SS : Everyday - Chapter 6

Wataru: How crazed! I like that about you! It's surprisingly rare to find people who are as scrupulous as you are!

Gatekeeper: Hmph. If everyone worked like me, as diligent as a machine, human society would have been more complete a long time ago

Wataru: (...Hmm?)

Wataru: I've heard that you've been held captive like a "princess locked in a tower"(1) for a quite a while, so it's wonderful to see that you are looking much healthier than I thought you'd be!

Gatekeeper: Hmph. I made a promise with someone, so I courteously "protected" her. I gave her so many delicious foods everyday that she's starting to get fat

Wataru: But still! A prisoner is a prisoner, no matter how well you treat her! You poor thing! Come and jump into my chest, come on!

Wataru: Hm? What might this be, Anzu-san? A love letter? How sweet!

Wataru: ...Hmm? a proposal for a future "fine" activity that you want to produce?

Gatekeeper: Somehow I can't help but agree. I can’t believe this woman. She seriously seems like the type of person who never takes a break from working, even on holidays. She'll die young if she keeps this up

Gatekeeper: I'm fulfilling the mission that He gave me, willingly and joyfully

Gatekeeper: I will stop anyone who dares to come close. I will not allow anything, not even the smallest pest, to enter the gate

(1) Wataru actually simply calls Anzu a “囚われの姫君" or "Captive Princess"

(2) I'm not completely sure if I wrote the distinction well enough, but Wataru calls GK "門番" (monban-san), while GK wants to be called "ゲートキーパー" (gētokīpā), because the prior name is how Godfather referred to him

(3) Not really sure how other tlers translate GK's "宮官だ" title, I'll update it in the future when I can identify what better term to use.

(4) Also I'm not quite sure what other tlers use to translate "御大" (what GK calls the Godfather?), I'll update it in the future when I can identify what better term to use.

(5) What GK says is "打てる手はすべて打っておく" or "I'll hit all the hands that I can hit" which means exactly as it is used above
