💀 - Archer loooves to pretend like he's much above fear, but in truth he's a very naturally scared person who learnt how to hide it really well. I don't know specific phobia names but his most major fears are being useless, being abandone, and failing. Those are just the top three, but really, there's WAY too many to get into detail. The reason why is because all of these can happen at any moment, so he'll often be found overexerting himself constantly as to not allow for failure to happen, and to prove that he's useful so people don't need to get rid of him.

🍎 - With his mom, it was actually really good. Archer and Mary always had a lot in common for better or for worse, so it's no surprise that they got along that well– They could talk for hours on end and never run out of topics, or they could be in each other's company doing chores together without saying a word for hours and still enjoy themselves, it never mattered because at the end they'd still just be happily near each other. Mary encouraged a lot of good habits and hobbies for Archer that others might've thought was weird, but if she approved of it, then it didn't matter to him, because at least his mama would be there supporting it <333 A lot of the reason why Archer spirals so badly after her death is because he feels like now there's no one else who's going to support a 'softer' side of him, so he closes it off from the world and hopes that no one ever sees it ever again, just in case.

🍎- There's no other way around it, Lucio was the worst thing that ever happened to this kid lol. Archer and Lucio never had a single conversation that lasted over five minutes without Lucio starting to yell at Archer, and that's probably the reason for his phobias in the first place. Lucio was extremely tough on Archer despite the fact that he was an almost 40 year old man and Archer was . Idk like 10. Most times he just yelled and blamed Archer for everything as a way to "teach him a lesson" for how the world worked, but he wouldn't hesitate to get physical if Archer dared to take his warnings lightly, or god forbid talk back to him. Lucio taught Archer the worst aspects of himself because that's all he ever saw in him. Long story short this guy suuuuuucks good thing he died lol ! (It's not a good thing because Archer never gets closure ever afterward)

and like, even if it's a character i also dislike, that stuff gets exhausting.

Fandom Questions: 2, 20, 28

2. What is your latest fandom?

Jaime/Brienne in Game of Thrones, which… is unique as a fandom for me. Every other fandom I’ve been in I’ve loved the canon first and the ship came after. Whereas I literally stopped watching Game of Thrones years ago because it was so deeply misogynistic and needlessly glorifying of sexual violence for titilation. But I kept up with the general plot and loved Brienne from afar (because unconventional female characters that can be both strong and soft are my JAM), and lamented that there was no way to just watch her scenes. Thennnnnnnn @heavyheadedgal found just Brienne’s scenes at the same time as season 8 was airing, and it turns out that loving Brienne and also loving stories gave me a strange combination of desire and spite.

(And Miss Fisher is still the biggest fandom of my heart. I am dying for the Crypt of Tears trailer. )

20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?

Yes and no? Jaime/Brienne sort of did, for the reasons mentioned above and also because I had to take a journey from “Ugh, Jaime is that character we’re supposed to root for despite being terrible” (which, to be fair, I feel about most GoT characterss) to “I just want Brienne to be happy, if it’s that bloody fool then *throws hands up* I GUESS!” to “Welp, here’s the trashpile, might as well set up shop. The nuance! The subversions! The complexity of the characters!” But it’s also NOT surprising, because their dynamic is so very much the ship dynamic I always fall for. I don’t think it’s a surprise that I’ve found or dragged along a fair few Miss Fisher fans here.

28. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?

Ohhhh, I have an answer to that. I’ve had (in 18 years of fandoming) had two pieces of fanart made for or inspired by my stories. @kidnthehall drew a picture of Phryne with the red fans in Grasping at Shadows, and @ronordmann recently made a banner for in the wild blue yonder, your star is fixed (in my sky). I’ll drop them below the cut, they are wonderful.

Edit–I was thinking “made as fanart” as opposed to as a collaboration, and if I expand that definition there was also (1) a collab with @letitflytoapril for Smutuary called Evocative, and (2) inzannatea drew pictures for The Very Hungry Inspector, aka the crackiest thing I’ve ever been involved in, great fun.

HOMESTUCK EPILOGUE MEAT THOUGHTS **SPOILERS**

So i want to make some things clear before i get started. I have only read the meat option. I wanted

to also read candy so I could make this with all possible information. But meat left such a bad taste

in my mouth. And after a friend of mine told me somethings about candy i just couldnt bring my

self to read more of it.

