes, but it also feels a bit like he’s capitalising on their pain to reach the outcome he wants (which isn’t so much the liberation of japanese people, but the destruction of the britannian royal family).
which is why i find the contrast with suzaku so interesting; he’s speaking from a place of being in that oppressed group, and i imagine his pacifistic response is due to the war and suffering he saw in his youth. doesn’t mean he’s right about it, but i think i give him more credence because it’s actually his lived experience. and of course, lelouch has been through his own share of trauma, but it’s a different, more personalised trauma.
and i have to wonder if the difference in those experiences -- lelouch being part of the britannian royal family and being treated as such, versus suzaku’s experiences as a member of the oppressed class -- has an effect on why they have such different approaches. suzaku wants the japanese to be treated as people, and the tragedy of him is that a lot of people in power simply won’t ever see them as such (i forget her name but uhhhh the soldier who lost her memory and fell in love with that resistance fighter, but as soon as she got her memories back she shot him? it’s like... despite the proof to the contrary, despite having been someone who loved him, she wouldn’t see a japanese person as anything more than scum).
i’m gonna stop now because this has gotten far too long and you didn’t come for a graduate thesis on this show sfdlkjfdlkj

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection SPOILERS!!
FOR LELOUCH x C.C. SHIPPERS!!! ❤️❤️❤️
IT’S FUCKING LELOUCH X C.C. END GAME!!!!  \o/ MY 10 YR OLD SHIP HAS FINALLY SAILED!!! 😭😭😭 I AM SO EMOTIONAL AND HAPPY!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD EVER COME??!! I honestly wasn’t expecting the movie to even address anything romance wise, or just figured they’ll have a ‘safe’ harem ending. BUT OMG 10+ YRS LATER AND MY BABIES ARE TOGETHER.  ❤️❤️❤️
Here’s some Lelouch x C.C. moments in chronological order.
- C.C is on the phone with Shirley, thanking for her help. Next to her is someone wearing a hat, the wind blows and the face is revealed to be Lelouch.
- Lelouch’s body is recovered but his mind is blank (child-like). There is also a geass mark on his chest. They travel around for a while trying to restore him.
- C.C being motherly and looks after Lelouch, cooking, carrying their luggage etc. Lelouch is unstable and has sudden outburst, C.C hugs and comforts him telling him that he won’t be harmed. (mirroring when Lelouch looked after C.C during her memory loss).
- They both enter C’s world to search for Lelouch’s soul/heart. While near the brink of death, Lelouch’s memories awakens and he uses his geass to order the enemies to die (again, mirroring the anime scene). He then tells C.C that he’s back “Tadaima, Shi-tsu” and C.C replies “Welcome back, Lelouch” “Okaeri, Lelouch”
- Not a LelouchxCC moment, but after getting injured, Suzaku wakes up to see Lelouch, there is some weird BL face touching going on xDD where he tries to confirm that Lelouch is really back, then proceeds to punch him.
- C’s world is destroyed, Nunnally is saved. After the victory, Nunnally wants her and Lelouch to go back to how they were before. C.C seeing Lelouch, Suzaku and Nunnally finally reunited decides to leave quietly. Kallen tells her that she doesn’t need to go, but C.C says that she is not needed here.
- Lelouch chases after C.C (out of breath after a few seconds LOL). He tells C.C. that he wants to go with her, C.C asks “what about Nunnally?”, Lelouch replies that Nunnally has grown up and he doesn’t need to worry anymore, the world no longer needs him.
- C.C then argues what if his name is exposed, Lelouch says he can be “Lelouch Lamperouge”, so how about “L.L.” “Eru-tsu” (lmao). C.C is shocked, and laughs. Lelouch and a teary C.C hold hands and walks off.
Tumblr media
Lelouch.: 待てよ、おい 、C.C. !  / “Wait, Oi, C.C. !” C.C.: なんだ。忘れ物か ?/ “What? Did you forget something?” Lelouch.: 一緒に......行く / “Let’s go.....together.” END CREDIT: (images showing everyone after the movie)
- Lelouch calls Shirley after leaving, she is crying.
- Suzaku (in new zero outfit) stands at the special zone in front of candles (Euphy memorial). A cat is there.
- Jeremiah and Anya at an orange farm, Sayoko is on watch.
