Hestia watched the Elf with her big clear blue eyes and listened to both of their explanations. You can't lie to a God. It's what all the Children of Gekai knew to be true, and Hestia deemed both to be honest. Even if Bell's seemed a little muddled, solely due to his confusion, his attempts at keeping his words straight.
Lili had remained by the doorway, watching in silence. Maybe she should find the others and let them in on what was happening before they found Hogni for themselves...
"Raise your head, Hogni." His head snapped up, looking at the Goddess, then straightened his posture. "I'll grant you a Falna. You helped Bell where I couldn't...I sense no ill will in you, either. So..."
She gestured to a separate room for more privacy, but she paused to look at Bell, tears suddenly coming to her eyes. "I--I'll talk to you after, okay? I-I...miss--I'm happy you're home."
His heart was in his throat, when Hestia came running in. Anger, nerves, excitement, relief - a tidal wave of emotions that he tried very hard to keep a lid on. Knowing Hestia had remembered and said nothing to him stung but she was worlds better than staying with Lady Freya.
"Goddess Hestia..." He muttered. "P-please here us out." Greetings and reunions later. He haf to be professional right now. Distant. Her expression made it easier, though. Her seeing Hogni there. One of his kidnappers - even though it had been Ottar that had knocked him out, hadn't it? Hogni hadn't been on the 'Capture Bell' part of the... Capture Bell, mission.
...Maybe. He thought.
Maybe he had been. Bell couldn't deny that the vast majority of that day was even more of a haze than most of his other memories. He'd blame the likely head injury from Ottar's brutal strength.
"Wait, I meant-" He began, cutting off almost immediately. That hadn't been precisely what he'd meant when he said he wouldn't stay if they didn't let Hogni in (he'd more meant physically, into the manor) but Bell couldn't deny that if they did refuse to let Hogni into the Familia, it wouldn't make him very happy. Mostly because it meant they were that much less inclined to let him stay in Hearthstone. Partially because Hogni had left Freya's, and it seemed cruel to turn him away after that.
Then again, why would the others care for one of Bells kidnappers?
"Hogni's a good person." Bell added. "He's- I mean..." A moment of silence, gathering his words. "I understand why you... wouldn't want to. But, he would help me in training. Tell the others off for being too cruel in combat. Showed concern he... didn't have to. Not when Lady Freya already had me wrapped around her finger. And - and he could have made this a big trap! For me I mean, since Lady Freya, probably would have... done a lot, if she learned I'd been trying to get out. He could have done anything but instead..." Instead he'd helped him. Risking himself. His position. He reputation.

god! gojo
warnings: minors pls dni, smut in some parts, fem! reader, inspired by the anime ‘Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon?’
thank you for 1k! and here is the option that won the poll, i hope you all enjoy.
In a world where gods live among humans, they form guilds (Familias) and are able to grant ‘followers’ blessings (Falna), enabling them to gain powers beyond the average human’s capability. Each Familia is always led by a god who commands, helps their members grow stronger to build up their guilds.
With that said, being part of the Gojo Familia is extremely tough. Tough in the sense that… Nobody else wants to be part of the Familia known to have such an annoying God.
Gojo Satoru, a god born in the new age; he who precedes over Infinity, the one with the Six Eyes, the revered one throughout the Heavens and the Earth; The Honoured One. His power is absolute, his orders undisputed; yet, when he descended to the human world to live among these beings that he was meant to love—
He found it hard to do that. A little too hard… Especially for a god known to excel at anything he tried his hand at.
His riches from the heavens don’t translate to anything down here, his power restricted to only his innate abilities. Nobody wanted to revere a haughty god with no love for his subordinates despite the power that be boasted, a god that was too arrogant to accept any of his ‘beloved’ humans into his yet-to-be-set up Familia.
Even the fanatics that revered him were looked down on in disgust, the god turning his back on them and shunning what he deemed ‘repulsive, manic love’.
So he’s left without a penny to his name, shunned by the people and only the clothes on his back and his unfaltering will. He lived out his days lazing about the home of a minor deity named Masamichi Yaga, playing around within the trading Familia that specialized in the export of toys.
“Satoru.” Yaga is usually quite lenient with the younger god, usually allowed the deity to frolick around his cottage and mess with the multitude of unfinished stuffed toys within the home.
But even he knows that he was merely wasting his time here.
“You’re wasting your time here.” A click of his tongue as he gently pats down the ears of the fluffy plushie. “Find a purpose.”
“Tch! Yaga, y’er so stingy…!”
