Alright, so I’ve been working on this for a while. Pizza tower got me all inspired so I went ahead and sat down and made a very large selection of Magic the Gathering cards for it. I did my best to make sure that the cards had well representative effects and such and are kinda balanced, but I have not tested any of them. You are more than welcome to try them out with your playgroup if you wish, and feel free to let me know how they turn out. :)
For those confused with how Pizzaface/Pizzahead works, they are two sides of a transforming double face card, Pizzaface is the front and Pizzahead the back.
As well, tokens for all these cards are under the cut and I used a local version of CardConjurer. I followed this tutorial to set it up. If you want to get the cards with 1/8th in bleed and the cardconjurer file you can get them here.
I did not make any of the card art by myself, and I sourced it from other artists. Artist’s names are in the artist description of each card and links to each of their pages are bellow. Direct links to the art used are hyperlinked in the name of the card bellow, and other links to the artist are after that.

Ancient Roman coins thought to be fakes now authenticated
A new analysis of several Roman coins unearthed in 1713—long thought to be forgeries—suggests that they are authentic, providing evidence that the leader portrayed on one of the coins was indeed in power during the 260s CE. Paul Pearson of University College London, U.K., and colleagues present these findings in PLOS ONE.
For much of ancient Roman history, Roman mints produced coins featuring portraits of current emperors. In 1713, a group of such coins was allegedly discovered in Transylvania, some of them featuring a portrait labeled with the name "Sponsian," although there are no other historical records that a Roman emperor named Sponsian ever existed.
While the Transylvanian coins follow the general style of mid-third century Roman coins, they diverge in certain stylistic characteristics and in how they were manufactured, leading many experts to dismiss them as forgeries created to sell to collectors. However, the coins are also uncharacteristic of the forgeries that would have been of interest to past collectors. Additionally, in 1713, "Sponsian" was not yet known to be a name that had ever existed in ancient Rome.
To further investigate the Transylvanian coins' authenticity, Pearson and colleagues conducted a deeper assessment of the physical characteristics of four of the coins, including the Sponsian coin. They applied visible light microscopy, ultra-violet imaging, scanning electron microscopy, and reflection mode Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy to the four coins and, for comparison, two undoubtedly authentic Roman gold coins.
The analysis revealed deep micro-abrasion patterns typically associated with coins that were in circulation for an extensive period of time. The researchers also analyzed earthen deposits on the coins, finding evidence that after extensive circulation, the coins were buried for a prolonged period before being exhumed. Together, the new evidence strongly suggests the coins are authentic.
Considering the historical record alongside the new evidence from the coins, the researchers suggest that Sponsian was an army commander in the Roman Province of Dacia during a period of military strife in the 260s CE.
Lead author of the paper, Paul N. Pearson of University College, London, adds, "Scientific analysis of these ultra-rare coins rescues the emperor Sponsian from obscurity. Our evidence suggests he ruled Roman Dacia, an isolated gold mining outpost, at a time when the empire was beset by civil wars and the borderlands were overrun by plundering invaders."
Curator of Numismatics at The Hunterian, Jesper Ericsson, adds, "This has been a really exciting project for The Hunterian. Not only do we hope that this encourages further debate about Sponsian as a historical figure, but also the investigation of coins relating to him held in other museums across Europe."

Exoarcheology
I don't like what we are.
What now? We're in a middle of a job, kiddo! This planet peoples count on us to create a coherent archeological background sturdy enough for their furture generation to discover and build their identity upon, we can't mess this up!
No I mean, what we're called : exoarcheologists. It don't make sens, all we do is planting fake artifacts. Etymologicaly speaking, the name don't fit, we're the opposite.
…You have a point. Telle you what? Tell John from PR. With enough feedback, maybe we'll rebrand. It's not like we have many competitors.
Will do when we'll back to the ship.
Great. Now bring me the body of Homeoputsis IV.
/* Pencil doodle on A6 sketchbook - Porte-mine sur carnet A6 */
Je n'aime pas ce qu'on est.
Non, sérieux ? On bosse, là gamin !
…Tu as raison. Tu sais quoi ? Parles-en avec John de la com. Plus on lui fera de retour, plus il est possible qu'on se renomme. Après tout, c'est pas comme si on avait des concurrents.
Ah merci, je ferai ça dès qu'on sera de retour au vaisseau.
Impec. Maintenant apporte-moi le corps d'Homeoputsis IV.