- Lelouch and C.C walking in crowd/traveling together.  POST CREDIT: L.L & C.C IN COUPLE OUTFITS!!! (similar to the clamp illustration of them in black formal wear). Lelouch tells C.C that as long as he has the geass, she won’t die, Lelouch’s eyes are all red colored now. He then repeats the line C.C said to him that those with the power of geass are destined to be isolated to an unseen person (but it’s a little different, he says something about taking away the geass from those who are not prepared?).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Incase Lelouch’s “L.L.” thing wasn’t clear enough, the movie pamphlet from the screening basically spells out that IT WAS A PROPOSAL!! (Lelouch wanting to change his name to C.C’s, like a married couple taking on the other’s name.)
“It might be a little hard to understand, but in actuality this is Lelouch’s own way of proposing.” - Taniguchi

Lelouch x C.C. Headcanon...
It’s late, and I’m tired. But I wanted to post a quick headcanon for my Code Geass OTP,because fuck you Sunrise. Anyway, here we go.
Lelouch loves to touch C.C. Like not even in a sexual way. He just loves to have her close. Like wrapping his arms around her,or holding her hand,or having her sit in his lap. It comforts and relaxes him knowing she’s there.

Tagged by @grettalks
I’m supposed to post 5 and tag 10 but I’m too lazy to tag people and spent my time browsing to my Goodreads/MyAnimeList/MyDramaList.info account while reminiscing about the OTPs.....
...and end up listing this many.
Honda Yuu x Okishima Youko (Ai no Mukidashi)
A pair with sorta twisted love. That last scene when they reached for each other’s hands.
Oujirou Sera x Hayakawa Kairi (Love Shuffle)
Kairi is attracted to Death and Oujirou brings her closer to Life. The greatest thing love can do.
Noh x Pun (Love Sick The Series)
Instead of characterization or writing, I ship this because CHEMISTRY.
Touma Saya x Sebumi Takeru (SPEC)
Not necessarily romantic. After THAT ending, don’t tell me that they’re not soulmates.
Okitegami Kyouko x Kakushidate Yakusuke (Okitegami Kyouko no Bibouroku)
Her memory resets when she sleeps and in the last episode she refuses to forget him.
“Even if you forget over and over, I will keep calling your name.”
“Next time we meet, please woo me again from the start.”
Adachi Momo x Okayasu Kairi (Peach Girl)
“I want to make you happy,” she said. Love that makes one wants to make others happy. Beautiful.
Irie Naoki x Aihara Kotoko (Itazura na Kiss, any version)
I’m a sucker for them. Even though Irie is a heartless bastard, even though Kotoko is annoyingly illogical. Exactly because of their imperfections, and how they complete each other.
Yamada Miiko x Eguchi Tappei (Kocchi Muite Miiko!)
That cat-dog relationship that makes you go “UGH JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY” + adorableness of elementary school kids.
Isaac Dian x Miria Harvent (Baccano!)
Choosing one pairing from Baccano! is an almost impossible task, but gotta give it to these two “mascot” characters. THAT ARC WHEN ISAAC WENT TO JAIL AND MIRIA CRIED. MIRIA. CRYING.
Kurata Sana x Hayama Akito (Kodomo no Omocha)
To be honest, I don’t really remember the story, but I remember being impressed by how Sana and Akito make each other grow as a person.
 Haru Glory x Elie (Rave)
After all they’ve been through, that wedding was SO SATISFYING TO WITNESS.
Sakura (clone) x Syaoran (clone) (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle)
Fuck the real ones. Seriously. Fuck them. The clones doesn’t deserve—FUCK THE REAL ONES.
Ichihara Yuuko x Watanuki Kimihiro (xxxHolic)
Definitely not romantic. They’re more.
Saiounji Kanata x Kouzuki Miyu (Daa! Daa! Daa!)
Amazingly more mature version of Irie Kanata and Aihara Kotoko, despite the story is about them (high school students) raising an alien baby.
Sagara Sousuke x Chidori Kaname (Full Metal Panic!)
The story involves world war, terrorists, and giant robots. But at the end of the day, it’s about boy meets girl.
The last sentence of the novel, said by the young man who grew up as a child soldier and has lived almost all of his life as mercenary, “As long as there is you, I don’t need weapons.”
Fujiwara no Sai x Shindou Hikaru (Hikaru no Go)
Not romantic!! No!! But!! OH MY GOD
Kitamura Kou x Tsukishima Aoba (Cross Game)
Childhood friends that knows each other’s worst. He’s her dead sister’s love interest (and vice versa). They work on it and make them happen.
Lelouch Lamperouge x C.C. (Code Geass)
Just because. Also, fuck Shirley just because.