A glare from behind those telltale darkened shades shuts him up.
Yet, Gojo Satoru found no purpose. No meaning, no depth to these lowly humans. He considered them below him, considered them a nuisance. He only came down for one reason, he refuses to return until he’s learned exactly what was likable about those damned humans.
Until… He found you.
Fatally wounded and barely even able to maintain your consciousness, your breaths were unsteady and shallow, a slight breeze probably capable of killing you right then and there as you laid uselessly against the dingy brick wall.
Maybe it’s just a representation of how you’ve lived even until now.
“I guess—“ You smile, despite it all, clutching the bleeding wound in one hand and sighing. Your expression is soft, sad. A meaning to it that he never would’ve thought humans could possess even if he tried to imagine it. “I messed up… Haha…”
It’s pitiful to look down at.
“That’s it? Ya ain’t even gonna try to fight it?” He crouches down, legs bent and a hand on his cheek when he stares at you head on.
It hits a nerve, if you’re being honest. You’re trying to say your last words to probably the last being you’ll probably see in this lifetime.
“Would there be—“ A grunt of pain as your eyes squeeze shut, your sweat starting to sting against the open wound as you take a breath in. “A meaning to that?”
Huh? What? That’s not the answer he expected.
“Ya don’t value your own life, human?”
Don’t you? You’ve tried all this while. You’ve tried, you really did. Maybe it could be enough now.
“I-I think it’s enough that,” You think your vision is starting to blur as you try to smile. “That… I won’t die alone.” For a god who was known to lack love; he was certainly the kindest you have met, to be able to have the honour to know.
“Thank you.”
You heard that he was terrifying, that he would glare down at lesser beings with scorn and nauseating ego— And yet, here he was.
Looking you right in the eye in your final moments as he scrunches his nose, simply just watching as you try to fight the fading consciousness enough to hear the last bits of this life.
You can see him ponder, something unreadable flashing through those gleaming blue that practically glittered with the universe’s stars that begged you to count every single last one of them as you finally decide to give yourself peace, to let yourself—
“Tell you what,” A sparkle of blue and a flutter of icy white as the wind starts to pick up, a breeze so nostalgic that it makes your heart clamor and your hands tighten. It felt like a caress of summer against your cold face, an off feeling of wanting to look at the blue sky once more despite your wish to disappear.
“I’ll give ya a once in a lifetime chance.” The wind felt like it was chasing after you, stroking your cheek with the softness akin to dried-out clouds and sunlight that kissed you so softly.
Maybe you didn’t truly want to go.
“Join my Familia.”
——
“Satoru-sama, please wake up.” You’re trying to shake him awake, trapped in his embrace as he snores into your chest, his toned arm wrapped tightly around your midsection as you only hear a whine in return.
“Noooo…! You can’t go to the dungeons…” A spot of drool lolls onto your skin, his words muffled from pressing his face against your upper body, where he had ridden the fabric up to ensure that he had direct access to the softness of your body.
“S’ dangerous…”
You sigh.
“But Satoru-sama,” You start stroking his hair as you hear another whine, taking it as an opportunity to poke at one of his cheeks. “If we don’t go, we can’t pay rent here.”
Silence, followed by the feel of his fingers sneaking up your sides to grope at you. For someone who was meant to be a revered god, he certainly acts like a spoiled child in the mornings.
“Hmph… Make someone else go so you can stay here with me…”
“There are no other members in your Familia, Satoru-sama.”
Two months. That’s how long you’ve been bound to your Gojo Satoru, the glyph on your back evidence of his mark as you smile down at the half-awake deity.
Well, it’s not like you mind.
“Only ten minutes more, okay?”
Gojo Satoru was a selfish god. He indulged in whatever he felt like, acted upon every whim he had and never hesitated to say what was on his mind.
Yet, he was benevolent. Only to you, that is.
“Huh? Don’t ya want a reward for all the work you’ve done?” A raised brow as he stuffs another spoonful of stew into your mouth,
“I don’t think,” You chew, swallowing the creamy soup down before speaking once more, your hand reaching up in attempt to wipe at the remnant of liquid at the corner of your lip. “I have anything I particularly want, Satoru-sama.”
“Ahhh- You humans are so picky.” He’s back to poking at your stuffed cheek, making it a point to prod at your skin and trying to get a rise out of you as you succumb to his whims.
“Satoru-sama, being with you is enough payment for me.”
“Haaah… Can’t even decide anything for yourself can ya—“
He stops all of a sudden, your words striking a chord within him as he suddenly perks up, his chair screeching back from his sudden movement.
