They're just generally shocked I guess!

Ryuu and Kazuma have been keeping an eye on Phoenix (they have a soft spot for him) so they obviously got to know his circle of friends, including Edgeworth. And Hosonaga, I'm imaging they haven't seen him in years. So this being their first run-in after a while, and the unexpected connection of someone they knew from their past with someone their descendant is close with present day, it's kinda like, what!! small world I guess! I just exaggerated their expressions for comedic effect.
