I've been given official permission to post pictures of my brother's cat so I wanted everyone to know Chickpea and Nurgle hope you're all having a very good day

I've been trying to take pictures of Chickpea all day but she looks miserable in every single one I've managed to get 😭

She looks like she just woke up from a thousand year slumber

above the cut, she's going to be released from quarantine tomorrow which will be great because our other cat misses her so bad but im gonna miss her sleeping at my feet 😔 it was fun while it lasted

callout post for my dear sweet daughter who didn't poop for THREE DAYS and scared the HELL out of me because i thought something was wrong only to find out it was because she had decided she didn't have enough litter (she had like three and a half inches!!! the normal amount!!!!)

she freaked me out bad enough we called the vet this morning and even though they reassured us she was fine i couldn't help stressing until i realized the reason she kept sticking just her head in the box and chirping was that she was asking for me to put more in

chickpea is officially free from quarantine!!

i would have a picture to share but she also got a bath so she is. not speaking to me right now.

how did you come up with the name chickpea?

My mom came up with it, actually! We were brainstorming names for her before we even adopted her, because we knew from the moment we saw her picture on the shelter's website that she was ours, and my mom thought it would be cute to name her Chickpea because I really love chickpeas 😊 like, will eat a whole can in one sitting love chickpeas.

I actually at one point wanted to name her Chickadee, because she reminded me of one, but because we kept going back and forth between the two names for several days while trying to decide my dad accidentally gave the wrong name to the vet, so she's Chickpea now akajsksj. But it's alright because Chickpea fits her better 💙

Anon, you have excellent taste, she is perfect and precious. She's a very sweet girl 😊 she's a clingy cat, but not in the traditional "wants to be on your lap" sense. She likes to follow me around, and sit close (but not too close) whenever she can. She's my constant companion while I'm writing 💙

She's very social and very insistent on greeting everyone in the house when they wake up or get home from work. Most days when I get up in the morning, she jumps up onto my bed so we can cuddle and she can purr and knead and suck on my blankets. I call it purr time and it's my favorite thing ever because she very rarely purrs otherwise.

She was a really hyperactive baby, though she's calmed down a bit as she's gotten older (she turned two in August!). She's still sort of a menace though, if she gets bored then she starts chewing on my things to get attention.

She's really tolerant, also. My brother loves to mess with her (like holding her up high or gently rolling her over while she's sleeping), and she's never bothered, and when she is she just meows super gently to go "hey, stop it!" She lets us clip her nails no problem as long as I hold her like a baby (which is as adorable as you'd imagine), and in the past when I've had to give her pills she just lets me, no fighting or trying to spit it out.

I've realized I'm rambling so sorry about that but. yeah she's an absolutely wonderful little girl, really sweet and affectionate and my favorite thing in the whole world. Thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about my daughter, take a few of her baby (ish, we got her at nine months) pictures below the cut as a token of my gratitude.

Only about an hour and a half left until Chickpea is free from her quarantine and I think she can tell, because she's been pretty calm all week and now she's getting antsy and keeping looking over at the door waiting for me to open it

Little does she know the first thing she's gonna get when she leaves is a bath 😭