Kougami Shinya x Tsunemori Akane (Psycho Pass)
I went through all that mess of first season even though I knew well that there wouldn’t be any romantic scene in this grotesque chaos because Kougane. Sometimes the most exciting ship doesn’t go on dates, say “I love you”s, or get involved in anything remotely romantic.
Zwei x Ein (Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom)
They fill each other’s blanks.
Ryougi Shiki x Kokutou Mikiya (Kara no Kyoukai)
Mad respect to Mikiya. Loving Shiki is no easy feat.
Iwashiro Tesshou x Senou Mika (Wild Life)
Winning couple from a satisfying love triangle drama. And it’s not even a romance manga.
Cas x Anna (Anna Dressed in Blood)
I told myself that it’s no use shipping the living and the dead, but this book was surprisingly convincing.

Review of Akito the Exiled
Okay so I’ve been making a lot of little posts about my thoughts on Akito the Exiled, but I thought I’d compile some thoughts into one post. This does have spoilers, so I would avoid this if you haven’t watched the series and want to go in without knowing what will happen.
First things first, I did like this series. Code Geass has been my favorite series since it first started airing in the United States almost 10 years ago, so I went in with some high expectations. I thought, for the most part, it was a good addition to the story. It gave us some insight and a deeper understanding of the Code Geass world. I liked that it showed us the EU, a superpower that had been completely ignored in the original series.
I think that the general plot of AtE is kind of boring, that plot being the conflict/war between Britannia (or Euro-Britannia) and Europe. When it shows them strategizing or discussing the war or what they’ll do or anything, I just get bored. It doesn’t quite grab my attention, except for when it includes Julius Kingsley (Lelouch). And that isn’t exactly good, because that’s like the main plot of the story. In comparison, I loved the conflict between Japan and Britannia in the original series, or between Lelouch and Britannia, however you want to look at it, which was the base plot for the first season and a half. It was interesting to watch Lelouch out-smart the Britannian military, to watch the battles, to see Suzaku’s instinct in battle go up against Lelouch’s strategies, it was just all so interesting. And I think this is why the only time I was interested with this sort of plot in AtE is when Lelouch was part of it. It was fun to watch Lelouch strategize and do what we loved to watch so much in the original series.
What made up for this is AtE though are the characters. In both AtE and the original series, we see the general plot of X vs. Britannia, but the characters, their individual stories and personalities and their relationships with one another are what really rounds out the story. AtE did a great job with the characters, but especially Shin and Akito.
Shin is easily my favorite character in this series and the most interesting in my opinion. His entire character arc is so well done. We see his rise and fall, and his eventual redemption and death. They paint him throughout the first four episodes makes him out to be this complete psychopath that has no problems with killing his families and that wants to the destroy the world, and it gets worse with each episode. But right at the end, we learn that he only killed his loved ones because he thought that that was the best gift he could give them. He has a dark outlook on the world and sees it as a horrible, miserable place where absolutely no good can happen, and he thinks that secretly everyone wants to die to escape the pain of life. So he sees it as an act of love when he kills his family.
His death scene had me feeling all sorts of ways. It’s shown that he actually did love Akito, and that he didn’t want to kill Akito because he hated him, like Akito thought. It’s revealed that Shin wanted to kill Akito because he couldn’t bear to think about what the world would do to his little brother, who was so good and innocent. And we find out that he did take care of Akito and help him after he killed their family. After all of this is revealed, he tells Akito that he wants him to live, even though the world is cruel. And then he walks over to his love interest, Jean, and is reunited with her in death. It’s a beautiful scene that is made even more beautiful by the music they play with it (Gentle Flow from the OST if you’re interested). Shin isn’t a good person, it’s not like this redemption just got rid of the fact that he murdered innocent people and children. But it shows that he wasn’t as evil as we all thought.
And I’m going to say that even with all of the criticisms it gets, one thing that Code Geass gets right, in this series and the original, are the death scenes. They’re so much more impactful than almost anything else I’ve watched. It’s sad enough for a character to die, especially when it’s one you get emotionally invested in. But the CG creators take it to another level and are able to hit you right where it hurts. Look at Lelouch’s death. It would have been a sad death either way, but the creators made it beautiful and heartbreaking. We see him sacrifice his life, he sees his life play out in front of him, and the last thing he sees before he dies is Nunnally, Suzaku, and himself, all smiling brightly and happily as children together. It’s one of the most impactful and emotional deaths in all of anime. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. Even with the criticisms CG may get, I don’t think anyone can say that CG is flawed when it comes to the emotional aspect, and AtE is no different.
Okay, I spent a lot of time on this. Let’s move on.
