WHEN THEY'RE CURIOUS ABOUT YOUR HAIR jjk x black!fem!reader
remi's note: i just wanted to do something like this cuz i thought about how most of the black readers seem to have braids all the time. so this is when they see your natural hair!! this applies to any black girl hair type but mostly 4c bc that's my hair type. hope you like it :)
He's been staring at you for at least thirty-five minutes and it's finally starting to work your nerves.
"What are you looking at?" You ask him with slight irritation in your tone.
"I just.. I don't think I've ever seen your hair out like that before." He says quietly. It settles your nerves to know he's not looking at you like you're weird, he's looking at you out of curiosity. You've been braiding your hair into cornrows so your natural hair can breathe. It's not healthy for your hair to always be in braids.
He watches as you part your hair with ease, it wasn't always like this though. It took time and patience to be able to do what you do to your hair now. There were several times where you came close to giving up, because your hair is just so thick and there's so much of it.
"Well, this is what it looks like when it's not styled. Get used to it cuz I'm not paying for braids all the time." You quickly oil one section of your scalp before you start the braiding process.
"I mean.. I'll pay for them if you want, baby, but your natural hair is so cute." The idea of being accepted by your partner for who you are, unconditionally makes your heart beat wildly.
"Is it soft? It looks really soft." Child-like curiosity and pure excitement takes over his features. You usually don't let people touch your hair but for your boyfriend you'll make an exception.
"Are your hands clean? I just washed and deep conditioned it." You've never seen him hop off the couch that fast. You hear the kitchen sink running. When his hands are clean and dry he makes his way over to the couch you're sitting on.
His eyes ask 'can I?' and you give him a small nod. He softly taps the top of your unbraided hair as if it would break if he touched it too hard.
"Wowwwwwwwww. Can you teach me how to braid it so I can do it for you?" The way he's acting like a little kid seeing a cute puppy makes you giggle.
"I doubt you'll get it on the first time but I'll teach you if you want." His smile about doubles when you agree. Everything about you is pretty, your skin, your eyes, and of course your pretty curls.
GOJO, yuji, YUTA, choso, inumaki, TODO, NANAMI
He's never watched you take out your braids before, but now that he's doing it, he's invested. You've noticed it but decided not to say anything, if he has any questions he has absolutely no problem asking you.
"What are you gonna do when you take all the braids out?"
"Wash it and braid it up myself. Or maybe I'll twist it up." Instead of saying something he just nods.
He tries to fake uninterested but you see the quick little glances he thinks that he's sneaking in.
"Do you ever straighten it?"
"Sometimes yeah, but it's not great for my hair, heat in general I mean." You quickly cut a braid slightly longer than your natural hair so the unbraiding process goes by much faster.
"I think I like when it's out. I've never seen your hair all poofy before." He's confused when you giggle at his terminology for your hair.
"You mean my afro?" He nods again. "I think you should wear it out more often let your scalp breathe you know?"
The fact that he knows a little bit about your hair makes you proud and content. "Yeah but that means extra work because I have to twist it up before going to bed. So I don't wake up in the morning with my hair all scrunched up."
He sets his phone down and sits closer to you than he was before, "I'll help you twist it. I want to see that pretty hair of yours."
"Well, I have to wash and condition it first, but since you're over here you can help me take my braids out. Don't cut too close though."
"Girl, I know what I'm doing, your hair is not that long." He gets a playful slap to the chest for that comment.

Hajime Hinata... The character that is one of the most complex, yet he is reduced to nothing but a boring protagonist. It's quite ironic, isn't it?
A morally grey, reckless, and disturbed character behind the mask of a protagonist. Overlooked precisely because you play as him, and despite being him, somehow people do not look at his perspective at all.
Hanging out with people who say red flags, thinking, and saying red flags himself, admitting to himself that he was not above violence or murdering someone, and that he felt like there was a part of him that would do anything to leave the island.
Dependant on others, matching people's energy, not strictly in a positive way, drawn and attracted to Nagito Komaeda of all people, weak personality that bends under stronger personalities.
Becoming Izuru Kamukura, lacking in self-worth, yearning for things bigger than himself.
...A small summary of it anyway.