So for my game tonight- Theodore's unconscious right now, but as soon as he wakes up... Imagine this, because this is what the session's opening will be like for him:
You're ripped out of whatever dream-state you were in (was it a nice dream? did you forget everything you've gone through while you were sleeping?). You're on the floor.
You realize your body Hurts. Your nose is broken.
Maybe you'll vaguely realize where you are, or maybe you'll try to remember what happened-
But you're going to get decked with a baseball bat, held by your former friend/party member, who most likely has the intent to kill you. He's knows it's you.
Panic- fight back? Do you fight out of instinct or because you remember what you've caused and decided this is a viable act of karma, so you fight to get him to hit you more?
If you haven't by now, realize the consequences of your actions: Your mentor, who kept you from dropping out and had hope for you, both for the changeling and human world, is gone- possessed- and it's your fault. Your former friend's boyfriend is also gone, you tried to kill another party member's friend (and the party in general), and you've practically kickstarted a war while you were possessed by the BBEG. Your party already lost some trust in you earlier before- all trust is obliterated because of this.
Do you have anything left?
#ended up writing a whole essay in the tags again#im so normal about how horrible his life has become#he just wanted to have some escapism but got caught up into a resistance#and his quest for investigation and escapism lead to intense trauma but he couldnt just Leave#he has to stay and help save the world now#so he's plagued with nightmares and the escapism has become worse that what he originally tried to escape from#but he keeps going#because while both options are Bad at least there's fantasy and wonder here- he cant leave#and so he's offered power by the bbeg and fights against it#but he steals its artifact and tells himself its for research#and then he gets offered power by a villain and declines- he doesnt want that he just wants knowledge#he wants things to think about to distract himself from everything from the fact he's a college failure & from everything he's been through#and then the artifact offers him an escape with the possibility to change things- the Power to do that and make things better for himself#and to maybe release some of the anger buried in his heart#and theodore knows its fake. he Knows.#but he fails to resist just for a moment and now he's lost everything#and what does he have left?#he was failing college anyway and now there's no one in the changeling realm to help him. he's the cause of his own ruin#and so he's going to spiral.#his rage at himself with be extended outwards until he finally and completely destroys himself#theodore absolutely deserves consequences for what he's done#but that doesnt deny the fact i view him as a tragic character#(though i do worry if he comes across as too pathetic and/or whiny at times)#the discovery of the supernatural world made his life worse not only bc of outside factors but also bc of his own actions#Theodore was made to be a tragic character- he was never meant to have a happy ending- and by god is that happening#eric finally speaks#ttrpg oc#theodore carter#rainbow in the dark#ttrpg character

i think the canonical reason ryou has the ring is because his dad bought it at a shady stall in egypt. which is a classic origin story for cursed artifacts but like. the millenium items are solid gold. no graverobber worth their salt is going to sell it to some random englishman for a fraction of its value.
so, here's my theory for why that happened: the items are equal parts gold, liquefied flesh, condensed dark magic, and trapped souls. i like to think the last 3 have some effect on the physical properties of the metal.
like, for example, fucking up the density. or preventing it from tarnishing. or, just generally, being a lot more indestructible than gold generally is (gold is, notably, a very soft metal)
basically i like to think that whoever found it went "oh this thing is super fake, bet I can find a gullible tourist though!"
#i like the idea of extremely extremely valuable and rare artifacts being mistaken for something ultimately worthless#would bakura be impressed by the salesman successfully convincing ryou's dad into buying something he believes is fake#or would he be pissed at someone having the audacity to claim the ring that houses his soul is mere fools gold#who can say!!#either way he's ryou's problem now!!#yugioh

