sorry it’s the middle of the night but do you think rolan deep was ever homesick ? If he couldn’t sleep at night in Chicago where the sounds of cars and trains and people kept him up. Where the lights outside his window were always too bright through his blinds, brighter than anything had been in Galloway.

If rolan couldn’t sleep without the cicadas song, missed the buzz of mosquitos and gnats. Missed the creaks of his old house and his parents snores. Do you think Rolan desperately cracks open the window only to real back in disgust. Everything in Chicago so foreign so wrong, even the air is different.

I think Rolan gets homesick for something more. For the smell of the bayou and something sickly sweet, for the smell of cheap cigarette and lighter fluid. He misses the smell of the earth and bright clear starry skies and the smell of weed and feel of rough denim. I think, late at night when Rolan in between exhaustion and anxiety, Rolan misses his friend more than anything. The feeling of exhilaration at climbing onto the Rands roof at 3 in the morning, tapping Rands window to wake him up. Sharing a cigarette that he hates the taste of, so their hands can touch his for a moment. The feeling of safety and home that he only ever felt there, sitting shoulder to shoulder with his best friend. I think Rolan gets homesick alot.

Hi don't mind me just once again thinking about Rose and how seemingly no one other than Sparrow ad those closest to them know shes dead. Like Lucien mudered her, and clearly had it covered up because theres not even a mention of how someone was murdered in the castle that same night he disappeared?? Not even in fairfax where I woul argue that it definitely should because you're telling me all of Luciens staff were just chill with covering up a little girls death? That they didn't spread it like wildfire amoung the nobility?? Like he killed her and she doesn't even have a grave, theres literally no place for Sparrow to visit other than the bee hives that used to be their shack. Rose is just dead, erased, and theres never really any closure about it for Sparrow, they're just forced to live with the fact that they saw their only family shot in front of them.

Does Clear sky dying (getting turned into a full) have any ramifications on Starclan? One of the oldest cats in their ranks just got eaten like a poptart, not to mention he was the war deity

Since this is such a recent event, I can't say for sure what its consequences are. BB adapts canon material and I need to wait and see where ASC is going in the last books.

Remember that TBC's Dark Forest integration was extremely late and we weren't even sure it was Ashfur into a couple books in. There's a pattern in the modern arcs that they save the juiciest bits for last.

If it were up to me though, and we weren't all watching and waiting (on the edge of our seats anticipating) for ASC to end, I know exactly what I'd do here though. I'd make a pretty fucking huge power struggle as several dieties start trying to make mortal heroes to claim the throne of War God.

Kind of like the story of Paris of Troy, where three goddesses offered Paris a different treature so that he would choose them to inherit the golden apple, and then when he chose Aphrodite the other two threw their weight behind destroying Troy.

But we'll see~

Listen listen listen. I don't know how many younger folks are on here anymore but listen. You will turn 30 and you will suddenly go "oh shit. I kinda like looking at birds. Like I care about seeing them, they bring an immeasurable happiness of seeing wildlife do its thang, and you will start being like. No! No I'm young! I'm hip!! But like, ok, is there anything nicer than being interested in your world around you? What's the name of THAT bird there? What's it DOING? And then suddenly you'll be getting texts from your wife like "I saw these birds" and send you a picture and you'll try to figure out what fuckin bird it is, and you'll have so much delight about finding out the name of the birds

Anyways that post about finding something in nature to care a lot about? It's true.
