#fazilet hanim and her daughters

Hi, what dramas would you recommend to someone who likes kdramas and wants to get into Turkish dramas?

I have no idea if any of these have English subs because I watch in Russian but:

Gunesi Beklerken - started it as another Boys Over Flowers adaptation, ends as it’s own awesome self. If you love fun and angsty romances with hate to love and lots of obstacles set up.

Siyah Beyaz Ask - hitman x surgeon. If you love angsty intense romances and fake marriages that become real.

Icerde - Internal Affairs only as a series and with the two infiltrators being long lost brothers. It’s very good.

Ask-i Memnu - a woman in a marriage to a much older man has a tragic affair with his hot nephew. If you like stylish makjang.

Magnificent Century Kosem - only the first season; each season tells a different story anyway. If you like sageuks or harem dramas. About how a young Greek woman becomes the Sultana and wins the heart of Ahmed, the hunky sultan.

What is Fatmagul’s Fault - a young village woman gets gang raped by a bunch of rich men and then to cover it up is force married off to a poor bystander (who stood by and let it happen.) This is all about her recovery and fight for justice but the main romance is between her and her husband who slowly becomes a himan being so that may or may not work for you.

Kurt Seyit and Sura (on Netflix) - if you like sageuks. About a Russian officer and an aristocratic lady right before the Russian revolution and after.

Kara Para Ask (that one is on Netflix as Black Money Love) - detective and a criminal’s daughter solve crimes and fall in love.

Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari - it’s like one of those weekend family kdramas with a gazillion people but the main otp is gold.

Brazil

Deus Salve O Rei - this is pure romance novel heaven.

China

The Flame’s Daughter - it’s gotten a little draggy but still cute.

Untouchable Lovers - I am getting a leeeetle tired of everyone wearing all white, it hurts the eyes, but other than that it’s awesome and I love the OTP so much!

Korea

Grand Prince - so pretty and perfect and reslly makes me think of The Princess’ Man.

The Great Seducer - I feel my brain cells die a little every time I watch this, but it’s so entertaining in a trainwreck way, I cannot look away. 

Russia

Вольная грамота (The Freedom Papers) - a gorgeous period romance about a young society lady who discovers on death of her guardian that she is actually a serf and has to adjust to brutal new realities. Luckily (and ahistorically), there is a hot Count to help her out. If you like period romances, OMG YES. 

Золотая Орда (The Golden Horde) - so freaking ridiculous and ahistorical but also fun and pretty. Tartars fall for Russians! Russians fall for Tartars! Beards and beheadings for all! 

Spain

Grand Hotel - I restarted the third season. I loved the show so much and got sidetracked. And now I am back! (Netflix did a very weird thing with this show - not only did it chop up eps to fit the 45 min format so now eps end weirdly, it chopped up the seasons! What is says is the start of s3 is actually the 9th ep in s3, they stuck the first 8 into s2. I was wondering how things were happening I had no idea about.) I still care very little for the mysteries but still adore Julio x Alicia and the rest of the characters and atmosphere to bits. Any show that gives me a gorgeous man in period evening clothes running into the ocean full tilt to collapse in despair over his OTP is doing something right!

Turkey

Cukur - awesome, tough, smart etc etc BUT I NEED MORE YAMAC X SENA!!!

Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari - fazilet, shut up! Sinan, shut up! Farah, shut up! Kerime, shut up! Yasemin, shut up! Hazim, shut up! Hazan, shut up! Ece, keep talking! Oh God, I feel like forming a “save Yagiz from this madness” committee. 

Kara Para Ask - so here for detective x jeweller and make-outs.

Sen Anlat Karadeniz - I just want to airlift Nefes, her kid and Tahir to an Australian farm and jam all radio signals so none of the crazies can bug them.

Siyah Beyaz Ask - I still love it, even if the plot long slid sideways. 

Vatanim Sensin - main plot still tiresome, Hilal x Leon still beyond perfect and make everything worthwhile.