headcanon; man maybe someday I'll be able to write a worldbuilding headcanon that isn't the length of a short novel. So anyway, supplement to the previous headcanon, some artifacts that are on display in the museum portion of the league! Historic Costume Recreations from a few major eras of Unova's history, based off of both surviving clothing and historical artwork. A few items were added to this collection recently, as the league hosted a charity solstice masquerade ball, complete with historical costuming worn by some of the League's officials! (Proceeds from the event went towards the reconstruction of Opelucid and Lanucosa following the events of b2w2.) While many of these pieces were auctioned off (they were, after all, designed in part by Elesa). Hilda's costume featured a few reconstructed armor pieces based on what was believed to be the original Hero of Ideals' armor (the outfit itself is essentialy a black version of Zendaya's chainmail met gala dress, you know the one.) Iris' gown, based on one worn by one of the first recorded queens of Unova, is also present. Both are on display alongside the original designs and approximate illustrations of the original outfits they were based on. Some original pieces from destroyed or unsalvageable portions of the castle, largely decorative elements like carved bricks, murals, some statues that were salvaged from the garden, etc. These are displayed alongside a large archeologically-recreated blueprint of the original castle. Though the actual throne is in the champion's chamber, a recreation of it is on display here as well, with several photos of the last several generations of champions seated in it. (Hilda is still mad she wasn't allowed to wear a cardboard burger king crown in her photo.) A large section is actually dedicated to the preservation and display of Isshu culture, which has sort of been steadily declining for decades. (I mean, it's been on the decline for centuries, basically since the fall of the old kingdom, but it did remain steady for a good portion of time.) This also includes some pieces by modern Isshu artists, most created by folks from the Village of Dragons. A more recent addition to this particular section is a display detailing the reconstruction of the old Isshu language from some surviving ancient writings, including some of the original notes from the researcher who pioneered the effort, one Ardbert Blake (generously donated by his surviving family members, the Blake twins), and a bit of insight into how this was used to decipher the writing in the Abyssal Ruins. Finally, of course, is historical tools and weaponry! Like the clothing collection, they are displayed according to the era in which they originated. The crowning jewel of this collection is an ancient round shield engraved with intricate, interconnected runes. This is the Shield of Seals, the oldest known Isshu artifact left in the world. Unbeknownst to the Historical Society, however, the league is also in possession of its companion: the original Sword of Seals. While the original artifact was widely believed to have been lost following the fall of Isshu, presumably destroyed. However, some years ago—during Alder's championship—the Galarian government gifted Unova with (returned) an ancient sword, believed to have been "recovered" (stolen) sometime between the fall of Isshu and foundation of Unova. While significant for its age and the very intricate, seemingly ornamental engravings on it, there's no real way to determine that this is the Sword of Seals, as no real concrete record of it still exists.
#hilda also INSISTS that the league is haunted#this is an ongoing debate amongst the e4#hit the books ★ { headcanon. }#anyway their dad was a college professor in opelucid#specialized in linguistics and translation#also - I LIKE MUSEUMS OKAY??? DON'T JUDGE ME FOR MY WEIRDLY IN-DEPTH FAKE MUSEUM EXHIBIT#keeps this short bc while i could spend all day coming up with specific artifacts i won't i'm not That insane

this is your periodic reminder that for all the artifacts and errors and "tells" one could possibly list, the only reliable way to actually determine if an image is ai generated is to investigate the source. it is becoming increasingly common for "fake classical paintings" to circulate around curative aesthetic blogs, and everyone should be using this as an opportunity to not only exercise their investigative skills but also appreciate art more in general. you're all checking out the artists you reblog, right?
so what are some signs to look for? let's use this very good example.
what a lovely late-impressionist piece blended with evocative leyendecker-esque themes! why haven't you ever heard of this artist before? surely tumblr would be all over an artist like this. who is justin brown?
your two options from here are to do a search for the name, or a reverse image search. i prefer reverse image searching, particularly when it comes to a common name like "justin brown". so what does that net?
Immediately, without looking at any text, something is wrong: it barely exists. an actual historical piece would turn up numerous results from websites individually discussing the piece, but no such discussions are taking place. Looking at the text, though, does show the source-- and at least in this case, the creator was honest about their medium.
But let's also look at the "exact matches", in case a source doesn't make itself apparent in the initial sidebar results like this.
This section will often tell you post dates of images, and here it can be seen that the very first iteration of the image was posted 15 days ago. It did not exist online prior to that.
Seeing how long an unsourced image has been floating around is a skill applicable to more than just generative images! See a cool image of an artifact or other intriguing item with a vivid caption? Reverse search it! If all the results are paired with that caption and only go back a few months, you might just have viral facebook spam.
Sometimes generative creators are dishonest about their medium and do not tag it like in the example, so that's when establishing "jpeg provenance" becomes important. While it can be a little trickier to determine if someone is using generative images and not admitting to it if they aren't trying to pass it off as a classic, something to consider is the age of their account and the frequency with which they post. Here are some account red flags:
-Did they only start posting art after 2022, or if they did before, did their style/skill level WILDLY change? Not gradual improvement-- I'm talking amateur graphite portraits straight into complex digital renders. Everyone starts somewhere, newness is not a red flag alone; it's newness combined with existing in a vacuum away from any community.
-Do they post fully-finished paintings several times a week? -Do many of these paintings seem iterative of a similar theme or subject matter ("three well-dressed young men face each other under shade and dappled sunlight")?
-Does their style change in inconsistent ways? An artist that can swap between painting like Drew Struzan and Hokusai should be pretty well known, right? Why is no one hyping this guy?!
-Do they have social media besides the source instagram? If so, what are they posting about? Are there any WIPs? Doodles? Interactions with other artists? Gallery dates? 3am self-doubt posts? Or is it all self-promo? Crypto? Seemingly nothing art-related at all for someone pushing out 3 weekly paintings?
Basically, if it's important to you to omit this stuff when you curate, please don't just smash reblog if the source doesn't seem to be the OP themselves. Seeking out sources was important even before this became an issue, now it is more than ever.
peace n love
