After removing the old Aphros chapters off AO3, I have decided to re-uploaded the smutty, romantic Ostian prequel featuring Jespar x Maera under the title SilverAsh. I did this mostly because despite the sudden wrap up at the very end, I'm still happy with how I wrote everything else. And who knows, maybe if I decide it bothers me enough I'll rewrite the last bits of chapter three and the series well be done done. lol Anyways, enjoy :D

Came up with a tropical planet name. Aphros meaning 'sea foam' in Greek, so there we go

Downtime. This was music to the Batch as they took some time to allow wounds to heal, repairs to be made, and perhaps some fun to be had.

Wrecker had commandeered the smallest squad member. The planet's lush jungle offering to be a perfect environment for spotting and diffusing anti-personnel mines. Tech and Echo busied themselves with delving into the metal bowels of the Marauder seeing to recent wounds she had received from a recent mission. This left the sergeant and their former bounty hunter, and a more leisurely approach to biding their time.

The pair had taken to the beaches near a small village. Their armor still with the ship in exchange for civilian attire. To the locals' untrained eyes, the couple appeared to be mere tourists. This means of lying by omission allowed for the rental of paddle boards.

The sea's mirror surface only disturbed by the paddles pushing the pair forward. The exotic flora and fauna as visible to the pair as if they were viewing them through glass.

“This is...” she trailed off before a yelp came from her.

A beast resting amongst the sand and silt began to stir. The unfurling of its massive wings had breached the surface brushing the board. The sudden jolt knocked the former bounty hunter's feet out from under her. The salty tang of the sea flooding her senses before she came up for breath.

As she broke the surface, a shadow eclipsed her form.

“Are you alright, mesh'la?”

Taking in his concerned expression left the feeling of embarrassment to sink beneath the waves.

“I am now.” She smiled.

cyno is really good at giving massages. if you ever feel cramped or tensed up in any part of your body, let him know, give him a few minutes, and your problem will be gone with the wind. do expect a peck on the forehead afterwards, as well. if you ever return the favour after one of his longer outings, he’ll just melt into you completely.

considering i’ll send the mutuals their compliments, i’ll just put the ones for myself here:

1. i quite like my dry, sarcastic narrative voice which pops up now and again in my fics. i don’t always remember that i’ve used it, so when i’m rereading some of my writing, it comes as a pleasantly funny surprise. 2. i think my descriptive writing’s pretty good. 3. i’m creative and usually find it easy to get inspired or come up with ideas. (the only issue with that is when i have too many ideas and not enough motivation to write them all…) 4. aphros was good. i liked aphros.  5. this isn’t necessarily writing-related, but i think i’m a pretty insightful person. so… yeah.

Laughing, Aphrodite winked and folded herself down, until Helen was taller though she herself was yet still broader in this shape, despite the weight difference. Until her long hair wasn't quite so long, until it shone red-gold the sunlight. Until the hand on Helen's cheek was sturdy and broad, worn with callouses none of the blessed immortals would ever be touched by unless they chose to. Until Helen was staring, wide-eyed, such as when a doe has carefully stepped out past the last trees of the forest, onto the meadow to seek tender growth, and finds herself unexpectedly face to face with a wolf lurking in the grass, waiting just for such unwary quarry to come within its reach, and gaping she touched a finely turned jaw, covered by short, reddish-blond beard.

"Aphro--- I'm not kissing you like this," Helen proclaimed, taking a step back.

"Not at all?" Aphrodite teased, laughing again as she snatched Helen's hands up with the hands of her would-be husband, leaning over as she brought them close to press a kiss to Helen's knuckles. what are some of your headcanons that have made it into random smut fics?

It was most distinct with Transistor--Reprise touches briefly on how I think the altercation at Red’s concert went down, while Encore touches on what I think her return from her hiatus looks like. Both times I was like, hey, self, do you really wanna put these concepts in smut? Maybe you could put ‘em in something a little more open to all readers? And then, I didn’t do that.

Strain is actually... surprisingly free of such things? Which is how you really know it’s a pwp. It does, at least, summarize my impression of Meg and Zag’s dynamic extremely well.

The one I’m working on currently has Aphrodite explaining that Hephaestus doesn’t really like to come to Olympus often, implying that he’s estranged from Zeus; Dionysus’s response to this revelation is to uncomfortably suggest that he kinda gets that. Because I’m very, very intrigued that Dionysus and Artemis both--despite their dissimilarities--speak of Zeus in a sort of “better say positive things through gritted teeth” sort of way, what that means about Zeus as a father. ...But maybe this kind of fic isn’t the venue to talk about that????? Maybe??????

Reviewing some of my previous fandoms, it looks like this may actually be a newer tendency! Although I’m almost always approaching smut, as with anything I write, in sort of the vein of “here’s how these characters interact and feel, in this essay fic I will prove”

Some musings on Aphros

So, as it is plainly obvious, I have not been able to work on much of my fic as I would like, at least with regards to releasing chapters of story, either chronologically or sporadically. I won’t get into the whys as it’ll feel like I’m making excuses. I would rather figure out on how to go about sharing them~ The bright side: I have continued to writen tons of notes and pages about my Vyn-related headcanons, plot summaries, and pure dialogue. The only reason why I’ve been reluctant on sharing them is that they’re fluid and change as time goes on and on a whim. That said, would people still be interested in me sharing them?

Aphros will remain as the the main entry that gets chronological/sporadic chapter updates as they happens.

Additionally, I’m thinking of making a new work (or works) on my AO3 account. The sorts of works different than what I think AO3 is used for?

I’m thinking:

A work for detailed plot summaries (no dialogue), with chapters that cover events both specific to the game and headcanon.

A work for non-plot specific headcanons (example: Character/OC backstories)

A work for dialogue only scripts, with non-dialogue notes summarizing location, time, etc (there are where I often start off my chapters, with folks talking).

Bear in mind, as these are all my notes and stuff that are as fluid as I feel like adjusting them. So there will be times when I update the works on AO3 as well (I’ll likely date the updated chapter titles of the works and highlight the changes/show what has been cut just so people can see where adjustments have been made).

What do you guys think? Do you have any suggestions? Feedback?

Sometime about that statement seemed to have knocked you out of your daze though he could tell the hot flames of desire were still burning in your blood. You weakly tried to pull his hands off of you, squirming and twisting in his grasp. While you stood no chance against him and the one hundred years of experience he had, this was not even a half hearted attempt to get free. That had him laughing low and rough in your ear, a rush of delight racing over him when gooseflesh burst across your bared skin. You hadn’t said anything yet but he could tell he already had a permanent grip on you.

“You know that won’t be enough to get away.” Hitoshi purred wickedly, “You could have just asked me to play a villain for you, precious.”

Strong hands took a hold of your wrists, easily prying your hands outward and leaving them suspended in the air at eye level. It rendered you helpless for him, as you both wanted, but still gave him access to kiss your sensitive skin. To taste you. The heady pump of your blood brought him closer down to your neck, sucking in a deep breath so he could smell you. The call was too strong for him to ignore any longer and he sank his ravenous fangs into the flesh of your neck.