So yes, Shin is my favorite character in the series (favorite original character, that is). Akito is my second favorite, but much of what I love about Akito comes from his relationship with Shin. Akito also has a wonderfully done character arc, where he goes from hating the world and wanting to kill his brother to wanting to save the world and his brother. And his friendships and relationships with the other characters is what makes him feel this way.
The other characters are good in this series too. I won’t delve too much into them, because ultimately, Akito and Shin are the ones I cared the most about. But all of the characters are what make this series good. They all have good stories, personalities, and character arcs. If the characters had been done any differently, I think this series would have completely flopped.
Another thing that I love is that the characters get a happy ending. FINALLY, a CG series where the main characters can be happy for once. Once the war is done, they all retire and live with the gypsies and Leila and Akito are in love. I think it was good of them to give the audience something that wouldn’t completely break our hearts like the original series did.
Now for the things I did not like.
First, the knightmares. I didn’t like how they were animated, and my friend agreed. She compared them to the way the armor suits were animated in FMA: Conquerer of Shamballa, if that helps anyone picture it better. The knightmares just didn’t blend with the rest of the animation. It was that weird, too clean looking CGI that was a start contrast to the rest of the animation, as opposed to the original series where the knightmares were animated exactly the same as everything else. All of the knightmare fight scenes were animated in a way that made it hard to see exactly what was happening, too. The original series may not have been as flashy, but most of the time, you could clearly see what was happening in the fight and exactly what the pilots were doing because it was animated clearly. With AtE though, most of the time I was having trouble with seeing what they were doing exactly, and I think this is partly due to the lighting that, the animation, and possibly from the editing. This especially disappointed me during the Lancelot fight scene. While it wasn’t like I couldn’t see anything at all, it was hard for me to make out what moves the Lancelot was doing exactly, and this upset me because Suzaku is my favorite knightmare pilot and I love watching him fight.
But what got me the most were some of the Britannian knightmares. We see in the original series the evolution of knightmares. The Lancelot is the first 7th generation knightmare. The Black Knights do eventually get their 7th generations, but in Britannia, the Lancelot is the only one until season 2. From what we can see, people may customize their knightmares with different colors, slightly different designs, or different weapons, but they all generally look the same, and I’m sure we can assume this is the case with the Knights of the Round until they get their 7th generation models. And yet Shin has this extremely strange knightmare that is absolutely nothing like anything we’ve seen. It’s a transforming knightmare that can go from a centaur to a normal standing knightmare, and it’s gold with a strange sword thing with gears on it. Why does Shin have such a strange knightmare? Customization is one thing, but his knightmare is absolutely nothing like the other Britannian knightmares. They never make it out like Shin is a special knightmare pilot like the Knights of the Round, so why does he have something so different? I think they just wanted to give Shin something cool and different, but I think they went a little too far and to me, it’s just ridiculous and doesn’t fit with the original series and what we know about knightmares AT ALL.
Next: Geass.
First, the skull. Shin kills his father, and after he does, a floating skull with a geass symbol on it appears in front of him (this is also seen in a painting we see in the series). It offers him the power of geass, and he accepts. And that’s how Shin gets his geass power. Wtf is this skull? I thought only C.C. and V.V. could give geass powers? So what the fuck is this? Why not just have V.V. give him his power? I feel like it would have made a lot of sense for Charles to hear about Shin and be like, “hmm maybe we should give him geass V.V.” because Charles does not give a shit and likes to watch the world burn. That would honestly be more realistic and believable than this random floating skull that we’ve never seen. And other than in the painting, the skull is never seen again. Hell, it’s not even explained what is going on in the painting itself.
Then, there’s the purple haired girl. She appears in front of a European general and tells him that he must kill Shin. From the way she’s speaking, it almost sounds like she’s from the Geass Order. Which makes sense! Wonderful! We’ve seen that before, we know what that is! But then she appears in front of Leila and the two have a conversation that makes it sound like this purple girl is the one that… gave humans geass? She says that maybe they shouldn’t have given humans geass and just let them go extinct, but Leila may prove her wrong, as long as she call kill the corrupt geass user (Shin). So is this purple girl a god or something? Where did she come from? Who is she? Also, why is Shin a corrupt geass user but not Lelouch or Charles? Why does she only want Shin dead? And then she somehow teleports Ashley, a Britannian soldier that served under Shin, to the European soldier and has Ashley kill the European for not holding up his end of the deal to kill Shin.
I’m fine with new characters or plot lines, but they need to be explained. While the entire history of geass wasn’t told in the original series, we had an idea and understanding of it. AtE is throwing in new aspects to geass, but not explaining them, so they just leave the audience confused.