“Hoho. I think I got something you’d like.”
It started small. Hugs goodbye whenever you had to go pick up more ingredients for dinner, contrived pecks to your hand whenever you reached out towards him— Until physical contact became the norm in the humble little Familia that you both created.
You feel lucky that he indulges you so much.
“Say,” His cheek rests upon your head as he takes another inhale of your scent, his nose brushing against the sensitive nape of your neck from behind as you attempt to make dinner. “You love me, don’t you?”
“Of course, Satoru-sama.” A pat to the arm wrapped tight around your waist as the potato peeler sits still on the countertop. “I love you.”
It’s not just for show. Of course you love him. More than you could ever love anything else. Your god, your saviour, the only person who believed in you when you had given up on yourself.
You’d never pick anyone, anything over him. Even if he was stubborn, haughty, egotistic, provocative and possibly even exasperating at times; he was kind. He cared, he loved, he worried, he was simply him.
Your beloved Satoru. God or not, there was no other being like him.
There’s silence, the sound of his heart beat against your ear from his sheer height and tight hold. You feel his hand slowly trail over the skin of your midriff, making its way downwards to fiddle with the hem of the largely oversized tunic of clothing you donned as his eyes close.
“Would you be willing to do anything I say?”
You should hesitate when it comes to these types of questions. Should prepare to think it over if it were anybody but the one who granted you more than a Falna. He granted you a home, a place where you belonged.
He gave you peace. So there wasn’t any reason for you to deny him.
“Anything for you, Satoru-sama.”
Yet, even when he was inbetween your thighs, your legs carelessly thrown over his shoulders as your hands so thoughtlessly gripping at the bedsheets in fear of doing harm to your God— You could feel that he just wasn’t there with you.
“Saa— Sator-ru-sama… Hah…” Your trembling thighs squeeze harder around his head, hands practically losing their colour from how hard you had to grip on just to gain back enough to even speak.
“Shh…” He’s finally pulled his insistent tongue off of your clit, licking his lips of the essence dripping from his mouth as he smirks up at you, before he let his tongue lick up the length of your thigh.
“Ya feel good, don’t you? Just sit pretty and let me eat your sweet cunt out.”
And when you both were so intimately connected, his fingers so lovingly entwined with your own, your lips sharing; indulging in the taste of each other, experiencing the same blinding pleasure as he allows your head to tilt back, his chuckle and a kiss to your cheek as your eyes are blanked out—
He just seemed so far away.
Don’t get yourself wrong, don’t let yourself be tricked. There was adoration in his every caress, every brush of his lips against your skin and every tender, sweetened coo that slipped out of his mouth and into your ears.
“See? Told ya you can give me one more.”
“Hmm? Can’t hear you at all, honey~ Don’t babble your words.”
“My adorable little follower…” He pauses to press another chaste, sweaty kiss to your lips as your ankles press against his lower back, your arms wrapped tight around his neck as your eyes seep more tears from this overwhelming pleasure.
It felt hot, scalding even— Was celestial being semen meant to feel like this inside of you?
“Sa-Sator-Satoru…!”
“Oho— Hngh…” You can feel his cock spasm inside of you, twitching against that little, specific spot as your vision practically dot with searing white. “Forgetting— Your honourifics, huh?”
“But don’t— Hah— worry,” His playful fingers pinch at your nipples, head leaning down to kiss at the bitten, marred skin once more before those beautiful blue eyes peek up at you. “I’ll forgive my cute little devotee for anything…”
You think you’ve finally regained conscious when you awaken on top of a sturdy chest, your god’s hand tenderly stroking the back of your head, both of your legs tangled together as the sheets of your shared bed swirl with the fragrance of freshly aired out, perfectly dried and washed sheets.
You could ask how he managed to change them, how he managed to wash the both of you of sweat, how he managed to make the pot boil with the savoury scent of stew at the fireplace—
Yet, the first question that pervades you was none of that.
“Satoru-sama.” You can feel the way your naked chest was pressed against his, those blue eyes closed, hidden behind white-lashed eyelids as he continued to pet your head as one arm was settled behind him to act as a pillow.
“What were you thinking about?”
You know he knows exactly what you’re speaking of.
“Nothing much, sweetheart.” A playful pinch of your cheek as you feel the beginnings of a pout start to show on your face. “But starting to get curious about me, huh?”
“I— Wish to know, Satoru-sama.” You watch as one iridescent iris peeks out slightly from behind a closed eye, that mischievous smirk on his pretty face so infuriatingly cute.
