What was the inspiration for Joan? I’ve been wondering this since I realized her older design had the same skin/hair colors as Joan Madruga from BlueyCapsules though they seem totally different

Honestly, I don’t know

I remember when I started writing the Cruel!AU I knew I needed a character to conflict with Cruel!Maurice and Cruel!CTW Funtime Freddy. I already planned to incorporate Nightmare as a foil to Cruel!CTW Funtime Freddy, but didn’t know exactly how to introduce him into the story. That’s when I got the idea for the FNaF 4 house being abandoned, and Nightmare being a spirit who attaches himself to a paranormal investigator who explores the place. Joan kinda naturally came next as I had the idea for Nightmare to be a guardian angel to a family, and he latched onto one member in particular, and having this family member be a new student in Cruel!Millie’s school was a perfect way to introduce Nightmare to the story, and a foil character to Cruel!Maurice!

Plus I imagined a lot of Joan x Cruel!Millie scenarios, and absolutely loved their dynamic, so I just needed to include Joan lol-

After a run in with the strange robot in the garage, Millie is left stunned and confused that her own grandfather could've ever planned what had just happened to her.

Someone she loved. Someone she cared for. Only to be told point blank by him that no one cared about her.

When Millie returns to school, she is an entirely different person but not for the better. Her only friends Dylan and Brooke pick up on those changes instantly, but are unable to pry her for any information about what's up with her, and Millie practically begs them not to tell anyone about her strange behavior.

Millie feels trapped. Almost as trapped as when she was in the bear's storage tank. Nowhere feels safe to her. She feels like she can't trust anyone.

That is until the new girl arrives.

Millie doesn't know why. Sure, it could simply be the older girl's similar aesthetic, but there is something more. A dark aura surrounds the girl that draws Millie in, but this time the darkness comforts her. Makes her feel safe.

And that is all she needs.

Joan Anderson, the new girl in town, feels a need to help the younger girl and keep her safe.

But there is something more that she feels for Millie.

Those feelings will have to wait though, as what Millie really needs is someone to confide in. Someone who makes her feel safe. Someone she can trust.

And Joan just so happens to be that person.

While Joan is more than happy to help Millie, she also wonders if she is the right person to help her, as she has a secret as well.

As Millie and Joan plan how to get the younger girl out of her house, Joan's family protector watches over always a step ahead.

Between her feelings for Millie, and the danger just down the street, Joan must act fast if she wants a happy ending for the both of them.

It can't be that hard. Can it?
