📚What is the purpose of your blog?

The purpose of my blog is to find and archive internet web graphics for other people to use and utilize! I think it’s fun to look for them and use them to decorate things or pages.

I’ll also sometimes create and post my own graphics for people to use!

📕Where do you find your web graphics?

I find them on Gifcities & Glitter-graphics for the most part! Gifcities is an animated gif search engine for Geocities (discontinued site from the 2000’s) while glitter-graphics is a site for people to post graphics (the ones I post from it are usually 10-15+ years old). I also sometimes find stamps on Deviantart to include within posts (these are f2u & will have links back to the creators in the posts).

The ones from Glitter-graphics & Gifcities are all either super old or free to use w/o credit (the usual case is that it’s both) and don’t need to be credited back to anyone. However, the site in which I have found these graphics will be specified within the description of each post.

Even though a lot of the graphics I post are extremely old, If I somehow find out / am told someone isn’t alright with their graphics being archived/posted to my account, I will gladly remove those graphics! 💖

📗What do you use to make your own graphics?

I use Ibispaint, Ezgif, & CapCut! I usually make simpler graphics in Ibispaint & then convert them into GIFs / edit the colors in Ezgif. However, if I want to add a lot more movement to a graphic, I utilize CapCut!

📘Can we recolor / edit graphics you make or find?

It depends on the graphic! I’m completely fine with graphics I created being edited or recolored as long as they aren’t edited to have anything offensive on them. Especially the shiny buttons I have made, feel free to edit those to have different color variants if you’d like!

For the ones I’ve found, if they are from Gifcities or Glitter-graphics, they are extremely old so I believe it’d be alright to edit or recolor those. For example, the shiny IMVU buttons I posted for the pt.1 - pt.3 series were all found on glitter graphics, old, and posted on the site for people to freely use w/o credit. So making color variants of those should be fine.

For graphics that are created more recently by another creator and credited in the description, make sure to click the link & see if they are alright with their graphics being edited first!

📙Should we credit you for the graphics you post?

If I created them, credit would be appreciated but it isn’t required! I don’t mind if the ones I made aren’t credited back to, but It’d be nice so more people can find my page if they enjoy the graphics!

If I didn’t create them and they are from another site, you do not have to credit them to me! I didn’t make them and they are either just 10-20+ year old internet graphics I happened to stumble upon or created by someone else —If there is a link back to a creator in a description of a post for a certain graphic, make sure to credit them if you use that one!

i tend to lean towards making pink edits i think! i love making pink and red edits mostly :D

and i HATE editing yellow or a light green, i don't know why i can just never get it right- except for this yayoi edit i think the yellows in this one are really nice

I can't reblog the original for some reason but yeah. I get wanting a picture of your OCs, I get not having money for a commission, I get not being in the right place (mentally, financially, or time-wise) to learn how to draw. But there are ways to get that exact thing without participating in/encouraging art theft. It's about having basic respect for the people that make the things that inspire you and not encouraging the people who develop these AI without any regard for others.

Also I think this will be one of my last if not my last post about AI image generators, I'm tired of thinking about them and prefer to spend time thinking about things that make me happy.

'Disabled' accounts on IMVU are people who disabled their account from IMVU, they chose to leave all by themselves. They were never forced to leave, they had free will to do as they please. 'Deleted' accounts on IMVU are people who were banned by IMVU for one reason or another. They were never given a choice and are forced to leave by IMVU staff. 'Retired' accounts on IMVU belong to people who haven't logged on their account in a certain amount of years and IMVU staff retires their account/username.

One more thing, if you're a grandfathered creator and you're constantly changing the designs of your already passed peer review products, you're a trashy creator and only adding to the toxicity of the creator community.

Yeah it's cool that stuff I liked as a kid is still around, but it's not the same therefore it doesn't hold the same value/vibes that it did when I played it.

It's all either based on apps or subscriptions or some sketchy 3rd party download. Which is fine, I guess, but not everything meant for a computer works well if at all on a phone/tablet. There was no subscription, it used to be free, and 99% of the content was there for everyone to buy with in-game currency that you'd earn by playing games and a daily log in. Unless you had a member's subscription which got you ACTUAL "higher end" things in-game, it was free. Even still, the higher end, subscription only things STILL went on sale like twice a year and it was able to be accessed by everyone, meaning those who didn't/couldn't pay for a subscription STILL got a chance to have the fancier items. Everyone also had access to a computer whether it was at home, a friends house, school, or a library. Everyone had a chance to login at least a few times a week to play their online game for a bit. And you didn't even need the greatest internet! I played Club Penguin with dial-up and it worked fine. I played IMVU with spotty internet on a half-ok laptop and it worked fine. But now you need seamless internet connection and the weather to be just right with the moon aligned perfectly or else it shits out and becomes unplayable for 2 hours until your ISP can figure out what the issue is, just for you to not have internet at all for a week. Oh you also almost always need a phone and/or a tablet because it works "better" on those even though they were MADE for computers/laptops. But also your phone/tablet is now a way to aUtHeNtIcAtE your account 50 times before being able to actually play the damn game, but not before you're asked another dozen times to invite friends post to Facebook/Twitter accept cookies/tracking and sign up for their 3x daily email that has the shittiest deals for the shittiest in-game items, and the only subscription anymore is to buy content that was in the game 10 years ago for free, and no there's no more in-game currency you now have to use your real money to buy anything in-game. Your computer/laptop could last you years if taken care of properly but most phones/tablets now are made to last 2-5 years meaning you have to spend the same amount on a decent phone that can keep up with the demand of a game that a PC that costs the same amount has no issue doing. So fuck you if you don't have $1000+ to drop on the newest phone just for it to die in 2 years, because your rinky dink $300 computer that's been working well since 2015 is just """too old""" for their mediocre, hardly maintained online game that worked perfect on an okay laptop back in 2009 with shitty internet.