Then there’s C.C. C.C. encounters Leila when she almost dies as a child and offers to make a contract with her and give her geass. But C.C. decides that, because Leila is only a child, she will let her wait until she’s an adult to make her choice. If she decides to use the power, they’ll make a contract. if not, it’ll go away.
Um. What??? Why does C.C. suddenly care about not giving geass powers to children when we already know she gave it to Mao? I’m assuming this takes place after C.C. has already left Mao, so maybe she learned her lesson from Mao? so fine, I’ll ignore that. I mean, C.C. can’t start a contract with someone else since that would interfere with the main story and her starting a contract with Lelouch, so the plot couldn’t let that happen. But C.C. also has a cult of little children following behind her in this scene, so what’s that about? Why not just take Leila with her? Also, it isn’t made clear how old Leila is, but she doesn’t seem much older than Lelouch and Suzaku. So why is C.C. in Europe with a little band of children when, according to the original series, she had been keeping an eye on Lelouch as a child?
But that’s not a big deal. Okay, they wanted C.C. in the series, I can get over them not explaining these things because they’re not a big deal. But can we talk about Leila’s “geass”?
Leila thought that this had all been a dream until a gypsy told her otherwise, and the gypsy told her that her power was the “power to protect him”. I guess we’re supposed to assume that “him” means Akito. But then Leila’s geass power just kind of randomly shows up whenever (also, it’s blue instead of red). It shows up when Shin tries to use his geass on her and deflects it. At one point, Britannian soldiers get in and gun down the room of researchers with Leila, and her eye starts to glow and she sees the past, some people’s memories, and then is taken back to before the room got gunned down and sees the purple girl, and then time restarts and she’s able to set up precautions to stop the room from getting broken into and everyone getting shot. So what, can she see the future? And then later, it shows up when she sees Akito fighting Shin, and it apparently makes people, alive and dead, appear in front of Akito to protect him, I guess? But they don’t do anything since Shin just ignores them and goes to stab Akito anyway.
Her “power” is never explained. It’s completely vague, which is unlike other geass powers, which are pretty clearly explained. The power to read minds, the power to control someone, the power to rewrite memories. Then, all of a sudden, the power to protect him… Um… Okay, whatever that means. I mean, maybe if it only showed up when Akito was in danger it’d be fine, but it just kind of shows up whenever and never seems to do one concrete thing. And does she even really have a power? She didn’t create a contract with C.C., so where is this coming from? Her “geass” was literally not necessary to the plot AT ALL. They could have had the entire series be exactly the same except take out her weird, vague power, and literally nothing would have changed. But they wanted to give her a geass power for some reason, but couldn’t actually give her a real one since that would interfere with the original series. And all that we’re left with is confusion.
Next, the attempt to scientifically explain what the fuck is happening. The Europeans have all of their knightmare pilots hooked up to some sort of neuro-transmitter that will show the people at the command center their vitals, stress levels, brain activity, etc. But when geass comes into the mix, they attempt to use this to explain what is happening. They even at one point make the point that space and time has been broken when Akito is able to see Shin’s memories. Then they start talking about the power of the human mind, and how a human mind is interfering with the physical world. Then one of them points out that the world is only concrete because humans are here to observe it. Um… No? not at all? An attempt to sound smart and deep, but instead I just cringed. It’s just… not necessary and doesn’t really work, in my opinion. Geass is a supernatural, mystical power, and it’s easier to just have people not know what the fuck is going on or how to explain it than to try and get them to scientifically explain what’s happening. It’s a cool concept! But didn't come across very well. The only part I cared about in this scene was when it was said that with geass and the human mind, they could possible change the past or create a new universe, which could possibly be foreshadowing the new season. But that's just a theory; the new season may have absolutely nothing to do with this. I really cared the most about this because I heard heard that and went, you mean going back and keeping Lelouch and euphemia from dying? I'm in.
The voice acting in the english dub was also… a little iffy. Some voice actors pronounced things wrong, like Britannia or Suzaku’s name, while others pronounced these things the same way they’ve always been pronounced. I’m not sure why the directors couldn’t quickly correct it so that everything could be consistent. Then of course, there are the accents, which are given only to the European characters. Why do the French characters have accents when we’re told that everyone is speaking French, anyway? It’s just not necessary and honestly very distracting. The acting itself was pretty good. Akito and Shin came across as bland at times, but when they acted, they ACTED and they did it well. Yuri Lowenthal and Johnny Yong Bosch were still the best in my opinion, though.
