i just checked the adssettings page (where you can see what google assumes about you to target your ads) and i am DELIGHTED to learn that they know fuckall nothing about me. all wrong. amazing. i love it.
#for anyone interested it's literally at adssettings slash google dot com and it shows the assumptions the algorithm makes about you#and you CAN turn targeted ads off there and also edit the things google assumes about you#like i COULD have told them that no actually Don't enjoy jazz or american football or whatever and i Don't have children but tbh why would i#yes please assume all the incorrect things about me. i love not being known. Don't know why they think i have children but ok#honestly some of the things on that list were things i very actively dislike#i love it. they're not selling me anything if they think i want to play golf
