The walk from the Castle of Lions’ hangar to wherever it was Princess Allura was leading them was unnecessarily tense, in Lotor’s honest opinion. Not one of them said a word to him, and all of the paladins shifted nervously if he so much as glanced in their direction, save for the Black Paladin, who narrowed his eyes at him. As they walked further into the castle, Lotor heard the voices of a few others, who must have been on the bridge. 

“Thank you for sharing your concerns, I will be sure to relay your message to Princess Allura and the other paladins as soon as they return. I–” the woman speaking was cut off by something Lotor could not hear, likely a radio transmission. Lotor recognized that voice. There was something familiar about this woman’s tone, and her accent. Where had he heard it before?

“Yes, I understand who it is we’re dealing with, trust me.” The woman’s voice lowered, taking on an irritated, but well-concealed edge that told Lotor this conversation must have been going on for quite some time.

“However, without him we could very well have all died in that battle. We can’t afford to discard his offer to help the fight against Zarkon without talking to him first. It’s a complicated issue and I thank you for your input. I’ll be sure to pass along your message to Princess Allura.“ Captain Rivera, Lotor realized. And she was defending him? Interesting. Lotor heard nothing for a moment, and he and the paladins approached the bridge. 

“I thought you hated diplomatic damage control?” Another voice spoke, one Lotor did not recognize. 

“I do. I hate it so much.” Captain Rivera made a sound of frustration somewhere between a groan and a growl. Lotor nearly laughed, and the group entered the bridge as Captain Rivera said, somewhat smugly “But that’s not the same thing as being bad at it.” 

Lotor did laugh at that, and suddenly all eyes were on him. The voice he could not place seemed to belong to a young man with brown eyes and hair, who looked remarkably like the green paladin. Captain Rivera whirled around to face him, narrowing bright, forest-green eyes at him, and wearing an expression somewhere between utterly exasperated and absolutely furious. 

He took a few seconds to observe the woman who had somehow figured out how to remotely spy on him, and then had the gall to sass him when he discovered her. She wore armor nearly identical to that of the paladins, with accents of black and purple. Her hair was dark brown, falling in curls past her shoulders, and her skin was a similar brown to what he assumed was common for humans, her complexion most similar to the blue paladin. 

“I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced.” Lotor put on his best, most charming smile. She had defended him, after all , and presumably to a leader of one of the planets of Voltron’s Coalition. Perhaps she would be able to help him win the trust of the others, if he could prove himself trustworthy to her. 

“No, but we’ve definitely met.” Captain Rivera rolled her eyes.

“Ah, so you must be the infamous Captain Rivera,” he said. She studied him for a moment before smirking. She was beautiful, Lotor noticed, and it was infuriating.

“What’s the matter? Not what you were expecting?” She asked, tilting her head to look up at him. The movement was awkward, as if she wasn’t used to looking up to look someone in the eyes. She likely wasn’t, as when he glanced around the room he noted she was likely the tallest one there, under normal circumstances. 

“No, not exactly. I can admit it,” Lotor replied. Captain Rivera raised an eyebrow at him, incredulous. “What’s wrong? Not what you were expecting, Captain?”

i got my car stolen from my home driveway in the middle of the night. i carry full coverage with $500 deductible and also gap (guaranteed asset protection) but could not find my keys the next morning either. i feel sure i could not have left them in the car (08 accord) because it dings extremely loud and that is something that i never do. i always lock my car and i am mystified as to where the keys are. i am concerned that my policy will not cover me if it is determined that keys may likely have been in the vehicle. thoughts or advice?
