How do I freelancing to earn money?
Freelancing can be a great way to have control over your work and projects. Here's a roadmap to get you started:
1. Find your niche:
What are you good at? Identify your skills and experience to decide what freelance services you can offer. This could be writing, graphic design, programming, web development, or virtual assistance tasks.
2. Hone your skills:
If there are any gaps in your knowledge, consider taking online courses or tutorials to strengthen your skills. Platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and websites like freeCodeCamp offer both free and paid options.
3. Build your portfolio:
Showcase your skills and experience by creating a portfolio. This could be a website where you display your past projects or an online platform like Behance or Dribbble specific to creative fields.
4. Find freelance platforms:
Many online platforms connect freelancers with clients. Upwork and Fiverr are popular options but there are Indian platforms like Internshala and WorkIndia too. You can also find freelance work through social media like Linkedin or through your network of contacts.
5. Set your rates:
Research what other freelancers in your niche are charging to set a competitive rate. Consider your experience, the project complexity, and your overhead costs when deciding your rates.
6. Craft compelling proposals:
When applying for projects, tailor your proposals to the specific needs of the client. Highlight your relevant skills and experience and explain how you can add value to their project.
7. Manage your finances:
As a freelancer, you'll be responsible for your taxes and social security contributions. It's a good idea to consult a tax advisor to understand your obligations.
8. Deliver high-quality work and build client relationships:
Meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations is key to building a successful freelance career. Positive client reviews and referrals will be crucial for attracting new projects.

I may or may not get this job partially depending on whether I can scrape up anyone to serve as a reference. But I will never forget that this literal actual owner of an accounting firm asked me if I was a Gemini in my interview and said that he could tell because he's a Gemini too.

UK: Sign the petition - Create income replacement scheme for crew affected by writers and actors strikes
"We want the Government to do more to support UK TV and Film Crew who are unable to work due to strikes by actors and writers. The UK freelance crew who work on these projects need financial support and reassurance from the Government that they will not abandon the crew during this crisis.
The UK Film and TV industry contributes billions to the economy, and a large proportion of production is based on work from US studios. Current US strikes mean that work has disappeared for many UK freelance crew overnight.
There has been no bespoke support for the crew during the strikes. Many are only just recovering financially after Covid and now find themselves again without work. Many are suffering financially and mentally and are having to find work elsewhere. This could have a long-term effect on the entire industry."
The petition currently has just under 30,000 signatures. Government responds to all petitions that get more than 10,000 signatures and at 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament. Please sign if eligible, and boost if not!

15 Inventors Who Were Killed By Their Own Inventions
Marie Curie -  Marie Curie, popularly known as Madame Curie, invented the process to isolate radium after co-discovering the radioactive elements radium and polonium. She died of aplastic anemia as a result of prolonged exposure to ionizing radiation emanating from her research materials. The dangers of radiation were not well understood at the time.
William Nelson - a General Electric employee, invented a new way to motorize bicycles. He then fell off his prototype bike during a test run and died.
William Bullock - he invented the web rotary printing press. Several years after its invention, his foot was crushed during the installation of the new machine in Philadelphia. The crushed foot developed gangrene and Bullock died during the amputation.
Horace Lawson Hunley - he was a marine engineer and was the inventor of the first war submarine. During a routine test, Hunley, along with a 7-member crew, sunk to death in a previously damaged submarine H. L. Hunley (named after Hunley’s death) on October 15, 1963.
Francis Edgar Stanley - Francis crashed into a woodpile while driving a Stanley Steamer. It was a steam engine-based car developed by Stanley Motor Carriage Company, founded by Francis E. Stanley and his twin Freelan O. Stanley.
Thomas Andrews - he was an Irish businessman and shipbuilder. As the naval architect in charge of the plans for the ocean liner RMS Titanic, he was travelling on board that vessel during her maiden voyage when the ship hit an iceberg on 14 April 1912. He perished along with more than 1,500 others. His body was never recovered.
Thomas Midgley Jr. - he was an American engineer and chemist who contracted polio at age 51, leaving him severely disabled. He devised an elaborate system of ropes and pulleys to help others lift him from the bed. He was accidentally entangled in the ropes of the device and died of strangulation at the age of 55.
Alexander Bogdanov - he was a Russian physician and philosopher who was one of the first people to experiment with blood transfusion. He died when he used the blood of malaria and TB victim on himself.
Michael Dacre -  died after testing his flying taxi device designed to permit fast, affordable travel between regional cities.
Max Valier - invented liquid-fuelled rocket engines as a member of the 1920s German rocket society. On May 17, 1930, an alcohol-fuelled engine exploded on his test bench in Berlin that killed him instantly.
Mike Hughes - was killed when the parachute failed to deploy during a crash landing while piloting his homemade steam-powered rocket.
Harry K. Daghlian Jr. and Louis Slotin -  The two physicists were running experiments on plutonium for The Manhattan Project, and both died due to lethal doses of radiation a year apart (1945 and 1946, respectively).
Karel Soucek - The professional stuntman developed a shock-absorbent barrel in which he would go over the Niagara Falls. He did so successfully, but when performing a similar stunt in the Astrodome, the barrel was released too early and Soucek plummeted 180 feet, hitting the rim of the water tank designed to cushion the blow.
Hammad al-Jawhari - he was a prominent scholar in early 11th century Iraq and he was also sort of an inventor, who was particularly obsessed with flight. He strapped on a pair of wooden wings with feathers stuck on them and tried to impress the local Imam. He jumped off from the roof of a mosque and consequently died.
Jean-Francoise Pilatre de Rozier -  Rozier was a French teacher who taught chemistry and physics. He was also a pioneer of aviation, having made the first manned free balloon flight in 1783. He died when his balloon crashed near Wimereux in the Pas-de-Calais during an attempt to fly across the English Channel. Pilâtre de Rozier was the first known fatalities in an air crash when his Roziere balloon crashed on June 15, 1785.

