Social Media

Lush have turned its back on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok until they take action to provide a safer environment for users

All Lush brand and retail accounts around the world are closed and they have promised to invest in new ways to connect and build better communication channels

concerns for the impact of social media is largely ignored and Lush is addressing the issue now

"Like so many teenagers have experienced before us, Lush has tried to come off social media, but our FOMO is vast, and our compulsion to use the various platforms means we find ourselves back on there, despite our best intentions."

This has been really interesting to research - particularly with Lush not using a range of social media platforms. This has encouraged me to consider Lush more as they are having issues with the ethics of social media, which is one of the main ways brands tend to communicate with consumers. This could be a good challenge for me to find new and innovative ways to communicate the brand's message and values concerning animal testing.

I want to continue to research different methods of advertising other than Instagram and TikTok that is still effective and has a good reach. I also need to look into Lush's visual branding.