Hinata makes me sad when I think about him and the life he threw away for something like talent. Out of desire to become something, he, a nobody, became the embodiment of talent itself, losing himself in the process—quite literally. With his memories gone and everything that made him who he was, he became a shell of himself with undoubted issues with dissociation and depersonalisation.
From a plain, mundane life to a life that was supposed to be extraordinary, yet left him feeling unsatisfied all the time and lacking stimulation because nothing interested or entertained him anymore. Locked away in a room without a purpose except to serve one... something that he would be given as the tool he had been made. Manipulated into throwing the world into despair, and although he knew he was being used, he still allowed it because it was better than being in that room again without a purpose and because he wanted to find a bit of pleasure.
He was taken advantage of by the very school he idolised and craved to attend because they knew how badly he wanted to mean something and how he admired hope and talent. They took that dream, and they turned him into a lab rat, erasing clear traces of him while they used the money from the fee he paid to get into the school for that very experimentation.
He's tragic, even. Not just sad.
Bad self-worth, barely even acknowledged—most likely, not even by his parents, who signed the consent form on the project, given how he turned out and acted around others. Praise, compliments, being seen, all those concepts were pretty much foreign to him. Instead, his life had a lot more bullying and disturbing events. He most likely didn't have many friends, if he had any, and he even seemed embarrassed by the idea of friends and didn't occupy his mind with that concept too much.
The only friends he made had died.
In fact, the death of his only friend in the reserve course was what pushed him over the limit in the first place. He was hesitant, and he didn't seem that thrilled by the idea of joining the project, even leaning more towards declining. That, however, made something in him snap. That, being denied the ability to walk in, and then getting beaten up for simply wanting to know the truth. By the time he dismissed Nanami, his mind was already made up. He was not stable. His decision was reckless and done on a whim in the wrong state of mind. Impulsive.
He's a really beautiful and meaningful character to me. There is so much to him that I can't even fit in multiple long posts... Even if these are the obvious, I just think that many people don't care about it or pay attention to it—or him in general.
I'm very happy he was able to choose a future for himself in the end, with everybody else, living on their own terms and accepting everything, moving on and healing.
I wish he could have had an easier life. I know everything that I could possibly know about him, or so I assume, yet I never fail to find him interesting and great.

His love language
jujutsu kaisen
Characters: Itadori Yuji, Satoru Gojo, Megumi Fushiguro, Inumaki Toge, Sukuna Ryōmen, Nanami Kento
☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*
Itadori Yuji
His love language is messages. Every day he will write a thousand messages of various contents: from the banal "Already awake?" until the last revelation “I miss you and want to hug :(” or “Do you remember that I love you?” Even if he is very busy with a training session or a dangerous task, he will still find time to write to you. happy when he mastered a new trick. Without wasting a minute, Yuji will write to you: “Guess what I did!” He will ask you until he gives up and says himself. He's bon literally jumping for joy, telling you about his successes in working on your technique. He can write to you right here and now. So you can see your Itadori at work.
Of course, he will not forget about you either. Asks if you ate the breakfast he made, if you forgot fresh clothes, and so on. Itadori will act as if you are next to him. Everything will be fulfilled as if his heart is filled with feelings and thoughts about you. And then he will lively talk about his victory - just out of a desire to show that he is very strong. You will see it in detail.
His heart literally leaps out of his chest when you write him first: "I miss" or "Come to my house, please." It is very important to support each other by communication at a distance. At least Yuji is one hundred percent sure of that.
Satoru Gojo
The words.
He will say that you look great today, even if you are unkempt and in your home clothes. He doesn't laugh. Not. He really likes the way you look. He probably likes the way you talk about your complexes. Then he begins to see in you a person who, in fact, is the most beautiful in the world, but who does not want to admit it. Gojo knows that it is useless to persuade you, so he just watches as you do not notice what is right in front of your eyes. And yet, from time to time, he notices that he is gorgeous in any form.
In other words, he betrays his passionate desire to touch you. His lust comes not only from his desire to get enough - Gojo loves to touch and look. And in this area, he seems to himself almost a genius - somehow he even comes to the idea that it was his touch that made you so beautiful.
And yet, in the language of love, words take over.