i dont think noobs should be allowed to create when they first sign up and i do mean new users like noobs the very noobs who dont read rules or tos or anything and then create gucci products those mf noobs. i think imvu should make new accounts ALL new accounts wait a 3 month period before being allowed to create and the only way they could create is if they account is older than 3 months. reasons why: most ppl make accs and create with VIP then never log on imvu again or randomly delete their ACC or even lose their ACC bc they did dumb shit like make gucci or steal from other creators and be DMCA'd. reason 2: theyre new. its going to take them time to learn how to do anything on imvu so why should they be allowed to create when they wont know how to do it properly? imvu should offer free programs for newbie creators that allow them to create but with a fail/pass rating system. like during the 3 months they cant create, they go through a training simulation period where they can use a program designed by imvu for newbie creators that allows them to create and ai bots or bots or imvu staff or maybe imvu could create a program and only AP age verified grandfathered in creator users are allowed to enter but it would be where they do a peer review kind of system but on the newbies products in the special program and none of it goes into the imvu shop but its just all practice. but we all know they wont ever do that. anyway, sorry for the long speech but i think imvu really needs this.

When I was like 14 I was super into IMVU, mainly for the avatar dressup & exploring cool maps from various chatrooms.

Except being 14, I didn’t really have a way to pay for the currency you need to get all the super cool stuff for dressing up your avatar, so my solution was... make a new free account & pick a different “default” base avatar during the sign up, then use what little free points they give every new account to get a few new things to personalize that default avatar.

Sooo as you can see I did that a lot, considering every single avatar here is a different account I made just for that purpose. I honestly don’t know why I bothered with the whole thing lol. But now I guess it’s like a time capsule of late-2000s virtual avatar aesthetics & fashion!

So, I’ve been having a hard time recently and decided I need a stress free project to comfort myself with. So I decided to do another redesign of my OG fursona from high school, Pearl:

I loved Pearl. I even made a few pages of a comic for her and painted them digitally for a class. With a mouse. In a pre Adobe build of flash. Unfortunately, all that remains of that are the title page I made for it above and some pencil sketches.

 I even made her my online identity, telling people on places like IMVU and Gaia Online that my name was Pearl. I would post pics of my avatars, but I can no longer access those accounts so RIP to me I guess.

I had already done a redesign of her in 2019 to show my progress as an artist:

And it’s like, idk, it’s okay. I think this is a decent redesign of her as I wanted to draw her back then. But, I wasn’t satisfied. So, I began my project this year by redesigning her again:

Decided it would be fun to not only show off some of my new chops as an artist, but to age up the character to the age that she would be now. So, she’s gone from age 16 (when I last drew her) to 28. She graduated college with a Master’s in Science Fiction studies. She’s living in an apartment in the city just trying to get by working in retail. She even managed to get Tail Feminization Surgery, so her transition’s coming along great.

But that’s not all, because I remembered: There were other main characters in her comic, and I needed to draw them too. Especially:

Sasha (formerly Seepha, idk I didn’t like the name so I changed it. No offense to anyone actually named Seepha) was Pearl’s best friend in high school, and is now her loving wife. Pearl and her are in a punk band together and share an apartment. Sasha is also an activist and food service worker. She struggled with her body image when she was young, struggling with anorexia, but now she’s proud of her natural fatness and curves.

Next was Pearl’s family as depicted in this other comic sketch (god I really with I had been able to save those completed pages):

First was Pearl’s older sister:

Rai was not only Pearl’s older sister, but helped raise her and their youngest sibling. Despite raising her sisters after the loss of their parents in her mid 20′s, Rai managed to graduate college with a law degree and now works as a criminal defense lawyer, doing her best to fight for the rights of people who might not otherwise be able to afford most lawyers. She still lives in her childhood home in her hometown of Poké Oaks with her youngest sibling. Rai has also realized that she doesn’t need sexual or romantic relationships to make her happy and lives a contented single life.

Now Pearl’s younger sibling:

Elissa (I don’t think I need to justify changing her name from Pi. And, just to be clear, it was pronounced Pee, not Pie. So, yeah... no) has just recently started college and trying to decide what they want to do with their life while exploring their gender identity and sexuality. Elissa remains carefree and upbeat with many friends and a love for excitement!

This was just the comfy kind of project that I needed to help me through a tough time in my life. I’ve also realized that I still have a lot of love for these silly anthro Pokémon/ Final Fantasy creature OCs that I made as a teenager, also going through one of the toughest times in my life. I think there’s a lot to be said for just making things that make you happy and not caring what others will think.

This has been a good send off to characters that I love and cherish and I might end up posting more art of them. Maybe photo from Pearl and Sasha’s wedding. Rai graduating from college. Elissa studying late at night with some friends. A family reunion. 

Even if I never get around to those, I’m glad I’ve gotten to share these with y’all and I look forward to creating more art in the future :3
