having a thought but dont have words and don't want to open myself to disk horse and i'm too tired to really be coherent. thoughts in tags because i'm a coward. this post was originally about how e*rovision trying to say their event isn't political is idiotic. it kind of got away from me because i've slept maybe 6 hours in the last 2 days

#a dot original #something something. the nature of existence is political #art does not exist in a vacuum. politics shapes your life whether you like it or not. it's just that some people are privileged enough that>#they don't notice #ex because i just saw someone mention lgbt people in children's cartoons:#choosing to include them in a positive light is political #choosing to include them in a negative light is also political #choosing NOT to include them is also political #in not choosing a side you allow space for the oppressor to continue oppressing.#this goes for other things obviously #but a person's political views absolutely shape everything they create. this is inescapable. neutrality is still a choice #if you are both lucky and inobservant you will not notice the way politics affect you #ex. a white person believing racism doesn't exist just because they've never seen it #an able bodied person not knowing what it's like to constantly fight doctors to take you seriously #someone who grew up rich or middle class believing that if you just Work Hard Enough you can get anywhere and poor people are just lazy #that's all shaped by laws and society and the dreaded politics #anyway. um.#i should go to sleep
