—What if you could make a person go left instead of right, backward instead of forward? What if you had the power to change the course of history? Does that mean nothing's meant to be? Does that mean God's not there? Would he stop me?
—What are you asking?

Garcy + I cannot kiss you and I want to.
Usual canon-divergence, pre-relationship, PG-ish, and also on ao3.
The timing is never right.
The timing is never right, and it’s tearing him apart, and to know that there is light at the end of this should be powerful enough but not anymore. Not as the time gets closer, not as she gets closer.
He had memorized the ending portions of her journal before he met the version of her that exists in his timeline – the possibility of parallel universes has occurred to him as a certain explanation, but the version he thinks of as his Lucy has some differences from the alternate version of herself who stopped him from committing a desperate act. She’s more fragile, for one. Has not yet become all that she will be.
And he loves her anyways, and he cannot do a damn thing about it, and perhaps this is some kind of purgatory and he deserves every moment.
A memorized timeline and he still has a year to go, and the waiting gets worse with every passing day, every step closer to this woman who still does not see her power. She has plenty of people on her about her abilities and potential, yes, but it’s more… the inner strength of her, the patience on the long days and bad nights, the fact that she has never given up on him even when he was unforgivably terrible to her and still she-
Flynn has never been a great believer in the idea of soulmates, and fate as a more general concept didn’t make sense to him until his previous life was torn away, but there is something deeply comforting in knowing that there is still a future ahead of him and every bit of it is wrapped up in this tiny damaged woman who in turn will go supernova because of his faith in her. They save each other. That was the last part of the journal, followed only by a set of words no version of her would understand the significance of unless he had loved her and-
The timing isn’t right yet, but he still looks at her and wants to know what she feels like in his arms for purely emotional reasons, what she tastes like, how she would move over him and-
He is brought out of his distracted state with her hand on his shoulder, and he realizes that he cannot remember what he is trying to read or anything else around him but her.
“Something wrong?” she asks, and he has made progress as a person these past few months in particular but there is still a unique purity to her worries and he-
“You shouldn’t be so close.”
She glances away for a moment and he can feel the unspoken thought of here-we-go-again and yes he knows it is a certain kind of improper to inflict his wayward emotions on a woman with no real obligation to handle them but is it truly wrong if they are in balance on this, if she does the same in return as often as she does, if she-
“What did I do now?” and oh the sadness in her voice, her wide eyes, this tragic woman who has been treated like a mistake too many times and-
“The timing isn’t…”
“Timing for what, exactly?”
Hell with this, he’s never been one for holding back and this feels like a strange enough exception and time to end it.
“I cannot kiss you. And I want to.”
“Because of the journal,” she finishes.
“Yes.”
“Things have already happened that weren’t how you memorized them,” she reminds him. “We don’t have to follow some script because-“
“I am trying to protect you.”
“What you’re actually doing is frustrating the hell out of me. What you say and what you want… shouldn’t be different things.”
But they have to be, he wants to say. They have to be or else he will hurt her, they have to be or else-
She closes the distance before he can stop it from happening, and it is the lightest most innocent breath of a first kiss, and he is unraveled.
“There. Technically, you didn’t kiss me.”
“Still…”
“There is no right time. Maybe there has never been and will never be. Be in this moment with me.”
He is not ready, and he knows that will be respected clearly enough, but for a moment he can almost let her be right. Maybe there is no right time, he repeats. Maybe there is only this.
Every instinct in him says this is still not quite enough, but he memorizes the taste of her, lemon lip balm and sweet-sadness, and not now but soon.

#México #Mexico #virgenmaria #purisima #inmaculadaconcepcion #Tolsa #church #art #sacred art #virginMary #mother #God #faith #hope #prayer #temple #sculpture #history #symbol #woman #beautiful #colors #insta #instagood #güerarodríguez #laprofesa #cdmx https://www.instagram.com/p/ChqDn_gpaft/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Another Garcy fic idea/concept art. Feel free to use it if you wish.
After tragically losing his family, Garcia Flynn turns to faith and becomes the Catholic priest in a small American town. One day a new history teacher steps into his lonely and numb life with what she claims is his son, a young boy with brown curls and pale blue eyes. Garcia and Lucy find themselves in the web of temptation, desire and the rules of his new life. Who knows if the bond  between the three of them is not just a coincidence, but something way more complicated and more dangerous. Maybe even Lucy has some secrets that she doesn't dare to reveal.
@even-in-winter thank you for the pictures and everything.