Megumi Fushiguro
Walking.
Walking with you in the evening in an almost deserted park is the best way to show love. All signs of affection can be combined in an ordinary walk: from sweet conversations to gentle touches. Plus, fresh air is good for both of you. Therefore, a romantic evening for you is like the privacy of you and the wildlife around. This is also the ideal time when you are alone and there is no one else around (except, perhaps, Gojo, who for some reason is so actively interested in your relationship, photographing you from several angles). It is also the perfect moment to be completely honest with you and be direct about how much he loves you. All day long, all your feelings that you want him to share will be understood and appreciated and acquired great value. A walk is the perfect moment to completely and decisively give a damn about everyone else except you and those who have feelings for you.
Inumaki Toge
Touches.
Forehead, cheeks, neck, shoulders, collarbones are the most favorite parts of your body to touch, according to Inumaki. Moreover, this happens completely spontaneously: at some point he may just look at one of them and, succumbing to an irresistible desire to touch you, he will touch this place. From this you twitch and look at him with a bewildered look, and then smile. If there is no one near, then there is a high probability that he will still kiss there. From this you will already start. However, like him. Your thoughts at the same moment are occupied with one thing - what to do if he suddenly wants more. However, only he himself can make this happen. You just create ideal conditions for this. If you are passionate about some book or work, while he touches you and strokes - do not move, otherwise you will embarrass him. But if he himself suddenly steps away from you and looks at your lips, do not try to kiss him yourself. Let him do it. Try to relax, as if to surrender, and calmly follow him. You will feel how everything goes by itself.
Sukuna Ryōmen
Perhaps the only love language he knows is sex.
For the very reason that explains why he does not speak other languages: instead of compliments, he gives out rude and dirty phrases that are acceptable only during intercourse. Hugs and veal tenderness are not for Sukuna, he prefers brute strength and smelly male seed. What does he say when it comes to compliments? "Your fat has finally gone into boobs!" He also says: "Your ass is bigger than mine!" And this is usually his standard way of communicating with you. All he has besides sex is phrases about how sexy you are. However, he hates everything that makes you that way.
You might think that he looks at you as an object of lust. But this is not the case. For example, if he sees that you are crying in the bathroom, he will try to draw you into the conversation, saying that you must take care of yourself. But in general, people like him are not able to love, but only hate, and for what they themselves are not capable of experiencing. In this case, the King of Curses turned out to be the weakest of all and began to see a spark in you, in which he did not see in any of the people. This explains why he was so annoyed when you asked if he ever loved. The king of curses fell in love with you because you were able to defeat hatred in him. Night in bed is the only thing he can thank you with.
Nanami Kento
Household help
Sharing household responsibilities is the easiest way to understand each other and become even closer. When both of you forget about problems and just enjoy working together. For example, this is how you found out that Nanami is a very good cook. He, of course, does not deny that the woman is the keeper of the hearth, but he does not think that you should do all the chores around the house yourself. And helping you is not so difficult, it will even cause positive emotions. After all, while you are doing something together, you can chat about anything: from success at work, to childhood memories that you first hear from each other. Even simple cleaning of a room can turn into something more subtle. You always feel comfortable because you don't have to hide something during a conversation. It's a simple thing to share and get just as much joy in return. And if you had a child, then he would most likely be as hardworking as you are.

i'll be honest, i'm eager to get to chapter 5 so i don't wanna spend too much more time picking apart chapter 4 right now, buuuuut there is one more thing that stood out to me this chapter that i wanted to circle back to. it's about the motive.
typically the cast of this game has reacted to the motives like "...or we could simply not do that." when they find out they have a huge chunk of their memories missing in chapter 1, most of them react by trying to convince themselves that this isn't true and by resolving not to participate in the killing game. when they're told in chapter 2 that the motive is hidden in a video game, most of them decide not to play the video game. they tried to deal with the despair fever situation in chapter 3 by quarantining and treating the sick people as best they could, even though it would have been easy for someone to take advantage of the situation by simply murdering a sick person (in particular komaeda, who didn't look like he was going to make it anyway) and thus advance the killing game. notable exceptions aside, for the most part everyone has attempted to resist participating in the killing game at all. this chapter's motive is different in that they all wind up trapped inside the funhouse, from which there is no exit at all (they are explicitly told this) unless another murder happens. choosing not to play by the rules this time means accepting that the entire group will die.