So yeah, those are all my thoughts on the series. It wasn’t perfect, but it was still good. It isn’t my favorite addition to the Code Geass universe, but regardless, it still adds a lot to the overall story. I’d say that if you are a Code Geass fan, you need to watch this. And if you’re interested in the series at all, I’d say watch it so you can gain your own opinion on it.
(If you’re wondering how I felt about Suzaku and Lelouch in the series, I have an entire in depth analysis on their involvement here but tl;dr, I loved them.)

Reverse the dialogue, and you totally have an in-character scenario. XD

I really felt annoyed on that kallen and lelouch scene where kallen landed on top of him in a sense where both has something to go back after the battle i mean lelouch was asking her to go back with him, I just felt where would c.c. be after the battle, will she be forgotten after it? Will it be like okay c.c. your job here is done you may go and we will go back to our own ordinary lives, will lelouch just let her go if she decided to go....lol and the list go on, (this is me speaking beyond shipping and as a c.c. enthusiast) and if i didn't know that the director is pushing c.c. and lelouch to each other i will forever hate the series cuz c.c. deserves the best (i mean its very obvious with the official arts and scenes and i remember reading something about it before) (can we also assume that c.c. got jealous on that part too lol what would happen if c.c. didn't speak about tabasco will they kiss? lol) I also really have a love hate feeling w/ kallen, she is really a good pilot and i kinda ship him sometimes with suzaku, sometimes not because i love him with euphie, but really that tension whenever they are together fighting or not Idk if its their strong and badass character but they really look good and compatible with each other but then I really love her with Gino the most lol i mean if i find kallen and suzaku compatible then i find kallen and gino most compatible hahaha Its just that kallen can show that she can be weak/soft can be tired or can breakdown (and not the always strong her) with gino. (I hope you can understand this part) I love it when gino picked her up after her battle with suzaku. How I wished gino appeared more in the series, was introduce early and they had scenes more together. I sometimes dislike her cuz she is over reacting in a lot of times like she is just too much and almost in par with nina's reaction most of the times haha (i kinda dislike/hate kxl scenes in a sense too that its one sided like its mostly k and l shows no interest but sometimes it look like there is a mutual feeling between both of them(i mostly felt its one sided shen watching the movie especially the resurrection) (What can you say about their scenes?, when he put jacket to her while she was wearing bunny girl costume, the refrain scene, when she fell on top of him, when she was captured, their kiss? etc.) BUT if you look at c.c. and lelouch relationship and scenes together its just too consistent lol i just love it how lelouch always assured and pursued her from that rooftop scene after battling with Mao, if she is a witch then he'll became a warlock, when he discovered and promised her about fulfilling her true wish, when she asked him if he hated her for giving him the power of geass and about to do something if kallen did not interrupt and bonus: that resurrection scene when he decided to become L.L. (I LOVE WRITING THIS PART OF ASSURANCE AND PURSUING ABT CLUCLU, MY FAVORITE XD, pls add some if i forgot something) i also kinda agreed to that statement except c.c. part lol going around that Shirley -> Lelouch Lamperouge, Kallen -> Zero and C.C. -> Lelouch Vi Britania but doesn't C.C. knows all lelouch's persona and had been supportive and stayed with him from the very start and in whatever path he chose? 😂 I hate it that people come at c.c.'s age and that she witness lelouch grow up like, is her immortality her fault? Like people are okay for male characters of 123456790 age falling for main girls in dramas or some animes for example but not okay if its c.c. lol SORRY THIS POST IS SO LONG it was supposed to be focus only on the first part about THAT scene 🙏
Whoa~ You’re not lying, this is one hell of an ask 🤣😂😅 I read 4 topics in this xD:
Lelouch, Kallen, C.C. scene
Kallen ships (Suzaku or Gino)
Kallen x Lelouch vs C.C. x Lelouch
C.C. & Lelouch's Age-gap
Let’s go in!
Lelouch, Kallen, & C.C. Scene
(can we also assume that c.c. got jealous on that part too lol what would happen if c.c. didn't speak about tabasco will they kiss? lol)
Maybe, but who knows, to be honest. xD The whole interaction was very impulsive, considering the fact that Lelouch was still fresh off of bouncing back from his depression, which Kallen had witnessed and was at the brunt end of.
When Kallen fell on top of Lelouch, I do believe both of them were thinking about that one moment where Lelouch tried to use Kallen to forget his current circumstances. Perhaps part of Kallen wanted it, but knew it wasn’t right. So I adore her for bitch-slapping him. xD The idiot deserved it.
