So yesterday was free comic book day and I went again this year. I didn’t get to scan through the boxes of dollar comics this year because I have a sprained wrist and didn’t want to deal with the crowds surrounding them and possibly bumping/hurting my wrist. But I still got some cool treasures.

60 free comics, 3 posters, some cards, & stickers.

Bought 17 figures - Green Hornet and Kato still in the box, 3 LOTR, Dracula from Van Helsing, 3 Funko Pops, Stan Lee Dorbz, Captain America, Kirk from Wrath of Khan, Exo-Skeleton Spawn, 3 Heroclix, and Static Shock. Plus two books and 4 stickers.

I got really excited about the Green Hornet figures. I was bouncing throughout the store as I carried it. I hurt my wrist holding them, but I wasn’t gonna risk someone swiping from me. It wasn’t originally priced and I was terrified they were gonna say it wasn’t for sale. I was ready to cry if they did. But it was and now it’s mine and I’m happy. 😊

Worldbuilding June Day 3- Who lives in your world?

We covered this a little earlier but more in details;

The Drawl are humanoid residents of the planes and coast line who have vibrant colored skin tones ranging all colors of the rainbow. They are master manipulaters of mana who utilize it to protect and shroud their city in power. There is a bit of sexual dimorphism to the race in that females are often taller and more heavily built while males are often shorter and lithe. They are known for long hair and slender robes. Their colors are represented by White and Blue.

The Homarids are lobster like creatures that control most of the ocean on the plane. They are large standing near 8 ft. tall on average with hard exo-skeletons and fiercely cunning strategies. They push out during the dark years to the land and flood the coast with their spawn creating new generations of Comarids that push into the mainland consuming all they can until they become strong enough to return to the ocean. Their colors are represented by Blue and Black.

The Goblins of Crackstagg and the Red Peaks are some of the most noble warriors of the realm. Reliable, sturdy, they have earned the respect of all those they have met in combat. Short of stature with varying skin tones of red>dark grey. they are ingenious scavengers and artificers. They construct great roadways in their city and often are accompanied by powerful golems constructed to protect Crackstagg. Their colors are represented by White and Red

Shifters of Ne’choung, the other half of the Red Peaks are a breed of feral looking humanoids. Hairy with long teeth and sharp claws, the Shifters are often prone to sharp angers that are quick to shift mode; however they spend much of their life living in the calming spires of Ne’choung to attempt to control this temper. They are prone to consuming ambient magic in the air which causes their body to go through a painful and sudden change from man like being to a full beast. While in this beast form the Shifters are often much stronger and faster, but they can only maintain this form by constantly consuming mana. Their colors are represented as Red and Green

A race of Elves known as the Quell live in the swamp lands of the red petal forest that shares the same name as their people. Tall, beings with sharp jagged features and jet black eyes, these Elves are masters of manipulating the beasts of the forest and tapping into the elemental nature of the mana that resides there. They are ruled by the queen Quel’ishar who had founded the city of Quell in the swamplands. Their colors are represented as Green and Black

Valga’s Level of Technology

​Valga’s technological levels have come far from sticks and stones, to just using pen and paper to write. With the way things are, a person could expect to find pretty much anything one would expect from daily lives’ luxuries save for the fact that it is very futuristic and ahead of Earth’s own. Though it is not completely friendly to the environment, the air is significantly cleaner and there no green house gas being expelled from the factories as much of it is magic. As such, a lot of the modern cities in Valga and Kingdoms’ capitols enjoy the excellent benefit of having everything powered by the ‘Machina’, an artificial spirit that outputs incredible amount of filtered mana from the buildings they reside. The workers there take shifts to make sure the large grimoire crystals to filter mana through are actively changed around the clock and are rarely ever shut down unless there is an emergency.

As for the weapons, the weapons from the old world still have their place here within the military as tactically viable options due to their make and use on the battlefield have great effect as an incredible force multiplier. However, due to its cost to make personalized Grimoire-powered magic weapons for each soldier cost is more often than not expensive, such options are left to the specialized teams or units that either take on extremely difficult assignments or are high-risk Rift Spawn hunters. 

Otherwise, much of the Kingdoms’ militaries are outfitted with standard use firearms, exo-skeleton frames, and attached close combat weapons. Though the powdered Grimoires used as a black powder to fire off spells and bullet casing with pre-inscribed chants are much weaker than properly cast magic, it still manages to achieve the effect of either properly killing or incapacitate the target from combat depending on what is used. 

Unfortunately, after the great devastation brought about the world due to the Fenrir Team taking inevitably too long to stop the Witch and Nero from causing several time paradoxes, it caused a lot of things and people to appear, disappear, or simply altogether forgotten from the existence, causing the world to suffer from some technological decline. Therefore, some of the major things like ‘Mana-Grimoire Fusion Engines’ once used to power great warships in the air are considered officially lost.
