apparently this year's birthday MD concepts of each member were chosen by the company... i'm not sure if i like it, actually? if anything, it's rather limiting... i don't know what concept yunho had (i assume it wasn't 'husband going off to war'?) but both his and seonghwa's leaned p heavily into, how to put it, fabricating a "relationship" between the fans and the members? a locket with photos, a literal engagement ring, come on 😅

so far i definitely like the previous round more, because it was more about the members releasing things they personally thought was cool/fun. but i guess the variety between the iterms (and prices!) was too much, so they probably? wanted to even things out.

#i suppose. so far yunho's kit is 69k while seonghwa's is 65k #meanwhile yunho's previous kit was 18k -> yeosang's 26k -> ... -> hongjoong's 89k 😂 so depending on your point of view and bias #some fans/members got the short end of the stick. but personally i was really happy with yeosang's photobook (it felt more personal)#while the wearables were less interesting to me because i don't wear jewellery and even if i did i probably wouldn't wear these out of fear #of losing/damaging them (i wasn't really planning to clip the mic keychains to my bag because of the fingernail-killing key rings BUT #ever since i learned that the mic heads unscrew? yeah lads you're not leaving my house ever)#shrimp thoughts