C.C. was just there... I’m not sure if she was jealous or not. Maybe she didn’t give a fuck xD Before I could form my own conclusions, the entire scene is interrupted again because Zero gets called out into the control room.
Kallen Ships (Suzaku vs Gino)
I agree with most of your points in this part.
Personally, in my own fics, I ship Kallen with Gino a lot because for me, Suzaku belongs with Euphemia by default.
But, I do see the chemistry and the sexual tension that could go between Suzaku and Kallen. Like maybe their fights are really just unresolved sexual tension 😂🤣
I imagine a romance between them would be very explosive, passionate, and rough. I don’t just mean this in terms of sex, I imagine their entire dynamic would swing this way too. They’re really opinionated, and they both literally fight for what they believe in, and their conviction is strong enough to rival each other’s.
Suzaku and Kallen just clash magnificently. On the other hand, Gino’s and Kallen’s personalities probably combine. They have things in common, but not too much to the point of being passionate and aggressive at the same time.
KaLulu vs CLuCLu
What can you say about their scenes?, when he put jacket to her while she was wearing bunny girl costume, the refrain scene, when she fell on top of him, when she was captured, their kiss? etc.
In that scene where he put his jacket on her, I think that’s gentlemanly of Lelouch. It’s something I expect from him considering he was born a prince, and also, he has a little sister. On a sidenote, I adore both him and Suzaku for being respectful towards the women in their circle, for the most part.
That refrain scene was a moment of grief for Lelouch and he was being erratic. I said it once or twice, I’ll say it again. I am so happy Kallen bitch-slapped him. It shows that she’s not willing to put up with bullshit, and believes that Lelouch is definitely better than that. Kudos to her, she may have slapped him to his senses. For Kallen, it was a moment of, “Please be who we need you to be.”
It was a brilliant turning point for Lelouch as well. After Nunnally was given the role of Viceroy, Lelouch, at least, realized that his war and his rebellion against Britannia wasn’t just for his sister anymore. It was for everyone he cared about too. It was for the people who counted on Zero’s idea of freedom and perhaps peace.
In summary, I made my stance clear on KaLulu on a separate post long ago. But the gist was, they may have felt romantic feelings for each other, but it was probably brief and suppressed in favor of their grander goals and all that shit that was already going down. Romance just wasn’t appropriate for Lelouch or any of the characters who had something at stake in the war.
In the end, Kallen chose Japan, and Lelouch chose Zero Requiem. That is that. 😊
BUT if you look at c.c. and lelouch relationship and scenes together its just too consistent
Lelouch & C.C.’s relationship is a slow-burn from the get-go. It’s part of the reason why it’s so appealing to me.
Let’s be honest, Lelouch doesn’t even view C.C. as human until halfway to R1, and C.C. took almost all of 2 seasons to acknowledge the fact that she cared about Lelouch.
i also kinda agreed to that statement except c.c. part lol going around that Shirley -> Lelouch Lamperouge, Kallen -> Zero and C.C. -> Lelouch Vi Britania
I understand why a lot of people like this argument. I, for one, believe there’s a grain of truth in it.
BUT in my own honest opinion, I think that is a little unfair to Kallen and Shirley. I’m sure Lelouch cared about the two of them in unique ways and perhaps chose to hide behind masks around them to protect them and to preserve his own façade. Hell, he lied to his own sister for most of the entire show because he thought it would protect her and would shield her from the horrors of the world. (It didn’t turn out well, did it? 🤣) Still, my point is, Shirley and Kallen would have been willing to understand and know Lelouch’s every mask. Lelouch himself, just didn’t let them. And it was for their own good, I believe.
So why C.C.?
If there’s anyone in the world who can understand people’s multiple points of view, it would probably be C.C... She lived through most of mankind’s history, and she’s been alive long enough to take multiple perspectives in, meet different types of people, and see lots of ridiculous shit xD Lelouch slowly becomes aware of this fact as the series progresses, and we do see him have deep conversations with her from time to time. She’s capable of being objective. She knocks some sense into him a lot, especially during the beginning. One notable example of this that I will never forget is the episode after Lelouch realized Shirley’s father died because of his actions. It showed how immature Lelouch was being and how idealistic -- thinking war only took out the bad guys in his side of the story. Point is, she knows when to chastise him and when to offer her consolation, which is part of the reason why Lelouch would pick her as accomplice anyway.
but doesn't C.C. knows all lelouch's persona and had been supportive and stayed with him from the very start and in whatever path he chose?\
C.C. does know him. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say ‘supportive’, nonetheless wholly supportive.