“I’ll take care of you.” “It’s rotten work.” “Not to me. Not if it’s you.” for Garcy? ^^
I’m hanging out with my sister today somewhere with decent internet, so here we go! Set roughly during Timeless S3, courtesy of @timeless-season-four.
18. “I’ll take care of you.” “It’s rotten work.” “Not to me. Not if it’s you.”
Lucy has gotten pretty good at ignoring the emotional ramifications of losing everything that ever mattered to her.
There’s always something else to focus on. Research into the possible events Rittenhouse wants to alter, getting into the Lifeboat to stop Rittenhouse, figure out who exactly is running Rittenhouse now, Rittenhouse this, Rittenhouse that, in every goddamn part of her life--
She’s not the only one fraying at the edges, though she hasn’t been the best of friends in that regard. They’ve all been suffering in some way since Jessica betrayed them, since Chinatown, since Rufus came back, since the change in Rittenhouse’s leadership--
They’re all crumbling in some way or another.
But for the most part, everyone has someone they can lean on. For all that Rufus and Jiya are trying to find a new footing in their relationship, they still have each other. Wyatt has been confiding in Denise as of late, and even Connor has barely let Rufus out of his sight.
And then there’s Flynn.
Who’s still being treated like a ticking bomb. Maybe less so than before, but Lucy is pretty sure someone said something (she has her money on Denise, but maybe other factors are at work that she hasn’t noticed) and suddenly he’s not the stable factor of the team anymore. He’s fraying like the rest of them.
Well, Lucy finally decides, several evenings after Roanoke and after playing witch and familiar with Flynn, after an embrace that made her feel safer and more secure than she has in far too long, none of us deserve to be alone right now.
Lucy steels her courage and knocks on his door. She’s only half-surprised that he opens it. They stare at each other for an immeasurable moment, stretched and sludgy like strings of honey.
Just like the evening after a mission with uplifting blue’s music and shared lost secrets, Flynn lets her in without a word.
Once she’s inside, he speaks. “No vodka, tonight.”
Lucy shakes her head. “I just wanted to ask...you’ve been...” Her fingers tangle and untangle from each other. “I guess I wanted to see how you’ve been.”
Flynn scoffs and waves his hand. “It’s nothing you need to worry--”
“But I do,” she interrupts. “I...” she clears her throat, “...you’ve been...you’ve helped keep my head above water for a long time now, and I’m worried that you won’t take care to keep from drowning yourself.”
Flynn stares at her in that way that always wraps around her, warm and familiar and terrifying all at once, like she’s something precious, but also sublime and powerful. She has no idea how he does it and she never wants to destroy that feeling. She wants to hold onto it as long as possible.
Before he knows the truth. Before he knows who you really are. Before he knows you carry the lineage of Rittenhouse himself in your blood.
“I’m not sure you want to be the one to hold me up,” Flynn eventually says. He wipes a hand down his face and looks very much like something inside of him is still dying. Wants to reach out, but is terrified of falling, of hoping for someone to reach back.
I’m not worth it. He doesn’t say it, but she hears it and it chips away at her chest.
She reaches out, tentatively, and brushes her fingers against his arm. “Well,” she whispers, “I think I do.”
You’re worth it. You’re worth everything, and I’m sorry I haven’t expressed that more.
She doesn’t say it either, but she hopes he hears it. He deserves just as much validation and faith as she does, and if she has to be the one to offer it, damn it, she will do whatever it takes.
(It should frighten her, how necessary this man has become to her. But it’s not. It feels like the most right thing that’s happened since she was brought to this damn bunker.)
He still hasn’t looked away from her. She still hasn’t taken her hand back.
Eventually, he lets out a shuddering breath and pulls his arm away so he can hold her hand. The feeling of his fingers on her palm does dangerous things to her heartbeat.
“Okay,” he whispers.
They sit on opposite ends of his bed and, after some verbal fumbling, get to talking about everything that’s happened and even come close to what in particular is bothering him.
It’s a start. Lucy will take it if it means helping him the way he’s helped her.
(And if she keeps nights like these tucked away in a corner of her mind so she can have something to hold onto when he inevitably recoils from her, well, that’s nothing anyone else needs to know.)

48. “Can you promise me no one else has to get hurt?” For garcy? If you want:)
Set in S1, canon divergence after 1x12.
“If this doesn't work... If I can't convince him, can you promise me no one else has to get hurt?”
Flynn’s gaze flickers over her, his look unreadable. “You should have more faith in yourself, Lucy.”

Garcy + Roleswap AU
1. History professor Garcia Flynn’s life has never been what one would call exciting, but he’s content. His wife and daughter are loving and supportive, and he absolutely loves his job. But everything changes when Agent Denise Christopher introduces him to the world of time travel, and tells him a terrorist named Lucy Preston stole a time machine.
2. Lucy Preston is no terrorist. She worked for a private security company from the time she was in highschool, seeking to protect Americans everywhere. The company has been in her family for generations, and she has long looked forward to taking it over. Until one night, when she learns that one of the companies they’re protecting is actually a shell company, run by an organization named Rittenhouse. When she goes to the head of the company to question it, he doesn’t say much, but three days later, she wakes up to gunshots. Amy, her beloved sister, is dead, and she’s being framed for it.
3. She goes on the run, and there, hiding out in an old history museum, of all places, she runs into Garcia Flynn. And oh, she’s never had anyone look at her like that before. He tells her he’s from the future, gives her a journal, and tells her that they can save their families. Then he disappears, and she has more questions than ever.
4. Stealing the time machine is a leap of faith. Thankfully, Rufus is wiling to help her, because she desperately needs a pilot. But it works, it’s real, time travel is real… And she will stop at nothing to burn Rittenhouse to the ground and get her sister back.
5. The first mission is not quite a success, but Flynn already knows he will go back. As he, Jessica, and Anthony part ways, he thinks he might have actually made a couple of friends. Lorena will be thrilled. (Except Lorena is not thrilled, because she is not there, and neither is Iris. According to records, they’ve never existed. He’s all alone.)
… Thanks for the ask! I hope you enjoyed!
