#undertale: scattered extension#utse#undyne (utse)#ask#anonymous#ic ask#decided to answer this with undyne instead! both because she has more info to offer on the topic than papyrus does#and also to let people know that scraps isn't the only character open for asks!#everyone else is too! scraps is just the only one who'll have icons for the foreseeable future#anyway! yeah. undyne. doesn't believe that scraps is actually papyrus. hence why she doesn't refer to him by his actual name#she used to be neighbours with a bunch of ghosts for who knows how long. she knows how they work. how they possess inanimate objects#it makes a lot more logical sense to her for ''scraps'' to be an asshole ghost antagonizing her and pretending to be papyrus#than for him to be her *actual* best friend who somehow managed to come back from the dead#since. y'know. that's not how death works
