Super happy to have Webtoon translate a bunch of series from Naver, but aoihsdguyasdsbd they miss SO MUCH context with their translations it makes me wanna screeeeeeaaaammm
#fan translators / scanlators don't get half the credit they deserve imho#whenever there's a v subtle language series fan translators go ALL OUT#to be like hey here are the alt readings of the scene where you can tell#that having more than one read is CRITICAL TO THE SCENE#here is slang that is also critical to the scene that doesn't#translate well to english#etc etc etc#official translators often go with regionalizations that just...don't work#the context is removed and the language is just ???#it does not mean the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#it's like netflix translating kdrama subs jfc like PLEASE people know what oppa means#they know the context#plz plz plz don't make it say brother in the sentence#but also don't strip it entirely#your audience has a brain you can let them use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
