THE SNOW FIC!!!! Okay so first of all I gotta say I was starting to lose hope because I loved Snow as a character in the book not bc hes crush material but bc he was such an absolute dick but knew how not to show it and it was so fun to read about. And the movie just showed his charming side and not so much his dick side until the end and that's really what most fics I found portray Snow as.

But as funny as it sounds THE DICK SIDE IS IMPORTANT!! I soooooo so so loved the fic bc FINALLY someone managed to capture him perfectly 😭😭😭 Thank u for the food!!!

Also sorry this is super long but I legit was so worried when Coryo in your fic showed interest in wanting reader to stay in the Capitol because I thought he was gonna rig the reaping somehow to have her be District 2's tribute and then be her mentor? That sounded like a Coryo move to me like reader has an excuse to stay in the Capitol, Coryo gets to show the world that they are HIS, and he could produce two victors in a row.

So thank god they just got kept as a pet. I mean still sucks for them but it could have gone much worse haha.

Second part of the message:

I loved the part where he mentions they can afford a servant now and then hides the recoil when he realizes he said "now" implying the financial struggle the Snows went through that he hid. I just love love love i, not only to show that he's still as prideful as ever, but that he let his guard down enough around leader to let such a big thing slip!! Coryo would never around other people!! But reader oh they were so nice and sweet and pliant. Doesn't pose any threat to him at all that he let his guard down.

And then recoils and remembers the promise he made himself. That he doesn't need love, he doesn't need a weakness again. So even with this non threatening district girl with no power, he must watch his words and actions. For his own sake.

Such a small detail but I think it was my fave part!!

First off, thank you for such a long thoughtful message, I always always love hearing what people think about fics, certain moments, etc etc, so I am just like. metaphorically pinning this to my fridge. I've re-read it so many times sent you since it in, seriously.

Continuing--Snow in the book is awful, and I agree, I think the movie kept him superficially charming (for the most part) until the end. But I think the book is essential for his character because you do get a lot more of his mindset, which they softened in the movie, particularly with his obsessive/controlling feelings re: Lucy Gray.

Oh gosh, that'd be awful. Thankfully reader was spared that. I do think he'd, down the line, threaten any siblings/friends/etc she has in District 2 (subtly) to be reaped if reader wasn't behaving. Though, tbh, considering how frightening the threat of being an Avox alone would be, I don't know that he'd have to worry much about reader rebelling.

YEP exactly. He doesn't want to be as open as he was with Lucy Gray, doesn't want to make himself vulnerable. Love is a weakness, and he knows that now. Image is everything, and image must be maintained. Reader knowing that there was a point when he didn't have the financial power, the prestige, the he has now is... not great.