C.C. had her self-serving reasons, just like Lelouch. C.C. was looking forward to the moment Lelouch could acquire enough power and take her Code from her, so she could die. That’s why she saved his ass a lot in R1 and perhaps at the very beginning of R2. Her wishes and her intentions morph very slowly, and at one point, perhaps even blended together -- half still wanted to die, the other half was slowly empathizing and caring for Lelouch.
But yes, none can deny that she stayed with him from start to finish.
C.C. could have left after Charles & Marianne died, and I don’t think Lelouch would have blamed her if she did -- considering it was obvious that he couldn’t fulfill his end of the contract anymore. But she stayed. She stayed and helped, and kept her promise to stay with him to the very end.
Tumblr media
Lelouch & C.C.’s Age Gap
I hate it that people come at c.c.'s age and that she witness lelouch grow up like, is her immortality her fault? Like people are okay for male characters of 123456790 age falling for main girls in dramas or some animes for example but not okay if its c.c. lol
Lelouch & C.C.’s bizarre age-gap is literally not any different from an age-old vampire or any other immortal falling in-love with a human.
I can certainly point out plenty of stories that half this same massive age-gap, and its fans still love it.

may i ask your thoughts on suzaku x cc? there's a fic i just found out about where the unholy trinity are angsty aristocrats in a love triangle. asking because im a hardcore cluclu but damn the drama in that fic is so delicious that im kinda starting to ship them (sorry lulu, it's just for that fic i swear!) 🤪
Oooh I know the fanfic you’re referring to~ Linger by DrMarten is fucking awesome! 😍
I’ve always lowkey loved SuzaC.C. for as long as I can remember. xD I dig fanfics where her and Suzaku are in an on-and-off relationship after the Requiem, and some AUs where they’re teased to have-been together. But here’s the thing tho. I don’t think I’ll ever like them exclusively together. Like, Lelouch has to be in that equation somewhere.
It’s on the same level as my SuzaLulu. I’ll never ship Lelouch and Suzaku exclusively, because C.C. has to be in there somewhere.
(Lelouch x C.C. is the exception, because, welllll~ Kind’a obvious that it’s my OTP hahahah xD)
But yeeeaah~ I love fics that explore the dynamic between Suzaku and C.C... Like, would they get along post-Requiem? Would their personalities clash or combine in an AU? Stuff like that. 🤷‍♀
SuzaC.C. is cool. It’s a cool pairing to explore 😁😜 And I can’t wait for DrMarten’s next update -- whenever it may be. 😍

What do you think about enemies to lovers? Not like small bickering, teasing, hate your friend group to I actually enjoyed our small fights so let's date type of thing but the I want to kill you and I swear I will eliminate your people because I will never agree with your ideals but I am slowly starting to understand you and yet I will never give in and admit to it because you are my sworn enemy type? HAHAHAHA I LOVE IT!
As I am not finished writing that essay yet...🤪 Oh my god XD
I was actually toying with this type of theme for a remake of the very 1st fanfic I wrote for Lelouch x C.C.. It was The Assassin’s Apprentices, and I never got to finish it or make proper progress because I lost motivation like super early on. -_- 😭 (It’s 1 of the 3 WIPs I’ve been picking back up for the latter half of this year)
“but the I want to kill you and I swear I will eliminate your people because I will never agree with your ideals but I am slowly starting to understand you and yet I will never give in and admit to it because you are my sworn enemy type?” <----- THIS actually like really works for that particular WIP because the remake concept was kind of like Code Geass meets Assassin’s Creed where I wanted to pit Lelouch & C.C. against each other. Lelouch as Templar vs C.C. the Assassin
But, I also want that kind of dynamic in a modern AU... I just don’t know what type of activity or faction would inspire such hatred and misunderstanding between them... Oh! Maybe mafia stuff? Like a warring Mafia early Final Fantasy Versus XIII-esque concept. Two rival Mafia families. 😍 (I’m going off the rails! xD)
Ooooorrrrr~ =3 This really cruel idea where either Lelouch or C.C. manipulates the other to fall for them for the sake of money & power. Something centered around politics and big fancy corporations that will require a fuck-ton of research to pull off. HHAHAHAA! I mean, I have expressed an interest in writing Julius Kingsley. He could be factored into any of this.
Plus, Julius Kingsley is 🤤😋
Tumblr media
Yeah, he could totally work in this situation! He’s a SNACK!
I can already smell & hear the angst and drama in that one. O_O
God, I love these Asks. XD I can answer some quickly and some more slowly, but I’ll answer all of ‘em. lol. Thank youuuuuu~
