Alright. Okay.
i watched the third episode. and THERE'S SO MUCH I HAVE TO SAY HOLY SHIT.
but. but.
there's a thing that is so interesting to me that I want to share.
MASSIVE SPOILERS BELOW
Which is what GreenScreen symbolizes. And it's very interesting.
Okay I'm just gonna- @aannonn we had a long chat about this.
I'm just gonna paste what I said on here and splice them together
"it's a manifestation of green's mistakes. how the videos got in there the first place is due to his "control freak" qualities. it could be a symbolizing of negative things you keep bottled up. that eventually tears you and your friends apart. It's a part of himself that he thinks he wants to delete."
Yeah so the next parts are better worded.
I think GreenScreen becoming much more massive is a representation of Green's "mistakes," the things he kept throwing in the recycling bin (because that's not what the audience wants) coming back so much bigger, and more menacing to attack him. Attack his friends.
Because, when you bottle something up for so long, it comes back stronger. So much stronger and more menacing than it was before. Eventually, it comes back and starts destroying you. Not just you, but everyone and everything else.
And all GreenScreen wanted was to be seen. Remember their reaction when Green uploaded them to YouTube. And Green couldn't "defeat" GreenScreen, in that sense. Like defeat defeat, as you would a villain. He can try and run away from it, sure. But he'll still have to face it in the end.
At the beginning, I think Green saw GreenScreen as something irredeemable. (Perhaps how a perfectionist views mistakes, and GreenScreen is a mistake) But eventually. He loves it. He has to love and embrace and show the video to the world and love that part of him, too.
They wanted attention. LIKE GREEN DID DURING THE ARC. The kind of attention that Green didn't give because he wanted to be perfect.
GreenScreen also being a copy, a glitched version of Green also might be part of this. A version of him that's built up by things he wants to hide, things he deletes because of the comments. A patchwork of mistakes, perhaps.
And fuck. the ending. The part where he hugs the glitched superhero video. HOLY SHIT MY HEART FUCKING MELTED ON THAT-
But he's hugging a mistake. He isn't throwing it away, he's showing it to the world and watching it with his friends and they all enjoy it. Too. Embracing his flaws. Celebrating it, even. A part of him that he hates.
AND THEY ALL HUG AT THE END ASFDOIHOISDFHI
MY HEARTTTTTT.