“Do you now?”
“Please don’t tease me too much, Satoru-sama…”
A loud laugh that allowed your hands to feel how his chest vibrated beneath you, let your eyes watch how his face curved into that rich smile and gorgeous carelessness that you wanted to admire for hours on end.
Yet, you can’t help but sense the bitter, sour sweetness in his voice.
“A long time ago,” He pauses to brush a strand of hair out of your eyes as his own eyelids start to blink open. “I had a best friend.”
You hear him take in a breath, eyes shifting up towards the ceiling before they flickered back down to your curious gaze. “He was my one and only.”
You stay silent at that revelation.
“He loved you humans, you know?” You’re shifting your naked self up, adjusting the blanket that covered the both of you as his hand pulls your head forwards so that it was resting upon his chest. “It was weird to hear him talk about you all so much.”
You can see how lovingly your Satoru-sama spoke of him, how his tone dropped to such an earnest, yearning want. It felt like flowers that were fluttering in the summer wind, scattered and quiet; but so gentle and frail.
It makes you afraid of what you were about to ask.
“What happened to the both of you, Satoru-sama?”
It’s tense. Your body, pressed so vulnerably against his with your head against his chest… Could pick up on the way his heart rate picking up.
“I killed him with my own two hands.”

|| Freya, Defected
It took a lot of convincing to Lady Freya. Countless hours spent and with him shamefully resorting to getting on his knees to beg her to let him go, to undo the Falna he had on his back. Hedin felt relief when Freya decided to do what he requested, albeit with hesitancy. He knew it would be a struggle for her to let go of one of her own children and also a struggle for Hedin to work through leaving himself. He was one of the strongest in the Familia and for him to leave right after Hogni was a huge blow to Freya and likely, her ego. Hedin needed to leave. There was a reason for this, a big one.
His mate, Hogni.
The bond he has with Hogni overpowered the devotion he had for Freya which led him to today. It didn't take long to find out his partner had left without telling him, but it took nearly the rest of the day to persuade Freya to release him, allow him to leave the Familia. It was the longest moments of his life. Whether or not it was worth it was to be determined. That would be sorted at a later date. He went to find his mate after he packed as much as he could carry. He was aware of the fact he went to the Hestia Familia. That was his sole destination.
The way to Hestia's home was easy and he did receive multiple stares from other adventurers, some even getting out of his way to allow him to pass. His influence from being in Freya's Familia still loomed over him. It would be a while before that aura dissipates.
His emotions were all over the place, but the most obvious one he felt was anger and…grief. He was angry his partner left without him and he grieved over the prospect of Hogni attempting to break his bond with him. It translated into his demeanor which made those around him keep their distance. He didn't pay any attention to them.
He found his mate soon after arriving at the Hestia home, with Bell and the prum girl. He walked up just as his mate admitted to the prum that he didn't possess a Falna either. It was clear his arrival was unexpected from everyone, including his mate. Hedin spoke up and admitted he was in the same position as Hogni, his eyes meeting for a split second with the dark elf's before he averted them. He bowed with Hogni, his body closer to his as he leaned in. A whisper in his partner's ear telling him they will talk privately later. He knew Hogni could pick up his anger in the tone of his voice.
That would be pushed back for now. He hoped Lady Hestia would accept both him and Hogni. They would have to be accepted as a pair. He already had a case prepared in case either Bell or Hogni didn't.

(( More StainedSoul verse thoughts (since it seems it's becoming my main lmao)
under the cut just for the purposes of keeping the post short on dash.
He's ashamed of missing Freya, and probably either avoids answering questions about the topic (if he'd go back, if he likes her, misses her, etc) or dances around them with answers that don't quite fit the question Ex; if asked if he would ever go back, responds with how he'd rather stay with Hestia Familia
He remembers Ryu only as Concepts, right now. Green and Thorns and Wind. He has no name or face to pin to her. He'll probably have to ask who she is if he doesn't see her eventually. It will make him feel ashamed of himself.
He probably doesn't entirely remember Aisha either. He'll likely remember her when he sees her, or at least start to, but 'Amazon' just makes him think of toads, so he. doesn't think about them much. He'll def have to ask her name. And yes, he'll feel like shit about this too.
He does not remember losing an arm. By extension; He doesn't remember the juggernaut (it's probably suppressed tbh, I'd take every chance to forget that thing too if I was his age) OR the Deep Floors.
He doesn't remember exactly why Welf hates magic swords, or if he still feels that way. (he could probably guess though it's not hard given Welf's a smith)
Because it seems to have originated from the Hestia Knife, Bell doesn't remember Argo Vesta.