So yes i did not like the epilogue. And this is mainly just going to be talking about some of the main

reasons why i didnt like it. And if you did like it or disagree with anything i say. Thats perfectly fine

In fact im honestly happy you could like it. I really really wanted to like it but i just. Couldnt.

So what about it gave me so much issues. The first one is the style and format and feel of it. You will

notice its very different looking from homestuck. Being all text and having 2 routes to choose from.

And alot of it feels very differnt then homestuck and to be fair. Thats the point. I had to have it

explianed to me but it seems to be mostly going for the style and taking common tropes in fan

fiction. The look of it is apprently based on a fan fiction site and the meat route is meant to be the

darker fan fiction while the candy is meant to be happier one where every ship comes true. (altho

from what ive heard it seems more depressing then the darker route so i dont get how that works but

oh well) but that is the point. So it would and should make sense that it dosnt feel like homestuck

right? Well. no. Because no matter what. This is still the offical epilogue to the story. You can make

it look unoffical as much you want. You can try to explain that its both in cannon but not in cannon

but at the end of the day it dosnt matter. Its still the epilogue. It was written in part by the actual

creator. Its on the offical site. In fact if you go on the site right now. Its the very first thing you see.

With right below it homestuck. If they really wanted to drive this fan fiction thing all the way

though. Then i think it both shouldnt have been on the offical site. And hussie shouldnt have

written it. They could have made its own lil site or heck maybe even put it up on the fanfiction site

they had been mimicking. But by putting it up on the offical site it defeats the idea that this is meant

to be fanfiction.

While im on the looks of the epilogue i also got to say i was really expecting it to do more with it.

I was expecting them to do some really intersesting things with it being in this new format. For

example something many people thought including my self was that once john went back into the

cannon the formating would change back into homestucks as it normally is. That would have been

really intersting and would have helped cement that that world being not in the cannon. But. no.

That never happens. It stays in the fan fiction form though out and thats just kinda it. It felt like a

waste. Even the meta narrtive i thought was really wasted. When dirk takes over its noting that

homestuck its self hasnt done in the past. If anything its less. Like remember when doc scratch

took over in homestuck. And the whole site it self changed. That was really cool and interesting.

But here....its just changes the black text to yellow. Thats it. And now the narration is coming from

him. I couldnt help but feel really let down by it. It just seemed like....such a waste.

Ok lets talk about the characters and story and my main issues with them. Now apprently alot of

people didnt like that it was getting much darker in areas but i didnt mind. Homestuck was never

one to shy away from dark or mature subjects and now that the characters are older them dealing

with more mature things makes sense. My issue with the story is actually that its trying to be a story

when its meant to be an epilogue. An epilogue. To me at least. Should be about just the characters.

Seeing how they are doing after the events of the main story and seeing maybe new struggles after

the credits. And while there is some of that here. Its not the focus and more of the focus is one this

new story starting. John having to go fight lord english. Dirk becoming evil. Jane wanting to

become president. I couldnt get into any of it and it never gave me a reason to. This is just an

epilogue.not homestuck 2. not a spin off of any sort. Its just meant to be a short thing on what

happened after the ending. The main story is already over. And its so fruasting becuase it had stuff

in it that i loved but they dont focus on it enough. Like theres a side thing where roxy mentions

that they and calli had been talking about gender idenity and how they had came to the conclsuion

that roxy is trans and uses he him/they them pronuons. That part. Made me so happy. I thought it

was amazing that they were doing this with their character and it was really interesting. But at the

same time i couldnt help but think how much if this had more of a focus on. Like they say calli and

roxy talked about this. And i cant help but think how much i would have loved to see that  

conversation

there was also this one throw away line about how rose and her wife had been talking about

adopting. And i cant even to begin to say how much id love to read a story of just them talking

about if they should have a kid. And john discovering he has depression i thought was really good

and i wish it had more focus and had him just talking more to people about it. This epilogue left me

with just wanting so much it didnt give. Now  i will give credit the roxy being trans thing didnt

just get dropped they did have it devople as time went on and it was cool but again i just wanted

more of it. The stuff with dirk and lord english just felt. Pointless. And gave me an impression that

maybe they were afraid people wouldnt be interested in the epilogue if there wasnt some kind of

stake at risk and i cant help but wonder what it would have been like if they werent in it.

