I have more ideas! It's rattling in ma brainn (About the AU idea in this post)
TW: Mentions of suicide and mental illness
Not all of Stanley's missing memories are gone, a bunch of them are in there, just inaccessible to his consciousness.
His unconscious mind can reach them though, and uses some of them in building The Parable
Stanley and Mariella knew each other since elementary school
Mariella's representation in the Parable is directly from Stanley's view of her
She has been both a voice of reason and a total badass infront of him
Stanley is fairly average physically, in a lot of ways, but he is visibly sturdy, and plenty of "tough guys" have tried to pick fights with him for that reason
Where Stanley tried to resolve such conflicts without violence, Mariella has on multiple occasions beat the absolute motherloving shit out of people for trying to mess with her sweet little friend
Stanley is of course, much more frail after the coma, and even after lots of PT, and generally exercising to make up for the muscular atrophy he suffered, he's never quite the same
It's not exactly a physical difference, just something about his demeanor is changed, despite him still being as kind as ever
People don't pick fights with him anymore
The Timekeeper is the ghost of Employee 432
In life, he was suffering from multiple untreated mental illnesses that caused delusions and paranoia, which ultimately resulted in him taking his own life
Stanley was the only person who treated him with even a modicum of respect, hence why his ghost hangs around him
Timekeeper influences The Parable in multiple areas, and eventually assists with guiding Stanley to awakening from it
Though when Narry and The Curator first began collaborating to wake Stanley, TK was working against them; he didn't want Stanley to wake because he knew that if he did he wouldn't be able to communicate with him at all anymore
His behaviors as The Timekeeper are erratic- varying from friendly towards Stanley to very dangerous for him
Before the coma, Stanley was almost exclusively nonverbal- Mariella could count on her hands the number of times she'd heard him speak.
The Narrator had only ever heard it once. That one time was also the only time he'd seen Stanley be aggressive towards another person, and it quite frightened him. (He also found it quite attractive)
The injuries that caused the coma also rendered him unable to vocalize at all after the fact, which wasn't really a big deal for him, but I feel like it's worth noting
Mariella is a lesbian, and Stanley is bi, and they have definitely bonded over pretty women in the past
The Narrator is gay and demisexual
Stanley is usually very warm! But whenever he died in The Parable, his body temperature would drop very suddenly, which frightened The Narrator on more than one occasion.
The Narrator will often hold Stanley's hand while he's at his bedside
Sometimes, after the coma, when they're living together, Stanley or The Narrator will wake up from a nightmare, and end up in the other's bed (until they share one)
Stanley is the big spoon

Their members have numerous achievements in sports, such as in sporting events for weightlifting and rugby. We are happy to learn a lot about the accessibility from them and it was an inspiring visit for us.
Our Passion
We realized that people with disability are underrepresented within the workforce of the creative industry. Barriers for disabled people entering into creative careers or setting up their own creative business include physical and communication access, attitudes to disabled people, lack of positive role models and inaccessible training provision and poor recruitment procedures. This project expands the creative possibilities of collaboration and builds the capacities of individuals who have been working creatively with disabled communities.
Tumblr media
Budi Agung Kuswara, founder of Ketemu Project hosted a sharing session with eight participants on our art programs and how it has benefited the members of Rumah Berdaya.
Ketemu Project has worked with people living with schizophrenia, and we saw that there is a barrier for people with mental illness to entering the creative workspace. CoCreation in working with disabled participants have found that this problem is just as prevalent in Singapore. By developing a robust model together for creative enterprises to develop disabled friendly partnership and create an inclusive creative economy for people with disability.
Our Goals
The cooperation between artists of various localities, disabled and enabled creatives, will promote mutual understanding and increase diversity in the project’s target markets, furthering sustainable development goals. There will be new actions and processes that address barriers for disabled people’s inclusion in the workforce and market. This project will also pave the way for tourism and creative economy outcomes that fosters inclusive economic growth, social inclusiveness and the celebration of each community’s cultural assets.
Tumblr media

Our Journey
The collaboration between Budi Agung Kuswara (Kabul) and Komang Sudiarta (Loster) is one of our success stories. Kabul and Loster were former classmates in high school. Upon completing high school, Kabul and Loster went their separate ways - Kabul pursued his study in art at Yogyakarta while Loster stayed in Bali to work in his studio to create keliki paintings. They were reunited when Kabul moved back to Bali and found out that Loster has a Schizophrenia. As they talked about their everyday life and reminisce the old times, those conversation were translated to a collaboration on making art. Kabul with his sun printing technique together with Balinese styled paintings, Keliki, miniature style made to authentic artworks. Their collaborative artworks were promoted on Kickstarter, to promote the cause of fighting against stigma towards people living with mental illness. Their collaboration also commissioned by Singapore Airlines as a part of their in-flight shop. This story is the one that inspired us to do the “The Creability Movement”. We hope by this story proves that everyone is creative, no matter of their abilities.

Contradictions
People are rarely ever what they seem to be.
I was rereading old messages and rediscovered a friend’s unupdated blog--the raw, messy, diary-ish type, left anonymous and therefore honest. You’d think she’s placid and relaxed, or at least that’s what she shows on the surface, but her personal writings reveal otherwise. There’s tension, anxiety, conviction, thoughtfulness, and I can almost imagine her a few years back, turning the thoughts over and over in her head behind closed doors.
It’s nice, how the surface is always smooth and one-dimensional, but what lies on the inside is another story altogether--as if people are mysteries to be unpacked, each layer peeled back until one realizes that the unknowing is endless. On the other hand, it’s not so nice when the opacity leads to us playing charades instead of actually talking to each other, or when somebody nearby commits suicide and we didn’t even have the foresight to suspect.
It took a while for it to sink in, though, that what we see isn’t the truth. People usually look fine, even happy and worry-free. They’re upbeat, they laugh at the right moments, they go about their duties well enough, their social media accounts give off a general air of pleasantness. From there, it’s easy to conclude that there’s something wrong with you for not feeling like that all of the time. But that’s an unfair comparison, because as someone cleverly worded it, you’re comparing your insides with other people’s outsides. You’re aware of your most glaring flaws and shortcomings, your insecurities, while all you see of most other people are their surface selves, the part of them that they curate and control because it’s infinitely up for inspection.
But really, everyone is so much more interesting than that. Everyone I’ve gotten to know on a closer level had problems to brood over, and were just as likely to break down crying or drink alcohol or send alarming messages about their current state of mind--all while looking okay from a distance. We’re human, and as pointed out by the immense epidemic of mental illness, contrary to wishes or expectations, we’re not biologically hardwired to be happy. Our brains were better adapted to prehistoric conditions when we really had to push hard on fight-or-flight to survive in the wild, but they’re scared out of their wits in today’s world. This isn’t an announcement of doom--all it means is that we need to let up on ourselves when we’re feeling crappy, and work on developing good habits and relaxing rather than getting anxious.
There’s also the fiction that we’re individuals, or rather unified selves, but we’re more like a cacophony of characters with different needs or--from a biological perspective--an ecosystem of microorganisms. It’s perfectly natural for us to have contradictory urges and to not make sense. We don’t operate on the kind of clean logic that ties together science or math; we are terribly inconsistent, even to ourselves.
That’s what’s so amazing about people, and why psychology is so fascinating, to the point that there are all these different frameworks for trying to understand and they all work, because the darn human psyche is just that multi-faceted.
