listen to me. listen. the problem was never that people en masse dont understand the practice of writing characters as 'growling' in the figurative/poetic language sense, the problem* was people doing find+replace on the word said and making every single dialogue tag 'growled' 'hissed' 'snarled' etc bc they think that's somehow inherently less clunky than saying nothing but 'said'

*yes ofc it's not an actual problem, yes art has no rules yadda yadda You Know What I'm Getting At Though
