“This type of forest is excellent for hunting,” Lassen says, voice lowering more as he slides closer to Freddy. “The underbrush isn’t too thick, offering only limited cover for prey, but shelter and distraction for the predator.” Freddy eyes Lassen’s hand on the gunwale, just as big and rough as the rest of the Dane. It takes effort to keep his breathing steady, and even more when Lassen’s hand flexes against the wood. He’s so big. Freddy isn’t short, but Lassen - well, anyone would look small next to him. His muscles stretch the limit of his clothes, and Freddy’s sanity. “I would think the open space would only help the prey get away,” Freddy says around the anticipation tightening his throat. “They do tend to be faster than predators.” “True,” Lassen says. “It would depend on the animals in question.”