when hinata has that initial reaction of like "well, it's better if we all starve to death," i think that's an understandable & relatable sentiment. he'd prefer for them to all die as friends than for there to be another murder (and the associated betrayals / breaches of trust) in the group. this makes total sense given everything they've already been through and how hopeless the situation seems and yet it is still a bad way of looking at it. the initial disagreement on the topic happens between him and komaeda (and we know komaeda has been viewing the situation the entire time as "it's better that one of the shsl students has the chance of making it off the island than for all of us to remain on the island forever" — that's why he kickstarted the killing game in the first place), so it's likely that players would tend to take hinata's side, but notably nobody backs him up. not even nanami, who has been the most adamant about preventing any further murders. even hinata winds up rethinking his stance a bit later and feeling like he has to try and do something, hence his later attempt to access the final dead room, but by this point he's too weak from hunger and is easily dissuaded by nanami. i think all this speaks to hinata's character quite a bit; he leans pessimistic and defeatist, but when push comes to shove he really doesn't want to give up and die.
gundam's speech at the end about the importance of not giving up on life is fucking great. outstanding. and i think it's particularly interesting coming from the guy who committed murder knowing full well he would be executed for it for the sake of the rest of the group's survival. he felt he had to take action so that nobody else gave up on life, but knew that in doing so he was sacrificing himself. similar to sakura in the first game, he has one Particular Friend in the group but otherwise is a bit of an oddball/outcast, and yet he still puts the group survival over his own. i love that despite all his melodramatic bluster about being a dark overlord or whatever, he gets a sendoff that proves him to be kind and honorable beneath it all (something that i think is fairly apparent if you spend any time with him, but up to this point it'd be easy to just view him as a weirdo suffering from middle school syndrome). speaking of, let's talk about his execution for a second:
i have said it before. but the goal of the executions, usually, is to psychologically break the killers before they die. the main exception to this so far was last chapter, because in tsumiki's case she was already psychologically broken and there wasn't anything left to do on that front. this one is another exception, imo, but for a different reason. gundam's already made peace with the idea of dying. there was perhaps an attempt made to break him, what with using animals to kill the guy who loves animals and having his attempt at "casting a spell" be useless, but i think gundam is aware that wild animals sometimes kill humans lol and i do not think he actually thinks of himself as a magician. he's simply committed to the bit. i wanna say that there's perhaps a bit of mockery (on AI junko's part) in the "spirits of gundam's deceased pets carrying him off to heaven" thing, but i think she's accepted that she isn't going to break him in death since it was his decision to die. also, this isn't like dr1, where she set up the killing game to prove a point. this is just the opening act. she wants to get this whole VR island murder trip thing over with so she can continue with her despair apocalypse activities and so i think she doesn't mind settling for just going through the motions. breaking gundam isn't what matters here, ultimately.
if you remember the latter half of the first game, this is the point where it started to get obvious that junko was becoming increasingly desperate. we just got outright told that sakura was the traitor in 1-4, and when she chose to deal with that by committing suicide so the rest of the group would live, monokuma fabricated evidence to try and convince the group (asahina in particular) that she'd killed herself out of sheer despair. then after that we had an attempted direct attack on naegi as he slept, a sham trial designed to take kirigiri or naegi out of the game, etc. — she got so desperate to make her killing game work that she started bending her own rules. that's not happening here. what is happening is that the game is getting meaner (this chapter it was literally "commit murder asap or you'll all starve to death"), the most unhinged person here got handed the evidence that nobody here is innocent (like i said earlier, komaeda is the only one who could have cleared the final dead room on "max difficulty," which means that information was aimed at him), and the executions are less concerned with trying to psychologically destroy the culprits because this time that simply isn't the point. and i think we're meant to have this nagging feeling that this killing game is different, fundamentally speaking, as we move on to chapter 5. there's something bigger going on here, and we're getting closer and closer to finding out what that something is.
that's all i gotta say about 2-4 for now. let's start the next chapter.