My other main issue with the story is how they did  sorten characters. Some i liked for example

where johnn,roxy,dave,karkat,rose and a few others.they were good and i felt they for the most part

showed how they had grown over the years and that this would be how they would naturally be

older. But others i couldnt get behind. For examples i didnt really care how they did jade. She really

didnt add anything and most of what she was doing was hitting on dave and karkat. It felt kinda like

a waste to have her just for that. Granted they do have her get possed but by then you dont really get

any more real interaction out of her so your mostly left with how she first shows up and its just ..

weak i think i would describe it as weak. Then theres characters like jane and dirk . Jane  now being

just stright up a jerk letrally shamming jake  to hundereds of people and dirk letrally being  super

evil and doing really really fucked up things. Im not asking for characters to be perfect angels. But

this seems just to much. To go from homestuck where they had grown alot as characters and had

bettered them selfs as people. To just going to this. Its. Its very unsatisfying.

I think i would use that word to sum up meat alot. Its very . Unsatisfying.  They mention in the

choice just before you pick meat or candy. That meat would be much harder to get though. But it

would be over all better for you and more satisfying to eat. For me. That never happened. Though  

out it all i never get that satisying feeling. I never got that (oh ok this made it worth it) it never

 never happened for me and its so fruastrating because i wanted to have that feeling so badly. I

wanted to love this but so many things about it kept making it impossible for me.

And this brings me to the final thing i want to say. Maybe my perosnal biggest issue with this and

why i cant enjoy it.

But first i want to talk about homestucks ending.  To me. Homestuck ended perfectly. One could

agrue that it could have had more problems going on but to me it was what i wanted. The characters

after years of struggles. After death,pain,saddness and so many hardships. Pulled though. They

made it to the other side. They grew as people.   They bettered them selfs. And  got a happy ending

that they desvered and worked hard to get. And with the credits giving us insight to how it was

going over there. I couldnt help but be so happy at it. When i got to it i was very emtional and i just

felt it was so right . And a great   note to end homestuck on .  

But thats no longer the case. It isnt the end now. It isnt the last thing from homestuck

This is . This is the end of homestuck. This is the last note it will go out on . The epilogue. An

epilogue that. To me. Felt so unsatisfying. And put the characterss though more shit and left things

on a sad un happy note that might not get any real conlsuion. This is it. It turned an ending that

i loved. Into a  bitter sweet momment. And you could say im being over dramatic. And i would

agree. I think i am. I want to just shut up and just  enjoy this or ignore it. But i cant. My brain wont

shut up and let it go. That this last part of homestuck. Something i love so much. Had its final

momment be this. I just feel. So .  Dissapointed by all this.

Now i want to just say some quick things here. These are just my thoughts. If you liked the epilogue

or even loved it. Im so happy for you. Honestly i mean this with all my heart. Im glad people can

and have enjoyed it. And you could also make the argument that by not reading both routes that

could be why i didnt enjoy it and maybe reading both would do so. And hey. Maybe your right. But

i cant really bring my self to do. But at the very least  i got my thoughts out. And as i am wrighting

this i am already feeling so much better  and im glad i could get my thoughts out there.

The Reason Why Waluigi isn’t in Smash Ultimate (and why people are outraged about it)

It has come to my attention that people are harassing Sakurai and the Smash Team about Waluigi not being in Smash Ultimate. It’s disgusting hearing fans harass Sakurai on his work. Stuff like this is the reason why he worked his butt off on Super Smash Bros 4 (and every other game he produced). He wants to make everyone happy and give people what he wants. I’m sorry to the disappointed Waluigi but can you be happy he’s an assist trophy and recognized in the game. King K Rool would die for an assist trophy. Please be grateful for what you are given.

Now that rant is out of the way, Why wasn’t Waluigi included as a playable character?

The answer isn’t as easy to answer as some would think. But here is what I believe are the reasons for not being included.