He'll probably get thorny if people accuse Hogni of brainwashing or otherwise manipulating him. Especially if it's Hestia that does it, much as it'll sting him to be bitey at his goddess.
On that note; Despite knowing he can trust the Hestia Familia, and knowing that yes, that IS his real Familia, he probably still feels safer sleeping near Hogni than anyone else, just due to his knowledge of the man being more clear and solid than his memories of anyone else rn (to say nothing of the active kindness Hogni gave him his whole time in Freya Familia)
The first time Hestia updates his status, he'll be tense as fuck. Maybe even shivering with the amount of nerves he has, and probably demand to see the Falna afterwards.
He will absolutely NOT feel comfortable commanding ANYONE for a while. He doesn't remember fighting alongside them enough to feel safe doing that - fighting in a team OR telling them what to do. Frankly if he's put in that position before he feels ready for it he'll probably just defer to Hedin immediately.
Speaking of fighting - despite knowing cooperation makes you WAY more effective and powerful in battle, he'll probably slip up in battle CONSTANTLY and start fighting as a single unit the way Freya Familia does until otherwise corrected by somebody else, or the battle actively finishes.

danmachi (re; Bell) ideas I'm holding onto and doing nothing with
Bell becoming Very Curious about smithing/forging. You just! Take a Rock or a Monster Drop and! Make it! Into a WEAPON!!! Or ARMOR!!! That's so cool! How does it work!! He wants to do that!!!
Hestia Familia gets to keep Wiene with them and Everyone Is Mad About It
Bell gets turned into a Monster or Part Monster and EVERYONE has to deal with the fallout. Maybe when the mermaid heals him. That's the perfect place for some genetic fuckery to occur.
Bell is secretly divine and noone realizes until AFTER he gets his falna. Bell is clueless the entire time and doesn't understand why everyone keeps Looking At Him Like That.
Bell joins literally any other Familia. Notcombat Familia Bell in particular would be interesting to play with.

Chapter 19
Reporting our ranking up
Once we were back home. Hestia checked Rosni's falna. With the Minotaurs she had fought, she ranked up to level two with the rest of us.
The fun part was the next day. Everyone on my Team went to the Guild Hall to report our ranking up to level two.
Eina handed me a letter from the Guild before we could tell her about our ranking up. I stepped to the side to read the letter. The Guild had already found out what had happened on the eighteenth floor of the Dungeon and was telling everyone involved what the Guild wanted the story to be. The Guild's story was, there was no appearance of the floor boss, the Black Goliath. It was just an anomaly, and no one was to talk about what had really happened.
We returned to the counter. "Eina, how are you today?" I asked.
Eina Tulle, Guild Worker
"I'm doing well. How are you Eilwyn?" Eina replied.
I smiled. "I'm doing really good. I ranked up two days ago. I'm level two now." I told Eina.
Eina had a shocked expression on her face. "That fast!? You ranked up almost as fast as Bell Cranel!" She exclaimed.
I chuckled. "I hope I don't take the spotlight from Bell." I said jokingly. "We are in the same Familia after all."
"Oh, yes, you're both in the Hestia Familia." Eina acknowledged.
I motioned for Iris to come forward. Iris walked up to the counter. "Hi Eina. I ranked up as well. I'm level two, also." Iris told Eina.
"YOU TOO!?" Eina yelled. "Sorry, sorry!" Eina apologized. "I shouldn't have yelled like that. But you leveled up as well!?" Eina asked surprised.
Grinning from ear to ear. "Yes. I'm a level two adventurer now." Iris said proudly.
I leaned in a little. "It gets worse." I told Eina and pointed to Kimmy, then I called out. "Next!"
Kimmy walked up to the counter as Iris stepped aside to make room. "I ranked up as well." Kimmy told Eina.
Eina's eyes were as large as dinner plates by this time. Before she could say anything, I pointed at Cindy.
Cindy walked up to the counter and nodded her head yes, as if Eina had asked her a question. "I ranked up to level two also." Cindy said and stepped out of the way for Rosni.
Rosni meekly walked up to the counter and raised her hand as if trying to get permission to speak. "I'm level two as well." Rosni told Eina.
By this time, I wasn't sure if Eina believed us or if she was going to pass out from the shock of all of us ranking up at the same time.
Eina was leaning on the counter with her head buried in her arms. She was shaking her head from side to side, or more like rolling her head from side to side since her forehead was on the counter. Eina was talking but we couldn't understand what she was saying.