The Stanley Hotel was born with its founder Freelan Oscar Stanley near death. In 1903, the 54-year-old inventor of dry plate photography and the Stanley steam engine was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Because it was believed that fresh air would slow the disease—or, more realistically, provide a pleasant backdrop to his last few days—Freelan (affectionately known as FO) and his wife Flora were sent to Colorado—first to Denver, and then, on the suggestion of his doctor to the wilderness outpost, Estes Park.

Franshises take stuff from their adaptations, and mortal kombat is no different to that. In this post I'm going to show a few things the games took from thier adaptations. I hope you enjoy.
1)The romance between Liu Kang and Kitana
The romance between Liu Kang and Kitana first appeared in the 1995 mortal kombat movie. It wasn't a big part of the movie's story but it was a major part in the movie's sequel anhillation. and it appeared in mk4 one year later in 1996. And became a big part in mk9, mk11 and m1k.
2)Sub-zero working for Shang Tsung
Keep in mind I'm talking about the first sub-zero (bi han). Sub-zero working for the outworld sorcerer, Shang Tsung, was in the 1995 mortal kombat movie aswell under mind control (even tho sub-zero was hired to kill him in the first game). This partnership was in mk9 and m1k
3)Rain being royalty
The animated series, mortal kombat defenders of th realm, Rain and Kitana are exs. Wich is interesting becaus in mk trilogy, his bio has him as an assassin working freelans for the lin kuie. Him being royalty was in mk armageddon and mk11.

The door is flung open as Bela staggers through with a large chest, letting out a small curse as she bumps into one of the cabinets though continues her quest over to Malia. With a careful thud, the chest is dropped and a small nod of a greeting is given before the huntress grins. "I'm here to cash in on that favor."
Fingers move to the lock, opening the chest. "The Stanley Hotel, Room 217. In 1911 the power of the hotel went out, it's owner, Freelan Stanley, took it upon himself to install a gas lantern in each room to provide the guests with some sort of lighting, which caused a gas leak in 217. The head chambermaid, Elizabeth Wilson, entered the room with a lit candle and set off a massive explosion. Elizabeth didn't die, however, instead she was sent into a coma for two years, but her spirit never left that room, and after she died, well she liked to collect belongings of guests. It's a dreadful little place, really. There are some other lingering spirits behind as well, some child who likes playing with hair....the little bastard is lucky I didn't go burn his bones. Anyways, I have some very very intrigued buyers- Shining fans imagine that- who'll pay an incredibly handsome price for these belongings. So I need you to put your little witchy-woo spell over it to keep these items from having any remaining...ghost remnants on them. I'm also interested in your citrine piece- for myself of course. A woman can never have too many rings.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 17, The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park
Welcome to Day 17 of our 31 days of Halloween journey. Today, we traverse the picturesque landscapes of Colorado to arrive at the eerie yet elegant Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. This majestic hotel, nestled amidst the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, harbors spectral tales that echo through its grand hallways.
Historical Background
The Stanley Hotel was conceived by Freelan Oscar Stanley (F.O.), who ventured to Colorado in 1903 seeking the curative mountain air for his tuberculosis. Enchanted by the serene beauty of Estes Park, he envisioned a luxurious hotel that would match the elegance of European establishments. By 1909, this vision materialized into the grand Georgian architectural marvel known as the Stanley Hotel. Boasting modern amenities like running water, electricity, and telephones at a time when such luxuries were scarce, the hotel catered to the elite, including notable personalities like Theodore Roosevelt and the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Stephen King, during his stay, found eerie inspiration that led to the creation of his chilling novel, “The Shining” .
Haunting Tales
The Stanley Hotel’s charm enthralls both the living and, as tales suggest, the dead.
The Eternal Host, F.O. Stanley: The spirit of F.O. Stanley continues to oversee his hotel, often seen in the lobby and Billiard Room. His ethereal figure has been reported to appear suddenly, vanishing when acknowledged.
Flora’s Melodic Phantom: Flora Stanley, F.O.’s wife, shares her love for piano music from the afterlife. Guests and employees often hear piano tunes emanating from the ballroom, with the keys moving seemingly on their own.
The Curious Case of Room 407: Occupied occasionally by Lord Dunraven, the previous landowner before F.O., the room witnesses strange occurrences. Lights turn on and off, and ghostly faces peer out of windows, creating an eerie ambiance.
Stephen King’s Night of Horror: The master of horror himself had a terrifying encounter in this hotel. His eerie experiences in Room 217 served as a dark muse for “The Shining”, binding the Stanley Hotel forever with tales of the supernatural .
Exploring the Stanley Hotel
The Stanley Hotel invites the brave at heart to delve into its haunted history. Ghost tours guide the curious through the hotel’s spectral lore, while overnight stays offer a chance for personal ghostly encounters. The stunning Estes Park scenery provides a serene contrast to the eerie tales that reside within the Stanley Hotel’s walls.
Conclusion
As Day 17 of our Halloween series concludes, the Stanley Hotel stands as a luxurious enigma, its haunted halls whispering tales of the past. Its elegant facade hides eerie tales waiting to be discovered. Venture through its haunted halls, explore the spectral stories, and immerse yourself in the eerie elegance that is the Stanley Hotel.