Waluigi is a very messy character, practically the one universal thing people know about him is that he’s Wario’s sport partner and he yells “Wah’ a lot. Waluigi is inconsistent. First of all, it’s hard to categorize Waluigi. Waluigi is random and wacky like Wario; so he should be labeled as a Wario character. But he never appeared in a Wario game so he would be a Mario character. However the reason Mario has so many characters is because each of those characters represent something important to his overall franchise. Mario represents his main 2D games; Luigi does to but Luigi can stand out with his own unique traits from Mario Games and Luigi’s Mansion to not just be a clone. Peach and Daisy represents the sports games and the wacky but important Super Mario Bros 2. Bowser represents himself as the bad guy. Bowser Jr. represents the “New” Super Mario Series, Mario Kart and Sunshine while Rosalina represents the Galaxy games. Dr. Mario represents “puzzle” and the other wackier Mario spin-offs. The only other major Mario categories not filled is Mario Party (maybe at best, at worst Mario party is just another sports game) and the RPG’s. Waluigi has only appeared in Spinoffs so he could maybe represent Mario Party BUT that in of itself is a daunting task. Peach could even fill the Mario Party Role as her Down B is random or Luigi with his Misfire having a 1/10 chance of misfiring. Waluigi can’t stand on his own with the games he appeared in alone. 

Maybe he could represent Wario except Wario represents both Wario Land and Warioware. The best scenario for Waluigi is that they announced a new Wario Land and he got to be a player 2 for the game (Why haven't they done that yet) or even just being in the  WarioWare game  that will be released in 2019 for the 3DS.

Well characters like Wii Fit, Ice Climbers, Duck Hunt, ROB, ect. all made it in with being in little videogames and no having much of a moveset. True, but these characterss are important due to economic reasons (Wii Fit sold amazingly, ROB promote the NES as a toy and thus increased sales and Duck Hunt was sold with the original Super Mario Bros, the game that saved the video game industry). These characters/games also have enough of a personality/a certain feeling to be made into a character. Waluigi is wacky but inconsistent, unlike these other characters which feel good for the smash bros cast.

So the reasons why Waluigi isn’t playable are:

- He doesn’t have a specific feel.

- His character is limited to Mario Spin-offs, making it difficult for him to be represented.

- He doesn’t have any true importance to Nintendo’s history.

So why are people so infuriated with his playable absence in this game

First of all let me point to the elephant in the room, Daisy. Daisy hasn’t been in Smash as much as Waluigi and she’s now a playable character. Unlike Waluigi, Daisy has a concrete personality but it’s shallow to be honest (She’s a tomboy, that’s about it). The fact that we got a clone of peach over a potentially unique moveset of Waluigi is salt inducing to Waluigi fans. Even if Waluigi was a clone of Wario, their proportions are different enough that there would need to be some interesting tweaks to his moveset. Daisy’s inclusion pissed off Waluigi fans.

Another important point of Waluigi is that he’s basically a meme character. His whole character can be summed up to “Wah” which means its hard for anyone to take Waluigi super seriously.

Another reason is Waluigi is severely underdeveloped. Before Luigi’s Mansion, Luigi was green Mario. Before Wario Land, Wario was Evil Mario. Waluigi never had a huge game to represent him. If someone can revolutionize Waluigi it’s Sakurai. For example, Sakurai reimagined the Kid Icarus series and gave us a dorky funny Pit who is relevant today. Imagine what Sakurai could do with the elements of Waluigi we do know. Sports, Machinery (He gets associated with machines in some of the games), Pinball, Go-Karting, Waterbending, Being a great dancer or something entirely different. Waluigi is so wacky that anything could work for him. If Sakurai could take Waluigi and give a key set of traits, it would be a huge win-win for fans. A new set personality for Waluigi and the increased potential for his own game or main series representation whether it’s Mario or Wario. Fans want Waluigi to see what Waluigi will become.

In short, Waluigi fails to be playable for smash because he doesn’t have a certain feel to him and he doesn’t represent anything super important to Nintendo. People are angry because Nintendo severely underdeveloped Waluigi and Smash is a chance for Waluigi to stand out and get his own game or at least a set personality; However, Daisy’ s inclusion only enraged fans more, enough to harass Sakurai. Moral of the story: Would our Lord and Savior Waluigi want us to harass Sakurai? Remember it’s Waluigi Time, “Not be a dickhead who harasses the creator of the game because he didn’t make my game perfectly” Time.