Misha walked over to Eina to see what was wrong with her friend.
"Eina? Are you alright? What's wrong?" Misha asked, worried about her friend, Eina.
"I think she's okay. She's just in shock about what we told her." I explained to Misha.
"What did you tell Eina that would shock her like this?" Misha asked me with concern for her friend, Eina, on her face.
Eina raised her head off the counter and looked at Misha. "All five of them ranked up to level two at the same time, and they've all only been adventurers for little over five weeks." She told Misha.
I leaned in fairly close to Eina and Misha. "I killed three Minotaur's in a group all by myself so I could rank up." It told them.
Eina's and Misha's faces were masks of shock, surprise and awe. I almost laughed, but I held it in. I didn't think it would be a good idea to laugh at that moment. "I think we should leave before we put them in hospital." I told my Team, and we all headed out of the Guild Hall to go back home. We were planning on celebrating at The Benevolent Mistress later that evening.
Before we left the Guild Hall we cashed in our magic stones and drop items. After dividing the money between the five of us. We each received 111,060 valis. After giving the Familia 11,106 valis from each of us, we were left with 99,954 valis each. Not bad for a rescue mission.
Even though we had ranked up to level two, we planned to keep working the way we had been. That being, we would spend forty-eight hours in the Dungeon, twenty-four hours off, then forty-eight hours in the dungeon again then forty-eight hours off. After four to six weeks Cindy, Kimmy, Iris and I will fight the Goliath on the seventeenth floor to rank up to Level three. Making us four members of Team STRIG Level three adventurers. At least that was the plan. Although with Rosni being our Supporter, she might rank up slower than the rest of us. But I wanted to try to get her up to level three by the time the Hestia Familia has to go on its first official Mission to the twenty fifth floor. But I'm getting ahead of myself because that's a little ways down the road. But then you know, "The best laid plans of mice and men."
= = = = =
Celebrating my Team's ranking up
As planned for that evening our whole Team, Rosni, Kimmy, Iris, Cindy and I, headed to the Benevolent Mistress to celebrate all of us ranking up to level two.
Everyone was in high spirits because of our raking up. We all were talking enthusiastically about our being Level two adventures now.
Once we arrived at the Benevolent Mistress, Chloe walked up to us as we entered. "Party of five." She called and led us to our table.
I waved at Mia. "Hi Mamma Mia, we're celebrating. We all ranked up to level two." I called out to Mia.
Mama Mia
Mia looked surprised. "You all leveled up at the same time!?" She asked me with shock on her face.
"Didn't they rank up in little over five weeks?" "Yah, and all five of them ranked up at the same time."
We could hear some of the other costumers talking about us because our ranking up had been posted on the Guild's bulletin board.
Grinning I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, we all ranked up. Not quite at the same time but we all ranked up within two days of each other." I replied.
Mia shook her head in disbelief. "Didn't Bell Cranel level up just a week or two back?" Mia asked.
"They belong to the Hestia Familia. That's the same Familia that rabbit guy that ranked up in six weeks, is in." "How are they doin it? Levelin up that fast?"
I nodded my head in agreement as I walked over to the counter Mia was standing behind. "Yah, he did. Although my Team spends a lot of time in the dungeon. Then we went on the rescue mission after Bell, Welf and Lili. While we were headed to the eighteenth floor my Team fought a few Minotaur. That helped a lot." I told Mia. I didn't mention that each member of our Team fought the Minotaurs by themselves.
"What's with the Hestia Familia that their members can rank up so fast?"
Still shocked but not wanting to miss out on making money. "Well, it sounds like a good reason to celebrate. Eat up!" She said with a smile on her face.
Chloe seated us and took our drink orders. As Chloe walked away to get our drinks, Ryu and Anya walked over to our table.
"May we sit with you?" Ryu asked.
Ryu Leon
I chuckled then stood up. "Please do." I told them and took my seat again after they sat down. "Let me guess. Mamma Mia told you; you could sit with us hoping we'd spend more money." I said.
"Yes, she did. Meow." Anya replied and giggled.
Anya
"Yes, lord Eilwyn. Mamma Mia told us, we could sit with you because you were celebrating that all of you ranked up to level two. Is that true?" Ryu inquired.
"I guess it's a good thing that we're friends with Bell 'and' that Mama Mia wants to make more money." I said and laughed.
Then answering Ryu's question, I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, we did. Cindy, Iris, Kimmy, Rosni and I ranked up right after we got back." I told Ryu and Anya. "At least Mia let the cutest girls sit with us." I added.
"Thank you, lord Eilwyn." Ryu replied, her cheeks turning pink.
"You think meow'm cute?" Anya asked.
I smiled at Anya. "Yes, you're very cute." I assured her.
Anya was all smiles.
Chloe arrived with our drinks and handed them around. "Ryu, Anya go ahead and order anything you want." I offered.
"He says that to all of us girls. That we're cute, not for us to order anything we want." Cindy told Ryu and Anya, then she giggled.
"Only because it's the truth." I replied.
"It sounds like we're the talk of the tavern." Iris said hearing some of the people close to us talking about our ranking up so fast.
"With you ranking up so fast and five of you Ranking up at the same time. Everyone will be talking about you." Ryu replied.
Ryu and Anya gave Chloe their orders then my Team give Chloe our food order.
Once Ryu and Anya's drinks arrived. I raised my tankard. "To Team STRIG!" I toasted my Team.
"I wonder if I joined the Hestia Familia if I'd rank up that fast?" "Their god probably knows how to pick adventurers that will rank up fast. So that leaves you out." "Hey!"
Everyone at the table raised their tankard into the air. "To Team STRIG (Starling)!" Everyone said, clinked their tankard's together, took a drink and sat their tankards down.
"So, lord Eilwyn, since your Team has already been to the eighteenth floor. What are your plans to do now?" Ryu asked, her usual stoic self.
I looked at the girls then back to Ryu. "I figured we'd do like we have been doing. We go into the Dungeon for two days. The first day we hit one floor and the second day we go to the next floor down. We were on the eleventh floor before we went to rescue Bell and company." I told Ryu.
Ryu looked thoughtful before she said anything. "So, you spend eight hours on one floor then the next day you go to the next floor down and spend only eight hours there?"
"No," I said shaking my head from side to side. "We spend twenty-four hours on one floor then we go to the next floor down and spend twenty-four hours there." I told her.
"You spend twenty-four hours in the dungeon at one time? Wouldn't it be easier and safer if you didn't camp out in the dungeon?" Ryu asked me.
"We don't camp out. When we go into the dungeon, we spend the first twenty-four hours fighting monsters on one floor. Then we spend the next twenty-four hours fighting monsters on the next floor down. We don't stop to sleep" I explained.
"You meowst be busy down there." Anya said.
"How are you able to fight monsters for forty-eight hours straight?" Ryu asked with a confused expression on her face.
I looked at Anya. "Yes, we keep busy in the dungeon. That's why we were able to rank up so fast." I told her.
I turned back to Ryu. "We can stay down in the dungeon that long because of our… Companions." I reminded Ryu. I had already given Ryu a Companion so she should know most of what they can do and what the partner can do because of their Companion.
Ryu's eyes lit up. "Yes, I remember that, now." Ryu blushed slightly. "I don't think about being able to do some of the things I can do, or I don't need to do, because of Melita. Yes, I can see how you can stay in the dungeon that long without having to camp out. Very clever, lord Eilwyn, very clever." Ryu told me.
I took Ryu's last statement as a high complement, and smiled at Ryu.
"Come on! Let's sing the song you filked." Iris demanded.
"Ha ha ha ha. You want us to get kicked out don't you." I said jokingly.
"Mia won't kick us out. It's about her anyway." Iris added.
Anya looked at me with a look of curiosity on her face. "You wrote a song about Meowama Mia?" Anya asked me.
"Kind of. I took a song I already knew and changed the words a little bit." I told Anya.
"Okay if I'm going to sing the 'Mamma Mia' song, then y'all have to help me sing it." I told my Team.
"The song's title is 'Mamma Mia'? Ryu asked.
I chuckled. "That was the name before I changed the words. That's why I picked this song in the first place, because of the title, 'Mamma Mia'." I told Ryu.
I reached under the table and created a guitar and pulled it out from under the table. I also created several copies of the song and handed them to my Team, and I even handed Anya and Ryu a copy of the song. I strummed the guitar a couple times to make sure it was in tune and made a couple of adjustments.
As I started playing the first refrain. "Remember y'all have to sing it with me." I reminded my Team.
I nodded my head and we all started singing.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
(Sung to, Mamma Mia)
I've been Fed by you since I don't know when So I made up my mind, it must come to an end Look at me now, will I ever learn I don't know how, but I suddenly lose control There's a hunger within my soul
(Just one look) and I can hear a bell ring (One more look) and I forget everything, whoa
Mamma Mia, here I go again My, my, how can I resist you're food? Mamma Mia, does it show again My, my, just how much I've missed you're food?
Yes, I've been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma Mia, now I really know My, my, I could never let you go
I've been happy and sad about that food you do I can't count all the times that I've told you we're through And when I go, when I slam the door I think you know that I won't be away too long You know that I'm not that strong
(Just one look) and I can hear a bell ring (One more look) and I forget everything, whoa
Mamma Mia, here I go again My, my, how can I resist your food? Mamma Mia, does it show again My, my, just how much I've missed you?
Yes, I've been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma Mia, even if I say Bye-bye, leave me now or never Mamma Mia, it's a game we play Bye-bye doesn't mean forever
Mamma Mia, here I go again My, my, how can I resist your food? Mamma Mia, does it show again My, my, just how much I've missed you?
Yes, I've been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go? Mamma Mia, now I really know My, my, I could never let you go
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
As we finished the song I started clapping and laughing. Iris, Cindy, Kimmy and Rosni followed my lead and clapped as well. Iris was giggling. Some of the other patrons clapped and some laughed along with us.
Mia yelled at us over the counter. "That will be enough of that!" But she had a grin on her face as well and it looked like she was blushing. That would be a first, seeing Mamma Mia blushing.
Anya giggled and even Ryu had a slight smile on her face.
"Why did you write that song?" Ryu asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I like the Benevolent Mistress, Mia and all the waitresses." I said and smiled at Anya and Ryu. Then I continued. "So, I decided to change the words to the song 'Mamma Mia' to honor Mia, all the waitresses and the tavern. Besides it was something fun to do." I told Ryu.
"That is interesting. Although I am still not sure I understand your reasoning." Ryu told me.
"That's okay, Ryu. You don't have to understand why I did it. You should just enjoy the song." I replied.
Ryu nodded her head in understanding.
"I understand we just missed the Denatus. That means we won't get our aliases for at least three more months." I said off handedly and to change the subject.
"Yes, the Denatus is held every three months, so you'll have to wait." Ryu confirmed what I had said.
I leaned in and lowered my voice. "Although the naming is really a joke the 'gods' play on the adventurers. To the 'gods' the big, long fancy names they give adventurers is meant to be an insult or a joke, not a complement. Now some of them are good like Kenki for Ais and even 'Little Rooky' they don't consider too bad. And even your alias the 'gods' considered good and not a joke. But most of them are just mean jokes to most of them. A lot of it is just to give them something to do." I informed Ryu and Anya.
Ryu gave me a stunned look. "The aliases the gods give because they are making fun of the adventurers that rank up?" She asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "That's about it, but like I said they do give out some good aliases, but not many." I corrected Ryu. "The bigger and more powerful the Familia is the more likely the adventurer will get a good name." I added.
"Are you concerned you and your friends will get joke aliases?" Ryu asked me.
I chuckled and shook my head, no. "Not a bit. I can give people Companions, and I can do a lot of other things, so I can make sure we get good aliases." I told Ryu.
Ryu looked at me like she wasn't sure how to take what I had said. "I'm not sure if that is good or if I should worry about what you can do." She told me.
"It's always good to be concerned if someone or a group of people can do things no one else can do. It doesn't necessarily mean they are bad people or will do bad things. It just means they can do what has never been done before. It also doesn't hurt to keep track of some of the things they do." I told Ryu. "Maybe that's something you could do." I added with a grin and a wink at Ryu.
Ryu cleared her throat but didn't say anything more about it.
We partied and celebrated on into the evening. We all had a good and fun time.

A few details of Hogni's new side verse.
In the same setting and a shared verse with fracturedodr(maybe whiteknighthedin if she wants in??) where both of them realize the way Freya Familia operates isn't...................the best. The constant hyper-dependence/obsession isn't healthy AT ALL.
Leaves with Bell, who returns to Hestia Familia. For Bell, living in Hearthstone Manor isn't the same as it was before. It won't be anymore. It might never be.
Hogni receives Hestia's Falna and becomes the strongest member of her Familia--yet is met with constant questions/jabs/judgement from the other members(except maybe Haruhime), so he hides away in the bedroom they gave him for a minimum of a month.
Is constantly questioning/rethinking his decision to leave in that month.
Suffers mental breaks occasionally, tries his best to suffer them in private, away from prying and judgmental eyes.
Only lets Bell into his room(and extremely rarely, Hestia)--depending on whiteknighthedin...him too. They might share a room lmao.
If Hedin isn't a part of it, this verse will have them broken up and no longer dating, and assume Hedin's loyalty to Freya was too strong.
